Three affordably priced mini-golf courses that include erupting volcanos, exploding heads, bubble-blowing castles, flashing-eyed sphinxes, water-spitting sarcastic statues, spewing fountains, and haunted houses with slamming doors.  They've got dippin' dots, and real food too.  This place beats Gateway Fun Park in Boulder by light-years.

But why can't they bolt down their putt-putt obstacles so people don't pick them up and move them?  This must be a phenomenon exclusive to Colorado - self-adjusting course difficulty, perhaps? - because I've never seen it anywhere else, but have seen it twice in this area.

Regardless of strange self-handicapping golf adjustables, I'll be back.  My favorite hole is the one where the course looks like a coral atoll!

I consider myself to be a put put whore meaning I got to try out a put put at least once. This one was one of my favorites. They got great mini courses and technology on the courses that are not usually with your typical put puts. This one is well worth coming back to again and again!

My 9 yr old gearhead LOVED that he could go multiple times on the raceway with their 54" height requirement.  The dragster ride is like a horizontal Tower of Doom. I needn't have blown dry my hair before going on the ride.  Super fun, can be affordable if you don't let your kids talk you into unlimited rides.  Very nicely kept grounds, friendly staff, and a surprisingly good grilled chicken sandwich.  Westminster is far out of my area, but we'd go back. I detest miniature golf, but endured 12 holes with my daughter before I blissfully lost the ball in the vulture's tree.  I got spooked at the graveyard when the guy raised up from behind the tombstone.  Good work by the Hyland Hills rec department.  Love it.

Fall is the worst time for putt putt.  It's cold and the stupid leaves are all over the place.
I remember before the promenade was built and this used to be one of The places to hang out.  It has evolved a little, but it definitely has lost some of the hype it once had.  And also a few of the groundskeepers?  One of the pool had the familiar odor of the Platte and there were leaves and twigs everywhere on all the courses.
But they do have 3 different golf courses and go carts and drag racing (which closes for the fall).  Which makes it a kinda fun place to go, more so in the summer.

Putt-putt is fine, but it's the race cars we come here for. "If you want to be a champion, you need to work hard on and off the race track," I tell my 3-year-old. He nods. We check his height. "A few more inches to go before you can race solo." We walk down to the race track and get strapped into old #44. "Let's take a shakedown lap at half speed." Despite my plea, we're soon screaming around the track. I watch my son anticipate each turn; his level of concentration is awesome. All I can hear is that CAKE song: "The sun has gone down and the moon has come up, and long ago somebody left with the cup. But he's driving and striving and hugging the turns, and thinking of someone for whom he still burns...He's going the distance, he's going for speed...."

I really have to give the City of Westminster props (does anyone really say that anymore?) for running the best recreation programs... Adventure Golf being one of them.

I remember way back when, when they started with their first mini-golf course. They now have 4! Each has their own unique theme: haunted, Egyptian, lost explorer and something else that I forget.

Each hole is fun and creative with features like bridges, tunnels, fog, crazy lights, or talking skeletons.

It's a cheap and fun way to spend a summer evening, and a makes for a really great date!

We went to this a couple of weeks back, 54 holes of miniature golf and go-karts.  Good place to just have fun.
