I have to 5-star this place because it totally deserves it. Wonderful customer service, cars in relatively new condition (less than 15k miles), massive massive discounted price. There is seriously no downside to this place. $15/day (all taxes included!) for an Aveo? Sign me up! Their car took me through flash floods in the desert without hydroplaning, went up to 10000 feet and back through the Tioga Pass, handled the curves on CA-1 (sort of... it's an Aveo, come on), and one car wash later was welcomed back with open arms!
If you're a local, this is your car rental place! -

WARNING: THEY REQUIRE A PRINTED UTILITY BILL TO RENT FROM HERE IF YOU LIVE IN CALIFORNIA. THIS IS NOT DISCLOSED UNTIL YOU ARRIVE AND THEY REQUIRE A BRIBE TO USE THEIR PRINTER.
When I arrived, the agent said that I couldn't rent a car without proof of residence. I gave him a driver's license with my address on it, but he said that doesn't count (?) and that I had to have a utility bill. I pulled up my latest PG&E bill on my smartphone, and at that point the agent said "Well, it has to be printed." I asked to use their printer and the agent refused. Then he said, if you buy our insurance, at $25 per day, I could use the printer. Having no choice and needing to get to the meeting, I paid for the insurance.
This entire operation is a scam. -

I was really hesitant to rent from this place because of the reviews, but I personally had a great experience here. I found an amazing rate of around $11 per day so I was willing to take a chance. Yes, you do have to take 2 shuttles to reach the Advantage location. Everything went very smoothly - they picked us up within 10 minutes from the main Rental Car center at the airport. We got our car very quickly, which was a fairly new Mazda mid-size vehicle. Upon returning the vehicle, we were running late for our flight home, and the van driver was kind enough to wait for us. The charge for the rental car was exactly as quoted. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because there was a $200+ "hold" on my credit card - which is normal while you're renting a vehicle. In my case, however, the "hold" for some reason was on my card for a total of 9 days. The hold continued for 4 days after the final charge, and then finally went away. This would be a problem if you are close to your credit limit. Other than that, it was a great deal and I would recommend this location.

Came into town for. Mother's Day had a reservation I received a Beat up Altima Dirty Dings Dents Etc. Got a Flat road side Never came changed it my Self. Returned the car. They Charged me Double the Price for a Flat. Stay Clear of this Rent a Wreck place you will Surely Regret it.Beware Beware spend the Extra Money and go to a Real Rental Car Company.

I didn't get the offsite location. At night time it felt like a haunted industrial warehouse tour. And the portable they call an office. Nope, good deal or not I will not be taking advantage of Advantage agaIn.

We had to take two shuttles to get to the Advantage car rental. It is not located with the other car rental agencies. We used up about 30 minutes between waiting for the two shuttles, and also riding around.
Upon arriving, we found out that they just opened in the past 30 days. We waited at least another 20-25 minutes before it was our turn.
It was apparent that one of the guys working behind the counter was brand new on the job, so he kept interrupting his co-worker for questions. So that slowed the line even more. Thank goodness we didn't get him. It looked like the company was also having trouble running debit cards - which we we witnessed with two customers ahead of us. One of those customers decided to walk out after the debit card hassle. We used a regular credit card, so there were no issues.
The worker who helped us was efficient, but I learned my lesson. Next time, I'm trying another company. It wasn't worth it to save the extra dollars because of the extra hassle in time spent while waiting. If you're on a tight budget, you can go here - just be prepared to use up some extra time. -

WARNING!!!!!! THIS AGENCY IS FAR AWAY FROM THE AIRPORT AND YOU MUST RIDE TWO SHUTTLES TO GET TO YOUR RENTAL CAR!!!!!
I wish they had told us upfront that we would have to take two shuttles to get to our car. I would have used a different company.
It took is over 45 minutes from the time we arrived at the airport to be driving away in our car. First you ride one shuttle to all the other rental cars and then an Advantage shuttle picks you up and drives you like 2 miles back past the airport to their lot. It was RIDICULOUS!!!! All because they don't want to pay $40k a year to get a permit for the airport.
We were in a huge hurry and it was awful to have it take so long, almost an hour so that we could get on the road during the worst Friday rush hour. Would have gladly paid the additional $12 to have a car with a real rental co at the airport. I'm angry bc they did not disclose this to me at the time of booking.
Car and service weren't bad, just disorganized and not upfront about their location. -

Cheap rentals, awesome staff, especially Rochelle. Get a friend to give you a lift, as it's nowhere near BART. Give your friend gas money; you can afford it! The car rental is so inexpensive!

Exactly as explained to me...even the two shuttles. The car was clean and well maintained. But the Staff was TOTALLY customer focused. I was weary because of many reviews - but this was a wonderful experience. Billing was just as expected (and a bargain! - worth the shuttle relay) but the staff - every person approached their job with me in mind. I will return to visit the Bay and I will use this rental whenever I need a car.
