Looked up my trusty Yelp to find a decent locksmith that wouldn't rape my wallet and the reviews totally came through. Called Andy this morning to inquire about a quote for cutting the combination lock off my storage unit (forgot the combination and lost the piece of paper I wrote it on; SMRTEST PERSON EVAR, I know).
Totally flexible with working around my work schedule, arrived on time (10 minutes early!) and showed my lock who was boss in a matter of oh...30 seconds. $75 dollars poorer, I finally had access to my sentimental crap that I'll never be able to get rid of. Lesson of the day: write down your combo in several places or get a padlock with keys. However, if you don't, I totally recommend Andy. Great customer service and totally reasonable prices with zero attitude. -

Andy is an amazing locksmith and I highly recommend him -- is it possible to give more than 5 stars??? He does business in a way that hearkens back to the days when service and honesty were core values in any business -- and Andy absolutely exudes a spirit of service, honesty and care for his customer.
I woke up this morning to find my car had been broken into. While I was pretty upset over the stolen financial/banking papers I had in the car, I was even more upset that they took a spare car key I had hidden just in case I ever needed one. This left me at their mercy, to return and reenter any time they pleased.
Not even two hours after I discovered the crime, Andy was at my house to recore the locks on my car. He completely fixed the ignition, doors and even the trunk, while shivering out in the freezing cold. By the time he was done, his hands were literally blue and shaking -- but getting the job done was important, and true to his word he got it done exactly as I asked. He understood the importance of getting the job done that very same day -- and went out of his way to make it happen.
Andy, I owe you big time. You're the kind of businessman I'd love to do business with again in the future.
Bonus: When I said, "Thank you, Sir!", he said good-naturedly in reply, "No 'Sir' necessary, I'm just Andy." -

The locksmith whom I initially used to re-key my new place was unprofessional - he asked me if I was single and had any kids and at the end, he offered to fix my car lock for a discount if I cooked him food. He actually put it in writing, the discount and his phone number. I was too busy to figure out what I should do about it but in the meantime, I found that I needed a new mailbox key, so I called Andy, a referral from a friend. He came out and did the mailbox, and fixed my car lock (no charge on that), and I felt very comfortable with him. When I mentioned my experience with the first locksmith, he was genuinely concerned about the incident and personally followed up with the owner of the other company (whom he knows). He offered to re-key my place for free! Even though it wasn't his responsibility, I was so blown away. He came out today, 4th of July, to re-key my place, gave me a better lock, and gave me multiple copies of the key... all free.
I don't think I've come across any business that would go to that extent for customer service that comes with genuine care and authenticity. It's really rare nowadays. I will definitely keep Andy's number handy and would recommend Andy to anyone I know. -

We recently bought a house and I got paranoid about our lock situation. After doing some research on yelp, I narrowed down the field to three people. Andy was the last person I called and he had the best price outright (the other guy was willing to match price, so it was a real toss-up who we went with in the end, but I just picked Andy because he already was the best price).
I called him on a weekday while we were at home waiting on some deliveries. I was waffling on admitting just WHEN I wanted him to come over (like, now). So finally he asks me when I wanted him over. I said: Now. He said: Okay.
He shows up SEVEN MINUTES later. Seven!! I checked my call history when he knocked on our door. We caught each other at a great time, he didn't have an appointment until later in the day and I wanted someone now. :)
I showed him the doors and explained what we wanted. Then I kind of followed him around, chatting about locks and whatnot. He noticed some things about our place and locks, which was very useful and important!
I had to leave to juggle a few other delivery people, and left Andy to his business. Whenever he came up against something (like he noticed a plastic screw instead of a real metal one), he would tell us about it. He noticed that none of the keys we had opened a pair of locks, so we were truly bummed..but then he went to his van for a while and found a key that worked and was able to fix the lock that way. He also found a replacement metal screw for the wimpy plastic one and just fit that right in.
He was here about 2hrs, gave us a bunch of great info, was a nice guy, and extremely helpful.
Funny thing is, one of our delivery guys recognized Andy when he helped his friend. Small world!
Andy is the best, we will be happy to call him back for any of our locking needs and recommend him highly to anyone looking for locksmithing services. Srsly!!Listed in: First-time home ownership for…

Locked my keys in the car, found Andy here on yelp and he was here within an hour (I live in Wallingford) got the door open, and made me a spare in a few short minutes. Nice guy, I asked for a few extra of his business cards so I could spread the word. Good pricing.

I had a silly problem with my mailbox, but Andy was prompt and patient.
I called because I thought there was something wrong with my mailbox key. He came within 20 minutes to help me out. It turned out I had to push my key VERY hard because there was mail overflow pushing the door, and stiffening the lock pins. Even though he didn't have to do much to help me, he offered to come back for NO CHARGE if a problem with my mailbox resurfaced.
Thank you Andy!Listed in: Homes Services

I would definitely recommend calling Andy if you need a locksmith.
I'd lost the keys to my old bike lock, which was attached to my bike rendering it useless, so I called up Advantage Mobile Locksmiths. Andy came by my place and quickly helped me free my bike. I thought his rate was rather cheap (almost half of what a much larger competitor quoted me) and he was a real nice guy, too. He even managed to save the cable part of the lock so I can at least re-use that part. -

Like all the other reviews here on yelp, Andy is excellent and super friendly!!! I chose Andy to help me change the lock for my restaurant in Seattle. I was suppose to meet him at the restaurant but due to an unexpected personal emergency, I was not able to be there while Andy changed the locks. My employees all said he was super fast, this was important for us because our lunch rush was soon to begin. Not only was his service fast, his charges were more than REASONABLE!!! I know this because two years ago, my restaurant was broken into and the locksmith then, charged me well over $145 with two set of keys. With Andy, I was charged half that amount with five set of keys. If you really need someone friendly, professional and fast call Andy, he always answers or will get back to you asap :)

Very professional! Andy helped us get into our house when we locked ourselves out. He also helped rekey a few locks so they all match now. Great service! On time and the estimate was right on the spot.

Fast response. Would definitely use again. I had a rare situation where I had the key to a lock on my storage unit and for some reason the lock jammed and the key could not turn. How frustrating!! Problem solved quickly and prices were reasonable. Thanks!

As good as it gets locksmith experience! Andy arrived promptly, changed the lock on my storage unit (after the key was accidentally thrown away...woops) quickly, and charged a good rate. He's super-friendly to-boot!

Andy (of Advantage) is the MAN! Like a fool I dropped my keys in my trunk and slammed it shut. After a call to Advantage Andy indicated he could meet me within 30 minutes of our conversation and he made it in 20! When the old Slim Jim couldn't get my door open he used an old school approach and got a bendy metal tool into the interior of my car and pushed the lock up manually, and made it look easy. When I revealed that the reason I couldn't get into my trunk was that I was using my spare key on my key chain after breaking my primary key, he made me a new one on the spot, saving me a trip to my dealership. Andy is really friendly and courteous too, which made my stressful predicament so much easier. Viva Advantage!

One day, I left the house to go somewhere and realized I had forgotten my specs. When I unlocked the door with my key, it wouldn't open. I remained calm (this is where you're thinking "I'll bet!") After the colorful metaphors went through in my mind, I figured the only way to get into the house, since our only other door is in the garage, was to throw my body weight against it and force it open. After 3 tries, I got in. Now, being male and a homeowner, I attempted to fix it myself but the latch was broken so I called Andy at Advantage and left a message. He returned my call that same day and came by. I had thought I needed to get a whole new door knob and latch but after he looked at it for about 30 seconds, he said he could fix it. Andy was very pleasant, honest, professional, and knowledgeable. He not only told me how our door was constructed and exactly why the latch failed (it was poorly designed), he freely instructed me on how to easily adjust it so that the problem wouldn't happen again. Andy and Advantage Mobile Locksmiths are worth the money and I highly recommend them.
