San Francisco, CA
These guys do what others will deem impossible.
As many other things in my SUV, the (OEM) rims were very particular; besides the fact that they were 21", they weren't powder-coated like other German-car rims, or chromed; their shine came from a special machining process.
So when my wife, over the course of a year, managed to give ALL four rims curb rash, every other rim-fixing place told me I was SOL and had to get four new rims.
Not these guys!
They are not cheap or fast but they're still cheaper and faster than ordering new rims from Germany. And the rims do look like new.
The 4/5 -- rather than 5/5 -- comes from a few things: they aren't cheap, they aren't fast and they did take a small chunk out of the sidewall of one of my tires when mounting it back. No biggie (did not have to replace the tire), but still one less star for that. -

I usually don't do reviews, as I believe that businesses should be left on their own to let their business practices speak for themselves. But in my years on this planet, I've never felt more of an urge to make my experience public.
Brand new 2011 Infiniti G37 IPL Coupe I just bought, see here http://www.infinitiusa... , my honest mistake led me to put curb rash on a rainy night 3 weeks in. I debated living with the consequences as it's part of the life of a car, but at 3 weeks old without even plates on the car I decided to try and get it fixed. After all, it's a small scratch on the lip, how hard can it be to make it look a little better? Very wrong of me to think so.
Brought it to Advanced Wheel Repair after reading all the reviews because I work in tech on Market and they have a quick turnaround which means I can leave it while I work and pick it up after. I took notice of the negative reviews but decided the stories are a bit far removed to account in the normal spectrum of a business's practices. I was once again very very wrong.
Called ahead and the guy on the phone said he needs to see the wheels to make sure they can color match it correctly. No problem. I bring the car down, a couple of kids came out, took a quick look at the wheels and said there's no problem they can get it done. I felt a little uneasy about the fact that these guys indeed look like young kids and not professionals. But there was only 1 negative review pointing out this same fact, and plenty of positive reviews saying they do a good job, so I leave the car.
5 hours later, I came back in a cab. As we were pulling up the driver said "They're spraying nasty shit over there, don't breathe it in." I turn and immediately see a bright neon green trash can inside the driveway and the guys holding a can of spray paint and spraying all over the can, with the fine spray mist drifting inwards into the garage. At this point I'm ticked, so far the 2 worst reviews on Yelp for this shop has both come true.
There was another customer's car right behind the trash can, a black 2010/11 VW GTI, and as they pulled the GTI out of the garage, the entire roof was coated in a bright neon green film. I mentioned the overspray as the car was pulled out, the guy cooly said "Yeah it's no problem we'll wipe that car down." Then he proceeded to tell the other 2 guys to wipe down my car which was further back in the shop. They immediately take a dirty towel, quickly spray something on my car and proceeds to begin wiping on a layer of road and rain grime that's been on the BLACK paint for a week because of the constant rain, instead of hosing it down and properly washing it.
At this point I've had enough. I told them to quit touching the car and let me get out. This whole time none of the guys probably thought I was not American-born so they kept speaking in Mandarin, which is very unprofessional to do when there's a customer right in front of you. Then one guy said sarcastically in Mandarin: "What the hell am I gonna do if he doesn't want me to wipe it down?" Uh, how about NOT SPRAYING SHIT????
I get the hell out and at this point there's a sinking feeling in my stomach. I pulled over a few blocks down because the brakes were STICKING. The guy did say clear coat gets on the rotors and they squeal for a while, but this was not squealing, the right side brakes were stuck on the rotors so hard that when I take off they pop before releasing themselves, like breaking off a piece that was glued to another piece. I pull over to inspect the brakes, then notice that the front right wheel looks a shade darker than the rear right wheel, both are wheels which they worked on. Then I walked over to the other side and facepalm myself because the original wheels are a couple of shades lighter than the other side.

But I'll put the most important part here to warn those to lazy to read the whole thing: After going back and forth with these guys, the owner finally agrees to refund me. So I say okay I'll take the refund, then he tells me THIS: "Okay, come by, we'll give your money back and scratch your wheels again." I'm not kidding. The owner insisted that this is the policy he and the owners adhere to. So go here if you want terrible results, to get treated like crap when you're unsatisfied and to deal with a bunch of THUGS running a business. -

As with my fellow Yelpers, I came across Advanced Wheel Repair in a Craigslist ad. I was searching for a wheel repair shop after denting one of my black/silver 18" wheels. I gave the number a call and a young guy came out to take a look at my wheel. He informed me it was fixable and would run me $220. It was a little pricey, especially since a new wheel runs $185, but the wheels have since been discontinued.
I went ahead with the repair and within two or three days, my wheel was returned and looked brand new. I was unable to spot where the damage once stood and was more than impressed. One of the biggest fears of running custom wheels is the possibility of potholes. However, one can have peace of mind as Advanced Wheel Repair is a reputable and knowledgeable repair shop. -

I too was quoted a price to repair my jaguar asteroid wheels over the phone but once I arrived to drop the car off the price was higher. If I wanted the wheels the exact same color as original the price was even higher. Almost the cost of new wheels. My rims were bent so I insisted that if they could not do the work to make them like new then to not proceed. They repaired and refinished all 4. I'm now assuming my bent rim problem is solved. New tires, over, $2000 at three specialty shops later I find that all evidence points to the rims still being the problem of the vibration. I'm going back next week to have them prove to me they are Not out of round and why is the paint on one of them cracking. Let's hope they handel this correctly because a report will be filed with the Bureau of automotive repair if it is not.

A bunch of young kids, not professional, expensive. Bad work done on my expensive wheel. (worse after work done).
Looking for wheel jobs. go to WheelAmerica in Hayward instead. They are professional and was referred by a reputable wheel company. -

I was driving in a construction zone off of cesar chavez and hit a cut away section of the street about 6 inches deep! Bent and cracked the lip of my front rim. Brought it in to these guys and within a week the rim was repaired and looked as good as new! Repainted, and repolished. Could never tell what happend! Overall, I would bring my stuff back to these guys for sure.

Early in 2010, I took my 18 inch original Hamann Wheel to have it repaired- Hamann HM2 wheels are rare and not made any longer, so I was out 2 wheels for a BMW E24 6 Series- Fortunately I was able to find the other one on CList- Advanced Wheel Repair performed the following-
* Repaired curb dent & rash
* Repainted wheel in silver
* Machined entire wheel
* Added a clear coat
I was promised wheel would be complete in 1.5 weeks however, wheel took 1 month(4 weeks). I would suggest Advance Wheel Repair give themselves a bit more time when relating how long it will take, so they're not rushing should any unexpected emergencies arise and they will arise in this type of business, which is expected-besides these are your wheels you will be riding on once again.
The guys in the shop are knowledgeable however, the staff needs to fine tune their customer service tactics and etiquette! They can get sloppy and short in their customer service when busy or when a customer is not happy with the end results as was the case originally- the guy at the shop actually told me "You're beginning to fucking bother me" all because I kept insisting there was oversray and other areas of the wheel could have looked better. Needless to say, I did not want to wait another month. End results were good- one can tell a slight almost unoticeable wave on lip. I give AWR Three & a half stars 3 1/2 -

Fast friendly service. I had a crack in my wheel which allowed air to leak. BMW wanted to charge me $379 for a replacement. I walked in and was quoted $200 for the repair. They took my tire, put on my spare and I was out of there in 15 minutes. They had my rim welded and good as new in less than 24 hours! Thanks guys!!

Saturday morning I call advanced wheel repair to have brand new aluminum wheels polished to high shine. I spoke to Ed (said he was the owner) and explained what I needed and asked for a quote, he say it would be $125.00 per wheel and he would pick up the wheels and return them Monday by 5 pm. I agreed to the price and scheduled the pick up. I when called my customer, Oakland Cadillac and told them the car would be ready by 5pm Monday. 30 minutes later Ed calls me back and says that price was just an estimate and he need to see the wheels. I explained to him that the price had been quote already to my customer, and Done Right Auto Spa ( my company does not change the price once quoted) he said no problem, he had a "tech" in the area who would pickup the wheels in an hour.
The "tech" and his wife show to in a two seater car look at the wheels and say, NO PROBLEM $125 per wheel. He says he is the owner and Ed is just the delivery guy, and Ed will pick up the wheels Monday morning.
Monday Ed picks them up and says again they will be back by 5pm TODAY. At 4:36pm ( with dealership and new car owner waiting) someone calls and says, "We can't do it". WHAT THE @#$! why I ask, "well our machine can't do it , and I think the price was miss quoted, he explained the OWNER IS NOT SUPPOSED TO QUOTE PRICES" Now I look like and idiot for using them, the dealer looks like an idiot for using me. So the manager of Oakland Cadillac Speaks to the guy directly and asks, "what can you do", the guy says he can polish the face of the wheel and paint the window or openings."Can you have them HERE by 12:00 noon tomorrow". The guy say yes NO PROBLEM. At 12:45 the next day after repeated calls and no answer, I drive to San Francisco with the General Manager of Cadillac. Upon arrival we find the wheel untouched with a note attached which says "return can not do" the guy we spoke to the day before on the phone, who promised to have the wheels complete working on the phone system alone and no workers. Again we ask what the @!#!. He says Ed has supposed to pickup the wheels last night and complete them and he didn't show up. We asked to speak we the owner, " he is on vacation and I don't have his number, sorry".
PEOPLE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, we normally use Rite wheel in Walnut Creek but they were to busy to do right away.

Ok guys, I have had many wheels repaired in my time. This company overpromised and totally underdelivered!!! Took them 5 months to get 2 three pieced wheels fixed and rechromed. Then one of them started peeling a day later, then back to the shop for another 8 month!!! Just picked up the wheel today and they tried giving me a wrong centercap!!! WTF, I am in the automotive business and will be contacting the local general managers to boycott this spot! They are overpriced and service is crap. If you need to get your wheel fixed contact wheels technique in fremont. If you have any more questions you can message me!

Welp, I did it again. I won't get into the sordid details, but I needed some repair work done on one of my rims. I drove down after work, and, although they already had two other cars in the garage, they were able to take my car in on the spot. It was around 3pm, and I went for a nice walk around SOMA and got something to eat at HRD Cafe, which warrants a separate review, and a little more than and hour and a half later, my car was done once again. This is the first day, but from all indications, they did just as good of a job as the first time, which I haven't had an ounce of problems with (knock on wood). These guys are the best. Thanks to Steve and Sonny!

okay being the genius I am, I managed to ram my new car into a curb...no no not just parking...DRIVING! yes all you sunset people know that lovely turn on 19th ave before park presidio...mhm yes. so the bf yells the living crap out of me and I'm like shit shit shit my car...I'm gona cry.
I was butthurt about it allll night..until my friend at 3d audio told me to come here since the guy dropped off a couple of business cards there before. I called them up the next day and they gave me a quote. I brought it in right after I hung up and they told me itd be ready in a couple of hours.
I asked them how the whole process works and he told me they have a machine that does it and then they repaint it, on site. also, they're able to fix curb rash without taking the whole wheel off. I was like cool okay sounds legit..I wasn't gona let my baby go just anywhere.
so I brought it in, filled out paper work, explained my embarrassing situation..we laughed yada yada yada... about an hour or so later they gave me a call and said it was ready... so I went down there to pick it up...apparently one rim was way too damaged to they had to charge like 25 dollars extra...no biggie...it was done! couple bills later...my car was sexy again...wooo! I was so excited...I went in to take a look and was verrrrry pleased. they did such a good job! I highly recommend this place to my fellow lady drivers out there. ohh also, they told me bmw sends their cars there all the time to get fixed...so that was reassuring.
anyways...be careful people... little accidents like that happen.
b.t.w....I'm not a bad driver! =) -

Stay away. This place is run by a few kids who have no business ethics. They will do some minimal cosmetic repairs to pass your quick inspection. Way over charges too. I paid dearly. Won't be coming back. in retrospect it would been cheaper just to buy new wheels.
They told me come for pick up after two oclock. I went there 2:10. Nobody was there. Next day they didnt even apologize. -

Joey and his team fixed the wheels of my company's luxury cars for over 3 years with consistent high quality and service. They do a fantastic job every time on any type of wheel in a short turnaround time. The type of wheels they repaired for my former employer were, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, Aston Martin, BMW, Porsche, etc. Highly recommended.

Had them work on my 19 BMW wheel, one had a minor curb rash. I tried another well known shop in San Jose(TWT), can't compare to Advanced Wheel. The wheel looked new again without the rash. They do awesome work and don't make you wait like 2 weeks and shave off metal from your rims as I have found from previous experience from others. Advanced Wheel does a great job in color matching with repair in a few hours. I was very happy with the outcome and the turnaround. Got it in by 11 out by 3, make sure to make an appointment they are busy. All I see are BMW's and Mercedes at this place so they work on nice cars. I was doubtful at first and surprised on their patented tool that allows the wheel to be worked on while on the car. There price is reasonable and if your nice enough they might hook you up...LOL Ray is who I was working with and recommend. Driving from Fremont to SF to have these guys work on it was well worth it, thanks Advanced Wheel!!!!!

wow, i just got back from there. friend of mine who apparently has 0 driving skills (given the cars he drives i thought he'd be able to take care of one) scraped up my front rim on my 2 week old A4.
Advanced wheel repair gets its done in under 2 hours while i'm wandering around the westfield. I cant even tell , its like brand new and i'm happy. Wasnt the cheapest, but given the special color on this rim etc, and the fact i'm happy 5 stars! -

Yesterday was the 2nd time we had brought a car to Advanced due to curb rash and both times the rims looked as good as new. The leasing company is happy and I am happy. I dealt with Steve and would recommend Advanced Wheel.

I took my car in today to have two of the passenger side rims repaired from curb rash. My husband managed to run my rims along a curb at the Home Depot this weekend before I can even make my first payment on it. They did a fantastic job and no one would even know that they suffered a curbside bashing. I think I like my car again! I give them four stars ONLY because they take cash only. Not a big deal, but for some of us that may not have the cash right away, it might be a dilemma. Otherwise, thumbs up across the board! I dropped it off this morning and picked it up this afternoon.

these guys were honest enough to tell me about a cheaper way to get my wheel fixed (buy a new one rather than gamble with it actually being bent back into shape, which was fairly unlikely...). awesome! and when this new wheel arrives at their shop, I'll head down to have the tire put on it. all in all it's saving me about $50. hooRAY for THAT!
