I went here last year for stitches  after cutting myself with a chainsaw (Not as bad as it sounds). I first went to the local hospital's  ER but they were packed. The nurse suggested I go to the Immediate Care (minor injury clinic) down the street which the hospital owned. I went to this place, opened the creaky front door, and knew I was in for a treat!

I was registered by a person that I'm fairly certain was the offspring of a incestuous relationship gone awry (Does incest really go any other way?). Half-hour later, I was taken back to a dirty room by a person in scrubs that could have cared less if I was cut or partially decapitated. A doctor came in briefly to check the wound, muttered something non-English, looked in my eyes, and walked out of the room. I sat for a half hour before realizing I could use my Blackberry to search for other clinics. I found Advanced Urgent Care' address and, literally, jumped out the window of the exam room!

I got to Advanced Urgent Care (which looked like the interior decorater for  of Starbucks decorated it), told the receptionist what happened, AND WAS IMMEDIATELY TAKEN BACK BY A VERY NICE, COMPASSIONATE RN. The well-dressed, smiling doctor came in (while the receptionist was taking my insurance info in the room), introduced himself, checked the wound, and told me what my options were (which were quite limited!). The nurse and doctor fixed me up, together. One thing I noticed was I was not left alone in the room for more than a minute. The staff is very attentive to the patient. The place is apparently state-of-the-art, too. They can do some blood tests in-house, x-rays, and even CT scans!

I have no idea how a poorly-run clinic like the one owned by the hospital can stay in business when Advanced Urgent Care is, by far, a superior practice.

Look, no "walk in" place is going to earn 5 stars.  You're hurt, you're sick .... who can meet whatever expectations you have for great care?   Well, this place comes as close as I've seen.   For myself or my kids, when it's after-hours for the usual doctor or a so-called emergency, we drive 20 minutes to go here rather than go to the clinic only a few minutes from home.   It's that much better.   From the reception desk to the physicians, Adv Urg Care has been "better enough" that I've even recommended it to neighbors.
