This is the best moving company I have used and I have used many. Every appointment was kept and on time (if not a bit early). And the final price was less than the estimate. On the day of the move, the movers were quick and careful. Hats off!

I hired AMC with a quick phone to Jim. He was very helpful and thorough on the phone and got back right away to confirm everything.
The crew showed up right on time; was very professional and did a fantastic job. Nice guys too.
Would definitely use them again. Highly recommended! -

Believe all the 5 star reviews folks. This moving company is wonderful. The guys showed up on time and were nothing but professional and friendly. They worked around the obnoxiously tight stairwell and entry way at our new place with ease. Highly recommend.

Advanced Moving Company is fast, friendly and professional.
I recently hired them to move from Sunnyvale to San Mateo. They arrived on time, took great care, not only with our household items, but with the carpeting and walls in the house we were vacating.
The total cost came in under the original estimate which is a first for my moving experiences. To be fair, we tried to make things as easy on them as possible by consolidating items in the living room and breaking down furniture ourselves.
Jim and his movers are a friendly group and I will be hiring them again for any future moves. -

It has taken me way too long to write this review, but if you need movers this is your place. These guys are first class!
Like someone has mentioned before do not get confused with a company that has a similar name than them in San Jose, it's not the same company.
I called Advanced Moving Company when we moved this past summer. I talked to the owner who gave me a quote and we planned a time and date for them to come. They were right on time. He came with a couple of guys and they got to work. My husband was super impressed with their work ethic and how friendly they were. They took really good care of our things, gave us suggestions on how to keep our hard wood floors in good condition, and were completely professional. I can not thank them enough for what a great job they did.
So call them! You won't be disappointed! -

With a week to go and no clue where to begin, I went to my trusty Yelp looking for movers and this company stood out with it's stellar reviews. And what can I say - no disappointment whatsoever. 5 Stars through and through.
I booked over the phone with Jim and the movers came on time, did such a speedy jobs, called my filled to the brim boxes "LIGHT" and merrily did their job. No idling or no fooling around - just worked non-stop till the job was done. They took less time than I anticipated and I can actually feel excited about unpacking - since things are placed where they belong.
Great job - a BIG thank you from us and we will heartily recommend next time to anyone who asks us. -

I love these guys! I recently moved to a three story house in Scotts Valley and Advanced Moving managed to haul my belongings up a spiral staircase! Nice group of movers who were efficent and careful with the furniture, boxes and new house.

Based on several stellar reviews from co-workers, I hired Advanced Moving for a short move from Los Gatos to San Jose. Jim came out and gave an estimate and we scheduled the move for the next week. The guys did a great job. They were all very friendly and eager to please, making sure to put everything just where I wanted it. All of our stuff arrived in the same condition it started. Advanced Moving took a lot of the stress out of our moving experience.

I recently used this company to move and Jim made everything go smoothly. He came out to my house and to the house we were moving to, in order to check all materials needed and expect before the move. He gave me all the information I needed and gave me all the costs up front. They even knew exactly how many wardrobe boxes I needed. They had everything down to a science. They plastic wrapped my couches and bagged my mattresses. They used furniture pads on everything. They put mats down on the floor in order to prevent stains or damage to the house. I would recommend them to my friends and family! Thanks Jim, Chris, and Rudy. You guys worked ten log hours and you were professional even until the end. Thank You !

These guys are awesome. I called Jim just 3 days before the moving date, he worked some magic and squeezed me into his tight schedule. The guys arrived on time and did a fantastic job. They are very fast and professional. Definitely made my move tons easier and fuss-free.

I was referred to Advanced Moving Company from a friend who had an excellent experience so I gave them a call to get a quote. Jim, the owner, called me back the next day to set up an appt to see our space and draft an estimate. We picked a date and we were good to go. On moving day, they showed up on time and ready to get started. It was raining that day so they were very careful in laying floor covering to protect the floors. His crew was courteous and very conscientious of our belonging. Everything went smoothly which was a relief. We highly recommend them!

Jim and two helpers did an amazing job for our recent move. Everything, from chairs to heavy dressers, was wrapped up nicely and made it to the new place without a single scratch. They took care of the walls, carpet, and overall were very professional. I will definitely contact them first for our next move. -

This past Saturday 12/5/09 Advanced Moving Company in Sunnyvale, CA helped my dad and I move from our apartment to a townhouse. I was extremely impressed. They were supposed to arrive at 8:30am and arrived just a few minutes before. They padded our apartment and padded each and every piece of furniture more then we expected. They loaded everything very quickly. They did a wonderful job and moved fast and even loaded faster then they had quoted. We then moved to the new townhouse and they did the same process. This time putting runners all over the house as to not walk and dirty the carpet. I was quite impressed to say the least. They moved items were they belonged and even took them upstairs and then back down when we changed out mind. In the end they finished about 1 hour early and took that off the price since when they finish early Jim (the owner) said we do not have to pay for what was quoted since it took less time. I was amazed beyond belief and at the end we paid by credit card and were done. Amazing!!! I recommend them to everyone!!!!

I've been incredibly lucky with my choice of moving companies and this experience was no exception, in fact it keeps getting better.
Jim is extremely professional, came by the house ahead of the move at the exact time stated to give an estimate and scout out the lay of the land.
His prices were very competitive and the move went without a hitch. His team were great (even moved some timber out of the garage in our new place to make more room for storage). Our move was a little more difficult that most as we were moving to a smaller place and a lot of our stuff was going to have to be stacked for storage as we're also renovating part of our new house. Jim and his team went beyond expectations by asking how and where to store items and making sure everything was accessible as possible.
Jim estimated that the move would take up to 1/1/2 days due to the extra work needed, but seeing how we were desperate to get everything done in a day (we have 2 x 2 month old children) his team worked from 7:30 am till 9pm at night to complete everything in one day. The whole time they were professional, friendly and helpful.
Jim allowed us to keep 14 wardrobe boxes at a small fee. As we returned 7 of these within a week (he came to the house to pick them up) he returned full payment for these boxes which I thought was incredibly generous. -

I compared three different movers for a recent local move. The others were cheaper, but Jim did a more thorough job of explaining what was needed and we had a higher level of confidence he could get the job done. We are really, really glad we picked Jim. The job was harder than we expected and his experience was essential for a successful move. Jim was involved throughout the entire move and it was a delight to work with him. He and his team were great (Chris, Chris, and Jose - thanks so much). Always professional, hard working, focused, and capable. It turned out to be a very long day and they worked just as hard at the end as at the beginning. They were prepared for every contingency which made the move go incredibly smooth. They made sure all the walls and floors were well protected, and left everything in perfect order. I highly recommend Advanced Moving for your move.

Professional, prompt, and very thoughtful. Everything was padded adequately, the pace was quick, and nothing was amiss. Jim is a very friendly, honest, and responsible person. From the initial quotation visit to the day of the move, he was always available by phone and always returned calls. Everything happened as quoted and it made for a very smooth and organized move out of the Bay Area. I would most certainly ask for his help again, and would recommend him to friends and family.

first off, this is the real Advanced moving company. they deserve a full five star rating from yelp, but they are still burdened by bad reviews from the company that stole their name. Jim Vaughn is the owner of the real company. We needed to move my mother in law accross town. she was concerned because she had several very old pieces of furniture, one quite large. jim came by and gave us an estimate. ( the estimate is based on time of a three man crew, minimum 3 hours.)
on moving day, jim and his crew of chris and rudy arrived on time. they took great care not to damage the furniture and the home by carefully wrapping everything. they were polite and thorough. the move went without a hitch, and the initial estimate was right on the mark. jim and the guys made a stressful day much less so. i would not hesitate to use advanced moving again, and can confidently recommend them to anyone.
