I suffer from lower back pain and after researching about the atlas orthogonal I decided to try the procedure, which Dr. Pinto specializes in. Consultation started out decent with X-rays, MRIs, the works which made me think he would be thorough. During my first visit, I finally got to meet and talk with Doctor Pinto. He starts the conversation with a "want to hear the good news bad news" routine, where he tells you the list of things that you have wrong, but then says "the good news is I can fix it".  He goes to talk about the symptoms you suffer from and what causes it, which all sound pretty believable, but also is common sense with a little bit of research. He then continues to blame the issues, in my case back pain, to other things like weight and vitamin deficiency and then goes on to say you need a weightloss and supplement program. This is a hidden cost as well by the way. The conversation goes on further, which at this point sounds a lot like a sleezy used car salesman pitch, trying to get you to buy a car He wouldn't even look at me in the eyes for the entire visit, which is probably due to fact that he knows he's lying and can't even put a straight face. He goes on to explain that this treatment needs one year, yes one year of treatment! This would include 3 times per week for a year! His explanation was because that is the typical time it takes for the atlas orthogonal to heal, however my research indicates that one to four visits would be sufficient.

So the procedure finally takes place, and it goes OK. I guess its only a 3 second procuedure, so he tries to make the visit longer by doing some other random Chiropractic adjustments that actually hurt more than cracking my spine. Since this was my first visit, I didn't have a payment plan, so after I met with doctor Pinto, I go on to speak with a woman, who has a payment plan with options all setup. At this point I'm thinking I can do this for a while. She then shows me the paper with the plan and price and I couldn't believe it! It costs roughly $9,300 for the year! This includes the atlas procedure, lower back therapy, and some supplements and diet plan. I'm stunned at this point. I continue to ask if I could pay monthly or per visit, and the answer was no. She goes on to say that Dr. Pinto works with a bank who can loan the money with 0% interest. She also seemed like a car salesperson as she again recapped why all this was necessary. It is very unfortunate that this doctor spends so much effort scamming people out of their money. I believe in natural healing of the body, and have no doubts that this procedure would work, but with shady salespeople like Dr. Pinto, I will be exploring other options instead of this crook.
