After ignoring a co-workers advice that I try this out... I finally did. I can say honestly that these treatments have changed my life. I have animals and would wheeze all the time, be short of breath and had to have a never-ending supply of kleenex on hand at all times. It affected my over-all well being in that I got sick a lot and would always have to get antibiotics. My self esteem also suffered as I was always short of breath - even when there was really no reason.
After just one treatment I saw a difference in how my body responded to my surroundings and as we continue to treat different allergies I feel better and better. I can draw in a deep full breathe with no wheezing and rarely blow my nose. It's really amazing and people have noticed.
I have recommended these treatments to so many people who suffer from allergies and sensitivities. I truly feel anybody wtih allergies should give this treatment a try!!! -

Let me first say that the people that work at AA are really nice and the general atmosphere is very pleasant. The therapists and consultants are sensitive, eager to explain their model and the overall experience is peaceful. They get a few stars for that.
That being said, from my perspective no matter how good their intentions seemingly are, no matter how nice they seem..... Their system hasn't helped my allergies and I'm out $150.
I knew the premise was far-fetched at the end of my treatment.... but you have to try everything once right? I'd really like to believe that there are legitimate alternative allergy remedies out there - and on the surface, their method seems logical enough....
I will explain the procedure and you be the judge:
1) Therapist asks allergy details -where you live, pets, foods, etc.
2) Therapist attaches an arm band, tells you that electrical signals will enter your body via the arm band. The electrical signals (which you cannot feel) are supposed to mimic various allergens.
3) Therapist holds your arm and instructs you to push downward with force at her command. (at each electrical signal stimuli)
4) Therapist monitors your arm force (with her hand) against any given electrical signal and notes any muscle fatique in relation to that particular signal
5) Therapist then tells you what allergens you body reacts to based on your muscle fatigue in relation to a given electrical impulse.
6) Therapist then reapplies the same corresponding electrical signal as she runs a small massager down your back / spinal area.
7) Therapist repeats the electrical signal/massage until a few of your allergies are "cured"
The idea is that if you can introduce an electrical signal that mimics an allergen to your body....then your body should react with momentary weakness. The weakness is measured by arm strength. Once the allergen is discovered then the "therapy" is simply to associate the "negative energy" that causes symtoms to a positive experience.. i.e. a quick massage of the spinal area.
The problems with this are many.... First, to my knowledge the technology to mimic molecules or substances of any kind via electrical impulses does not exist. Example: Chocolate is one of the allergens. Chocolate has hundreds of types of molecules. AA would have you believe that they have decoded chocolate and turned it into an electrical impulse that your body recognizes as chocolate. Same goes for various bacteria & spores.... amazingly they have been converted into simple electrical impulses.
Secondly, the therapist holding your arm while you try to pull away consecutively 40+ times.. leaves way too much room for human error.(The weakness of your arm is supposed to be barely perceptible). Also, your muscles tire after just a few repetitions...and who knows how consistent anyone can be at pulling with an exact certain force' dozens of time.
The bottom line for me is that my allergies would sooner be cured by magic spells or a voodoo doll. That being said, there are plenty of folks who are helped via psychosomatic therapies. Just a belief seems to help some people. AA says that they treat dogs and small children successfully. I seriously have my doubts about that. -

Malia at Advanced Allergy Solutions is a genius! She has accomplished what no doctor or prescription has been able to. I am finally able to eat foods that I have had to avoid for over 15 years.
I have had severe seasonal allergies my whole life and when I was in my late teens I also started to develop food allergies. Worst of all was my chicken allergy. Can you imagine not being able to eat chicken? By 21 I wasn't able to eat chicken, turkey, or any type of poultry. Every time I would ask my doctor about my chicken allergy they would tell me the same thing, "Well, don't eat chicken then."
After going over my history of allergies, Malia explained to me how our bodies can develop some food allergies from an abnormal reaction to stress. They are really onto something at AAS because I have been successfully eating chicken and turkey once again! It's like getting your life back after part of it has been missing for so long.
The best part is there are no prescriptions or up selling of any kind. I can't say enough good things about Advanced Allergy Solutions. Thank you so much! -

After a period of feeling worse, I just went back to the same state I was before the therapy .
I am back to acupuncture and Chinese herbs .
Sadly this therapy is not for me , however that does not mean it may not work for you . -

There are times when I'm reminded how much San Francisco rules. Discovering Advanced Allergy Solutions on Groupon was one such time.
Somewhere into the first season of Breaking Bad it hit me that all of the sudafed I was pumping into my body probably wasn't healthy. I'd never had hay fever until moving to the Bay Area so i decided to get it checked out. I'd also suspected for years that I had food allergies or sensitivities and opted for this over an elimination diet (brutal).
The first diagnostic appt at AAS blew my mind. After discussing my history and reason for coming in we jumped right into the treatment. Denise explained everything to me as we went and engaged me throughout the session. The whole process is extremely comfortable and easy. You're in street clothes the entire time with an arm band on. No skin pricks, no pain--you barely feel it. The whole process is actually relaxing, even pleasant. The practitioner tests you for a number of potential allergens, identifies the culprits and then you decide together based on your symptoms which one you want to treat.
I've been in twice and am scheduled for a third appointment this coming week. I had a handful of allergies and am looking forward to being rid of them all...and the nasty meds! You should go. -

I've waited for months to write this review, and this is why:
I moved to San Francisco from Hawaii in July of last year. I had allergies in Hawaii but they were manageable. As soon as I moved to SF I developed all sorts of symptoms: severe ear aches, difficulty breathing, discharge drainage, repeated sneezing, itchy eyes, and the list goes on and on...
So in the late winter when it was suddenly sunny and my allergies were at it's peak (I live btwn the Presidio and GGP) and I was once again missing a day at work, I sought out AAS. I am FIRM believer in seeking natural, homeopathic treatments first and drugs as a very last resort. I called AAS one morning, barely able to speak and Denise listened to me with compassion and gave me an appointment right away.
With my nose dripping and explained my situation and was hooked up to the computer to determine my allergies. While I knew I had allergies, it was amazing to pin point the exact allergies I had. I then received the initial treatment which was quick and painless.
Walking to catch MUNI from the treatment, I already began to feel some relief. I had one additional treatment days later which cleared all of my allergies. GONE!
Of course I told everyone I know about this amazing place. But I was hesitant to write a YELP review until I experienced Spring and Summer... and I have to say, I am STILL allergy free. I know dozens of people who are having severe allergic reactions to the changes in the environment, and I who had always had the worst reactions of all, am free of allergies. it's absolutely amazing.

Four years ago I had sudden onset of nasal allergies with flulike symptoms, nausea and extreme PND (post-nasal drip). It was pollen season. Traditional herbs kept recurrences at bay until this year, four years later.
After being off of work several days "sick", symptoms spreading and energy levels slowly draining, I was allergy free after THREE sessions at AAS. Pollens; Molds; Sugars: symptom free. I could have more sessions as I do test as "sensitive" to additional allergens. But I am so close to normal now I'm waiting until I really need it.
It has been a month since my last AAS treatment and I am symptom-free. Woo hoo!!!! Did I mention that the staff is a joy and the office is spotless? Love that. -

Got a groupon for a $65 Comprehensive Allergy Assessment and treatment of an allergen. I have allergies. What could it hurt? I am a skeptic at heart but a noninvasive holistic health that is admittedly unconventional?
First impression: really open and nice folks. The space is beautiful and welcoming. The screening process was unconventional indeed. I had what looked like a blood pressure cuff on one arm and the practitioner checked for a jerking response on the other as I was exposed to different allergens. Ok. Since I already knew some of the allergies, I wanted to see if she was right.
But first she treated me (I didn't realized that I was being treated for my one until afterwards. Darn. I would have picked a different allergen then sugar). She was right on all of my know allergies though. Then I became freakishly tired. I had to lay down again and it was explained to me that it happens with a sugar treatment. So I was having a actual physcial response.
I haven't gone back for more treatments so more obvious allergens like dust can't be observed but they get the rating for the great customer service and the allergy screening. -

Just had another treatment at the clinic with my favorite practitioner Denise. She is so knowledgeable and has truly changed my life. I'm able to eat ice cream and cheese and not have to suffer the consequences. I've also seen Christy, and she was amazing as well. I won't lie, I've had to go in for more than 5 visits, but each visit built on the previous visit, eliminating my issues with sugar, wheat, yeast, and milk. Denise even did a treatment for Alcohol ,and I didn't turn my usual bright red when I had a glass of wine. Just a lighter shade of pink. I just feel so much better now. I've had three other friends go to the clinic and they have all said the same thing. It has changed their lives. Thank you!!

I just learned of this technique and called Denise to ask a bunch of questions. She was super knowledgeable, kind and helpful! I'm working on the financial piece of this puzzle so I haven't gone in to see her yet but from our phone conversation, I can tell that she deserves 5 stars!

I also waited to write my review, only because I didn't know how to put into words what is still unbelievable to me. I have had allergies my whole life. As I have gotten older, they had only gotten worse. Moving to SF seemed to put them over the edge. I had topical allergies, food allergies and worst yet, inhalants. The residual issues had me using topical steroids for rashes; prescription and over-the-counter sinus remedies, rinses and spray steroids for sinus and lung issues; and preparing only a limited number of food items for fear of another allergy attack. My doctor was wanting to schedule sinus surgery and that was when I found Advanced Allergy Solutions. What I like to tell people is that unlike other allergy "treatments" they do not just diagnose extremely accurately your allergies, THEY ACTUALLY CURE YOU OF THEM.
I have now travelled to Seattle and South Carolina to visit family. I have always returned from these visits sick due to mold, mildew, dogs, cats, pollens, dust mites, etc. This time was VERY different. I did not even bother to pack an antihistamine, and I didn't need one... not once. I breathed clear and free the entire time. I got bit my mosquitoes and spiders, and yet did not flare up or end up with welts. I played with the children and pets and never even sneezed! This treatment program is nothing less than miraculous and should be the first line of defense for anyone suffering from allergies. Just understand that you will need to find something else to put in that drawer that you will empty of all the pills, creams and treatments that you won't need anymore. I believe so strongly in this that I bought a session for a client of mine because he and his children suffer almost as badly as I did!
Five stars are not enough! I tell people about Denise and her group of miracle workers all the time, and never have I got anything but positive feedback. Really. Thanks AASC, I have a real life now thanks to you. -

So glad today is Allergy Solutions Day!!
Denise has helped me soooo much.
Without going into great detail, I have had problems with my digestion for years. I never would have thought getting an allergy treatment would help with that.
But this is such a different and unique way of treating allergies, it really worked!!
I had no idea I was living in such discomfort.
So I took my son and his echzema is 90% better and has only had two treatments!
5 stars and a big thanks! -

I've had allergies all my life and was always told that it can't be cured. I've been told to take Benadryl if it gets bad enough, but it would make me a little drowsy and it didn't always work. Just the fact that I live in SF
I guess I would just have to live with it. .....But maybe not. I discovered a new clinic on Oak St-Advanced Allergy Solutions. Since nothing else have ever really worked, I thought I would just go in for a consultation. They seemed very professional and explained in detail all they would do and the magical thing about it was that it involved no medications and it was non-invasive. They said also that they would be able to cure my seasonal allergies, too, in just a couple of sessions. I've already tried one session and I seem to feel a whole lot better. If you have allergies, this is the place to go. -

Denise is the best!!! I went for an evaluation for myself and my son, and was impressed that using her non-invasive and holistic testing, she was able to get pretty much identical results to what we'd found on more expensive (and invasive) blood testing on the food allergens. Based on the accuracy with the foods, I felt good about her results on the other factors (environmentals, hormones, etc.). The treatments are very gentle and amazingly effective! I definitely feel a shift at the time of the treatment, but more importantly, I notice a big difference in how my body reacts (or NOT) when faced with the offending substance. My son LOVES that there are no needles etc. involved and that it feels good. (And he is noticeably less reactive -- physically and behaviorally -- to the things he's been treated for by Denise.) I have experienced MANY different holistic modalities, and what I have found is that they work way better in the hands of a skilled practitioner. Denise is definitely a top-notch practitioner in this field. If you have allergies (and pretty much everyone does), you should check her out!

I agree with all of these other glowing reviews...I think that Denise practices some sort of magic. She and the others that work at AAS are smart, interesting and seem to be geniunely nice people.
But, above all, the treatments provided relief I didn't think was possible without invasive treatment or prescription drugs. -

Advanced Allergy Solutions has CHANGED MY LIFE!!! I have been suffering with allergies for years. It was to the point that I felt ill all the time and had completely stop eating a number of foods that I enjoyed to avoid getting dermatitis and eczema frequently on my neck and eyes. Before going to Advanced Allergy Solutions I tried just about everything and was desperate for something that actually worked.
THIS WORKS!!!
From the moment you walk in the door you feel welcome. The staff is warm and friendly and they take the time to explain the treatment and customize it to your needs. It's really very casual, quick, non-invasive and I usually notice results within hours of being treated. I have had about 12 treatments ranging from food allergies (sugars, coffee, yeast, etc) to cats to airborne pollutants (dust, mold). I can actually hang out with my brother's cat now without my throat closing up, eyes itching and being completely lethargic from benadryl! Now I am able to enjoy foods that I had previously cut out of my diet and my eczema has gone away! The congestion and sinus issues I had have decreased tremendously. There are still a number of treatments that I can do and am looking forward to getting them done! I have been treated by Denise and Christy who were both awesome. I can honestly say I would go to any of the staff there.
If you suffer from allergies this is a MUST DO! Stop suppressing the symptoms and get treated once and for all!!!! -

I cannot sing enough praise to Denise and everyone at Advanced Allergy Solutions! Before I started the non-invasive and quick treatments, I was allergic to just about everything. Now, I can breathe clearly for the first time in my life!
A month ago, I would walk onto a golf course and be miserable by the first green if I didn't load up on allergy drugs that either made me sleepy or jittery. After one easy treatment for grass allergies, I went from not sitting on the grass because it made me feel horrible, to rolling around in the grass and shoving it up my nose - and it doesn't phase me!
A week ago, I wouldn't go outside in the mountains this time of year, or anytime the yellow pollen dust was out. My nose was a non-stop-dripping-sniffle-snot factory. All of the allergy meds in the world couldn't make me feel normal. The day after I had a relaxing (and actually fun) treatment for pollens, I could walk through a yellow cloud and breathe just as deeply and clearly as if I was on an oxygen tank. And no sneezing, sniffling, head congestion, or itchy-watery eyes -- It is amazing!

Denise and Mick are miracle workers! I have suffered from allergies for 20+ years, have been to a number of "traditional" allergists, and with no relief. For the first time ever, all of my allergies were diagnosed, and we have begun clearing them with weekly visits. We've cleared about half of them, and I already feel significant improvement! I am so hopeful that they all will be cleared soon, and I will have all that energy and time back for useful purposes! This is an alternative therapy that will not be shared with you in 'mainstream' medicine, but it WORKS, and that's what counts!
