    Today, I called ADT because I have ebilling and I am no longer receiving paper statements or even an email.

    The person I spoke with sounded like an unfriendly robot. She said she'd stop my ebilling and I would start getting paper statements. Ok, fine. Thank you.

    Two minutes later I get this auto. email : "Thank you! You have just added an account to your http://adt.com online billing portfolio."

    When I called ADT again to find out what that meant, I was told that it's a generic email because I had made a change on my account. Why send a generic email that does not address the change that was made and creat confusion with the customer?

    Their website is also very confusing. I have to log out of billpay to get back to my account.
    I really would like to have ebilling AND get my statements in the mail or in an email. Apparently, it's not something ADT wants to provide.

    HORRIBLE
    HORRRRRRRRIBLE
    CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!

    We've been their customer for exactly one year now..
    half of that one year we didn't even get to use it
    because the sensors went stupid and fell off (WTF?)
    and when we called them about it
    all they said was "use double sided tape and put it back on"
    FREAKIN' AYE!

    ONCE, our alarms went off FOR NO REASON,
    the POLICE came and we were charged for this.

    So we called them to cancel back in May 2011...
    and the representative tells us that our contract ends in November 2011
    and we will be charged a cancellation fee...
    so we tell her we'll call back in November.

    November comes around and we call..
    and the representative tells us that our contract has been extended another year!
    WTF?!
    The contract renews every year IF WE DON'T CONTACT THEM..
    so we're stuck with them for another friggin' year!
    And the other representative we spoke to back in May didn't mention ANYthing like this.

    We had to argue with them..
    and the stupid representative we spoke to kept saying
    "it's in your contract"
    and didn't bother doing anything for us even after
    we've explained our situation..
    WE ARE NOT GOING TO PAY FOR SOMETHING WE ARE NOT USING!!!
    We finally got their "billing supervisor" or whatever on the phone
    and she helped us with cancellation.

    ADT needs to TRAIN their workers...
    seriously...
    they all have serious attitude problems..
    and are not helpful AT ALL.

    ARGGGGGGGGGGGG

    An ADT worker who was inside his vehicle parked, was simply asked " I'm sorry sir, do you happen to be leaving since your inside your car so I can park there? " got out of the car furiously with vicious attitude and vulgar language " what the F is your problem man, does it look like I'm leaving, stop trying to hassle and get the F out " This is highly unacceptable, to think someone who works at a security services, they would surly teach their workers to have the slightest bit of manners and better attitude when talking to people. I did not get this mans name since he refused to give it to me, but I wrote down his vehicle information for this report.

    Don't EVER use this company.  It costs much more than $99 to install the system, you will never get the $100 rebate card and in less than six months, all of my sensors have started to fail - causing the alarm to go off for no reason (usually at 2am - scaring me to death).  It is impossible to get anyone to come out to fix the system and their customer service is a misnomer.  They really could not care less whether their service works or not.  They contract all the work out and take no responsibility for its quality, so it's a crap shoot whether you get someone who knows what they are doing or not.  Save yourself the hassle, money and most of all time and find another security service.  FYI - I think they own Brinks and Broadview, so I wouldn't bother with them either.

    I wish I had read these reviews before I spent so much money on the system.  Do yourself a favor and take a pass on ADT.

    They have the worst customer service ever.  I have been a customer for almost 2 years and recently moved.  Every time I call, no one seems to know anything about my account.  I spent almost an hour on the phone with them setting up an appointment for service in my new house.  Even though I am a previous customer, they insist on opening a new account so they could charge more.  Then, when the scheduled appointment time came, they refused to install the system since I wasn't home, even though my husband, the property owner and the mortgage payer, was home.  Of course they didn't mention on the 45 minute phone call that the person setting up the appointment had to be home, not a spouse.

    They haven't bothered to call back and reschedule the appointment, they don't need the business since they have a monopoly on home security.  I am going with a family-owned local company now.  Do some research about other companies and avoid this one!

    I cancelled this company from installing a system last night when they tried to send a subcontractor to do the work.  Forget that!  Thank god I found and read all your reviews.  I want a system ASAP since my house was just robbed, but I refuse to get tied up with them.  I saw all the red flags when I spoke with 3 different people over several days and they all had different quotes, info and refused to send me a copy of the contract to read.  I'm not signing a financial document that carries a 3 year committment without the chance to read it before installation occurs!  I'm AVOIDING this company!!!

    Do NOT trust ADT!

    ADT promised me, as part of the starter package, a $100 visa gift card post system installation. However, they never send it to me. I called them 2 weeks after the system was installed, I was promised that the gift card would arrive in 6 weeks. I called them 2 months later, was again promised that the gift card was on its way. Now it's been over 4 months, i still have not received it. I'm going to cancel my contract. ADT is a large company but unfortunately not trust-worthy!

    Do not trust ADT!!!
    I too, was promised a gift card for in the amount of the activation fee post installation and never received it. I was also promised a second keychain activator then was charged for it!!!! The system is also malfunctioning and the service reps thus far have been unable to help me. Do not go with this company. There are plenty of other reputable, trustworthy companies to do business with.

    Horrible company to do business with....they insisted I write a check for $99 to get the system installed (they would not accept a credit card or cash) then they used the check to set up auto debit on my checking account without my permission...and the whole thing about getting a $100 gift card is a sham.....terrible company....not even sure if my alarm works....guess I should test it before I get broken into...used to use San Marino Alarm at my old house..they were much more expensive to install but at least their system worked and they did not try to rip me off...stay away from ADT.

    Perhaps I am having a unique experience.  But, in any case I am very dissapointed with the customer service.  I have pets, but a motion detector was the most efficient way of providing coverage in my house.  They claim the motion detector will not be triggered by anything less than 80lbs.  If you add all my pets together, I have about 45lbs worth of "pet".  However, i've had 3 false alarms all related to the motion detector.  I'm sure there's the remote possibility somebody over 80lbs materialized in my living room and triggered the alarm, then disappeared before I got home.  But, I'm going to go with it being my pets that set the alarm off.  ADT has been "puzzling" over this for almost 2 months now while I go on paying their monthly bills on a "partially" protected home.  You would have to bust through the front or back door, or one of the 4 out of 15 windows that are monitored.  The odds are not in my favor here.  Everybody is "sorry", but nobody is actually getting this done.  All they have done so far is replace the motion detector thinking that would fix it.  It didn't.  Now they want to just move it.  Guess that makes sense when it's my problem - when I have to set my personal time aside for them to come during a "window" of time (now they want me to take off work too to wait around for them), when I get the "an intruder is in your home" call (by the way, there's other ways to phrase this - like "your alarm has been triggered"), and when i'm the one that has to manage their "manager" to keep him moving so we can all move on with our lives.  God forbid the time that we get a "false" alarm only to come home and find out it was real.  But, how can we tell the difference anymore?  Now i'm doubting whether I will actually have "peace of mind" as they sell you on - so easily rolling off their tongue.  Good luck getting a hold of anybody higher up the food chain to solve your problem.  They are probably too busy putting out the "fires" that are in line ahead of mine.  Maybe the other ADT offices are better?  That can happen sometimes.  But, I cant tell you how relieved I am that I didn't give into that persistent salesman's pleas to give him referrals.  In a nutshell, feeling pretty trapped into this now, cheated, and clearly dissapointed.  I'll be happy to change my review if they step up and compensate me for this nightmare, but as of now I am doubting that will happen.  I hope you all have better luck......
