I hadn't ridden a bike for 50 years and I ran into some online blurbs about Dahon folding bikes.  That should be the right bike for me...if I get tired I'll just fold it up and throw the bike in the back of the car.  My local Dahon dealer turned out to be ADT in Richmond Hill, NY.  I was wondering how I'd be treated by ADT and I was (more than) pleasantly surprised.  Russell helped me select the right model...he's a pro who can appreciate the concerns of an amateur and knows how to answer questions at just the right level.  The crew includes Jose and Mike, guys easy to deal with.

As for the Dahon Speed D7, it fulfills all advertised features.  The only change I made was installing a more comfortable seat, the kind with springs.  Did I make any mistakes?  Yes, I shouldn't have waited 50 years.

I needed to get a new all-purpose/park bike for downhill/freeride/all-mountain riding.  Money's tight nowadays and I couldn't afford to buy a frame/shock and then build from the ground up like I have in the past so I knew I needed to find a straight-ahead full bike to purchase with a very high performance-to-price ratio.  I'd heard good things about ADT, and I dealt with Russell quite a bit over the phone and in person to figure out optimal bike/parts choices and to test ride bikes.  Not only is he extremely patient and knowledgeable, but he's also a people person who is very good at listening and processing information.  This is important to me as a very experienced rider with a long history of doing my own modifications - I have my own specific ideas about bike setup and it can be frustrating to communicate with a shop person who can't deal with another expert.  Not Russ - we put our heads together and, with some questions about my previous bike setups, style of riding and functional intent with this new rig, ended up with a great bike choice to fit my needs and a short list of modifications to completely dial that sucker in (and I mean a *short* list because the bike choice was so suitable to begin with).  The whole thing came together at a very reasonable price, and he worked a few deals on the modifications because of the larger purchase I was making.
I've been beating the tar out of this rig up at Diablo this season and I know I made a great choice with ADT (and this bike!).

    Thanks Russel!
