One of the BEST staycations yet!  Adrift Hotel, you're at the top of my list of hotels to go back to.

I'm always looking for a good getaway deal on groupon, livingsocial, etc. and luckily I caught the deal on livingsocial a few months ago.  The deal was pretty darn sweet and too good to be true (especially for the price) so lets just say I was VERY skeptical about how this trip would pan out.

    The $109 livingsocial deal included:
-2 nights stay in a basic queen room
-Breakfast basket delivered to room daily
-Handmade Wood-Fired Pizza from the On-Site Scapece Restaurant & Aperitivo Bar
-Four Pack of Fort George Beer and a Six-Pack of Artisan Chocolates

**We decided to upgrade our room to an Ocean View Suite for an extra $30/night and it was well worth the money!  Our suite was HUGE!!!  There were 2 rooms-living room and bedroom enough to sleep 6 people comfortably.  (pics posted)  Flat screen TV's in each room w/ DVD players, microwave, mini fridge & freezer, ipod docking station, complimentary wireless internet and a comfy plush king bed made our stay enjoyable.

I really appreciate their focus on value and sustainability, and while I was there I saw the continuous flow of it throughout the hotel.  The staff were great and very attentive to us from when we checked in, to borrowing the bike cruisers and until we left the hotel.  Just the calm and laid back atmosphere of the staff was so much better than the snooty-nose-up-in-the-air type of hotels you would find elsewhere.

While you're staying at Adrift...make sure you take advantage of all the things that the hotel has to offer:
-beach cruiser bikes to ride around town or on the discovery trail (2 hour max use so others can have a chance to play)
    -movies and games
-organic coffee, tea and filtered fruit water in the lobby 24/7
    -wireless internet
    -EO organic bath products

I highly recommend this hotel for anyone traveling to this area.  The beach is literally a 2 minute walk away--you can't get any closer than that!  I'll definitely be back for another mini staycation soon!

I'm a bit of a homebody, but  I do like to get out and explore a little bit, and was very excited, after finding this Living Social deal to Adrift Hotel in Long Beach, WA, to head there for two nights over Mother's Day weekend.

Usually after two nights, I'm ready to go home.  Not this time.  I am already mentally planning our next family trip there, and am even fantasizing about my own solo getaway at some point this summer.

In reading other reviews, I notice the majority of the gripes deal with noise level in the rooms...I think (assume) management must read these reviews, as I was amused to find ear plugs on the nightstand when we walked into our room.  I didn't use them, I heard very little noise, only the typical hotel sounds of people walking above, or chatting in the hall.  I did hear a few dogs bark in the hallway, as this place is extremely welcoming to dogs (there are even dog cookies at the front desk). Hotel sounds are a comfort to me, to be honest.  They make me feel like I don't have to bend over backwards to be too quiet (especially due to the fact that we brought our five-year-old son with us).  I appreciated the fact that there was a 'noise curfew' in the mini-lounge on our level. A rustic carved sign on the wall read "Quiet time: 9pm - 9am." It was like a friendly sticky note from your mom reminding you that 'people are trying to sleep for God's sake!'

Like the friendly 'quiet time' reminder, a lot in this place rides on the honor system.  I love that about Adrift.  A nice library of DVDs in the lobby are available for 'check-out,' games too.  And a fleet of cruisers that you can check out for free for two hours at a time afforded me two fantastic 8-mile long bike-rides along the pacific ocean.

Oh yeah, that.  The OCEAN.  One reviewer below complained that her room over-looked 'first the parking lot, THEN the ocean.'  I'm not sure how close to the ocean she wanted to be, but I can't imagine getting much closer...and we were in one of the rooms furthest east.  It was a beautiful view, plus our car was very accessible. Win win.  Literally, if you walk out the door of the office and turn left...you're stepping in sand.  Turn right, there's your car.

Service: fantastic.  Every single person we came in contact with was warm and welcoming and acted like we were their only guests.  We got an amazing picnic breakfast in a cute brown lunch bag delivered to our door in the morning (I'm *pretty* sure this was part of our Living Social deal and probably usually costs extra) with fresh-baked scones (the ones this morning were AMAZING -- ginger bits and chocolate chips), fresh fruit, what tasted like fresh-squeezed orange juice in cute mason jars, yogurt...and there is organic coffee in the lobby available, complimentary, all day long, as well as a giant glass decanter of water with orange slices.  So refreshing, especially after spending the day on the hot, salty beach.

The lobby is comfortable enough that, if you get sick of being in your room or being with your travel companion, you could hang out there, play cards, read a book, whatever. It also has a little shop shelf/area where you can purchase nice wines and hand-crafted beers for a reasonable price -- really.  As low as $10 for very nice wines, and local(-ish) ales for as low as $2.75/can or /bottle.  Nice cheese and snacks too...just in case you didn't pack enough.  There was a little fridge in our room that was perfect for keeping our midnight snacking fresh.

Additionally, you can purchase the incredible amenities they offer in the rooms in the lobby.  Being a 'green' hotel, they save you from bad karma by not offering the arsenal of little plastic bottles of amenities...they use refillable bottles of lotion, shampoo, bath gel, etc...and the products are incredible.  I bought my mom some of the French Lavendar Bubble Bath as a thank you for watching our place while we were gone.

One more thing...since they ARE a 'green' operation, your house-keeping will not be along the same lines as a La Quinta or whatever.  Unless you throw your used towels on the ground, they let you keep the same towels.  They didn't change our sheets, but they did make the bed.  I am totally down with this...it makes me feel more at home, and like I'm at an establishment that cares about the environment. Along those lines, a reviewer below complained about 'old, yellowed lightswitch plates.' In renovating the hotel, they re-used what they could and recycled materials.  Bravo to them.  I think I can deal with yellowed lightswitch plates in the name of not wasting good materials.

This is an incredible, peaceful place with not only good intentions, but good heart and soul, and I can't wait to go back.  The new restaurant, Scapece, is fantastic too...the same warmth and welcome and attention to detail that runs throughout the establishment. When I do head back there, and I will, I will check out their Spa.

I almost cried when I was asked to plan my company's annual weekend retreat this year. Mission: to find a place within 2-3 hours of Portland where up to 50 people could eat, drink and be merry most of the time, work in a conference space all day, and by the way, can they bring their dogs? Don't forget three square meals a day, and here's a magnifying glass- you're going to need it to see the budget. I put out the S.O.S. to Facebook, and was skeptical when my friend replied with "I've got the perfect place."

But it was. Perfect. I cannot stop singing Adrift's praises. They worked with me every step of the way to ensure we had a smooth retreat. The rooms were clean and modern with a beach-y feel, they had boutique toiletries available for use, and my bed was super comfortable. The only drawback to the entire weekend was what most of the other reviewers are saying- thin walls with most likely little to no insulation, so sounds are pretty amplified. I was above the lobby, and got to hear some early morning conversations. I can certainly understand how something like this would bother people, but I didn't find it to be so bad. I was barely in my room the entire weekend.

The staff at Adrift offer top notch customer service. They went above and beyond our every request- when I asked if there was a blank wall in the conference room to project on, they built us a projector screen and hung curtains over the windows. It's the little things that really made this trip stand out for me- dog cookies (and human candies) at the front desk. Coffee in the lobby, and in our conference room throughout the day. Extra towels to dry the dogs off. DVDs and games available in the lobby. Games like foosball and shuffleboard in the "mini" lobbies on each floor. And the cruiser bikes!

It was also the little details that I think make the space so aesthetically perfect, especially for a group of design minded folks- round metal key chains with the room number stamped on it. Mason jars filled with cotton balls and q-tips. Interesting flat fireplaces in the lobby and restaurant bar. iPod docking stations in the rooms. Funky light fixtures. Adrift would make the most beautiful Pinterest board, and I'm regretting now that I didn't take better photos.

Adrift is centrally located in Long Beach, just down the road from horseback riding and go-karts. They're just off the main drag with lots of little shops and restaurants, and not 50 yards from the entrance to the beach. The 8+ mile Discovery trail is perfect for a walk or bike ride, and there are garbage cans placed strategically along the path (fellow dog owners know how important this is!) I wish I had booked myself for another day after the retreat, so I could explore without having to worry about work.

Highly recommend Adrift for everyone- families, couples, groups of friends or business groups. I'm already wondering when I can get back.

I stayed at adrift as part of a living social deal- and I'll be honest, I had anticipated a higher standard than I saw.

I'm not much of a traveler, so when I spend money on a hotel room, I expect the best- especially if it is a "boutique" hotel. At Adrift, the staff was friendly, and yes, they do have cool perks like free bikes and organic snacks in the lobby.
I however, was disappointed that I had paid for an oceanfront view room (I had upgraded from the deal to get it), but our room overlooked first the parking lot, with the water behind it. I don't see that as "ocean front" - especially when I called well in advance to ensure that it would be!

Another issue for me is that the rooms are minimalist, yes, but shabbily done. The workmanship of the room seemed like it was done quickly and with a few cut corners- for example, all the light switches were aged from what used to be white to yellow, even though there was a new sink and lighting fixtures. The tub also, despite being clean, was just... Old looking. And compared to the lobby, it looked shabby.

One other thing- there is NO wireless Internet in the second building of rooms! Yikes.

Anyway- if you want a cool up and coming hotel, this may not be it for you... I'd go with one a little more established! You might end up thinking staying at home would've been nicer.

We enjoyed our stay. Like many other reviewers, our main complaint was with the thin walls. We could hear the people in the room next to us--sneezing, and every word of a phone conversation, as well as noise from the restaurant upstairs. We slept fairly well because we travel with a white noise generator. In addition to hearing noise from other people, our enjoyment was hampered a bit by feeling like we had to be super quiet, both to maintain our privacy and to be considerate of other guests.

On our first night, we at dinner at the onsight restaurant. We shared a pizza margarita, which was decent but seemed overpriced: it was not nearly as good as the $8 pizzas we got the next day at the pizza stand near Waikiki beach. We also split a panzanella salad, which we liked very much.

The main thing that is important to me in a hotel room is that it is clean, and I thought our room was very clean when we checked in. I understand the gripes some other guests have about the laminate flooring, but I would MUCH rather have that than carpet that has been walked across by who-knows-how-many gross bare feet. More places to hang towels would be nice, especially a place to hang a hand towel near the sink. The subsequent day, I don't think housekeeping did anything but quickly make the bed and empty the trash--we hung up most of our towels to reuse, but did have one washcloth that I left on the floor to be taken, and it was left there. This wasn't a problem for us because nothing more was really needed, but might become an issue for people staying longer.

The staff was friendly and the lobby had a nice, welcoming atmosphere. We would stay here again but we would make sure we had the white noise generator packed. I thought the rate ($115 for a true ocean front King room) was reasonable but probably wouldn't pay much more.

I wish they offered a bonfire package that didn't include red wine, since I only drink white and my husband doesn't drink at all. I didn't ask the front desk if they could cut us a deal on a wine-less package or substitue white, because it was really too cold, but I'd be interested on a future visit.

I bought a Voucher on Dealfind in the beginning of the year. It was super cheap, like $99 for a 2 night stay, a bottle of wine, truffles and a breakfast basket. When I called to book the room I was advised that all the queen single rooms were booked and that it would be $20 total to upgrade to 2 queen beds. No biggie because when I bought the Voucher I was going to go with my other half. When him and I broke up I almost didn't use the voucher because I didn't want to go alone, so I ended up taking a girlfriend with me. When we checked in we found the service to be fast and the service desk people to be friendly. We went up to the room and we got what was advertised.

The basic 2 queen room is pretty small. Off to the right of the front entry there is a small bathroom with a toilet and a bathtub. There are some very nice full size Shampoo/Conditioner/Body-wash that you can use. I thought this was unique as most places just leave you with travel size bottles. Across from the bathroom is the sink. The room had 2 queen sized memory foam beds that are comfortable. We had a view that overlooked the parking lot and you could see the ocean.

    Gripes:

*The walls are *very* thin and the sleep quality was horrible both nights we were there. (After the fact I heard that they offer earplugs in the office, go figure) My neighbors upstairs had 2 kids and we could hear every footstep, temper tantrum, laugh, sneeze etc. My neighbors to the left of us were loud to a severity, they looked like a couple 19 year old kids and were defiantly drinking all night.

*Breakfast was never delivered to us on one of the mornings even after we arranged it, however they did deliver it the next morning. This didn't make me upset but kind of ticked my friend off (She's overanxious...haha!)

*We requested red wine but got a white. We ended up leaving the bottle there as a tip to the housekeeping staff.

*There is no internet in the building we stayed in.

*The town of Long Beach literally shuts down after 5pm. After 5pm there is nothing to do except go to eateries, bars and walking on the beach. We checked in on a Wednesday and left on Friday and the whole time saw Police & Stater's pull multiple people over and harass them. While we were in a restaurant one of the girls told us that the cops will pull you over for going 1 mile over the speed limit. I'm not sure if the town is much more active on the weekends or not.

*The TV in our room was teeny tiny.

*We were told that the Restaurant onsite was closed. Total bummer! We were looking forward to the view.

*No coffeemaker in the room, no table or no microwave. The coffee rush in the morning was insane and almost every-time I went to get coffee the pot was empty or I would have to wait in a line behind 24 other people to get some. Bummer! Also the 2-3 times we did go to the office to get coffee/snacks some jerk was always getting mad at the staff or complaining about something. I seriously felt bad for the employees because they were all super nice and don't deserve to be disrespected like that.

    Compliments:

*Free Bike rentals if you sign a waiver (We didn't ride bikes but lots of other people did)

*Free coffee & water in the lobby

    *Nice staff

*Nice lightweight clean bedding. I wonder how they keep the white bedding so white? That just amazes me.

*Again, the staff were super helpful.

*Doogers Seafood & Grill is just down the road and we went there for dinner. The food was super delicious and I enjoyed every bite of it. Its about $12-$16 a plate, but cooked to perfection.

Overall Adrift was an okay place- I liked it and I didn't at the same time. Had I of stayed there and not had the Dealfind voucher I probably would of been upset because I couldn't see myself paying more then $60-$75 a night to stay there.

I too was a Groupon purchaser.  I was first placed in the East building & with my dog this was perfect- ground floor. The room had nothing in it except a bed, small wobbly table & two uncomfortable, metal, outdoor chairs. This was disappointing because there was so much unused space in that room. One piece of comfortable sitting furniture would have been nice. Since it was only me it wasn't a problem, but if two people were to stay there I don't know where they'd put their bags & toiletry items except on the floor.

My stay went down hill quickly after returning from the beach & being in my room for a period of time. I could hear every move the people made upstairs. It was like I was in my cheap, college apartment again. It was so loud that my dog hid in the bathroom most of the night. I even used ear plugs & the box fan (which they provided) on high & still couldn't drown out the incessant pounding which lasted until 11pm. I called the front desk at about 10pm & they said they would call & ask them to quiet down, but that didn't happen.

Other people mentioned that the bed was uncomfortable. I didn't find that, but I also like a firm bed. It is in no way plush if that's what you want.

At 7am the next morning the thumping from above began again. I called the front desk & asked if those people were staying another night. They were & the staff were willing to move me. When I returned in the late afternoon from my day trip the staff gave me a key to a room in the main building on the 3rd floor. After packing up and moving in to that room I attempted to take a nap, with no avail. The pounding & thumping from above, the doors slamming, & people running up & down the stairs continued. There's no way these floors have any insulation in them. I contemplated packing up & going home early, but I just couldn't do it. My dog was having so much fun at the beach.

Two nights of minimal rest on a "beach get-a-way" was not what I had expected. I personally wouldn't stay here again simply because of the noise factor.

Additionally the towels were of the exfoliating kind. My skin was red after washing up.

I ate at the bar Sunday evening.  I ordered the margarita pizza, which came as an "ultra-thin" crust cheese pizza with 4 basil leaves on it for $14. The plate had no sides so in my attempts to cut the ultra-thin crust, it went sliding off the plate and on to the bar. The seats are nothing more than a metal disk that hurt the back side of your legs. Consider checking out a main street join with chairs if you want to relax.

We came to Adrift because I purchased a Living Social deal for a two-night stay with a bonfire package. Marshmallows, beach chairs, firewood, wine...  Sounds cool, right?

It would have been. If it was summer.

I was so excited with the idea of getting away, with the pictures of the hotel, and the idea being at the beach... that I forgot it's winter/spring in the northwest. Read: Cold and windy. And in my case... cold, windy, rainy, and snowy.

I loved Adrift. The lobby, the bikes to borrow, the movies to watch. The bed was comfortable, I had a view of the ocean, and the bathroom had a fan.  If the weather had been more... cooperative... I would be able to tell you about the fantastic bonfire we had with drunken s'mores.

It's just an excuse to come back and try again!!

Im gonna start with saying  the hotel staff was amazing, very friendly and helpful. The location is excellent and the rooms were very clean. The shampoo, conditioner and lotions provided were nice, and the citrus water provided in the lobby was delicious! That being said, the rooms were very sparse and cold. Not exactly inviting, and there was a lack of comfortable seating, just a couple small hard cold uncomfortable metal chairs. The floors were cold and there wasn't even a area rug. The people up stairs were so loud, constantly stomping and dragging the chairs around the floor. We could not sleep, and were pretty miserable. Unless we got a similar deal from Groupon we would not stay here again or recommend it to any one!!!

I really wanted to love the Adrift.  I love the design and colors used in the hotel but it ended up feeling a little too sterile in our room.  We were one of the many people using an online deal. Fortunately I read the reviews here and upgrade to a better room with the window seat.  The other building looked a little depressing.  We had a small ocean view and in general our room was comfortable.  I think one thing that would dramatically help the room's comfort level would be a couple rugs on the floor and maybe another piece of art.

I agree with the other reviews that the walls are thin and you can hear everything going on in the neighboring rooms.  It was fine for our late February stay but in the summer I think it would be awful.

The real kicker for me, and the reason I gave three stars, was the AWFUL person working in the lobby when we checked in.  After driving through three hours of hail, snow, sleet, ice and feeling pretty tired, I didn't want a Grumpy McGrumpypants to be the first person we encountered.  The guy who checked us in clearly disliked us, his job, and the online deals that everyone was using.  He ran through all the hotel details at warp-speed, in a monotone voice, without making eye contact.  When I made the reservation I provided all of our online deal details (including the deal #). I was not expecting to be asked for that info a 2nd time at check-in so we had to spend 10 minutes using the weak signal to pull up the deal again.

The two women working at the desk later in our stay were nicer but nobody really made us feel welcome.  At one point we went to ask for directions to the restaurant and the woman working the desk was on the phone.  A second employee was sitting behind the window and clearly saw us waiting but never came out to help us, in fact she turned AWAY from us.

Just came from spending two nights at Adrift Hotel with my Living Social voucher and we had a fabulous time.  I couldn't say enough good things about our experience.  We were on the ground floor of the east building because of our dog, and the room was simple and perfect for our needs.  (This building now has wireless internet access, so that was a bonus!)  Our beds were really comfortable, and unlike other guests, we never heard a peep from any of our neighbors.

I was thrilled that they provided full-sized bath/body products -- not only because refilling the bottles reduces so much waste (serious kudos!) -- but also because they were from the fabulous-smelling EO line.  My boyfriend had his fill of complimentary brewed coffee in the lobby, and I alternated between organic tea and orange-infused water.  We borrowed free DVDs both nights, and we took advantage of the complimentary beach cruisers to ride on the miles of trails along the water.

We visited the new bar/restaurant both nights -- the first night for drinks, and the second night for dinner with our wood-fired pizza voucher.  The decor really fit my aesthetic and the view of the ocean at dusk was beautiful.  We bought a reasonably-priced bottle of wine and yummy snacks from the lobby one evening and they totally hit the spot.

We had no problems getting our breakfast baskets delivered both mornings, and I appreciated what I'm pretty sure was Odwalla orange juice (yum!).  The handmade truffles were pretty awesome, as was the 4-pack of beer (all of which came with our deal).  I'll agree that Long Beach itself doesn't offer much in the way of entertainment, but as we were there to relax and enjoy the ocean, that didn't matter.  In fact, we visited several great little thrift stores and scored some incredible deals.

All in all, it was a great experience and we'll definitely go back.

I was going to give Adrift 4 stars, not 5 - and then I realized that I would have been basing that rating partly on the surrounding community of Long Beach/Seaview/Ilwaco - and not on our experience at Adrift.  My partner and I were also Groupon users - and we had an absolutely lovely time.  I can't say enough about the staff.  They were attentive, courteous, and did everything they could to assure our stay was a good experience.  Called the lobby - "can you bring us an extra folding chair?"... "Can we have a corkscrew for our wine?"  Absolutely no problem!  We ordered our breakfast basket... it was there within 20 minutes!  Stellar coffee... comfy bikes to blaze the ocean trails... games, fireplace with real flame - really nice.  Ambient, cozy, cool accents and touches.  DVDs available... anything can be charged to room service, and on the morning of my wife's birthday when nothing in town was open to purchase any live flowers, I asked if I could take a couple of flowers from the lobby's arrangements and not only did they say yes, but everyone wished her a happy birthday when we checked out later that day.

Our bed was soooooo cozy - the room was clean, inviting, we had a great ocean view, and great EO natural body products (lotion/shampoo/conditioner/soap/shower gel) that were a treat to use.  Our vegan truffles were heavenly.  Ice just down the hall, good water pressure, clean, crisp white linens, etc.  What a great vacation.  We'll be back.

Note - Long Beach - not so much.  Nothing to do - a depressed little sea village with little to see or experience.  Next time we'll just hunker down in our hotel room like we did this past weekend. :)

We just had the best weekend getaway in Long Beach, staying at Adrift Hotel.  The nicest touch is that that the folks at Adrift really cared if we were having a good time.  That is a rarity among modern providers of hospitality.

They have figured out the right things to offer guests to maximize enjoyment of what Long Beach has to offer, the beach and the beautiful scenery.  They loan out cruiser bikes for guests to explore Long Beach.  They gave us a bonfire package, which included s'mores supplies, wine, firewood, chairs and a blanket; a simple but effective way to get us out there and take advantage of our time at the beach.  The hotel is just steps from the public access to the beach and a nice paved trail along the dunes.

The industrial chic concept was fun.  Our room provided us will all the basic amenities, including a coffee pot and upscale bath products.  Free coffee and infused water is complimentary in the lobby all day, which is a nice touch.  I would recommend upgrading as we did to an ocean front king, which is worth the difference in price.  My only suggestion to the owners would be the easy enough fix of placing weather strips under the doors to keep sound from carrying.  It wasn't too bad but it was noticeable.  A suggestion to guests bothered by noise from the next room - put a towel down.

If you require high end luxury, don't stay here.  Long Beach is a place to get outside and maybe out of your comfort zone and appreciate the Pacific coast.  If you want to stay in a clean, convenient, funky place that provides you with everything you need for a fun time at the beach, I highly recommend Adrift.

I was skeptical at first seeing the building from outside. Its a grey box. But inside it is lovely, with a sleek minimalist design that somehow still manages to be warm and welcoming. I love the organic snacks and wine for sale, as well as the free coffee and free cruising bikes that you can check out and ride all around town or on the board walk. It is _right_ next to the beach. We had an ocean view room, whose windows were angled to get a great view of the beach and surf. It was also fun to watch people come and go. The ocean view room was actually quite a bit cheaper than other places in the area.

Some of the customer service was great, but some...well, let's just say for such cosmopolitan appearances it is shocking when you are leaving after a stay, you say "thank you" to the front desk staff, and she barely looks up and just says "you're welcome" in an off hand tone. It is a pet peeve of mine when people in service positions don't know that they should respond with a "thank _you_ so much for staying here" type thing. But other of the staff were very good - friendly and informative. They could do a better job of informing about "packages" - we over heard a front desk staff person telling others about the beach package where they give you what you need for a fire and smores, but were never told about this ourselves.

I loved the free DVDs and the large sizes of delicious EO bath and body products in the room. The bed was not terrible, but not the most comfortable either - a bit too soft for me. I loved the light blue/lighter blue walls and the simple black and white photography. I don't have a dog, but I appreciate that they are dog friendly. The restaurant at the top has a gorgeous view, but the server who greeted us was so disdainfully ignorant of food allergies that we decided not to risk eating there.

Over all, it was very enjoyable, a decent price, a fantastic location, and I would definitely go there again.

I really wanted to love Adrift. I'm totally on board with the minimalist, sustainable concept the website advertises, and most of the reviews here on Yelp say the place lives up to this. The pictures and the reviews promised an oceanfront, cozy experience. I bought the Groupon deal for two nights as part of my boyfriend's Christmas gift. It was a great excuse to get out of the city.

Here's what we liked: the coffee was delicious and unlimited. the soaps/shampoos came in full-size bottles and smelled great. Instead of a breakfast buffet, they offer picnic baskets with breakfast goodies delivered straight to our door. The in-house restaurant, The Lighthouse, was delicious as well.

Unfortunately, I would not recommend this place to anybody. I think that the owners cared more about displaying their minimalist concept than the comfort of their patrons. The website was complete false advertising. The website fails to say anything about the other building full of rooms without memory foam beds, a clear view of the ocean, or the cozy chaise lounges next to the window. There are no pictures on the website that show how small and  empty our room was. I don't understand- did we have to upgrade to get the advertised rooms?

Our bed was terrible. Some other yelpers complained about this, and I have to agree. We tossed and turned all night. Why are only some of the beds comfortable and others are hard as the ground (this isn't entirely true- I've had better sleep while camping in a tent). I don't get it. The bed makes or breaks the hotel experience and this one made us decide not to sleep another night.

Our room consisted of said awful bed, and a cold, stainless steel table and chairs that is meant to be used outdoors. There wasn't any other place to sit or put our things down. No cozy chaise lounge.

Not only did we not have a ocean view, but we had the lights from the "other" building windows shining right into our room all night, so our shades were drawn the whole time to help with privacy and light.

I do have to add that we called when the front desk told us  (they don't have a 24-hour front desk, which is strange) to request our breakfast picnic basket and after two hours (and a nap) it hadn't come. I had to call again and it still took an extra 20 minutes.
Also, they claim to be sustainable, but there was no recycling bin anywhere in our room or building, and the toilets are old. Upgrading toilets are the easiest way to save water. It's also fairly inexpensive, so I'm skeptical about their dedication to sustainability.

I am so disappointed. I've never left a hotel early before, and I was looking forward to this romantic getaway for months. I've learned my lesson about groupon packages....

We just spent a couple days here and had a wonderful time. The place isn't much to look at on the outside, but the room was nice. We had a super comfy bed, TV with DVD player, and a cute little table to eat our picnic breakfasts at. We could also see the beach from our room, and that was pretty sweet!
The Adrift is in walking distance to the beach, the boardwalk and the discovery trail, so there is plenty to see and do.
They also are in the process of adding a restaurant and bar, the bar was open while we were there, and I highly recommend the ginger cosmo!
Most of the staff was very friendly and warm, they just seemed a little preoccupied with phone reservations and questions, every time we were in the lobby we could hear them explaining the groupon and living social deals... I think they need a couple more people behind the desk.
Also, while the picnic baskets are a great idea, I wish they offered them earlier than 8:30. You have to call at 8:30am, no earlier, to be put on the waiting list and then they will send it to your room in the order they get your call, both days we called at 8:30, we waited 45 minutes the first day, and maybe ten the next day... But that first day we had things we wanted to be out and about doing, and that really set us back. So if you have things to do in a timely manner maybe it isn't for you.

Would we come back? Heck yes! I can't wait to go back.

Nicely remodeled rooms some with really great views of the water.  We astayed in the building behind the building with the office in it where the Spa is.  We had a corner suite and loved it.  Our suite was sparsley appointmed with simple and industrial rustic design and materials which we thought we clever and fun.  It was very clean and comfortable.  You could say the room is a little sterile feeling but it is what you make of it when there.
The microwave and frig were perfect for our 3 night excursion.  All the staff were very helpful, kind, welcoming and made us feel at home.  We borrowed some games and drank lots of their yummy free organic coffee.  There was movies and many games to borrow.  It is about 2 short blocks to the best coffee on Long Beach at the Long Beach Coffee Roasters.
Don't come here if you are expecting high class and expensive digs.  Do come here if you want a relaxing and comforting time at a hotel that really seems to care about their guests.  We highly recommend the Adrift and will definitely stay here again when we come back to Long Beach during Cranberry harvesting time.

3.5 stars, because I want to give them credit for trying. I'm happy to have alternatives to standard-issue motels/hotels.

Pros: excellent (free) coffee in the morning, flavored water in the lobby, free beach cruiser bikes (though only a few of 'em), free DVDs (but again, limited selection), close to the beach, helpful/nice staff, good bath products, cute aspects of the decor.

Cons: "ocean view" rooms aren't exactly ocean view. Yes, you can see the ocean, but I certainly booked this room under the impression that I was going to be looking out over mainly ocean. Instead I looked directly into another building across the street. While I could see the ocean, I'm not quite sure why I upgraded. This was my main beef, and could be easily remedied with clearer advertising/descriptions.

Other cons: the decor leaves a bit to be desired. I totally get what they are trying to do, but somehow the room still didn't feel terribly welcoming. My main suggestion: new paint! You've got the whole industrial chic/re-purposed crates thing going on -  what about a nice deep dark gray/blue (like the sea!) for the walls? Like a velvety matte kind of thing? The semi-gloss just made it feel more like a hospital room than it ought to. I realize this sounds trivial, but paint can do a lot for a room. I think that might help balance out the pipes, exposed bulbs, etc. The metal needs a complimentary strong color, IMO.

I didn't find my room too loud, and I thought the little bonfire bucket was cute and cool (and good quality chocolate - no Hershey's crap). Like another poster our first lighter didn't work, but we went back and got a new one and finally got a decent fire.

DO eat breakfast at Laurie's and dinner at the Depot. Those two places were our definite highlights of the trip.

We did the Living Social deal and had a nice time. Hotel room is minimalist almost to the point of feeling empty, but it wasn't a big deal. Loved the bath products that they provided for us to use and the emphasis on sustainability.

If you're planning to have fun on the beach, go in the summer! We took a spring trip and it rained most of the time, but we rode bikes along the trails anyway and got to see some really beautiful rainforest-like climate and cool animals. We rode through a flooded trail and got our shoes soaked, and the folks at the front desk kindly dried them for us in their laundry room.

There is not very much to do in Long Beach. You could spend an afternoon there and see all there is to see in town, so go if you plan to spend most of your time at the beach and biking/hiking on trails.

As timeshare owners, we are used to large rooms with huge kitchens and lush beds.... But alas, the timeshare was booked full and we wanted to stay in Longbeach a second night. Oh, help Yelp!!!
We definitely didnt want the Super 8, which seems more like a book by the hour type of place.
Amazed to find The Adrift right across the street. We went upstairs to check out the restaurant first. The service was great, libations superb and the food, delish!
After dinner, we stopped by the front desk to see if they had any rooms available for the next night. The friendly staffer offered us a key to check out an available room. And when i say key, i mean a metal key! It wasnt a slidy plastic card thingie. Upstairs we went. The room is exactly as described. Ikea type laminate flooring, platform bed with foam mattress, and the basic necessities (tv, dvd and mini fridge). We noted a bell jar with qtips and cotton balls. Never seen that before!
We quickly paid for the room and asked about early check in for the next day. No problem, as long as it was ready-just call ahead.
After checking out and some breakfast we called and they said our room was ready. We checked in at about 11am and left for some sight seeing, movie and driving on the beach (one thing we loooove about Long Beach). Lunch, and dinner at the crab pot. A quick trip to Red box and back to The Adrift to settle in for the night.
There were ample pillows to prop us up to watch our movies -we only wish there was a better evening light option. The one light bulb fixture by the bedside was more like he hi noon sun. We ended up turning on the bathroom light instead.
Unfortunately, we had some neighbors across the hall that were not having as great a time as us, we could easily hear their arguments. They finally went to bed and we decided it was time to turn in also. A con is that the door has about a .25 inch gap and footsteps and quiet voices in the hall can be heard easily. Our upstairs neighbor's alarm-snooze-alarm-snooze-alarm that started at 7am was not very appreciated, either were their heel walking for the next hour and rolling their suitcase to and from the door a couple of times. The insulation in the place leaves much to be desired for sure. The bed was horrible.  Im sure some people would like it, we are just not memory foam hard ass bed time of people.
We did not take advantage of the amenities in the lobby but it was great to know about the bikes available, organic coffee and infused water. The sitting areas off the elevators are cozy with books available to borrow.
The water pressure was fine, the shampoo and conditioner in the large bottles was great as well.
    Check out was easy.
I would recommend The adrift--- it is head and shoulders above any other hotel in the area.

As with many others at this time of year, we took advantage of a Living Social package for a two-night stay. We had never been to Long Beach, so we were looking forward to exploring.

Having just stayed in a blah Comfort Suites hotel in Wenatchee last weekend, we enjoyed the stark contrast in the decor. Very eco-stylish and hip. It is clear these folks are thinking a bit out of the box as far as amenities, both in decor (e.g., foosball table) and available snacks and drinks for purchase. The cruiser bikes available for free is also a nice touch, although we brought our own bikes. All our interactions with the staff were very pleasant.

The bed and window seat area were both very comfortable. We also appreciated having full-size shampoo and conditioner to use. The shower left a bit to be desired, mostly with respect to low water pressure and variable temperature. The only other negative is the noise. We were on the second floor of the main building. Given the lack of noise-damping carpets and furnishings, we could hear conversations up and down the hallway and even at the reception desk downstairs. Earplugs may be a good idea.

Very industrial chic.  There were some things I had to wonder if they were still working on, or if that's the look they were going for.  My husband loved the decor- kept asking if he could put pipes into our walls to decorate...
They offer snacks, organic coffee and tea, flavored water, beer, wine, DVDs, and bikes for free use in the lobby.  There was even a shuffleboard table and Foosball table on our floor.
Our room had a partial ocean view and was really very reasonable.  We paid about $105 on a Friday night.  I loved the room.  Good size, memory foam mattress, and an awesome padded bench across the entire end of the room near the window.  Great place to lounge and look out at the water. Decor is sparse, but clean and calm. Service at the front desk was nice and friendly.
    We will be back!

Ugh - It annoys me when people say all good reviews must be from people who have some kind of affiliation with the hotel.  Seriously?  Maybe some of us just had good experiences.

I also did the living social deal. I thought for that price it was great, but I wouldn't pay anymore. The hotel goes for a minimal environmental impact look; however, it seems like a cheap way to skirt around more expensive finishings. They do not skimp on the bed, which is very comfortable. They have a free dvd collection to take movies from and free bike rentals for customers. Also the living social deal included a breakfast basket with yogurt, juice, scones, and fresh fruit. It was excellent and very fresh. The hotel is right next to the beach. The negatives are that they seemed to be cutting corners on the interior and calling it a new modern look. Also for the normal rate I would recommend another hotel on the strip.

We had a spacious room in the main building that had a great view of the beach.  The bed was very comfortable with very good pillows and linens.  Beyond that, the place is spartan.  Nice shower.  Good toiletries.  Below standard tissue products.  Fairly quiet except when anyone was in the hallway.  Hallway noises intrude.  Good TV and a modest iPod dock. The room could have used a table and a chair.  The chaise was nice, but not enough.  Lighting in bare bulb, and not enough.  It's located on one of the main beach accesses.  It's very convenient to the main part of Long Beach.  Nobody would stay there if it were located just about anywhere else.  The thing is, you don't have much in the way of better options in the Long Beach area, so yes we will probably stay there again sometime.  We like Long Beach and are always looking for an excuse to get down there and have dinner at the Depot - a great restaurant.  The people who own the Adrift also own an adjacent hotel which is nicer, but it too lacks decent lighting unless you get a corner room and the sky isn't too dark.

We stayed here recently and loved it.  The rooms are fairly basic but thoughtfully designed and put together.  The beds are comfortable and show that they spend money on where it counts, good beds, soaps, complimentary bikes, fair pricing on goods in the lobby, free coffee, and various extras on premise.  The second floor features a foozeball table and something I'm assuming is a shuffle board.  The location is virtually on the beach.  There are great paths to ride up to Cape Disappointment.  The complimentary bikes were fantastic.  The front desk was wonderful and accommodating.  They let me view a few rooms before deciding on upgrading to the main hotel.  I don't recommend the one set back from the one with the lobby.  The room was dark, seemingly cold and not very inviting.  We look forward to coming back and making this an annual vacation spot.  We went in the off season and highly recommend it!

My only guess is that there is some disparity between the rooms here, because my stay was great, and I didn't have any of the problems described by other reviewers. Actually, I experienced some of the "problems," but they actually weren't problems at all.

The staff was fantastic. I ended up switching my reservation and they were booked solid, so to accommodate me they upgraded my room. As such, I was staying in an ocean view suite, so maybe my room experience was better than other posters.

My bed was definitely very comfortable. I slept like a child. My room had a microwave, although not all do, but I also saw one available next to the ice machine.

Word to the wise, there is also foosball and *shuffleboard* on the second floor. They also have free bike and movie rentals. The oceanside bike trail is awesome.

I did have to call twice for breakfast, but it arrived with apology about 5 minutes after my second call (about 30 minutes after my first call). The emphasis on local and organic foods and products was great/delicious. The bath products are in large containers ("communal" as one poster called it), which saves on packaging. They were obviously clean (no soap stuck in the nozzles, etc). While it's true there wasn't a recycling bin, I used an extra bag for my bottles.

I was below the restaurant and heard some footsteps during business hours. It was nothing major, and I didn't hear any noise from side to side, even though the hotel was completely booked.

The design is simplistic and modern, which I loved. Yes, it was probably done on a budget, and that is probably the reason this very cute, very eco-friendly, pet-friendly hotel with awesome staff is available at a reasonable price about 12 steps from the ocean.

Bought a Living Social deal to stay here- two nights for $99 sounded like a great deal to me! I wasn't sure exactly what to expect because it was my first time in Long Beach.

We came during off-season (beginning of Feb) so the hotel was not super crowded (but busy enough to not make us feel alone in there!!). Speaking to the thin walls that everyone on Yelp complained about- I had no problem with noise during my two night stay. I didn't hear anyone above or next to me. The doors make a bit of noise when you close them but this happens in any hotel.

I loved the minimalist/modern decor of the hotel and rooms. Our memory foam bed was VERY comfortable and I really liked the clean white sheets and duvet that looked and felt brand new!

As far as the ocean- there are NO hotels ANY closer to the water than this one- everything is set back from the shore on Long Beach so there shouldn't be any complaints about this. My room had a partial ocean view- my room was facing another hotel/parking lot but I had a decent view of the crashing waves from the window bed.

    Pros:
+ GREAT free coffee/cream in the lobby and spring water steeped with mint leaves and fruit (we had both lemon and strawberries during our day)
+ FREE bikes to take out during your stay- they were in wonderful condition and we had a ton of fun riding around the paved paths through the dunes and around town. We likely would have paid to rent bikes so this was an awesome perk
+Nice, helpful, friendly staff- glad to give restaurant recommendations or answer any questions
+ Yummy breakfast basket in the morning- it came with our Living Social deal so we didn't have to pay- fruit, yogurt, muffins, and juice.
+ Awesome shampoo/conditioner/lotion/shower gel. It can be purchased in the lobby but use as much as you can while you're there! The lavender lotion was to die for (I purchased some to take home)
+ Good location- just off the main road- walking distance to most shops/restaurants/etc.
+Free movies to watch during your stay. Someone dissed them on Yelp but they had what I considered a decent selection of semi-recent DVDS (probably from the last 6 years or so)

    Cons:
+ Room was HOT at night- no AC so we had to open the window. I wish we had known that it tended to get warm at night because we would have opened up the window BEFORE bed rather than waking up in the middle of the night sweltering. For the second night we borrowed a fan (which you can request in the lobby).
+ Windy at night and a couple of loose lights on the side of the building were banding around making some noise. One of them fell off during the night and went crashing to the ground (but at least the banging noise stopped!)
+ No staff on site between 11pm-8am. Not sure what you would do in case of emergency although I'm sure they have some kind of emergency protocol should you need someone in the middle of the night.

Overall a very enjoyable experience at Adrift. I felt at home walking around the common areas and in the lobby, helping myself to coffee, movies, games, etc. I would definitely come back here!!

Few times have we left a hotel early, but so many things came together to make our stay at the Adrift Hotel a complete disaster. When we found ourselves checking out at 9pm to make the 3  1/2 hour drive home, we knew that we had hit a new low in hotel experiences. Adrift faces serious issues with cleanliness, capability, and staff. I will not return, and I will strongly recommend others to think seriously before staying at this property.

The problems started almost immediately upon checking in the first night. The room featured a king sized bed and a chaise lounge to sit and view the ocean. Unfortunately, there was a stain on the chaise that looked very much like bodily fluid. Completely disgusted but realizing that guests are not always responsible in hotels, I decided to request a blanket to put over the chaise so that we could still use it. It was early in our stay, and we were willing to give the property the benefit of the doubt. However, the telephone in the room did not work to call the desk. Two glitches, but it would get better, right?

At bath time, we discovered that  of the bath towels were badly stained and/or had pieces of grass stuck in them. They felt scratchy and stiff, so it was hard to tell if they were even laundered. Additionally, the property uses communal bath products. Unlike other facilities I have visited that do this, however, they are completely accessible. I was concerned about the hygiene issues, as if there were stains on the furniture and the towels, what might someone have done to the bath supplies? Luckily, I had brought my own. This was all ironic, considering there was an envelope from the housekeeping staff, specifically asking for a tip.

The next afternoon, we returned to our room to find the towels were replaced with equally stained towels. Two of them had pieces of grass embedded in them, and one was dirtier than the rags I use to clean my bathroom. At this point, I frustrated by the problems we kept encountering, and I went to the front desk. The two women working were very kind and apologetic, probably the highlight of our stay. They gave me fresh towels (which, ironically, were not perfectly free of stains), and they even offered a free bottle of wine for my troubles. If THIS had been the way that Adrift was consistently, I would not have left, nor would I have been writing this review.

The final straw came in the evening. Part of our package included a bonfire kit. Unfortunately, the kit did not include lighter fluid, and they didn't seem to have a lighter that worked properly. (Wooden matches, if you need a green bonfire!) After multiple trips up and down the beach to try to get working lighters, we gave up on the fire. I can't entirely blame the hotel for our failures. Maybe we should have been Scouts. What I can blame them for is their reaction. When we came in, clearly upset and disappointed, the desk clerk was smug and uncaring about the situations. No effort to assist us. No effort to see what was wrong. He was clearly more interested in playing on the Internet than helping the customer. It was simply the last straw. We had been more than willing to forgive the hotel's shortcomings, but the patronizing, unconcerned attitude of the employee was more than we could take. We went back to our room, packed our things, and checked out. Continuing to be a completely useless employee, the clerk made no effort to get us to stay or even ask us even what the problem was. He acted as if checking out of the hotel at 9pm on a Saturday night was completely normal. Maybe it is.

There were plenty of more minor, aesthetic complaints as well. I am a fan of the urban chic look that they were going for, but it was done poorly and cheaply in a lot of places. There were spots where mirrors or other fixtures had been taken off the walls and the paint was not fixed. Many of the materials used were not reasonable quality. The bed was surprisingly hard, even for memory foam, which we have at home. The laminate flooring was a strange choice, especially since noise issues seemed to be a problem in the hotel. We didn't bring our dog because we were told our 4th floor ocean view was a great room, but the ocean was quite far in the distance, past two buildings, a road, and a lot of dune land. This hotel is not oceanfront in the way it was presented.  It is also billed as a "hotel and spa," but I did not see a spa anywhere on the facility, nor was there a spa menu, common in most spa hotels. There was a building next door that had a massage sign, but it wasn't clear that it was part of the hotel.

All in all, there are a lot of little details that are overlooked, and when combined with the massive failures, it was a terrible experience.

One of the first things it says on the hotel's website is that their focus is on value. We stayed there five nights, and I was completely satisfied with the value. We paid $110 per night for an "Ocean front queen" room that faced directly toward the beach (west). I challenge anyone to find a better value in Long Beach! The hotel was tastefully decorated, and unlike most hotels, there was nothing cheesy, tacky, or pastel about the decor. Words that come to mind are modern, minimalist, industrial, maritime. It all worked very well for me. The pictures on the wall were tasteful black and white photos of local scenes.

The best points in my opinion:
Excellent value for a location very close to the beach with a wonderful view.

    Comfortable, tastefully decorated room.

Outstanding service at the front desk.

Free bikes to borrow any time you want.

Fresh coffee (the hotel's own organic blend) always available in the lobby. Not the cheap stuff that 90% of hotels serve.

A delightful selection of beer and wines for sale in the lobby.

Free WiFi, no silly passwords needed.

    Potential issues:

The building is older, and thus the walls and floors are not very soundproof. I assume that this is figured into the price. If it were a new building, I guess they would have to charge more per night to cover their costs.

I laughed at the reviews of the beds. They ranged from terrible to great to worn out. So...the likely reason for this is that the mattresses are MEMORY FOAM, not spring mattresses (at least the bed in our room was). Maybe people do not realize this. Now, the memory foam was very comfortable, but it was a little strange sleeping in an indentation that was created by people other than myself. A bit of an odd choice for a hotel. I am nearly certain that the hotel purchased the mattresses new when they remodeled, so they are obviously not worn out...they just have the "memory" of people sleeping on them.

Air flow. There is delightful sea air blowing all the time, but with only one window in the room, it was a little hard to get much of that air to flow in (though it never got too hot). They do have fans available though, and they sent one up for us.

    Other:
Parking was not a problem despite the hotel being fully booked. However, I suspect that when parking is an issue (as someone commented), it is because people NOT staying at the hotel park in their lot due to its close proximity to the beach. But really, even parking on the street, you would not have to walk far.

Lots of families stay here (including mine). It is family friendly.

The bottom line is: I felt like I got a great value for my money. I loved all the little touches. I would definitely stay here again if visiting with a child/children. If I was visiting with only my wife, I might try to stay at Inn at Discovery Coast which has an even better view.

If this is the Adrift, what can I say, I want to float aimlessly with you forever.  The Adrift is what used to be a reeeeaalllly busted old motel. The former "Edgewater" has left a few relics of itself here, like the crappy old box sign out on the road, and if you stare at the elevator door when it opens, you can see where the nice new modern grey paint stops, and the old Edgewater "coral pink, that has been smoked over since the 70's" starts.  Relics like these are bold indications of just how much has changed here.  The Adrift is sharply designed on a dime in a great way.  Most importantly, the rooms are dirt cheap compared to other places that offer a real beach front room.

Decor is modern and minimal, and pleasing at least to my eye.  No, it's no W or Four Seasons, but it is my new favorite genre of hospitality environment.  The type where an enterprising person came along and said "hey this place is a total dump, I bet for very little money we could change this place completely.  And they did.  The lobby is clean and modern, and features free organic coffee and infused fruit waters.  Also free new bikes are available.  There are free "dvds" but I think those are just for show as they look like they were fished out of the 2 dollar aisle at Big Lots.  Also, free no hassle internet is a great bonus, no signing in, or messing around like a lot of places.

Rooms offer what at first feels like an over firm bed, but later reveals itself to be a memory foam mattress that made me sleep like a coma patient.  New hard surface floors are a bonus so you don't have other people's mystery stains hanging out in the communal carpet.   There is free shuffle board and foosball on one floor, and the restaurant upstairs had several really bad reviews when I first came here, but  I must admit, they were nothing but friendly to me. The burger, while not exotic in any way, was super tasty and hit the spot.

I highly recommend the Adrift - it is hardly publicized, and a little hard to find if you don't know where it is, I'm not even sure I want to share it with you... because I want it all to myself, but alas, if it's to stay in business for me to return, I guess I have to share the love :)

A beautiful hotel with a welcoming, calm vibe. What's most impressive is the attention to detail; I delighted in my room. The desk, made creatively with a crate as an attached drawer, the place for the towels in the bathroom, the style of the shower (and the strength-- could've showered forever). The products; i.e. organic tea/coffee and user/environment friendly, less waste shampoos and conditioners. The little nooks for chatting/wine/books/work on each floor.. so tasteful and not at all ostentatious. Someone with a beautiful eye created this hotel.

Also, I appreciated the location. I'm not sure one can get any closer to the beach, and it's walking distance to the Long beach downtown as well.

I'll definitely be coming back, with family, with a group of friends, with a work retreat... this is the place in Long beach I would pick each time.

It is 824am. I am laying in bed on the second floor of the main building listening to the conversation of the people that work here...... a floor below me. That is the primary reason it has received a two star rating. I can excuse rude clueless guests yelling down a hall but not the loud chattering of employees that comes through loud and clear.  This hotel is cute. In a dorm room hostel type vibe. actually liked the  eco friendly decor. However it's missing a plush touch to bring it all together.  What I did like - the body washes and shampoos -  it's doggy friendly- and it's close proximity to the beach.. Bringing my pooch made everything better! One night is okay. Two nights is too much.

Great location and a very cool uniquely decorated hotel for a good price. Newly remodeled. Chill staff--exactly the kind of hotel beach stay I was looking for.

I hopefully will be back next year, we loved staying here. Kinda funky, very nice and helpful, amazing location, great parking, quiet, safe, walk to the beach, or use a complimentary bike which is great, rates are fair. The rooms are a bit on the warm side as they don't have air conditioning, but they do have fans to borrow, which is line with their vision, I did not need a fan, I just opened the window and felt the great ocean breeze.

This Hotel is amazing!! The urban feel, CLEAN room is refreshing! I used to be a flight attendant. I've stayed in hotels all over the country. This is by far one of my favorite places. I love being able to walk on the wood floors without socks and shoes and not feeling like I'm going to catch a disease! I love the bath products! The view of the ocean is breath taking! I cannot say enough good things! If you're in need of a place to stay this is the most upscale place with all the organic amenities, none of the room filled fuss for a great price! No disappointment here:)

This place is getting 2 stars only because of the great massages we got. Which were ruined by the hoorrible beds. Hotel is not finished. The noise level in the rooms was crazy bad. Why not just invite the people in! wouldn't eat at the restaurant the hostess was just too rude. The staff seemed nice enough. The door jam in our bathroom had been broken and put back together we really did not want to know what happened. all in all stay somewhere else BUT book a massage there.

Okay now that I am about 10 hours removed from my Adrift experience I can be a little more fair. I was extremely disappointed considering all of these five star reviews. Was the property completely empty? Did I just get a bad room?

While the decor is very modern/minimalist I'm not sure the laminate floors work in a motel environment. To say that the walls are thin is an understatement. I had one of the worst nights sleep ever here, I could hear every door close on my floor, I could hear my neighbors talking, I could even enjoy one snoring at 1am. No joke.

I had a view room, which I was so excited for. What I didn't know was that it was right below the restaurant. Yup, you got it I could hear them walking all over the restaurant between 10pm - 11pm cleaning. I got to pay more for this 'view' room and enjoy the added ambiance of the footsteps.

Pros: The bed was very comfy, too bad I still couldn't sleep because of all the noise. The elephant style, rain drop shower head was amazing.

Otherwise, I wish I would have saved the extra money and spent at a cheaper place. Maybe I could have slept? I really wanted to like this place, the staff was so, so, so nice. I love that they are pet friendly and environment friendly. But frankly, if I can't SLEEP in the room I am paying for it is a fail for me. :(  It completely pains me to write this review but I've had a similar experience at a craptastic Days Inn for half the cost.

My husband and I booked an impromptu trip to the coast this weekend. We had visited the Northern Oregon coast but as somewhat recent transplants from Minneapolis we had yet to explore the Washington coast. Long Beach and a stay at Adrift Hotel was at the end of our journey down the coast - and what an end it turned out to be.

It is my understanding (from what we gathered from the locals and regulars during our stay) that this place used to be a different hotel (The Edgewater) with different owners, and that those that purchased, remodeled, and now run Adrift have given the place a total makeover. And what a makeover it is! Everything is crisp, clean, modern, and fresh. The entire second floor (which is the first floor of guest rooms) is dog friendly which is great since we try to bring our dog with us whenever possible. The beach that the this hotel sits on is dog friendly - our little Hannah had such a fantastic time!

More pros: Free organic coffee available 24/7 in the lobby, free dvds, free bikes for guest use, a binder of menus from local restaurants in the lobby, and organic toiletries for guest use.

    Some cons:
Thin walls. Our neighbors had some kids and watched some obnoxious television programs. How do I know? I could hear them.

Given their focus on organic and sustainable, it was a little strange that they didn't have more ideas on vegetarian or vegan options for their guests. I get that it is the coast and it is all about fish and seafood, but it is as if restauranteurs think that vegetarians and vegans don't go to the coast. We did find one place in Ilwaco called Tuscany Cafe that had more vegetarian options than other moderately priced Long Beach joints, I wish they would add their menu to their binder.

The restaurant on the top floor seems to be run by different people who seem to not be thrilled with the new hotel owners and clientele. Although their bloody marys and veggie quesadillas were delicious, it was a really weird vibe we got from them. The server who seated us seemed put out by our presence; a different server complaining to the cooks about previous customers was heard throughout the restaurant and none of the staff seemed to think it was inappropriate; and the bartender made a point to tell two women stopping by to check out their menu that he has had nothing but problems with the "new owners not telling the new hotel guests that they cannot bring their water or coffee cups into their establishment." Maybe welcome potential customers and try not to be so obvious about your disdain for the new owners and clientele? They call this restaurant the Lightship, but it is actually a time machine into what The Edgewater must have been. The staff and decor are in desperate need of modernization.
