Blink and you might just fly past Adrian Orchards. Smack in the middle of older and newer residential additions, this orchard really crams a lot into the land it occupies. A small apple orchard, pumpkin patch and barn all beckon you to take a break from harried city life without really leaving the metropolis. Adrian's presses their own cider in the fall and it is delicious! We also picked up some Macintosh apples during our visit - several of them did not make it home - the spicy, juicy handfuls were just too darn good to resist! Since we were on our way to eat lunch, we did not pick up any other treats, but the carmel apples tempted us. Also, on the day of our visit, two ladies were outside the barn cooking up fried biscuits with apple butter, brats and hot dogs. This is not something I've seen done at other local orchards, but what a great idea!
Adrian apparently does not do the "U Pick" thing, but does provide excellent customer service. This is a great place to take the kids, especially around pumpkin-selecting time. The folks here have been growing fruit and other select produce for 83 years....that says something about their commitment to quality! -

Kinda small and in the middle of an encroaching housing development, but the cider is wonderful as are the caramel apples.
