Robyn left me under a dryer for over an hour with bleach on my hair. The next day I had to shave my head....it was falling out.
I tried to go from dark to light at home but ended red. I went to Robyn for A PROFESSIONAL opinion. I wanted to go blonde but wanted my hair to remain healthy. I told her we could cut my long hair to a pixie first to maintain healthy ends. She said it could be a little dry but cutting it short would keep it healthy.
Had she expressed that it could end up falling out i would have just kept my long hair and gone back to dark to save it.
I went in 5 days later, after i had cooled off, to request my money back. I had actually called her 3 times and never received a call back, which is why I went in.
They hesitantly gave me a refund. WTF - really?
Later that evening Robyn called my cell phone, and went off. She was beyond rude. The next morning, her boss called me and told me I wasnt welcome in the salon again. WHY WOULD I EVER WANT TO COME BACK! YOU GUYS TURNED MY HAIR TO COTTON AND MADE IT BREAK OFF!
WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER -
Review from Song S.
It's been awhile since I've tried Adore, but I think that makes me more objective. Being a po' student, I made an appointment with Alli, whose prices are more reasonable with stellar reviews on Yelp. Making an appointment was easy-peasy with the online system. My appointment was in the morning, so street parking along Highland wasn't all too bad.
The receptionist was perfectly nice and I had to wait a few minutes for Alli to arrive. Now I'm all sorts of awkward and terrible at making small talk, but Alli is the perfect combination of sarcastic and down-to-earth to put me at ease. It wasn't the best shampoo experience I've had, but that's probably not the most vital part of the visit. Alli was receptive to how I wanted my hair cut (whatever vague-ness on my part that entails) and adept at the execution. It was a solid job. And you know what? 3 months after that cut, I'm still liking how it's growing out. -

I have been going here for over a year now and seeing Lauren for cuts. I can't say enough great things about her. I had tried almost every salon in the city before landing here with Lauren and I'm so happy I found her. Every time I've come in with an idea, she seems to be able to make it look better than the inspiration pic. The front desk staff there is always friendly and quick. Parking is relatively easy with lots of street parking for the apartments and townhouses around the building.

The salon: It's too small if you have a wedding or larger party. They offered drinks, but no wine which was surprising considering their pricing. The front desk was friendly, but the overall vibe was a little closed off. Good music playing though.
The stylist: When I called to make my appointment I told them I wanted someone who is good with blonde highlights, and is creative. I was told Jill was the woman for the job.
I brought in a couple of pictures for her as a guide, and I'm glad I did. She followed the picture well, but I still have roots/line if I style my hair a certain way. I got there at 5 and didn't leave until 7:30 (this was a partial highlight and trim). No massage during the shampoo (which is the best part in my opinion). The blow dry had zero volume even though she asked me if I wanted a round brush blow out (I do a better job at home).
I guess it just depends on who you go to. She was a funny and friendly person, but needs a lot more experience. -

Finding a good hair stylist is hard. After reading rave reviews on this and other websites, I decided to give Adore a try. I have mixed feelings about this place, but my personal journey here has led me to the decision to find a new hair stylist outside of this salon.
First I saw Jenn Hipp. I really like Jenn and always got along well with her. She does good hair too. However, Jenn has canceled on me twice spanning our relationship, which was a year or year and a half at most. The first time it was with about a weeks notice, so that was not a big deal. Most recently, she canceled on me the day before my scheduled appointment. If it was a family emergency or illness, obviously I would understand, but she was on vacation, so clearly a cheap vacation was more important than keeping appointments with clients that had booked weeks in advance. After the second cancellation by Jenn with such short notice, I decided I was not going to see her anymore.
Next I saw Robbi Smith. I ended up getting an appointment with Robbi last minute after Jenn had canceled on me. I really liked Robbi and I decided to give her a shot. We talked about going red, and she seemed to have lots of ideas about how to turn my dark brown hair a beautiful red color. So I booked an extensive color and cut with Robbi after my initial appointment with her.
I was absolutely ecstatic about going red. I even let friends and coworkers know about my appointment. I had that appointment, and $240 later including tip, my hair is not red by any means. I had dinner with a friend I had not seen in sometime after this appointment and she did not even comment that my hair was different. I was hopeful regardless of these initial results. Robbi told me that she would email me that same day to set up a time for me to breeze into the salon so she could put more color on my hair to actually make it red. It will be two weeks tomorrow since that day and she has not emailed me.
Don't get me wrong, both Robbi and Jenn do good hair. But for the price I have paid, I would expect not to be canceled on last minute for a hastily planned vacation or I would expect a stylist to follow up as promised when the desired results were not delivered.
I am having a consultation at Zonolite Hair Studio tomorrow. I hope this place pans out and I finally get my beautiful Emma Stone red hair.
I wanted to add that after reading this review, Robbi graciously refunded what I paid to get my hair done by her. -

Robbi has been my hair stylist for the past 10 years...the ONLY reason I won't be seeing her any more is that I'm moving to Oregon.
Robbi always has a smile on her face, she's friendly and most importantly, she listens to what I want. She gives me honest opinions about the cut I am contemplating, and always cuts my hair perfectly and with the most flattering style. I have also had her take my hair from bright red to platinum blonde several times...she has the most up to date techniques, I am never disappointed, and my hair is always left in tip-top condition even with the extensive process.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Robbi or Adore hair studio to anyone looking for a fantastic new look! -

Brenton, Brenton, Brenton. Oh, how I miss you. In all my life, I have never found a hair stylist that pays so much attention to my hair. My dirty blonde hair gets perfect, paper thin, bright, natural-looking highlights - no yellow, no chunks. He asks questions, he listens, and best of all, he's a perfectionist. I have had some terrible experiences in salons - top 2 including getting called "Rogue" at the office as a result of trying to go brunette (yes, like X-Men) and coming out of a salon with my hair a lovely shade of salmon (no, not kidding). Matter of fact, it was Brenton that saved me from the salmon mess, and it has been a happy story of hair stylist and client ever since.
I have brought many out-of-town family members to him, and all have left wishing he was their regular guy. I have been complimented on my hair long after I am due for an appointment (secret: get it glazed if you're a blonde, you'll thank me later). I've moved out of Atlanta, but if I could afford to fly back solely for his magic hands, I would. -

I adore Adore! (I'm sure they've never heard that one.)
I first heard about them a few years ago when they were listed as the number one hair salon in Atlanta on Citysearch. Before then I had been jumping from one salon to the next, hoping to find one I couldn't wait to return to.
Robbi Smith is amazing! I was getting bangs for the first time, but wasn't completely sure what I wanted. She made a few suggestions and the end result was better than I had imagined. The cost is very reasonable for the service, professionalism, and courtesy. With so many years of experience, the stylists really know what they're doing and I'm delighted I've found a place I can trust with my hair!
They also offer free bang trims :) Since then I've been back to Robbi for bang trims and hair cuts countless times, and I've left each experience feeling happy! -

I haven't had my hair cut in a year. I really needed to do something so I called up to Adore and they were able to take me that same day. I was paired up with a woman named Robbi. I brought a picture and when she was finished I was stunned. It was exactly the same. EXACTLY! I have never had a better cut in my life. I went in looking like a drain clog and came out with celebrity hair.
Robbi really listened and actually knew what she was doing. She even showed me how to get my stubborn bangs to do that swoopy thing. It's been two weeks since I went to see her and I haven't had a bad hair day yet. Thanks Robbi!!! -

Okay, I definitely had a much better service experience the second time around here at Adore, so I will definitely be a regular here now. Thank goodness because I don't know what I'd do without Adrienne!
I called a couple days before my appointment because I could not for the life of me remember what time my appointment was, and to my surprise John from Grow has also apparently moved over! That was a pleasant surprise because he was always so nice.
When I came in this past Saturday, the people at the front desk were much friendlier, immediately offered me something to drink, and I also saw they took the email idea from Grow. Thank goodness - because if I don't get an email reminding me of my appointment now, I can never remember when it is! They also remembered to ask me while I was paying about setting up another appointment, so all my concerns from the first time were addressed the second time.
The only thing I can possibly complain about is the parking. Boo! It started raining as soon as I finished my appointment, so my freshly done 'do got ruined having to walk like half a mile to my car (whenever I came in there was absolutely ZERO parking anywhere nearby the salon).
If the service keeps up the way it went this time around, Grow will be a distant memory. Sorry Grow!1 Previous Review: Show all »

Adrian moved from Grow Salon to Adore!
Had to follow her, don't know what I'd do without her coloring and cutting skills. I also love this place - it's a bit warmer/less industrial feeling and in a great neighborhood.
Prices are based on which stylist you prefer, so there's a price range - rather than a definite one. If you call in advance, they can let you know. Be sure to schedule an appointment as usual :) -

J'adore Adore!
Confession: I normally tend to go 6 months or a year without a haircut-- I break down and get it cut when it starts looking like a bale of hay perched atop my cranium. I think the main reason for this is I can never find and hold on to a salon or stylist... My luck with hair stylists is worse than my luck with romantic relationships.
After cutting off most of my mane sometime in spring of 2009, I decided to let it grow for a bit because I really didn't know what the hell to do with it. Finally when I decided to schedule a cut, my previous stylist had vanished. Dang, and I had such a good feeling about this one. What's a girl to do? Why, consult Yelp of course!
I chose Adore based on all the good reviews, and picked Jill because other folks here seemed to like her too-- and she gave me a freakin' fantabulous new 'do. Seriously this is one of the best haircuts I have had in a looooong time, and a super nice experience at Adore. I love the atmosphere, it's very relaxing and spa-like. The website, too, is amazing-- I booked my appointment at midnight.
Yep, I think this one's a keeper! -

I love Alli! She has been there with me from shoulder length, to pixie, to jaw length, to pixie and now back to shoulder length... And regardless of what kind of style, it always looked fantastic! I love the service, the atmosphere, and the fact you can get a PBR while you're getting your hair cut!
I tried out adore waaaay back in like late '07 after I got my hair mangled at a mall salon. Generally, always a bad choice. I went to Jenn Hipp at first, who was amazing! But, as a lowly college student, she was a little outside of my price range. When I heard about the new stylist, Alli, I made an appt and even though she cost less, the quality is right there with all the other stylists. I know that sooner or later, her prices will go up... but I love what she does with my hair! -

Monogamy has never been a strong suit of mine in the hair stylist department. Every few months, I feel an overwhelming polygamist urge to mix things up & try a new salon all together. One unfaithful day, I decided to stray on over to Patrick Cochran at Adore & I couldn't be happier that I found him!
Patrick is not only a warm fuzzy, who you feel you've known for years after just introducing yourself, but he listens to your ideas while also having an objective eye. Sometimes, what a client wants in theory is simply unrealistic for real life. Patrick knows this & takes every person's hair texture, face shape, lifestyle, etc into account when deciding on the best cut & color for the individual. I can honestly say that I have received more compliments on my color & the overall health of my hair since I've been going to Patrick.
Speaking of, that's the other awesome thing about Adore: they carry some of the best hair care products on the market today. If you're feeling earthier, they've got Pureology. If you're a product junkie & love the sweeter scents, they've got Bumble & Bumble. They even carry the highly coveted & cult favorite Moroccan Oil.
The prices are fairly competitive & comparable to those of other high end salons, but hey, they include a complimentary beverage too! Who doesn't like to chat it up & get their hair did all while sipping on a glass of vino?!?! Adore ain't cheap, but the results are worth every penny. Every stylist looks incredibly talented, but Patrick is so personable that I can't imagine spending time in anyone else's chair. Go see him. Now. -

I have been going to Adore for a little over a year now. I started going when my stylist, Steven (fabulous!), was able to fit me in on the same day that I called. Now I have to schedule at least a week in advance, if not 2 weeks. It's a little annoying that it's so popular but I guess that's a great thing for Steven and the other stylists and it probably means they are doing something right.
I had much hair drama in my past and Adore is a breath of fresh air.Listed in: My Neighborhood

What everyone is saying about how wonderful and amazing adore is IS TRUE! My hair is very temperamental and I used to always dread getting a haircut and when I did I was never really satisfied with the results. I've never seen the same hairstylist more than once because it seemed like no one really understood the texture of my hair or maybe they just flat out sucked. Yes, I had my fair share of Super Cuts, but I also went to some "high end" salons that sucked nads.
anyways, I randomly decided to get my hair cut at Adore a couple years ago. I had hair down to my arse and wanted to liberate myself. Steven Sloss cut my hair and I actually loved it!! (At first I cut off 13 inches, then I went back a few months later and lopped it ALL off. That is a bold move for a lady if I may say so myself!)
I've been going to him and only him ever since, and not because he's easy on the eyes nor is it because of his charming Scottish accent. I just give him a general idea of what I want and let him do what the power of his scissors compels him. I'm sad because I'll be moving out of state in a few months and I do not want to experiment with new hairdressers again but at least I have friends and family to visit, giving me a good excuse to get my hair cut too. : ) but yeeeeah, it has gotten difficult to get appointments lately. I had to wait like, two months for Steven but if you're like me and don't want just any ol bozo snippin hairs, it is definitely worth the wait. -

Being that my regular colorist up and moved to Canada on me, I was in need of a new spot.... in comes Adore.... A girls gotta keep her hair looking good, right??
At any rate, I jumped in the car, took the three minute trip from my house to the salon, parked easily, right up front... VIP Baby, and went in. I was instantly greeted by the front desk personal and then also my stylist.... She is called Jill and she makes masterpieces! She was ready for me right away.
I sat in her chair and was offered a beverage... beer, wine, soda, water..... Good Stuff. Drinking and getting pretty hair...
We than began to discuss what I thought we should do and what she thought would work with that. I ended up really liking her ideas and we went that route. I can honestly say that I adore ADORE SALON! :-) Jill really put her magic touch on my hair and it looks fabulous.
Great atmosphere, all stylists are there on booth rentals, so they can be as awesome as they want and they don't have to answer to a "boss". They also use Pureology products which I have had a lot of luck with, so I was happy to see them in their salon! They also offer on-line booking for their computer friendly customers. -

I am still (relatively) new to Atlanta and I hadn't had a haircut since April. I chose this place based on all the positive yelp reviews and hoped for the best. I'm always a little nervous when I try a new stylist because I am afraid they will give me high-maintenance hair - the kind where you have to spend 20 minutes blow drying every morning with round brushes and velcro curlers and all sorts of other things I can't be bothered with - or, worse, that I will have little-kid all-one-length hair when I walk out.
I described my hair type (kinda wavy, very fine, long) to the girl on the phone and she matched me with Lauren. Lauren was really nice and we discussed what I wanted to do and she understood perfectly - long layers but nothing requiring fancy styling, just enough to give my hair good movement with a blow dry (which, in my world, means flipping my head upside down and blasting it for a minute or two when it's almost dry).
My hair looks impossibly shiny and I actually got some volume in it (!!!) and I thought the price was reasonable too - $55 if I remember correctly. I'll be back, especially since it is across the street from my beloved Inman Perk. -

Megan Zinke, "Z" is absolutely the most amazing colorist I've ever had the opportunity to have do my hair. MOST yelp reviews are helpful, please take advantage of THIS one.
As a hairdresser myself, it is almost impossible to find someone to do my hair the way I would love to do it to myself. Z is the only colorist I've ever fully trusted. I consider myself a recovering brunette, (nothing against brunettes, but making the switch is difficult). Z maintains the health and integrity of my hair as well as customizing the service to ME.
If you're looking to put faith in someone new, but are afraid of change Z is your girl. She listens and truly connects with her clients. You'll leave feeling confident and refreshed, as well as feeling like you just made a great new friend. -

OK, I will admit that I get rather self-conscious when I walk into a salon. No clue why, I guess it's because I'm a "t-shirt/jeans" kind of guy, and most salons around Atlanta clash a bit with that. I've been to a couple of places here that clash with me so much that I don't feel 100% welcome. And I'm not talking about decor, I'm talking about customer service. I will straight up not come back to a salon if I encounter sub-par customer service.
My high standards were met today at Adore. Everyone was courteous and friendly, and I had a great time with Jenn. (Who did a great job with my hair, as well.) Jenn had a great energy: she was insanely laid back, which I respond to well. (Especially a first time when I'm feeling all "OMG I'm in a salon and everyone is judging me." Yes, I've been to places like that.)
So, seriously, go. Prices aren't too bad, and everyone is super-nice! -

I am IN LOVE with Adore. I really needed a shape up to my hair but was nervous to try someone new after having an amazing girl in NYC. After seeing the great reviews here I tried Z out for my color and Jill for my cut and I couldn't be happier.
Jill is a wizard with short hair and masterfully gave me a look that wasn't boring or normal which is hard to do with pixie-short hair and Z magically lifted my mousy brown hair to a lovely shocking blond.
It's pricier than I would like to pay but SO worth it. Everyone in the shop is super friendly. I only wish i had longer hair and neede dto go back more often ;-) -

I re-discovered Jill Gregory here after losing touch with her a few years ago. Jill is really wonderful -- very talented with the scissors, but also a great listener who really tries to understand your life and how your hair fits into it. And just a cool person overall. Adore is a lovely salon, too -- everyone seems laid-back and friendly. You can have a glass of wine while you get your hair cut... no pressure to buy products because they don't make commissions on them. I can't recommend Jill more highly... and having followed her to a few places, I can say she seems very happy at Adore (which says a lot about the place)!

i love adore. they rock my hair. in all seriousness, very cool place that is up to par. i've been going there maybe a few years now (since they opened) steven cuts my hair and he is awesome. i'd had some crazy bad cuts and coloring in the past, so at first i was all about showing him pics and telling him what i wanted (to avoid any disasters- lol) - and he was so cool about it and totally got what i liked....ever since that first appointment it has been so breezy with him. he knows what my hair is like, knows how to cut it well, adds in a little flair when needed, and he's funny to chat with while there. so, needless to say, does his job quite well :)
easy, fun, and a fabulous haircut.
nice extras... all the people there are great and friendly, the atmosphere is sweet, and good music always in the background....helps for a nice hair cutting session :) oh, and i love the online booking for appointments - easy for my hectic schedule. -

Seriously, how is it that I haven't reviewed Adore??? I adore it!!!! Jenn is my girl and every single time I leave there my hair feels fabulous and sassy! It puts a new spring in your step. They have a lot of stylists to choose from and online booking so it's a dream. The selection of products is nice too and they really keep up with the trends in hair to see what works and what doesn't. Since I have fine hair it's sometimes difficult to find someone that really knows how to cut my hair, but Jenn is awesome! I got my husband to start going as well and everyone who has cut his hair there has been great as well!

I like that you can book online through their website. I made an appointment on Thursday and got in for Saturday. The salon is nice, clean, and conveniently located in Inman park. I went to Steven, who took all 11 inches of my locks. One would think that I would be sentimental about it...nope! He really knows what he's doing and he makes interesting conversation about cool places to go around the city, rather than the normal salon gossip. I could talk all day with his charming Scottish accent :)

I've found it! After spending a few years auditioning Atlanta's top salons, Adore is - by far - my favorite. Unlike a lot of salons in Atlanta, Adore is classy and upscale without being pretentious. Most importantly, every single person that walks out of Adore looks FANTASTIC! Some salons have one or two excellent hair artists - all you have to do is look at how many adore stylists have positive reviews on here to know that they are something special. I've been seeing Patrick for about a year now and he is the only stylist I've found who has managed to cut my curly hair in such a way that it looks amazing whether I go natural and keep it curly or straighten it. He's also a genuinely nice guy, always a bonus when someone is spending an hour touching your head. Another bonus - you can book appointments online! Adore = hair happiness.

You will ADORE your hair and Steven too!
In need of a real change last year, I decided to find a new hair stylist. I am the type that has no clue what looks good, so I am at the mercy of the hair stylist to guide me. After scheduling an appointment with Steven Sloss, he talked to me about what I wanted (or didn't want) and very adeptly translated that into a fabulous hairstyle. My hair never looked so good! People that I never imagined would comment on my hair complimented me. I've had several high profile women (president of a university, high ranking state official, etc.) ask me for Steven's contact information. While I would selfishly like to keep him a secret, I am just too indebted to do so. I trust Steven implicitly to work his magic on my hair. He changes it up a little every visit to keep it interesting, but my hair is always easy to style and manage. In addition, he has worked with me on my hair color due to some health issues, something my former hair stylist was unwilling to do. And if all that was not enough, he is great fun to talk with, so I always look forward to my appointments.
