I LOVE Adollup! Jamie is amazing--she seriously does hair magic! She's by far the best colorist and stylist evah! And the entire team is so friendly, you'll just want to hang out there.
I can't recommend Jamie and Adollup more -- just go, you won't regret it! :) -

I love Adollup. Jamie, the owner, is the only person I want to cut my hair ever again. She listens (really, really listens) and she is precise, careful, and in general just an incredibly sweet person. Cool and laid back and genuine -- her questions about your life don't sound like small-talk just to be polite. Everyone that works there seem sweet and helpful, and Jamie turned me on to the perfect products -- the No. 4 volumizing line. My hair has never looked so shiny, healthy or amazing, and I get compliments all the time. You won't be sorry.

I've been going to Hung for years now-- during his Grasshopper days. He is Toni & Guy trained and is very current with his training. He just returned from London and has brought back many edgy techniques have have really refined my cut.
I have great hair-- thanks to hung! -

I found my new hairstylist! Hung is awesome. I love my new haircut and he was so nice and explained how to manage my new haircut. I'm so used to getting the same kind of style haircut for the past few years that I wanted something different. Totally love my haircut! I will definitely come back to Adollup!

I went to see Sarah a couple of weeks ago. She is the best hairdresser I have ever gone to in SF. She spent so much time showing me different hairstyles and colors. I love that she actually listened and in turn, gave me the best haircut and color. Plus a special nod to the receptionist who gave my very well behaved 4 year old a pen and some paper. It kept her busy until her dad showed up... Adollup is a fantastical place! Thank you thank you. I will definitely be back.

Review from Jen L.
Sacramento, CA
Dear City of San Francisco:
My hairstylist, Jesus Reyes, is a recent addition to the style-crew at Adollup salon. We the people of Sacramento, as in me :), are now sharing Jesus and his amazing hair stylin' skills with you. He will be at ADOLLUP on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays for any of your haircut, color, highlight needs.
Jesus is a fantastic stylist and I've followed him for the past 5 years from Mosaic Salon to his current Sacramento salon, Salon B.E.S, which is where he will be doing MY hair on Thursdays, Fridays, or Saturdays in Sacramento. (For a super detailed review on Jesus, please refer to my reviews on Mosaic Salon and Salon B.E.S., which are both in Sacramento.)
Jesus will give you an honest feedback and doesn't BS around with your hair. If there's a hairstyle that you want, but he knows it'll make you look like a train wreck . . . he will tell you and refuse to do THAT style because he stands behind his work. I complelely trust him with my Asian hair. He can do all types of hair too!
When he finally chopped my long hair into something chic and sophisticated . . I knew I was ready for my trip to Europe and party it up at Ibiza in STYLE.
Anyways, give him a chance . . . he's a risk-taker and, if you're ready and willing, he can push your style to the limits. (Or if you're on the shy-side, he'll keep it safe for you too.) ;)
Sincerely,
Jen L. -

Just moved to San Francisco and was scared to branch out and try a new stylist. I actually thought it was feasible to fly to LA whenever I needed a cut/color. After 4 busy months, unable to get back down for an appointment, I decided I needed to buck up and find someone in SF.
I yelped for salon's in my area and picked Adollup for the amazing reviews. I am so glad I did.
I have curly unruly hair. Jamie was compassionate and unjudgemental with the state of my hair. Took time to really understand what I wanted and took time to show me curly hair styling options. However, I love my cut so much that I have blown it out every time and haven't even tried the curly options!
Thanks, Jamie! (will upload pics)! -

I am always nervous about getting my haircut and usually I'm disappointed. But Diane was great! She seemed to know exactly what I wanted even though I couldn't articulate the look I was hoping for. I have long straight "blah" hair and Diane helped create a soft, layered look that made it look fresh and healthy! I definitely have found my stylist.
Added bonus: She even helped show me how to add quick waves to my hair with a straightening iron. I was very happy.
And for your first visit you get 20% off. =) -

Hung is so simply fabulous that despite him moving to Adollup and my moving far far away (and being courted by other self proclaimed hair gurus), I still drive to see him. And at this new location, there's PARKING!
My original review of Hung still stands:
"Hung simply r o c k s. I don't want someone who fawns all over me and says whatever I pick will be fab. If my hair looks like ass, I want my stylist to tell me. If the color I pick makes me look like a ho in a Bangkok massage parlor, I want my stylist to spit it out.
"This is Hung. He is a genius, and has made me love my hair again." -

Tracy, CA
I have thick wavy hair and people out here in CA have given me some horrible haircuts, since i moved back from new york. In nyc i had my haircut at ASK on Madison Ave and Oscar Blondi, so yes i know about good haircuts. I decided to see Jamie and she worked in Sublime back then (2008). She gave me a great cut. I decided to try someone else to save a little money and make my drive shorter. Wow, that was dumb since i was butchered. So i came back to Jamie. She fixed it and didn't even lecture me.
I learned my lesson and i refuse to get my haircut from anyone other than Jamie now. I have been with her since 2008. Why switch up a good thing? I live in Tracy so its over an hour drive for me, but its well worth it! She makes me look amazing. Takes all the bulk out and makes it frame my face, which makes my face look slimmer. I highly recommend her. -
Review from Kel C.
Jamie has been cutting/coloring/perming my hair for nine+ years. My first appointment with her was at Grasshopper in SOMA, where she chopped and colored my unruly hair to PERFECTION. When she left Grasshopper, I followed her to Sublime in Lower Pac, and finally to her new digs in the Portrero.
She's so talented, I knew she'd eventually open her own salon. Yes, Grasshopper is one block from where I live, but I don't care. Jamie is the ONLY person I trust with my hair and I when I was living in LA, I'd drive up to have my hair fixed by her. I've had cuts by other stylists over these last nine years, but always regretted it. No one can do a cut like Jamie. She takes the weight out of my thick and heavy locks without making me look like a mullet head. Also, when she cuts my hair, it grows out perfectly. My hair grows like weeds, up to an inch a month, but when Jamie cuts it, it grows out so nicely I only have to go back twice a year to get it fixed up.
After I've had a session with Jamie, people literally stop me on the street to ask me where I got my hair cut. It has happened so many times that now I just keep a few of her business cards in my wallet so I can pass them out.
I'm so happy she moved into Potrero. Now I don't have to fight for parking in Lower Pac. Her new salon is adorable and unpretentious with great light so you can admire your new do in all it's splendor.
Run, don't walk, and get thee to Jamie for a mind-blowing haircut. -

Jamie has been cutting my hair for years. I followed her from Grasshopper to Sublime and now I am so happy for her that she has opened her own salon. I have fine straight hair that looks twice as full after she cuts it and grows out beautifully. I have other friends who have gone to her also--not all with straight hair. She can do it all. I haven't had a cut by any other stylists at Adollup but I know Jamie has high standards and I would trust her other stylists. Highly recommended!
(Plus I've always been able to easily find street parking there and if you drive in SF you know what a bonus that is.) -

Jamie is amazing!
I found her via yelp and was her loyal client for almost 3 years (until I moved to the east coast :(...., there was not a single cut or color that she did for me that I wasn't completely and utterly happy with! She has stellar attention to detail, is patient, listens and always delivers a fantastic cut & color!
What can I say beyond the fact that I moved to the east coast and have seriously contemplated booking a flight to continue to be her client...but alas, I can't afford it...but trust me I've actually gotten to the point of looking up the price for tickets :)
Miss my wonderful hair guru! -
Review from Aivy C.
My first experience at Adollup was wonderful! It was a rainy day, sure, but there was plenty of parking, the staff was totally accommodating (I got a Saturday appointment on literally a day and a half's notice), and the space is open and bright. (Note: You'll need to go to the white gate and enter the code, which is listed, to get buzzed in. Adollup is up the stairs and directly to the left, just look for the big dots above the window.)
Hung, who I followed from another salon, has been doing my hair since I was a broke ass college student, interning at a museum and inexplicably living on that side of the bay. 7 years later, I still drive from Silicon Valley or the East Bay to get my haircuts - and of course, the laughter and gossip is a different kind of therapy in itself.
There's a reason a lot of us have trusted him with our hair (and in my case and probably some of yours too, our secrets, lol) for this long. And as long as I have a working car and a babysitter, I would be delighted to follow him anywhere.
Great place! (And did I mention the parking situation is AWESOME? Hooray for not having to take public transportation or circle the block endlessly during Giants games!)Listed in: Get it right, get it tight

Just got my hair done with Stacey and I couldn't be happier!! She had to work some serious magic on restoring my hair because of a previous haircut disaster. She's amazing and SUPER nice.

I love Jaime! When I first arrived in SF in 2004 I was in dire need for a haircut. I can remember the moment when I stopped a girl shopping at Wasteland and she gave me Jaime's card from Grasshopper Salon. Two weeks later I stopped another woman and asked who did her hair. Swear to god, it was a client of Jaime's. That sealed the deal. I've followed her from Grasshopper, to Sublime, and now to her own shop. Now I'm the girl with Jaime's cards in my wallet handing them out to people that need their hair tamed.
She's an amazing colorist--takes courses throughout the year to learn the latest techniques and trends. Her cuts are also phenomenal!--They grow out perfectly and she always gives me a free bang trim. Now, she's moved to my neighborhood, and I am such a happy person!
FYI Her new place is a little hidden--its BEHIND the blue building. -

Sarah Wickens is the only person I trust with my locks. She's amazing with color and always gives me a perfect cut. She never fails to do just what I want; even when I don't really know what it is I want to do with my hair. Super creative and overall a great stylist. :D

I will follow Hung to the end of this earth if I have to. He has given me fabulous haircuts every. single. time! No complaints here. I am never disappointed. Plus, I admire his honesty. He will tell you straight up what looks good on you and what does not. I used to go to Trio Salon, Cowboys & Angels, L Salon... but I've dropped all of them for Hung! I can't explain it - He is just FABULOUS!

I moved to SF a few months ago, and I was flying back to Arizona to get haircuts because I am super picky. At the recommendation of a friend who said, "I've never had a haircut where people would come up to me and tell me how good it looks until I went to Hung."
He wasn't kidding. Hung is the best stylist I've ever had, and I've been going to him for a couple months now. I am always super happy, my girlfriend loves it, and people are always telling me how good it looks.
Go see Hung, and you won't be disappointed! -

When it comes to finding a hair salon in San Francisco, there are so many good hair stylists. So that's why I'm so happy I found Adollup Salon in Potrero Hill. The entire staff is accommodating, pleasant, and most of all, talented. Whether you need a hair cut, color, or highlights, this is the place to go. And best of all -- parking is easy and they take credit cards. This is my kinda salon.

Easily the best haircut I have ever received. Jamie Bagley (salon owner) is very talented, smart, and friendly. She explained the mechanics of the haircut I requested without me even asking; it made me comfortable to know that she could achieve the style I wanted with confidence. I thought the cut was highly complex, but she looked at the photos for about 10 seconds and broke it down, then pulled it off precisely.
Hung Tran cut and lightened my friend's hair and also did a fantastic job. She has been Hung's client for years, and she flew in from Chicago to have him cut her hair before her upcoming wedding.
Everyone at Adollup was very professional yet friendly and welcoming, and the entire process was quick and efficient yet relaxing. The salon has a very bright and stylish environment. Lots of 2-hour parking around the salon. Prices were what you would expect for a well-done haircut, but they earned every penny. Mine was $80 from Jamie, but the cut was complex cut and I have long, thick hair. Their prices are listed on http://Adollup.com.
I'll be back here for sure. -

Jamie is wonderful! I wasn't sure about what to do with my hair when I came to her salon. She gave me great advice and a great haircut! I felt like a new person and got many compliments for it.
She took a lot of time talking to me, explained every step and gave me lots of styling advice for later. She talked about all the products she used, but I didn't have the feeling that she tried to sell me stuff (which I don't like).
I will definitely recommend this salon to everyone I know! -

Diane is a rockstar hair designer in my book. She spent time discussing with me what I want in a cut, what I liked and didn't like about the current cut and making suggestions for my new and improved cut. She shampooed my hair and gave me a great scalp massage. Pure heaven! Then the magic began. She started cutting and making sure to inform me of what she was doing every step of the way, while having pleasant conversation. I absolutely loved what she had done but the true test wasn't over. The true test is, can you make the cut look good after leaving the salon. It has been 2 days now and I am doing great with the styling brush and blow dryer. I will be seeing Diane again and again! Thanks for the great cut, Diane!

After going to Jamie for years, while she was at Grasshopper as well as Sublime, I strayed from her a bit after she moved because she was much further out than I wanted to travel. I totally regretted it though because anyone else who worked on my hair left it brassy and just didn't give me what I wanted. I even went to colorists that were supposedly rated "the best" by different magazines. As much as I hate to drive in SF, I finally gave in when my schedule freed up a bit and I drove to Adollup. The salon is really bright and clean, and Jamie did a fantastic job on my hair, just as she always has. Jamie's prices are really fair and she is just so amazing when it comes to color. She is the only one that I will tell "do what you think is best, I trust your judgement". I was really specific with other colorists, alerting them to the fact that my dark hair pulls red and I HATE HATE HATE brassiness, and yet my hair would STILL come out exactly the way I didn't want it to. Not so with Jamie. I just leave it in her hands and it comes out perfect. I'll definitely start making the trek over here from now on. It's just a waste of time and money for me to go anywhere else.

Diane Ramirez is new to San Francisco, but not to styling hair. She always made my hair look amazing and I miss her so much since she moved out of Southern California. If you are looking for a great stylist, who is also one of the nicest people I have ever met in my life, look no further than Adollup. Ask for Diane Ramirez and get ready for a hair transformation and a good friend. She is wonderful and amazing!

Do you have frizzy, out-of-control and unruly CURLY hair? Then I recommend you go to Jamie. For years and years I've had hair stylists claim they could tame my head of hair and FAIL repeatedly.... that is until I met Jamie. I first went to Jamie when she worked at Grasshopper, then followed her to Sublime, and now I'm with her at Adollup. I always wore my hair in braids because it was so hard to control, then Jamie showed me how I could shape my hair in minutes WITHOUT the braids. I became a mom a little over a year ago, and needed to do something with my hair that was non-labor intensive and QUICK. Jamie helped me with that too. Thanks Jamie!

I hadn't cut my hair in over two years and I was so nervous about finally giving into trimming those nasty ass ends I had. Diane was so awesome and attentive. She gave me a bangin head massage and just made the whole experience so comfortable. She was very lenient on my gnarly ends and talked me thru every step of the process. Usually I am totally the girl with hair cut regret and it takes me months to feel ok about getting it trimmed again. Diane was amazing and I will definitely be going back to her in a couple months (instead of two years).

This review is for Hung who I will follow to the ends of the earth. When I heard this salon would be opening I was ecstatic!! Perfect location, lots of parking, and light and airy space. I've been seeing Hung loyally for several years now, as has my husband and I will have have eyes for another. Not only is he a creative hair genius, but he loves what he does, takes great pride in it, and it shows. He is also patient, takes his time and when you are unsure what you want to do to your hair he always has ideas. Highly recommended and I'm so happy he has joined the Potrero Hill family!
