Love this place for a quick bite.  The Shrimp tacos are perfectly seasoned and super tender.  My BF loves the Chicken taco combo.  If your in the mood for a salad the Taco Salad or the Fajita salad are excellent.   Don't forget to try all of their salsa options!

The staff here as super friendly and always make you feel appreciated as a patron.  Keep up the awesome work Adolfo's!

This is a great little place.  Locals show up here all the time.  The patio is great to sit out on and have a pitcher of beer with your buddy's.  Food is ok, but not my favorite.  Location and service are a big thing for me here.  Prices are fair too.

Owned and operated by the same Mexican family for the past 27 years.  I rate Adolfo's 4.5 stars!

The food is very good (both my grannies were born in Mexico and cooked amazing Mexican food for me), great low prices, friendly service, fresh food, flat screen T.V. showing Sunday football, nice beer selection with Dos Equis on tap, and an outdoor sitting area.  The portions were small but as Americans are used to "super size portions".  Including my whole meal with beer, I was plenty full!

I had the combo cheese filled Chili Rellano w/rice and refried beans and a small cup of Albondigas soup.  Both dishes were very flavorful.  My granny's albondigas soup was served with rice in the meatballs...I missed the rice.  Adolfo's doesn't put rice in the meatballs.

We ordered a large Machaca burrito; Albondigas soup x2 cups; combo of Chili Rellano w/rice & beans and 1 Bohemia beer and 1 Dos Equis on tap.  The total bill was a mere $25.  In fact, my combo meal alone was $5.45!!  Very reasonalble prices for good Mexican food in a very casual, laid back atmosphere.  Cheers!

My all time favorite Mexican restaurant! Been going here for years! I love their enchiladas (in my opinion some of the best) and their lengua burrito is delicious, the meat is so tender! The staff is super friendly and the service is great.

Friendly, fast, and pretty cheap. The tacos were lacking in flavor, but the verde enchiladas were quite good. I'd go there again, but I'd walk, not run.

We love Adolfo's. We're there almost every Saturday morning. Our favorites are the chorizo egg and bean burrito, the chile verde burrito and the chile relleno burrito. The real stars are the first two, esp. the verde. Lovely spicy flavor, but not too spicy. Careful--filling is HOT.

Plus you've got Reuben there, service with a smile, every time. Great patio that Adolfo's wife keeps beautiful with a wonderful array of flowers, usually filled with locals.

Their salsas are awesome too. Overall, fantastic!! Oh, and to the One-Star Reviewer--no, it's not the most authentic Mexican food in Orange County. And there's plenty on the menu I won't get. But for a breakfast burrito and friendly service, it's the best.

This is my favorite spot to hit with my best friend who lives in Laguna. They have a quaint little patio outside overlooking PCH and the sound of waves hitting the beach.

Inside, they have a counter area with TV screens displaying the latest soccer or baseball game. A few booths along the back wall and a SALSA BAR!! Anytime I can heap on my pico or tickle my taste buds with some spicy salsa on demand is worth a couple stars in my book. If only they had Malibu... but they do have coconut water :)

No matter how busy they are, the staff is always friendly and quick with orders. Since you order at the counter, then wait for your food, I usually hit the salsa bar while I'm waiting. If you order chips, they give them to you right away with your drink :)

The food is decent, not the best and not the worst. They've never messed up an order and it's always hot and fresh when you get it. Their carne asada tacos (American style with lettuce, tomatoes and cheese) are tasty and quite filling. The burritos are huge and I've never been able to finish one off by myself. A good value for the money and even better when you have great company to share it with :)

Four stars on 22 reviews?  It's one thing if you let me down fellow yelpers  but you have been duping me this entire trip.  Then I tell my fam this place should be good they yelped it with four stars.  Then both of us look like fools.

Take it from a guy who has grown up eating real Mexican food his entire life.  This place sucks.  I usually don't use that word in reviews but I need to set the record straight on this so the rest of you aren't fooled like I was.  Filibertos is literally 5 times better than this.  My wife couldn't get past two bites of her food and I may have had five of mine.  The other people I was with said their food was maybe a two.  I think they were being generous cause I picked it.  Absolutely disgusting.  Adolfos can keep their bad food, nasty horchata, and flies to themselves.  You lagunians don't know shit about mexican food.  Gross.

What can I say, this little hole in the wall traditional Mexican joint is the
    best out there.
Your choice of a cozy little bar area to watch the game, head towards the back and sit at a table or dine outside on there cute little patio.
The same people have been working there forever, there is always a familiar face with a smile.
I have been going here since as far back as I can remember, practically grew up on the cheese enchiladas with rice and beans- they have the best refried beans ever!
The potato bean/cheese burrito is delicious - add the red sauce on top to make it a "wet burrito".
My boyfriend cant get enough of the California burrito wet style.
There Mexican omelette is the perfect option when im trying to eat more protein than carbs ;)
They offer anything you would want at a Mexican place!  yum yum yum!

Went here for the first time during the 25th Anniversary and I will definitely be back.  I frequently go to the Laguna Art Museum and had no idea this place was literally right around the corner.

I had the seafood quesadilla and it was HUGE, cheesy and delicious.  I washed down the meal with a cup of their iced tea.

The boy had Huevos Rancheros which were delicious.  I had to stop myself from stealing his plate, but I had some shrimp tacos to attend to.  Another friend had the seafood enchiladas which she said were delicious.  I can't wait to go back and try em.

Everything was delicious, I can't wait to go back!  Even though the place was packed tonight because of an event, there were still plenty of places to sit outside.  Parking is in front or in the neighborhoods behind.  Prices are definitely reasonable for the amount of food that you get!

If you like traditional, home cooked Mexican food, you'll love Adolfos. The restaurant is small, barely 400 square feet....long and narrow with tables on one side, bar and counter in front.

When you enter, you'll notice the two owners, both graying on top, and the cook behind a glass partition.  There are big pots, meat on the grill, beans, rice, cheese, salsa, and tortillas....The whole experience is like entering someone's house.

The food is excellent, especially their chille rellenos. The patrons range from the super rich, Laguna elite, to the undocumented day laborers.  All sharing something together: excellent Mexican food.

You can sit on the counter and see the ocean and the cars streaming by.  It's a great place, for I've been going there for close to ten years.
The salsa is excellent and they have a large selection of beers, a good choice on a hot summer day.

The only reason this place does not deserve a five star rating is the seating arrangement.  It's crowded and the air conditioner does not work too well.  Outside, the two tables near the Coast Highway are hot, noisy, and you'll be battling the flies.

Go for the food and experience a traditional Mexican experience.

Adolfos is an order at the counter traditional Mexican joint. I have been going here for 20 years and it serves its purpose perfectly.
The food has great flavors, and is consistent. The chips, ordered separately, are thin and warm and there is a salsa bar for everybody to get the type of salsa they prefer.
A favorite among local surfers it can get loud as pitchers of beer are purchased during sporting events. Kids love it, and they make a great Quesadilla. For real authentic Mexican fare, look off the main menu for other posted food items that appeal to the local Hispanic community.
Adolfo's has it's own unique flavor. I could be blindfolded and instantly tell an Adolfo taco or refried beans from any other Mexican joint.

    3.5 stars.

Went here with friends before we saw Pageant of the Masters. This place is run by Aldolfo (REALLY?!) and his workers and actually rivals the hole-in-the-wall Mexican joints of Santa Ana in decor and menu!

Of course, being in a nice section of Laguna, the prices are higher, which is why I had to take away a star, and it lost another half star because something was off in my enchiladas. When I try a new Mexican food place, I like to try the Enchiladas (if they have it on the menu) because I think it's one of the harder dishes to make flawlessly, and really shows the skill of a Mexican restaurant.

Although Aldolfo's doesn't exactly pass the test, the Enchiladas were still good.

Now that I think about it, something was wrong with the red sauce.

Anyway, this place is quite far from where I am, so I think I'd rather stick to the Santa Ana Mexican food places.

a great patio for a weekend lunch.  service a bit slow, but decent Mexican.  Beans are great... rice is so-so.

I had the chorizo and egg burrito without the beans inside the burrito and was happy with it.. .but how do you really mess up chorizo and egg? :)

my parents had the fish tacos which looked okay (whitefish), and my dad had a machaca burrito.  they both seemed pleased with the food... and the patio was a nice touch.

I kept hearing about this place form friends who lived in Laguna Beach. They said it was the best Mexican food you can get for your buck. My family and I went on the weekend to check it out. I have to say that I am  pretty picky about my Mexican food. I prefer small portions, no so much sauce and more street style food. This place delivers on all 3 of my criteria. Walking in you feel like this is the real deal. They are very friendly and the menu is pretty extensive. They even have a sort of hidden menu with lengua on it. The only reason I know is because I heard a regular order from it after I sat down. You can tell this place is mainly for locals but don't let that stop you. I had their carne asada plate. The meat was cooked perfectly. The salsa bar is good too. Not too spicy  but not too bland.Chips are great. I can't wait to go back.

Went here with some friends last Sunday for the first time and ordered taco and enchilada combo. First off any authentic place gives you chips and salsa. This place did not, we had to request the chips. Salsa tasted like spicy ketchup. I grant you the beans were ok but the taco was just blah. This taco was a couple of steps higher up than Taco Bell and Del Taco. My friend who is from Mexico noted how a real taco DOES NOT have lettuce and American cheese.  I ordered the jamaica thinking that would be the highlight of the meal. SO WRONG! Jamaica was watered down. I have had better Kool Aid.For $10 I was bamboozled. Next time I will stick with Jalapeno's although they are not truly authentic they have the best crispy beef taco in OC!  The highlight of the evening was going to the Koffee Klutch down the street-----LOVED IT!!!!

This place has the best mexican food in Laguna, its a tiny family owned restaurant that is about a 1/2 mile south of the main downtown area.  They have a really nice little patio that we sit at every time we go there.  My favorite thing to get there is the cheese quesadilla, I don't know how they make such a simple thing sooo freakin amazing! The only downfall is that the older lady who works there (she might be the owner) can be pretty grumpy sometimes : \

Love, love, love the chicken tostada!! This is a local's favorite for quick and inexpensive, authentic mexican fare a block from the beach. Grab a beer and some huevos rancheros, take in whatever pro ball game's on that day & hit the waves. OR just take it to go & eat on the beach. It's food on the quick that's just good enough.

This is one of my three favorite Mexican places in Laguna Beach, the others being Wahoos and La Sirena Grill.  It's a tiny little place, and sometimes very crowded, but it's always good. My favorite is the cheese enchiladas with rice and beans. Not sure where they get their enchilada sauce, but I've never had any tastier. My son gets enchiladas at almost every Mexican restaurant we go to and he says these are the best. Another thing I want to mention is the iced tea. I know it's strange to rate iced tea, but some places are just bad, stale, powdered, whatever. But this place, there's something about it. The tea is fresh and clean, obviously brewed fresh throughout the day.

Heading home from LA, me and the girlfriend were looking for a  taco shop on our way back to SD and were surprised to find one in posh Laguna Beach.  I had the Carne Asada burrito which was prepared a little different than I'm used to ordering here, but was nonetheless very good.  It's prepared knife and fork style with the guacamole and sour cream on top.  Carne asada, rice, and beans (i ordered no beans) make up the inside.  The carne asada tasted good and was really tender.  Overally our craving was satisfied.  We'll definitely stop by next time we drive up the pch.

To its credit it has a great location. That's really all that can be nicely stated.  We asked a very specific question about one of their dishes, got an answer, ordered based on that, the dish had the offending items and we received a shrug when we commented.  This was an allergy issue not a simple pick the item out of the dish.  The rest of the food was bleh.  We live nearby so we've tried them twice and the second visit was worse than the first.  Its grumpy service, a run down location, and really bleck food. Both times after "eating" there we threw most of the food out and had to have a second lunch elsewhere. Not only is there better Mexican food in the world, there is far better in Laguna Beach.

Adolfos is awesome greasy cheap Mexican food! :) It's great for a hangover and the food is always fresh.  One thing to watch out for is that the beans are made with pork fat and the rice is made with chicken stock, so if you're a vegetarian, stay away from the rice and beans and head straight for the potato burrito or potato tacos :) Yummy! My favorite dish here is either the Steak Fajitas or the Beef Enchiladas... Both are fantastic, but the sauce for the Beef Enchiladas is to die for- it's almost like mole, but lighter and I think it has cheese in it! Definitely a low-key atmosphere, every time you come in you will find kids, surfers, skaters and old men.  Laguna natives love this restaurant, mostly because it is the only Mexican food in the area that doesn't cost an arm and a leg, and you won't find any Juicy tracksuits in this joint.  This atmosphere reminds me of OLD LAGUNA! Before MTV, or designer labels, or Escalades. So if you're gonna come here, leave the attitude at home and settle in for some unpretentious good eats. :)
