The only cafe with some local flavor that we could find open in Silver City for brunch on a Sunday while driving through, we stopped by and were pleasantly surprised. The service was great, there were local artists' works for sale on the wall, and it really had that nice, kind of upscale cafe atmosphere.
I ordered the southwestern grilled cheese -- grilled cheddar on rye with tons of green chiles and creamy avocado. I ordered it with a side of the home fries instead of french fries, sweet potato fries, or even the Czech potato salad...and did not regret my decision. Eating them with ketchup, it reminded me of having a grilled cheese with tomato soup on the side. The sandwich was spicy good, but also a little plain and required a little salt. Which was no problem; I just added some.
The boy ordered migas (which I would have ordered if he hadn't). It's so rare to find migas outside of central/southern/western Texas that we had to order it. And it was delicious. With a really earthy roasted corn flavor from the crushed tortilla chips in it, the scrambled mixture of eggs, jalapenos, tomatoes, onions, cilantro, and green chile sauce was awesome. He ordered it topped with green chiles, and it was really spicy but also really good. The roasted corn flavor made me think that there might be even some added masa to the mixture. Okay, I admit it, I secretly wished I had ordered migas topped with green chiles too.
All of their dishes had those extra touches -- they were beautifully presented. Great place for brunch; glad we spotted it while driving through. It's so much better than going to the local diner, especially when it's just as inexpensive. -

Ate a very nice breakfast at this local cafe in a refurbished old motel setting (now a set of businesses). Good decor, nice solid food, great service. Prices are very reasonable. You will do much better to eat breakfast or lunch here than most other places in town.

This was the second time I have been to the restaurant. I have been please both times. I was here this week for lunch while on business. the place was some what busy and I was given a nice table by the window. Services was excellent and wen i did have an issue with my meal the corrected it right away and apologized to me several times. The time before I was there for dinner and the meal was excellent.
