It's been over two weeks and ATTICUS seems like is old self.
Still mixing in rice and cottage cheese with his normal food.
Thanks again to the Doctors at Adobe.
Me and my little buddy appreciate you! ...
BTW: Please take the time to read the "filtered" reviews.
I'm not sure why some of them were filtered out and the "faceless" one stars were allowed to stay...1 Previous Review: Show all »

I'm guessing when it comes to your pet, there is very little middle ground on the care you receive.… Read more »

Review from Erika G.
Dr Kapty is such a wonderful Vet to our beloved Georgie.
Georgie was the best Bichone Frise ever! He was our fur-baby so when he started to get sick we knew Dr Kapty and everyone at Adobe would be able to take care of him or at least explain to us what was going on and make him comfortable. He didn't have much time left when we realized what was going on but Dr Kapty made sure we knew every option that was available to us. And stood by with what ever decision we made and/or answered all our questions.
When it was time everyone there was aware of our situation and didn't ask those akward questions and were very sympathetic. They knew Georgie very well, we have been going to them for about 10 years - which is most of his life.
So I can say without a doubt that we did the best we could to help George by going to Adobe throughout most of his life. Even when we move to SF we still went to Livermore to keep Adobe as his Vet.
When we, if we ever get another dog we will be back at Adobe.2 Previous Reviews: Show all »

Very knowledgeable staff and doctors. One of my cats is prone to rare but not uncommon ailments. They have been very helpful in all emergencies.

If you have a lot of money and you love your pets Adobe is fantastic. My old wiener dog lived to be 20 years old and that is after I ran over him in the driveway, I'm sure their great care and caring was partly responsible. Now they take care of my two replacement Dachshunds and I couldn't be happier. One of my dogs recently had a problem and they found some time immediately, and they are not an emergency clinic. Yeah it was $500 because an xray was needed to be safe but they are great and I wouldn't take my dogs anywhere else.

Dr Stannard has got to be the nicest vet I have ever encountered and has wonderful 'bedside' manner. He didn't treat us like a number and was really caring. He thoroughly explained everything he was doing and he had pamphlet for everything I had concerns about.
This was just a checkup and yearly vac appointment so everything went smoothly.
The prices are a bit more expensive then other places. And I am one of those people who have pet insurance and tsk tsk other for complaining about prices. But it is worth it to us not having to stand in line at a mega-pet store and wait for shots, but instead get personal service for the pup.Listed in: Living in Livermore

I visited this hospital with several pets when I first moved to Livemore over 13 years ago and I've had several visits over the years when I couldn't get to the vet I prefer. They stopped being my primary vet when they charged me three-times the going rate to spay a kitten ($426 -- a huge charge at the time). The fee wasn't a "package" deal: it didn't include vacinnations or visits -- just the surgery and a pain med. The next vet I went to see actually asked to see a copy of the bill and he was at a loss as well.
The vets are good, the staff is better, and they are one of the few offices that can mix flavored meds for pocket pets. But, they are outrageously expensive. Even if their rates had ever been reasonable, the time I've spent in the waiting room would have forced me to move on to an office with some respect for my time. I've never waited less than a half an hour to be seen. If my appointment was at 2:00 pm, I was lucky to be seen by 2:30. It never failed, no matter the time or the day. Maddening.
They're a good office with fine doctors and can be trusted in a pinch. But if you have multiple pets, a schedule to keep, and less than a six-figure income, keep looking. -

I agree they can be expensive, but in the 17 years I have gone to them, I can't think of any place I would rather take my pets. They have taken great care of all my animals, and when my pets were too ill and had to be put down, you couldn't ask for more compassionate caring people. Dr. Stannard and Dr. Kapty are very good about explaining procedures and options and I have never felt pressured to do anything. All of the staff is also kind and compassionate and you can tell they truly love animals. I agree with another reviewer, you get what you pay for. I highly recommend these vets!

After moving back to Livermore I brought my dog to Adobe because it was where my parents took our family dog. If I could give it 0 Stars I would. In comparison to the vets I went to in both LA and Atlanta, this place is outrageously expensive. Just to make an app. its going to cost you $68 and that will not include any treatment or shots. Now they are all very nice and obviously love animals but the $$$ is just not worth it. I am used to a $30 - $40 examine fee. So I brought in my pup 2 times. First was a weird patch of fur that changed color and texture. They couldn't tell me what was wrong but of course still charged me the $68 bucks, and told me to "keep an eye on it". My groomer ended up telling me what it was!! The second visit was due to a small lump, that I was concerned about. Again they couldn't tell me what it was but suggested that I remove it just in case. The process of removing it will cost me $1300 to $1400!!! And they again charged me the $68 for the visit as well at a poop parasite test for $54 bucks. 1. I didn't ask for the poop test, 2. I am paying for 2 different meds so he doesn't get parasites so why the hell would I pay $54 bucks for something I know he doesn't have! Needless to say I'll be taking my pup for a second opinion somewhere else. I don't appreciate paying so much and not getting answers.
