This place is a class act. Not only is their inventory wonderful but the friendliness of the staff is warming. Sue(the owner) embodies the idea of small business and it really shows in the quality of Adobe.

History
Established in 1994
Many years ago I had a store in Palos Verdes, The Best of Mexico. This store spun out of my love for the state of Mexico, their Folk Art and traditions. I grew up in the South Bay area of Los Angeles, very much a surf community, frequenting Baja on our school breaks to surf. I had this shop very young in life, went into advertising where again I was involved in designing.
Life took a turn, met a man lost the job. My friends and powers to be, talked me into opening another store, Adobe Design...named by my daughter and her best friend. It started off with a heavy indigenous flavor and through time has morphed into a more Mediterranean shop...a taste of unique items from around the world. Custom design became a big part of the store: from iron pieces, to jewerly, blessing bottles, greeting cards, coasters and more.
Please visit our website to discover how unique the store really is. Our customer service is excellent, enjoy shopping with a cookie and coffee.
Meet the Business Owner: Sue S.
My passion in life is designing, I have been blessed with a natural gift without a formal education. I have been designing since the age of twelve; I designed and made wardrobes for friends, their moms, my teachers, school cheerleading outfits and prom dresses.
I was the youngest Fashion Manager at Montgomery Wards. Ended the job there and opened "The Best of Mexico" in Palos Verdes, selling Mexican Folk Art, working with Interior Designers making custom bedding and window treatments. Moved to Virginia, opened a store called "The Cottage", providing classes to women in knitting, crocheting, macrame and decoupage plus selling local antiques bought at auctions. Came back to LA and worked in advertising for 13 years as the VP Management and Creative Supervisor in charge of Nestle's National Promotions Account and Sara Lee Fresh, both advertising and promotions. Got married, merged our families (seven children) and decided to stay close to home and opened Adobe in our home town
