Review from Rey L.
This is a nice, convenient park. Pretty inconspicous, between the behemoth Marina condos and busy Admiralty blvd. Unless you live in those condos, or have biked passed here, it's pretty hard to even notice. The only parking is on the north end of the park. The Ralphs on Lincoln has a back entrance to this place. Trust me, it's there.
There are several of those built-in workout things there. You know, the pull up bars, dip bars, balance bars. Things that would have been turned into garbage, had someone not decided to do something constructive with them. The SM bike path goes right through here. It's pretty much the inland part of the path that diverges off of the water. Look both ways when you cross!
Now, there are 2 things that keep me from giving that coveted 5th star.
* Dogs at the park.... It makes me nervous to sit here, on the grass, knowing that there have been dogs around. Obviously, I can't confirm the presence of dog "presents", but, it makes me nervous. Most of the time we come here it's spur of the moment from getting coffee from Starbucks across Lincoln. So, I have to make sure I pick up the paper first so we lay it on the ground.
* The transients.... Considering the property value of the area, I'm pretty surprised at the number of nomadic bums that roam the area and plop down here. They put up tents, bathe in the fountain and pick through the garbage. Kind of suspect. Perhaps thats why they have the rape button posted at the north end.
Oh well, I still like this park. It's convenient, clean and has some nice amenities. And bums. -

I returned to the scene of the crime! Haha this is the very park where I chased down my mugger, a couple of years ago. The tale is included in my review of the Ritz, at the end.

So yesterday it cost me 5 bucks to park. Three bucks in the winter, five in the summer. But it's good for the whole day. There really is nowhere close to this park where you can leave your car for free.
The bike path runs through Admiralty Park, so it's a good spot to park the car and hop on the path, headed toward Venice. Or go the other way through the marina toward Dockweiler. You will be on the road along Washington for a short distance, though, if you go toward Venice, until the path picks up again at the beach by Venice Pier.
Admiralty Park has a nice walking path with a Par Fitness Course.
I think my mid-day mugging was a fluke, an unusual happening. I posted a photo of the wall the offender jumped over, haha. I almost jumped over the wall in pursuit that day, but passersby talked me out of it.
I notice that they have 911 calling stations in the park now, cool! (See photo.)
I could have used one that fateful day, considering the robber took my purse containing my phone.
Anyways, don't be skirred in Admiralty Park! I saw no creepies yesterday. It was delightful.

This is nice to have right outside our door here. It connects with the Marina foot path which I like better for running as it's private and snakes around the Marina so I can oggle the 47 ft Beneteau I really really think I should have.
The beachfront is sandy and kinda meant for kids. There are a ton of BBQs and picnic tables with shade for each one. Everything is really clean. Up at the far end by the Cheesecake Factory there's a little playground too.
