Yay Adivasi! I feel good about plunking my money down here because the owners are wonderful people who care about their employees and their customers. So many beautiful things, curtains and rugs and duvets and tapestries and incense and jewelry....a great place to pop in and get inspired for a birthday present or treat yourself to a little something. I use their train mats for morning stretches and for my pooches to nap on in the chilly months when the floor is cold. Their tapestries hold up well over time and haven't faded much afters years of washing. Their special blend of incense as well as their loose leaf chai mix are shopping staples for me. One of Brattleboro's gems.

Now, I am talking very good vibes in this store. They always burn the best incense on the street outside their front door, which is very groovy. They also have a sign welcoming dogs in their shop.Talk about karma !
I was in the other day to purchase some premium incense to offer as a Christmas gift to someone I love. I ended up also buying a very nice, block print, button down cotton shirt for myself, whom I also love.
Everytime I have shopped in this store for fabric, incense, napkins, even a tongue scraper and some Indian toothpaste, the owner quietly slips a few sticks of free, premium quality incense into my bag.
What can we all learn from this store? Peace, Yo. -

I wouldn't exactly call this a tobacco shop (they describe their wares as "cultural embellishments"). It's an import shop, but with a quirkier eye than I've seen in any other. All of their things are from India: gorgeous textiles, printed calico quilts, carved wooden textile blocks, old water-stained prints of Krishna and his milkmaids dug out of who knows what attics, lovely silk-covered notebooks, standard-issue yoga posters, the usual jewelry. The only downer was the glassy-eyed blonde clerk and the fact that their fantastic book collection (cultural photo tours from the 60s, old Hindu comic books) isn't for sale....

Love this place its always been good to me. I have bought quite a bit of jewelry and Incense among other things. When any friends come for a visit they always make sure to stop in and end up buying something. One friend even bought their circular shaped lunch boxes. The owners are pleasant and always smiling and treat you very well. One of the best places in town to shop.
