My girlfriend and I discovered this gem when we were visiting Lake George for a day trip and saw some "Grand Opening" signs outside the winery and signs that said "wine tasting" as well.  Who could resist a wine tasting?

Our first tasting experience was wonderful.  We received 5 wines to try for $5, and got our wine glass for free.  I also got a lesson in "wine lingo" when the owner told me how to pronounce gerwutztraminer - telling me to just say "Traminer" and I would sound like more of an expert :)

The wine is always fantastic.  I highly recommend the Blushing Trees, the "Traminer", and the Orange Chocolate Port dessert wine.  The aroma of the dessert wine makes it especially nice.

Needless to say, we have been back to Adirondack Winery on multiple occasions now, even planning one trip up to Lake George around it!  The owners are super-friendly and helpful and you can tell they love the business they have chosen.

My only complaint is it's occasionally hard to get a spot at the "bar" to sit down and have your wine tasting because there is limited space.  This isn't something that detracts much from the experience though, so take that with a grain of salt.

This is a must-stop location in Lake George - I can't wait to head up that way again to stop in for a wine tasting and to pick up a few bottles.  Cheers!

Great little winery. The staff knows their stuff and are so nice. For about $5 you can taste 5 wines and you can keep the glass.  The apple flavored wine is my favorite.  Its a sweet white with a nice apple flavor.  If your on Canada Street walking around, you should definetely go in. You won't regret it.

    Service was fantastic.
Price was tough to beat, only wineries let you sample and dang it, that is a great idea.

I got the Pinot Grigio and it was smooth as ice.  Yum...  The other wines were good as well but this one stuck to me.

If ever in the area again, would def go back.

LIke someone else says, a nice change of pace from the t-shirt shops and tourist attractions--wine was a bit expensive and I also agree why they are importing grapes from all the way from California?  Still, if Lake George could have more of this I might come here more often

$5 for 7 wine tastings AND a complimentary wine glass? What is there not to love?? The staff was friendly. You can tell the owner really enjoys what he does for a living! I left with 3 bottles of wine and some very delicious cheese. This place is a nice change of scenery from all the t-shirt shops and arcades in town. Just don't show up without ID. My boyfriend is in his mid-30's and he left his ID @ the motel, so no wine for him! I will definitely return here for some wine and cheese next time I am in town.

pros : affordable, variety, decent reds, and a good location.

cons : so-so service, imported grapes (the fingerlakes are only a few counties over and yet they import grapes from california. sigh...), small interior, and so-so wines (some of the reds were good, but the whites were bland for the most part).

that's not to say i didn't like it. i enjoyed the wine tasting and would recommend it for visitors looking for something very inexpensive and fun to do along lake george.

Go for the tasting--it's some adult fun in a family-oriented town.  I was stuck in lake george for a "destination wedding" and while the date was doing bridesmaid stuff, i was sampling an interesting array of wines.  The staff's super-friendly, but i learned that the grapes come from califonia--and some wines are made from concentrate.  Go for the $2 upgrade and get some cheese with the wine tasting.  I actually walked out with more packages of the sage cheddar cheese than bottles of wine.

My sister and I came here to do the $5 tasting. It was fun, the woman pouring for us was very efficient and friendly. Between the two of us we tried quite of few of the reds and the whites as well as two of the semi-sweets. A couple of the whites were pretty good, the reds were okay, and the semi-sweets; the pomegranite and the blackberry merlot, were WAY too sweet. Overall none of them stood out quite enough for us to buy a bottle, though I was tempted with some of the whites. It was a fun, cheap way to spend some time at the village! What's great about it too, is that it's open quite late, so it was a great way to kill time before the Thursday fireworks show.
