As a belly dancer, hoop dancer, Ren Faire-goer and general costume-lover I'm always looking for great new costume pieces - and wow does Adira have a lot of offer! It seems like every time I wander into this store there are new shiny beautiful things to tempt me. The owner is very nice and will even do special orders for you - she helped me order the perfect ballet dress for my 7-year-old's performance, and she remembered that I once said "If you ever see this in silver...." and had it waiting for me the next time I came in!
Her dance shows are great, too - it's so nice to see the dance community come out and admire and support each other's performances.
What a fabulous resource to have right here in the south bay! -

Wow. There are so many fun and *Sexy* dance outfits here! She sells a lot of beautiful corsets, which I have been informed by the owner, can be worn out to a club with jeans, with a skirt for a classier look, for a costume, beaudoir ( for your significant other ) etc etc
If you are looking for bellydancing attire, square dancing, ballroom dancing, or some sexy, unique work out clothes as well as jewelry shes got it! -

Oodles and oodles of dancewear can be found here. Various styles of bellydance pieces (for a variety of bellydance styles), square dance, ballroom, etc., and so much in between. All beautifully constructed. There's even plenty of cute and unique items that you can wear just because.
My eyes want to pop out of my head from being overstimulated by so much to see (and buy)! Colors and sparklies and lush fabrics abound.
Karen is an absolute doll and will take the time to really help you find what you need. She's very welcoming and knowledgeable. She knows so much about dance and costuming and is happy to share. No snarky attitudes, just genuine help. Why can't every place be this great?!
Definitely a place I would recommend you check out!Listed in: Born to Shop

I love this shop! It has the most interesting and eclectic selection of dance wear! I went in with my daughter ( who is 7 and LOVES this place) to look for ballet wear for her upcoming class. We were given great service, and attended to so well. We made our purchase of the classic black leotard, pink tights and pink ballet shoes. It was all very exciting in there at the time because belly dancers were getting ready for a performance!
I know we will be back for less traditional dance attire when we need it! -

I went into look around and was very impressed. There is a HUGE selection of clothing. There was belly dancing costumes, square dancing outfits, flowing skirts, scarves, tops, bottoms, clothes for Nia, jewelry and other accessories, it was amazing. Then the owner was amazing. She was busy on the phone and helping customers, but as soon as she had one second she checked on me. Then she kindly spent a good deal of time talking to me about teaching, clothing, advertising, a number of things. She is very kind and knowledgeable and generous with her time and knowledge. If you need help and she has the info, she is more than willing to help. I was very lucky to have happened upon this store for great Nia clothes and for expert in dance and costuming.

OMG!!!!! I think I found my new favorite place to shop for belly dancing pieces! The owner was the sweetest lady ever!!! I mean I came in there on a lazy friday afternoon with one of my best girlfriends and she was so awesome. We chatted and browsed forever. HerPRICES ARE HALF of any belly dancing event! That is a huge thing to me. I love so many items that I have to control myself.

What a great store in downtown Willow Glen! I am a tribal style belly dancer and Adira's has a great selection of 15 and 25-yard skirts, sari pantaloons, finger cymbals, and jewelry along with a wide variety of costuming items for other styles of belly dance. But I think what really makes this place five star worthy is Adira herself. Every time I go in, she is super friendly and helpful. She seems to intuitively know when to just let me browse and when to jump in and help me sort out a costume or choose a piece. I never feel pressured by her to buy anything, just gently supported as a dancer and customer. She has a ton of experience and expertise when it comes to costuming and gives great tips and advice. When I went into the store to choose a new pair of finger cymbals a while back, she even let me try her own! She's super awesome and the store is great-- highly highly recommended!

Wonderful place to shop for costumes! And wonderful customer service! I had to buy a slip for my daughter's play, they had a huge selection and the woman helped me find exactly what I needed. Refreshing to find such a great place to buy costumes and to see that there is still a shop that believes in great customer service .

I was searching around for a place that carried blue velvet for my chun li costume. I finally called Karen to see if they had anything at their store and if she could alter it for me and she told me to come in and she would have to take a look. It was difficult to find the location considering it being a rainy day and all, but right when I arrived, she welcomed me with great hospitality. I told her I needed something quick for my halloween costume and that I have not found any other place that would take me at such short notice.
So I went there and we found a 2 piece cobalt blue bra top and pants and she asked me to return with my bra that I was going to wear underneath so that she could make the adjustments necessary. I then returned and she allowed me to use the pants, which she then made into a skirt. I was running back and forth to the fabric store and I hadn't been able to find a blue that matched it exactly, so she took the pants and created a skirt for me. She was so quick in the alterations and I loved going back to her each time because she is so friendly. She definitely knows her ways when it comes to costumes because without her I probably would've had to spend a lot more.
So basically, what she did with the 2 piece that she had at her store was..took the measurements, listened to what I wanted, the top part was made for someone with DD's so she had to do a lot of alterations with that, and with the pants, she converted it to a skirt with very little effort.
I will remember to come back to her for any alterations because she doesn't overcharge. She is a down to earth person and gets her work done real fast. She even gets it done faster than what she says she'll do.
If you want to find a place that has a wide variety of costumes (belly dancing, petticoats, square dancing, vintage clothing) go here by all means.. this is a great place!
