What a lovely, lovely hotel--the place is lovingly restored, beautifully decorated, and is both quirky and charming. My boyfriend and I loved the hand-cranked elevator, the original details in the rooms, and the wonderful collection of old dollhouses on the 4th floor. The hotel staff is warm, helpful and welcoming. I was having trouble deciding between a Standard and a Small room and they showed me two to choose from. I chose the Small room (#40) as it was cheaper--the bathroom was smaller and it had a double bed instead of Queen, but was just as beautiful, with big, fabulous pillows, a couch and a hand-painted bed. The whole place gives you a wonderful sense of what Saratoga Springs must have been like a hundred years ago. I'd recommend going at the start of the season, when you can call ahead to get a great deal. Our small room was $135.

The bar area is gorgeous, especially the back garden, which is hung with lights. Would be a great place to bring a date. I'm taking off one star only because the bar staff seems to need to get the kinks out of their service--I went with a party of 8 for a drink and were told that they don't allow large parties but would make an exception for us--and then acted very annoyed that we were there and took forever to bring our drinks, some of which members of my party found decidedly lacking in alcohol. If they can bring the bar area up to the standard of the rest of the hotel, I can't think of a better weekend escape. So much better than a creaky bed and breakfast where you're forced to chat up strangers...

Delightful.  Right in the middle of town. Very nice staff.  Very old world rooms.

I love the Adelphi. Open from May through October, this hotel is stuffed to the brim with antiques and really gives you a feel of what Saratoga was like during its heyday. If it is open while your strolling by, pop in just to check it out.

I had my wedding here, both the ceremony and the reception, and it was just fantastic. The owner IS eccentric, but I wouldn't say "out of her mind." When she bought the place, it was completely rundown with holes in the roof, etc. I'm so glad that she brought it back to life!

The hotel was actually quite reasonable in its wedding pricing (October). They take care of practically everything which was great for me (coming from out of town). If you are more of a control freak, you might not like that. But they do the catering, cake, most of the flowers... it was great -- once I picked everything out, I was done with the majority of my planning!

Anyway, this hotel is gorgeous. I think it is for sale for a bazillion dollars. If somebody knocks it down, I will absolutely cry.

What a gem! Walking into the beautifully restored and unique Adelphi, you feel completely transported to another time and place. The lobby is stunning, and the rooms--filled with antiques and bric-a-brac--keep up the old-fashioned, charming aesthetic. Absolutely perfect for a romantic weekend getaway (and the bar area is lovely, too).

The best place in Saratoga for a romantic drink . They have a fine complimentary cheese plate at the bar. Drinks are pricey, but worth it.
They also make fabulous coffee and bring you the whole pot. Disappointing however, was an $8.00 piece of soggy pie.

Nice place on the inside and beautiful courtyard. Very pricey! And if you have any problems there, just to let you know, I've heard the manager is out of her mind! Just hope things go smoothly...
