Ok, so I think my original 5 star rating was a bit premature since I had yet to have actual work done there when I wrote my review.

Now that I have had body work and mechanical work done there I have a little better judgment. The place is still awesome my only nitpick is the speed of service. I was quoted 3-4 days my car would be in the shop for body work, but it turned out to be 9 days. Even though they had plenty of time to get the parts needed before I left my car with them.

Even routine oil changes(with an appointment no less!) can take up to an hour. I know they are a busy shop but even in down times it seems like it takes longer than it should.

That said, I still give them 4 stars due to the quality and honest service they give you. Just drop off your car rather than wait and you'll be fine.

    DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE!
If it were possible to rate them with ZERO stars, I would.  My entire experience at Addison makes me very, very sad.  I was recommended to go here by a friend, who after my experience, has vowed never to return as well.
I dropped off my car to get some body work done and I asked the service side to check out the funny noise my car made when I started it. When I dropped off my car, they quoted me $150 to replace a belt that would fix the sound.   A week later, I picked up my car, paid the $150 and when I started it, the sound was still there.
Me: "Hey guys, ummm.... the sound is still there."
Addison: "Uhhh... well... oh yeah... that's totally a common sound found in most Volkswagens.  Some Jettas are just that way."
Me: "Hmmm... that is weird.  I have never heard that sound before and I have driven a Jetta since 2001.  But, I brought in my car for you to fix the sound and it is still there.  I just paid you $150 to replace a belt and the problem is still here."
Addison: "Uhhh... yeah... well I can ASSURE you, miss, that our mechanic would NEVER replace a belt that didn't need replacing.  Your belt must have been going out for sure.  And as far as the sound goes... you know?  It miiiiiight be the start of your starter going out?  But it doesn't seem to be a problem.  You should be fine.  You know... we aren't really good with Volkswagens so it's hard to say."
Me: "OK, well, I guess I trust you guys..."
    SHADY!!!!!!!
My HUSBAND returned with my car and he didn't even have to explain the situation.  Once he said the word, "Jetta," another employee called out to the manager, "Mike!  The Jetta issue is here!"  So they knew what they did was wrong!  They totally changed their story when dealing with my husband.  (It is a shame that a woman still gets taken advantage of in a "family owned" auto shop.  Isn't it 2012?  We still have to send men in with our cars because mechanics continue to screw over women?!)  Then, Mike said he would replace the starter and NOT CHARGE US LABOR.  He would apply my original $150 towards the cost of the starter and we'd call it good.  He looked in his computer and after wheeling and dealing, quoted my boyfriend at $380 for JUST THE PART.  Well, my husband left and went down the street to an auto parts store to get a price quote.  They gave him a receipt with the price being $120.  My husband returned to Addison, pissed off, placed the receipt in front of Mike and accused him of lying.  Mike changed his story again and decided to compare the prices of generic starters with VW starters.   He then went on to say, "The price I gave you included labor."  HE SAID HE WOULDN'T CHARGE US LABOR!!!
    SHADY!!!!!
Finally, we decided to buy our own starter and Addison installed it for free.  We are still going to have it checked by another mechanic to make sure they didn't screw with my car.
Obviously, the entire situation is very sad.  When I dropped off my car initially, I was very impressed with the courtesy of Alecia.  Even Mike seemed trustworthy, but in the end, he couldn't even look me in the eyes.  In fact, he NEVER owned any of this nor apologized for what happened.  All it would have taken was an apology but instead he lied... and then LIED AGAIN.  Not to mention when we picked up my car for the last time, the woman at the front desk couldn't have been more rude!
DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE.  There are many hard-working, trustworthy businesses out there that deserve your money.  Addison does not.

We came here to get our car seat inspected when our baby girl was first born and had a positive experience. However, when we attempted to get our car seat inspected for our nanny's car recently, we not only had to wait a month to get an appointment, but then also Brenda, the inspector, was extremely rude and unprofessional, and blew my nanny off saying she didn't have time for her. After a month of waiting for the chance to make sure my baby was safe, we left empty handed with no more information than when we arrived...well, aside from Brenda telling us, "read the manual." Thanks. Very helpful. Addison should clean up their customer service if they want to instill confidence in their customers...or, in our case, former customers.

Be warned if you get a used car inspection done here.  They will 'find' that many more things are wrong with the car than actually are, and will jack up the 'estimated repair price'.  $450 for spark plugs?  That's a rip off, especially when they are not needed, nor is the milage close to the manufacture's recommended spark plug changeout milage.  $1,600 for a new steering rack when the existing one works just fine?  I don't think I will ever use this place.

I may be better off going somewhere else and that's a good thing.

I may not proceed with any of the services right away, but I like that they were upfront with me.

    1. My car  has many scratches and bumps, but I only want to touch up the scratches. Alyssa told me to try the dealer first since they may have paint in stock, which would be cheaper than Addison recreating the paint just for the scratches.

    2. The mounts for my foglights are broken, which Addison can fix. Their estimate was close to another one I got.

    3. My car needs a full detail, which I may do here. Apparently, they're backed up, so the receptionist informed of a couple of nearby places that may be able to do it sooner.

    4. Finally, another place told me I need to replace my power steering pump, which I though was BS. Gilbert instead suggested blacklighting it first since the car is too new to need repairs that big.

Outside of that, the place is easy to find and the office is very clean. Everyone was very cordial. I can't give it 5 starts since they haven't done any work on my car yet, but so far so good.

Well I should start with the positives... I had some body work done on my passenger door.  The car looks fantastic and I am very pleased with the work.  The staff is courteous and it appears as though they are professional.  I would recommend them for service but it comes with a disclaimer...

Let me start this by saying I understand setbacks and delays but the way my situation was handled was a little irksome.. My estimated time of work was 5 days and I also called in on Thursday to check on the progress.  Everything was said to be going well so I was set to pick it up on Friday.  No call came all day and finally at about 4:30 p.m. I called to see if it was done.  I was informed that there was a delay in the painting and that it wouldn't be ready until Monday.  I have no problem with delays but the fact that it was so late into the day and it was only by my own prompting that I found out that I would be without my car all weekend, was a little disheartening.

A relatively solid outfit but be aware if you are on time constraints.

In the unfortunate event you find yourself in need of an auto body shop, Addison is the place to go in Denver.  When my Nissan Maxima was involved in an accident with a school bus, this was the first time I needed substantial auto body work performed since I moved to Denver away from my former small town in Iowa. I wasn't expecting to find a shop in Denver with the level of personalized service provided by a repair shop in a small town. Addison (and Alysha, the representative who handled my repair) exceeded these expectations. Alysha was up-front and honest from the very beginning, and made sure to tell me exactly what to expect. Everything was clearly communicated, and I was treated respectfully and courteously at all times. Additionally, I was concerned about renting a car (my car was in the shop for 9 days), however, Addison has a relationship with Enterprise, and I didn't have to lift a finger.

All in all, my experience with Addison was a great one and if the need ever arises again for auto body repairs, I will definitely be back.

Avoid Addison Auto Repair & Body Shop at all costs. In a town with plenty of body shops to choose from, there is absolutely no reason to support these unethical, shoddy crooks.

I took my car to Addison Auto Repair & Body Shop to have some simple, minor body work done, mostly repairs to parking garage scrapes, and I can honestly say the car looks worse now than before I brought it in. Addison completely botched every single aspect of the simple job. I should have expected trouble when I had to call three times in one day to simply find out when the car would be ready. Each time I called they had promised to call me back to let me know, but never did. If they could screw something so simple, I should have known they'd wreck my car.

Specifically, Addison Auto Repair & Body Shop messed up the following areas of my car: First, the color of the repainted areas does not match the rest of the car. It's not radically different in color, but it's obvious Addison Auto Repair & Body Shop simply plugged in the OEM paint code into their reference database and painted whatever the computer told them. That's fine for a new car fresh from the factory, but a good body shop will blend the paint to match the actual color of the car, which may have faded or darkened over time. Second, they made a very clumsy attempt to fix a slight dent in a door by bending the body panel, most likely with a wrench or by hand, and badly cracked the original paint in the process. It looks worse now than it did before their supposed "repair." They didn't make an attempt to correct or cover this damage up in any way, and obviously never even looked at the car before delivering it to me. Third, they charged far more than their original estimate, and claimed that these additional charges were necessary because of additional labor involved in the botched bending of the door panel, which cracked the paint on the door. In other words, I had to pay extra to have them add damage to the car, as though this was some sort of bonus. Exactly what their supposed reasons for attempting to rip me off are hard to discern, because Alysha, the manager, is so inarticulate and uninformed about the basic workings of her shop that she was incapable of forming a coherent sentence to explain herself. Either that, or she is a practiced liar.

Addison Auto Repair & Body Shop's proposed recourse was that I could have left the car there for several more days (I needed it that day, not later) for them to attempt to fix it. However, they refused to detail what this supposed "fix" would be, and they refused to adjust their possibly fraudulent total that they insisted I pay them to get my damaged car back. I argued with them in a vain attempt to get them to do the right thing and fix their damage and lousy work, but honestly, the thought of dealing with these scumbags for any more time than I already have makes me vomit a little.

If they did such an awful job to begin with, why would I want to leave my car and give them an opportunity to damage more of it?

Obviously, I am contacting a lawyer to see if I have any legal recourse for dealing with with these criminals, as well as filing complaints with the local Better Business Bureau and AAA. Crooked shops like Addison Auto Repair & Body Shop should be shut down. I'm thankful sites like Yelp give an individual customer the opportunity to inform other customers of potential rip-offs.

Addison Auto Repair & Body Shop embodies the worst stereotypes about crooked, shady body shops. If you want to get ripped off, feel free to take your car here.
