My name is Rachelle, and I have an Addiction problem.
I am addicted to Addiction Hair studio!
I wanted to throw out a little tip for those of you who are looking to get your hair done...(anywhere)
Try not to suck at being a client.
(gasp)
I realized that part of why I love going to this particular salon is because of the people that work there. When I call or walk into the salon, they know how much I love their work, them, and the environment of the salon.
I admire that the people who work there are friends and that Mark's (the owner) mother(also a stylist) will come by and offer me water and call me " baby."
(not in a creepy way but in a -- she will help me with my boo-boo if I ever fell down, kind of a way)
Anyway, I left there yesterday feeling like a superhero, Rouge (X-Men) to be exact, and had the best time with Lydia(stylist this time), Katherine, Mark, and their receptionist Nicole.
Remember: Be a delight and find how much you will be delighted.
Sidenote: I do things with my hair other's may not do but the point is: they do great. If you are just looking for layers, a trim, some bangs...they got you covered.

I have been going to Addiction hair salon for 5+ yrs. I originally followed my stylist Aundreia there. After she left I was heartbroken.... My hair would never be the same! Then I found Katherine Katherine is incredible. She is extremely open to trying new looks (her hair is always full of color), she is fast (doesn't laggggg) and she is good at what she does. I typically get blonde highlights, low-lights and sometimes color. I drove from SF for years to get my hair done by her and its totally worth it. Sad to say now I live in NYC and the fight doesn't really make sense anymore. Thanks for all the beautiful hair Katherine.
The salon itself is great: Fully remolded, clean and very modern inside, always playing great music.
Prices: You can't beat them!! Incredible!
People: Mark and Ray and whole staff are nice, friendly and always make it a great experience. -

Writing this during my experience! I wanted to get my hair chemically relaxed, and this place had good reviews on Yelp. So we shall see the rating at the end.
The initial call with Naomi was good. I couldn't get a booking that weekend, so I made one for the weekend after. It's only my second time getting a chemical relaxer, so I'm understandably nervous... However, even with my phone phobia it was relatively painless. Very nice.
She had told me I'd get a confirmation phone call a few days before, which is usually code for 'reminding you of your appt, show up or I will end you.' Which is fine, I made the appt, I wouldn't miss it. The call came the night before... I again wouldn't have minded but I had plans (getting stoned off my gourd) and wasn't able to answer the phone (literally couldn't figure it out). I call back the next morning before heading out and get told my appt now overlaps with another client's. ...really? I actually needed to CONFIRM it? Uh... Well. As long as this is still happening.
Inside now... Clean place, playing the news, set up well. Everybody just comes up to you to offer something while you wait, SO cute. :) But, my hairdresser left and it's exactly my time... Whatevs, I'm always late, I don't mind waiting a few minutes. :) Although. There is a giant cutout of Edward Cullen just sitting there and JUDGING me.
The relaxer went relatively well; I got the standard 'but you have such pretty curls' comments. I'm a terrible customer and haven't had my hair relaxed in 4 years, so I went in with slightly wet hair (LIKE A BOSS) and had to dry it first... And I had no idea what sort of relaxer she'd used, just that it was BOMB. So we sort of went into this blind. When I made the appt, I had specifically asked her to flat-iron it and cut it, but I was worried about using up all of her time and running into this mysterious 'other appointment' so when she sort of forgot, I didn't request it. Mistake. But mostly on me as a shy customer.
It's a few days later and I still can't wash my hair or deep condition it, but it's looking a lot calmer. My biggest complaint is the chemical burn on my forehead, kid you not. It's small, but yeah, I got burned. Also it was burning on my scalp, which I'm told isn't supposed to happen if it's done right; we had to rinse it out early. Anyway. It was good, I enjoyed the place and the people, but I think I'll pay a little more at a place my ethnic friend recommends next time. Would've gotten 4 *s save the mistake of burning my forehead. Otherwise, she's a good bi-racial stylist, and acted very knowledgeable. -

If your hair stylist doesn't have bomb hair, then you might have a little problem. However, this isn't a problem here, since Katherine has the coolest hair ever! If I could do a review on her hair, I'd get 329832 stars!
Anyhow, my asymmtrical bob lost its shape and Katherine chopped it back into shape, while we chatted about boys. Really? How much more fun could you have? -

Hiba did such a fantastic color on my hair! My hair is long so it did take time, but it was well worth it. She colored and highlighted my hair and I have not been able to stop touching it since. She is very efficient and took her time to make sure it looked great. She was so sweet and easy going. The entire staff was so friendly there as well. I highly recommend Hiba for anybody looking to get their hair done.

This was my first visit, and let me tell you, this place rocks! Hiba was my stylist, and she did a fantastic job! I will definitely be going back here in the future! As soon as I walked in, Nicole greeted me very politely. The other stylists who were working said hi as well. Only later did I find out it was Nicole's birthday and they offered me some cake and pie from the special occasion! The studio is quite elegant, definitely nicer than where I used to frequent! Everyone here is wonderful, I highly recommend Addiction Hair Studio! And again, Hiba is amazing!

This place is great...I have lived in Fremont my entire life and never even went inside Addiction Hair Studio until recently,mostly because I never realized what a great little salon this is. If you need a cut, color, style, whatever....go to Addiction Hair Studio and ask for Lydia...she's the best!

OK I have to admit I plagiarized this review but to be honest Patsy A. said it best. Kudos to you Patsy!!! I have curly hair and it is almost impossible to find some who cuts curly hair well. Well, with Mark I never have to worry.

I've driven by this place so many times, but never even knew it existed. On the outside it looks like it has the potential to be some sketch salon, but the inside looks totally professional. When it comes to haircuts, I'm pretty particular, and I'm always afraid of trying out new people. I usually get my haircut near school in SoCal, so I was searching for a place in Fremont. After searching Yelp, I decided on this place, and I'm so glad I did. Lydia did an amazing job! She offered suggestions, took her time cutting my hair, and was really friendly. I'll definitely be back!

My favorite stylist at Addiction is Aundreia. She has been doing my hair (cut, color, style and updo's) for years and I will not consider going to anyone else. Wherever this gal goes, I will go. Her specialty is cut, color and straightening treatments and boyyyy she does it well!!!!
Whether she's coloring me up in the darkest dark and my lightest light she provides the best recommendations to keep my hair conditioned and healthy. If I ask for a drastic color change, she explains that it can't just happen with the flip of a switch and works it in so that the change is gradual over a few appointments. And my cut....I always have the best looking layers thanks to Dreia!
Lastly, the salon is beautifully decorated and as Aundreia's son said, it looks like the FUTURE! =) Every 8 weeks, I'm here for anywhere from 2-3 hours getting my hair did and I'm happy with the service. Mark, Ray and Aundreia make it such an inviting atmosphere that I don't mind spending hours here. -

Being stopped on the streets and complimented on my hair is something that happens regularly thanks to Mark Anthony. I have several girlfriends that go to him...but it took me about a year to get a regularly schedule time on his books. I happily wait when I need too (especially now that they are located right next door to my favorite Mexican restaurant). Yep, I will also drive 45 miles every 5 weeks for a cut or color. Mark is FABULOUS, I highly recommend his services and do every time I get stopped on the street.
To get your foot in the door, be sure and schedule a day time appointment during the week, then make sure you don't flake or cancel (unless it's a REAL emergency) and you'll move your way up in the ranks. I love Mark A. and Ray, and of course Anita is always there to give you a lovely head massage!

If I could give -5 stars, I would. The one time I did go here, they did a semi-decent job, so I decided to book another appointment over the phone with them. I made an appointment, but realized a few weeks later that it was on the same day as my sister's high school graduation. I called to reschedule, and Mark picked up. He took down my name and number and said he would call back since he had "2 clients", but never did. So I called them again 4 days later (yes, 4), and said I needed an appointment. It was Mark on the phone, yet again, and he said he would take a message and call me back since supposedly he had color on his hands. I asked when I could expect a call back, and he said in the snarkiest way "when I don't have color on my hands." Then hung up on me immediately. Umm, are you f*cking kidding me? Bad customer service. Mark needs to wipe the diva attitude and proceed to get major reconstructive attitude surgery. Addiction is not some fancy salon in the city, LA, or NY that actually has some legitimate claim to an attitude like that. Get over yourself.
And really Mark, if you had color on your hands, how did you answer in the first place? Maybe it's the whole high school dropout attitude that dictates a lack of common sense on his part, but if you're going to lie, at least make it a believable one. And please, at the very least, take a class on customer service or PR--you could certainly use it.
*note above how I said that Mark himself said he had two customers. Umm, is double booking clients and working on them at the same time really a good idea? I prefer my hair appointments to last an hour and a half at most, not 3--and I prefer my stylist to focus on me only and not divide their time between me and someone else--learn some time management skills while you're working on customer service* -

I went to this salon about a week ago, read most of the reviews and thought it was worth a try. Boy what a mistake. I originally wanted to get booked with one the two guys, instead i got booked with Danielle. While she was very pretty her hair cuting abilities lacked. I was not satisfied with my haircut at all. its to bad

Yah.... For Great Do's! Hair do's that is!
I have been a client of Mark Anthony's for many, many years- wow that happened fast! I have gone from medium length to short-short, back to longer and every time I am always so in love with the style and cut! I always get great compliments- I don't know why it takes me so.... long to get in for a cut- guess I always want my hair longer than it is so I wait and what a mistake that is.
One TIP: Don't miss your appointment b/c it is hard as hell to get in and then you have to walk around with not so cute hair for too ... many days!
Mark does a fabulous job, just tell him exactly what you like- book an appointment -it might take you a little time to get one, but be patient it is all worth the friendly, fun, environment of the people at addiction Hair Studio!
Also try Katherine. She is so.... adorable and she is a hair stylist too. She takes new clients so if you are looking for a new look, and a new, refreshing attitude give her a call! -

Great place. I had gone to 3 hair stylists telling them that I wanted the latest A line hair cut and they never did it. Then I saw someone had nice hair cut, & she recommended Ray @ this salon; but Ray has been absent for medical reasons, so Katherine cut my hair.
It is a great place, I like my hair cut. Katherine really finds out what you want, what your needs are, what your lifestyle is, how you are going to maintain your hairstyle and then does the hair cut. I love it.
Finally I found a good salon and I am keeping it. I gave real extra tip for my happiness. -

Mark has been cutting my hair for a long time. I have never had a better haircut. My wife gets her hair done by Mark also. He does an excellent job. i've never seen her hair look better than when she comes home. We live in Danville and go to Fremont for Mark. Nice place also. Mark's mom who works here is a real sweetheart.

Went here for 1st time last week because former stylist at former hair salon was habitually late - the last time they wanted me to wait an hour- so found this place on YELP. I have short curly hair and they set me up with Lydia. She was fast, she was fun and my haircut is very, very cute. You do not have to spend $65 and more to get a great haircut in Fremont. I totally an hooked on this place - no attitude nor super egos. Just professional, friendly folks doing what they love doing.

Me and my family have been going to Mark for many years before he even opened the salon, we have followed him every where. We're never disappointed he gives great cuts, my mom always goes to him to get colored and highlights. The salon it's self is nice, edgy, and everyone who works there is friendly. I definitely recommend this salon.

I just had a great experience here. I was feeling pretty down from being unemployed and starting a divorce, and decided that I really, really needed a pick-me-up so desperately, it's not even funny. Well I walked right in without an appointment and was immediately helped by Katherine. She is so cool. We had an excellent conversation and I was so enveloped by it that I barely noticed time going by, until all of a sudden my cut was done and it looked really good on me. She did everything to my hair that she promised in the consultation at the beginning, and now I feel a lot better about my appearance.

I had my first visit to Addiction this past week and I know I'll be coming back!
I have been holding off on changing my hair until closer to my wedding date, but alas, I forgot about the engagement photos, and needed to go to someone to clean me up a bit (7 months without a trim or color made me feel like I had an animal growing up there). So I looked on Yelp for a place in Fremont and read the reviews. The name of the studio stood out so I made an appoinment.
I had a cut and color with Danielle. She is great. She made sure to do a color swatch first so that the new highlights would blend in with the old highlights. She also trimmed the ends to get rid of the split ends, but she also gave me layers (the last ones grew out). But she kept in mind that I needed the length for the wedding.
The studio is very neat and clean. There wasn't someone else's hair trimmings on the floor or the seats. All the stylists had such great rapport with their clients.
Danielle is new to the studio. But I would highly recommend her services.
I've gotten so many compliments from people about how great the new 'do is! Even the fiance thought it was sexy! -

OMG! It took me almost a year to go to a stylist since I moved and I am so glad I went here! Kathleen is amazing! She takes her time to make sure she knows what you want, she's funny and talented and finishes off by showing you how to style it at home. I loved everything about my experience and have the sexy hair to show for it!

I am not a girly girl and I probably cut my hair every 18 months, so I found this place on Yelp and am very glad I did! I did call ahead and got an appointment with Katherine. She does a great job finding out what you're looking for, how to fit it with your lifestyle, and she gives incredibly useful advice and suggestions personally customized just for you! Kinda makes you realize how hair stylists don't just do hair, they have to read people to do their job right, the way the client wants it. I was very happy, made sure to tip Katherine, and am looking forward to coming back again!

I had my first appointment at Addiction Hair Studio about a week ago. The studio was hip, clean, there were quite a few other clients but it was not packed (it was around noon on a Friday). My appointment was with Katherine and she was available right away. She was really nice! She listened carefully to what I wanted and also added her own suggestions. After the consultation and shampoo, she proceeded to give me a very careful haircut. She was focused and took her time - and yet we were able to squeeze consultation, shampoo and styling into my lunch hour. After the cut she gave me some styling tips and product suggestions. I like that she introduced products rather than actively pushing them onto me. Shampoo and haircut were $40 before tip. Aside from being a genuinely nice person, I thought Katherine was also hip, skilled, and professional. I would definitely come back here again.

Wonderful place to get your haircut! I had Lisa who was a great listener and made sure what I wanted was intact of course with her great input, it turned out to be SUCCESS!! So i know that sometime when you try to explain how you want your haircut to certain hairdressers, they tend to subtle it down, I was always disappointed as to why they didn't do what I asked exactly. But today I was happily surprised that Lisa had the balls to do what I asked of her! I will certainly be coming back! She did a wonderful A line bob that was SHORT! I got compliments all the way home! Love it! She even introduced me to these color clips to use as 'fake highlights' which I adored! I am truly happy with this place. It has reasonable prices and great upbeat attitude!
