Rachel the Pirate came to our house for our daughter's birthday and didn't break character the entire time she was here. She was fantastic - her amazing balloon art, fun magic, and beautiful face painting captivated us all. She is super nice and has attention to detail.

By having her at the party the pressure was off to entertain so many people and we felt like we could actually enjoy ourselves. The most organized party we've ever thrown. Thanks Rachel!!

After attending many children's parties and hosting them myself, I learned this past Sunday, that there a two types of children's party "entertainers". The first are the ones that dress up as your favorite character, put on a mask, stand and wave not uttering a single word while a tape recorder does the talking for them.(which it totally out of sync by the way).

And then there is Rachel, a True Entertainer, and WOW, we were, adults and children, were completely impressed. She came in as a Pirate and never broke character, not even once. When she arrived, she quickly accessed the situation, rounded up the children up with pirate talk, and began to make pirates balloon swords which the children loved and played with throughout the party, followed by awesome face painting and I am not talking about a simple happy face and rainbow. Her work was very detailed and she handled everything with ease.

On a side note, I had to reschedule the location of the party due to rain, and Rachel was very professional about it. She even recommended several locations as a replacement.

I definitely recommend Rachel for your party:)

Even before meeting Rachel at our daughter's party she was a delight to talk to and work with.  We hosted a 2nd Yo Gabba Gabba party which Rachel didn't already have a costume for (surprise, surpise!) but she definitely accomodated us and came dressed as DJ Lance and rocked the party with the kiddies.  Her facepainting and balloons were like no other and she's fast (but  not rushed) so she was also able to fit in parachute play and singing with the kids.  Many of the parents asked me where I found her (Yelp!) and the kids were following her around everywhere because they just loved her.  Thank you Rachel for making our daughter's party even more special.  We look forward to seeing you again at our party's!  Yo Gabba Gabba :)

We had "the fun fairy" out for a 2 year old birthday party and she was totally up for the challenge of entertaining a crowd of mostly adults and a couple kids.  Everyone was very impressed how enthralled the children were with her from her arrival and through the entire hour she was there.  She definitely has a way with them!  We opted for face painting and balloons, both were great, and Rachel was extremely professional through the whole process of booking and arranging logistics.  Her care, attention and experience certainly showed.  Highly recommended!

Rachel is a fun, energetic entertainer. Her face painting was the hit of the party. Will definately ask her back next year.

Rachel from Add Some Fun is absolutely great! I first saw her at a 2 year olds birthday party where she made amazing balloon animals, trains, and cars even Nemo. I hired her for my son's 3rd birthday party to do balloon animals and face painting for his little friends. She was an absolute thrill for the kids - anything that the kids requested she would make from Dinosaurs, to fairy wings, McQueen the car, drag racers, and Thomas the train. The face painting that she does is also amazing. For instance, one little boy wanted to be a lion and she did an amazing transformation with face painting and balloons to make him look just like a lion. I have only wonderful things to say about her work and would highly recommend her for any children's party your kids will have a blast.

Rachel the Entertainer from Add Some Fun can be whomever you want her to be. She can capture a group from 2 to 12 and all combined! Phenomenal balloons and facepainting as well as magic. She painted 15 faces and did balloons all in costume at an outdoor party for our son's fourth birthday -- all in record time. She can really hold their attention, too. All the kids (boys and girls -- and especially including our birthday boy) were thrilled with her firefighter. We've also seen her as Princess Leia and she comes highly recommended from other families in our preschool from their birthday parties. She has quite a few other tricks/characters/activities up her sleeves... Rachel is a real trooper.

I contacted Rachel at the last minute and luckily, she was able to fit our birthday party for my 7 year old daughter into her hectic schedule. I was extremely impressed with her great "can do" attitude and level of communication.  She was extremely professional and helpful every step of the way and it was a delight to work with her. She did face painting, balloon creations and a magic show for the kids. The kids had a blast and they all loved her!  The parents were entertained as well!  Thank you Rachel -- you are the best and I appreciate you accommodating us at the very last minute.

I researched and researched to find the best balloon entertainer in the city... and I found her!!!  Rachel was AMAZING....  we hosted a party of nearly 50 adults and 20 children for our twins and she had everyone entertained.  She masterfully grabbed the children's attention and was able to keep it for the duration of the party. The balloon creations were amazing and the face painting the best I've ever seen.  Plus her Ringleader costume was perfect for our CIRCUS theme.  I would hands down recommend her.

My daughter is obsessed with Pippi Longstocking. So naturally I wanted Pippi to show up at her 2nd birthday party. When I asked Rachel if she could do Pippi, she responded: "Hmmmm, I've never had a request for Pippi, but I have a red wig, so I am sure I can create her."
    GREAT CAN DO ATTITUDE!
When Pippi arrived, my daughter was shocked. She could not believe that Pippi actually came to her party. Not only did she have the full on outfit, she new Pippi's full name (Pippilotta Ephraim's Daughter Longstocking), learned how to say hello, goodbye, thank you and please in Swedish, and, of course, brought Mr. Nilsson with her (Pippi's trusted monkey friend). There was not a kid at the party who wasn't smitten by her kooky antics (incidentally, we had the party at the park and all the kids in the playground were dying to join in on the fun). Just the fact that she did the extra research around the character told me that she was definitely the right pick. Most little kids would probably not have known the difference, but Rachel wanted to be true to Pippi and really made it a point to show up to the party in full character. Bravo!

    Some highlights:
She made balloon flowers, butterfly wings and swords, which the kids clung to throughout the fun and games. She had them captivated at circle/song time with her fun props and did great parachute/blanket games. Her face painting skills were quick and immaculate, and all the kids got a chance to get their character of choice.

She was, as some of the other reviewers say, a delight to work with from the very beginning. She was professional, very organized and so sweet and loving to the kids. I am so so happy that I found her.

    Tack tack Pippi!

Oh, I forgot to mention that it was the MOST frigid windy day of the year. Pippi - clad in her T-shirt/dress and knee high stockings didn't complain once! I apologized for the freezing weather and asked if she wanted a coat and she said in character: "No thanks, I'm the strongest girl in the world" (which, in case you didn't know,  Pippi is!) So while all the kids and parents wore their parkas and hats, Pippi went about as though it was the nicest day of the year. That's commitment!

Rachel is amazing! We hired her for my daughter's 3rd birthday and she was such a hit. From the first email she was professional and a true pleasure to work with. On party day she was on time and decked out in a beautiful purple fiery costume. The kids loved it! From the moment she walked in the door it was on and everyone enjoyed themselves. I was so impressed with how much she was able to do in the short time she was with us - face paining, balloons, songs, parachute play - and make it look easy. If you are looking for a fun, reliable, and a truly talented entertainer for your party, I cannot recommend Rachel enough.

Rachel truly is a master entertainer!
She led our twin daughters' birthday party in her Dora persona and came prepared with an "adventure" game, songs, perfect costume and props, elaborate and creative balloons, additional games and songs -- incredible.
She held the attention of 28 3-5 year-olds for almost two whole hours - -magical.  My girls played with the balloon airplanes that she made for them for days thereafter.
I could not be more emphatic in my endorsement of Rachel!

I totally agree with all the other rave reviews -- Rachel truly is AMAZING!
We hired her for our 2 year old's birthday party and she was able to pack in several activities and fully entertain all 16 little party guests (ranging from age 1 to 5) all in an hour!
Her face painting is the best I've ever seen at any party or fair/amusement park and she does it with lightening speed -- which is good when you have a long line of kids wanting to get their face/arms/hands painted.
She also made all sorts of awesome balloon creations from pirate swords to fairy wings.  Then just when I thought she couldn't possibly fit in any more activities, she started doing sing-a-longs with props which the kids absolutely loved!
Her demeanor is so warm, friendly, and fun, and she truly made an effort to engage every single child.  She even somehow managed to remembered all of their names!
After the party, I received so much great feedback about her and now all the moms are considering hiring her back to our condo building for a Halloween party this year.

We had Rachel come for my 3 year-olds birthday party last month and everyone loved her.  She came as Dora and all of the kids followed her around (when she was leading them in an adventure around the house) in awe.  My son is especially shy... he made it clear to me he did not want his face painted or for anyone to sing him Happy Birthday.  I told Rachel about this, and she handled him perfectly... way better than I could have ever hoped.. she gave him distance and he ended up following her around with everyone.  At the end of their adventure, it was time for them to sing happy birthday to my son, as they had found the treasure (a small cake), and my son ran away.  Rachel had all the kids crowd together and whisper the happy birthday song, and by the end, my son was right there with everyone, singing.  In addition to handling my son perfectly, Rachel is incredible with the balloon and face art.  She is extremely talented and worth the money.  All of the other parents were asking me how I found her!
