A last minute meeting in DC prompted my booking, and as always (this is my 5th stay) I found Adams Inn to be the perfect resting place in a busy town.

I took my fiance to Adam's Inn and was very pleased with the relaxing environment of the neighborhood and cozy feel of the room and sitting areas. We attended the inn in mid-January, which I guess is the off season but it was still nice to relax and visit local shops and restaurants in the Adams Morgan area.
I was so grateful for the hospitality at the Inn after I forgot some items in my room upon check-out. The staff was so helpful and even mailed me my things!
Free internet, clean rooms, lovely location (close to the National Zoo, Queen's Hookah, and a plethora of restaurants and shops). -

I've never stayed @ an inn before. That being said...this was the most pleasant experience ever! I have not one bad thing to say. Free internet, hot shower, cute (clean) rooms, & the location alone is worth five stars. If you're not familiar w/ DC, Adams Morgan is in the heart of the craziest bar scene. You are within walking distance from it all. What really made my stay was the lady @ the check-in desk. She was so funny & accommodating...
My girlfriend & I stayed on a Friday & Saturday. We were running the Marine Corps Marathon on the following Sunday & had no where to store our luggage! The lady (I wish I knew her name...) allowed us to leave our stuff there until we returned. She even let us shower after the race! That just sealed the deal for us.
Do yourself a favor & stop looking for other places to crash: The Adam's Inn is quaint, charming & stellar all-around. Cheers! -

Amazing place to stay. Not a bad walk at all from Metro. Nice neighborhood, cute rooms, a great porch to hang out on, free wi-fi, and hostel-style breakfast included.
In short, an excellent value, and I'll go back there next time I go to DC. -
Review from Diana T.
On my first trip to DC this past Sunday to Tuesday, my friend and I took advantage of a discounted voucher to stay at Adam's Inn. The inn is situated in a quaint, residential tree-lined neighborhood near a commercial strip replete with great restaurants, cafes and bars. A bit of a walk to the metro but still worth it to stay in such a cute neighborhood (a $15 short cab ride will get you to the National Mall. Cabs are easy to hail in the area). The inn consists of three cute homes that are located side by side, in appearance it's an inn but very little felt homey about our stay. The breakfast served is continental-no eggs, pancakes, waffles, bacon. Have never stayed in a "b&b" that provides a self-serve, continental breakfast-big disappointment. The room we were in was nothing to rave about-decent but not B&B style cute (although the furniture was vintage and attractive the decor as a whole lacked a signature touch). Aside from bars of soaps, no other toiletries were provided- no shampoo or conditioner. When I walked in one of the first things I noticed was a handwritten sign taped to the wall asking that we not turn on the AC-tacky (it doesn't take that much effort to print a sign, I mean really, come on). The Inn common area is cozy, smartly decorated and snacks, water and coffee/tea are available at all times. Now I have to get to the last and worse part of our stay-the staff or at least the first staff member who greeted us (or rejected us)-by far the rudest, oddest hotel staff person I have ever experienced. When we walked in, she matter of fact-ly said, "so what's up" to my friend in a so what are you doing here kind of tone and stared at him blankly. Duh, we were there to check in. Because it was 1pm she wouldn't check us in early, we didn't make a big deal about it-just left our bags in the bag area. She was short and dismissive with my friend explaining that she had laundry to do but when we left we saw her in the office area. Before we stepped out to sight see, my friend asked her suggestion about seeing the Holocaust memorial museum. She explained to him that her daughter had spent 3 hours but that it is easy to spend hours there, according to him (I was in the bathroom when this occurred) he gasped at the suggestion of spending 7-8 hours in a museum. To this she condescendingly responded, "well if you were a Jewish mother from Brooklyn whose family died in the Holocaust, you could spend 4 days there". Who says that! When I came out of the bathroom, I asked her a question about the subway, she sounded confused so I corrected myself and called it the metro. She said she didn't know what that was, I explained to her how I got to the inn from the Amtrak station, by taking a train, but she played dumb. She said that the metro did not exist in D.C-um okay, what ever. I dropped that subject and asked for some recommendations to go sight seeing (obviously in The National Mall area) -of course she was not helpful-what's new-and did not make an effort to look at the map with me. She offhandedly suggested we walk to the 18th street commercial strip before she walked off. (Either management needs to fire that woman or get her some professional help). That was my experience with the customer service that Adam's Inn as to offer.

Great location in a residential neighborhood yet really close to nightlife, restaurants and coffee shops in Adams Morgan. Clean and simple, I appreciated the low key atmosphere. Stayed on the third floor: be prepared for narrow, steep stairs with your luggage. Bring your own shampoo, conditioner, etc. because there are no amenities--there's a grocery store and drugstore just around the corner. Breakfast was straight forward and decent options. Nothing fancy here but no one up in your business either: would stay here again for weekday affordability.

This b&b is located on a cute residential street in Adams Morgan and overall is quite nice. Definitely homey and comfortable. If you're hauling a bunch of luggage it can be a bit inconvenient -- it's about a 15 walk to the Woodley Park metro. But, staying in a quiet place definitely has a lot of value.

I liked this place. It was on a little street in a cute neighborhood. The only con to staying here was the fact that we had to share a bathroom, but you can pay more to get your own. We didn't have any issues with waiting, anyway. Our room was right next to the lounge area, so we could hear everything!! The staff was awesome except for the cleaning lady banging into stuff in the computer room starting around 8 AM. I would recommend, just try to get a room upstairs or away from the breakfast area.
There is a lot of cool stuff on 18th street, which is 2 blocks away, and the metro station is about a 15 minute walk. -

My mother, stepfather and aunt all stayed here for my wedding. They really liked it. For one thing, it's in a bona fide neighborhood, on a tree-covered street, but it's also in close walking distance to Adams Morgan fun. Plus it's only 4 blocks from my house :-).
The rooms were cute and well-kept, as was the whole house. I heard breakfast was good, and the staff was very pleasant.
I wont' hesitate to recommend it again when we have guests from out of town.Listed in: Places to take Mom

Loved the location. Loved the staff. And I loved the quaint feeling of the property. My only word of wisdom is beware of the English basement. If you choose to rent this room be prepared for lots of creaking floors above during continential breakfast time (7am-9am). Other than that it was centrally located..a block away from all the action. Great staff.

Honestly, 3* even though the location and price point is amazing. A bit of a hike coming up from dupont circle or from woodley park metro but it's better than paying for a cab or waiting on the bus. The office manager could have been more explanatory in what the B&B offered, but seemed too busy. Room 101 is great if you want to slip in and out of the place with ease, but it sucks because it is right next to the lounge area and computer station where people are always lingering. The Adams Inn B&B consists of three houses and some small casita/cottages in the back.
Cons: windows are covered with ugly opaque film, instructional signs taped to everything, cheap fixtures in bathrooms, first floor bathroom door only has a hook latch not a door lock or anything substantial, luggage check is unsecured, not enough outlets to charge all my gear.
Pros: no tv so I'm not tempted to stay in my room, fantastic location/ great safe neighborhood, fire station across the street, but they don't sound their sirens in the middle of the night like they do downtown. Guest use kitchenette and free computer and wifi (albeit slow as a mother).
Definitely a great option if you're looking to stay in a hip neighborhood with lots of restaurants, bars, clubs, and shops that are open late. Otherwise, if you don't mind traveling a little further (maybe 7-10) blocks, you will have an even better time staying at the Swann House on 17th & NH. -

Very nice bed and breakfast that is pet friendly. I'd stay here again for sure. I enjoyed having my own entrance (had the basement room).

I had a great time during my stay. The staff were all amazing and I ended up having the best dill chicken salad sandwich in their gorgeous courtyard. It's a really neat setting in the heart of DC. It doesn't feel like your staying in a generic hotel and I loved that.

Portland, OR
Very cute and comfortable. Lots of charming details, and the people are very friendly.
My only complaints are that:
1. For rooms that have a shared bathroom, that the bathroom maybe was being split between too many people because we had some long waits to take a shower
2. There is a fire station right across the street, so we got woken up a couple of times by sirens.
3. The breakfast only lasted I think from 8:00-9:30, which was after when we needed to be out, so we never got any breakfast.
So, none of those things are deal-breakers. As long as you're forewarned to anticipate some minor annoyances, I think that you'll be very satisfied. -

I did a duel buisiness/pleasure trip to DC and this hotel was a ten minute walk to the conference hotel, two metro stops, the Zoo, and a one minute walk to downtown Adam's Morgan. We are a younger couple so it was really great to have breakfast included and a kitchen area where we could make sandwiches for the day (Safeway was right down the street). Coffee&Tee as well as fresh baked cookies and candy were always available. The rooms were clean and attractive, although, the bathroom was shared...we never had a problem where we couldn't use it and there was a sink area in the room. Take advantage of the garden patio if you have time. The biggest pro's here are the attention to detail, the location, the friendly staff, and the value. The biggest con is the squeaky floor.
