Came for short business trip and stayed at Adam's house for 2 nights. Really charming place. Erik was very helpful. Good breakfast. Had a nice and friendly discussion with the lovely cook. Will come again.

Nice neighborhood, pretty tree lined streets, historic homes and the Adams House. Located in the Hyde Park area of Austin. Eric and Liz were so friendly. When you walk in the inn, you feel like it is someone home. Even with all the antiques, you could walk in and sit down and go to the kitchen ,have tea or whatever. Felt very comfortable.
We stayed in The Hyde Park room at the top of the stairs. Ok, the floors creak, but the house is 100 years old and tastefully restored. This room was very quiet considering we were right next to the staircase. It was quiet and the bed was heavenly.
Breakfast was delicious. They make their own granola (no peanuts. YAY!) and I should have taken a bag and took some with me. It is really good. THey should sell it. Also, there was sausage and a Mexican Frittata. Fresh juice, coffee, tea and yogurt and muffins with jam. Very nice. Nice. We need to return to stay more than one night! -

The Adam's house is fantastic. It's a beautiful historic old building, wonderfully renovated. It's in the middle of Hyde Park, and just steps away from a number of really excellent restaurants (in all different price ranges and types of food). There is a grocery store on the next block, and buses that take you to the UT campus and the stadium in about 5 minutes.
Both the people who run the Bed and Breakfast are wonderful and incredibly helpful. They have definitely made my stay very relaxing and fun.
I recommend this to anyone who wants to be in a really wonderful environment - somewhere that is unique and charming - inexpensively priced (for what you get) - and is just an all around excellent experience. -

This place was a lovely restored historic quiet home in the heart of Hyde Park. There were quaint stores as well as a twenty four hour automated post office located in walking distance.
The inn keepers were charming and had a wealth of local knowledge about where to see music and where to dine. There attention to detail made our stay even more enjoyable.
Breakfast was great. For tea drinkers their was a full assortment of teas with a carafe of hot water as well as carafe of coffee. One day we were served a locally made smoked kielbasi from Elgin TX. Every day there was fruit salad, orange juice, and lovely table settings. Our room was comfortable and had a nice European style shower with ample hot water. -

My bf and I were in town last weekend for President's Day and stayed in the Elisabet Nay Room at the Adams House. I went to school at UT, and have always loved Hyde Park, so it was a perfect location. The house itself was beautiful....unfinished wood floors, high ceilings, etc, and the owner was an amazing southern woman.
When we're in Austin again, we'd definitely stay here. -

Just stayed at the Adams House with our daughter over the long Thanksgiving weekend in the bungalow. Really nice place, walking distance to a ton of things, phenomenal breakfasts, and innkeepers Liz and Eric are friendly and helpful. We'd go back in a second and, in fact, we will the next time we're are in Austin for a holiday. Reasonably-priced too. Last time we visited Austin, we stayed at the Hilton downtown. It cost us more and wasn't half as nice as the Adams House.

we visited austin for a conference, and came early to get in some vacation time. although the website was simple compared to some of the other b&bs with websites, i remembered (and liked) the hyde park neighborhood, and ended up here for two nights.
due to a mistake, we stayed in a different room each night, though both were quite nice. although i'm not into the decor of b&bs, i thought it would be great to stay in an historical house. the decor was surprisingly well done. the first room we stayed in, the william t. adams room, was upstairs, and had a lovely sun room. we weren't really there long enough to enjoy it, but it looked nice and seemed like a great perk for a longer visit to hang out in. the tub was deep, and the bathroom was clean.
we spent the second night in the bungalow separate from the house. although the tiki island decor was not my thing (i prefered the other room's decor), it was nice to have privacy and not worry about making noise walking around on super squeaky wood floors. the tub has jacuzzi jets.
the woman who made us breakfast was friendly and personable. we would definitely stay at adams house again. i would have a hard time deciding between the two nicest rooms.
