We used Adam's DJ Service for our wedding on 03/17/12 and couldn't have been more pleased.
We were referred to Adam's DJ Service by a friend who was happy with the service she received at her wedding. When we first contacted Adam by phone he was extremely friendly and helpful in explaining the services he would be able to provide and the cost. We were specifically looking for a DJ who was not "cheesy" and who would listen to our wishes and carry out the style of wedding reception we were looking for. We met with Travis and felt very comfortable right away because he was friendly and easy going, but also very professional. He met us in person at our venue in south Seattle to discuss the details of our event. He generously offered to give us the same rate our friend had received, even though our event was scheduled for a Saturday, not a Friday (which is generally discounted).
Following our first meeting and signing the contract we spoke with Travis on the phone several times before our event to go over details. He really got a sense of our general style and was able to convert that over into a fantastic event. Travis arrived early at 3pm to set up his equipment before our guests began arriving, and then returned after the ceremony to begin the cocktail hour music (we had a live musician planned for our wedding ceremony). He was even nice enough to run the audio and controls for a slide show we had prepared during dinner, which was not in his job description. After dinner our guests danced all night long and Travis played until the very last second when he needed to begin packing up (our venue had a "hard out" at 1am). He played an amazing mix of music that we had recommended plus his own choices, and many of our guests stated that our wedding reception was "better than any club in Seattle." In particular, we really appreciated Travis's flexible personality, his promptness and excellent communication skills, and his willingness to jump in and help with whatever we needed for our wedding.
We really feel that we got an incredible value for the cost, and would recommend Adam's DJ Service to anyone looking to have a fabulous event. -

Adam from Adam's DJ Service, was the DJ at my wedding, & I can chalk up his services to one word, PHENOMINAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I had no idea where to start to find a DJ, and my friend who had recently gotten married just raved about Adam and his spectacular service. I went online and made an appointment with Adam to talk with me and my new husband about how we wanted our wedding to flow. After 20 minutes of talking with Adam, we were sold! Adam kept in constant communication with us, spent hours with us, choosing lighting, choosing the flow of the wedding, choosing music. Adam also went above and beyond, driving from Milton to Bellevue in rush hour traffic to meet at our hotel where the reception was going to be held to look at the size of the room, meet with the hotel staff he would be working with the day of..etc. Needleless to say our wedding was spectacular & flowed beautifully! I keep hearing to this day about how awesome everyone thought the DJ was....100% could not agree more!
Adam is worth every penny & will make your wedding, or whatever event you are doing incredible! -

Adam's DJ service made our wedding one for the ages! My husband and I spent countless hours trying to decide on the music for our wedding to give it just the right vibe. When Adam met with us before the wedding, he brought along not only his laptop, but portable speakers so we could go through all the music and make sure he had the right versions of the songs we wanted. We gave him just general direction on the style of music we wanted for our pre-ceremony, cocktail hour and dancing. He chose perfect music for all of them. Our friends have been telling us non-stop that our music was amazing.
In addition to incredible music, Adam was also really helpful as an MC and gave us excellent direction/thoughts on the flow of our wedding. He was also the one to manage the relationship with the photo booth people (see my review on 1000 Words) and he definitely makes sure that he only partners with the best, which we really appreciated. Thanks to Adam and Lars for making sure that our wedding was perfect! -

When I first started looking at DJs for our Seattle wedding, I trawled Yelp and WeddingWire and a number of other sites, and came up with six or eight strong possibilites. But after reading reviews and recommendations I narrowed it down to three. We live in the Los Angeles area, so it was going to be challenging to meet up with DJs to see who we meshed with best. But my immediate gut feeling from the info I'd read was to go with Adam's DJ Service, so I dropped them a line first.
I didn't hear back right away, and I figured this was probably because - hey, we were putting together a wedding in about six weeks, they were probably all booked up. I started exploring a few other DJs, but wasn't really feeling it. So a few days later I lobbed Adam's an email a second way just to see if my first reach-out had landed in a spam bucket or something. Adam replied back nearly immediately, and I let out the breath I had been unknowingly holding in. Adam connected me up with DJ Joel for a chat, and when we talked on the phone the next day I knew within a few minutes that we were in great hands.
One of the things that I really appreciated about Adam's DJ Service that I didn't expect is that they shot me over a list of all the songs I'd need to choose for the wedding (for example, walk-in music, grand entrance music, first dance, etc) and also sent over a list of the most popular songs that had been chosen for each of these at previous weddings the past few years. These lists helped me get organized, and were an incredibly handy reference to choose from - random Google searches were only getting me so far.
On the day of the event, Joel played the songs we wanted, had songs at the ready that I didn't expect him to have, and worked hard to get people out on the dance floor. But I have to admit, what I appreciated even more than how good he was as a DJ turned out to be how good he was at making sure our wedding was working - Joel knew where the typical gaps and lulls were and filled them, he made announcements at the right time to keep things moving along, worked with the venue staff to make sure things ran smoothly, and generally went above and beyond in all sorts of little ways that I didn't expect and always appreciated.
I'm glad I went with my gut and worked with Joel and Adam's DJ Service. They helped make sure our wedding day was great! -

5 Stars...again and again.
Adam is the best DJ in the Seattle/Tacoma area. Look no further.
Adam was the DJ at my wedding and did an amazing job. He played all of the songs we requested and sprinkled in some classics to keep the dance floor full. Not only was his music selection and equipment top notch but he sat down with my wife and I to make sure we were on the same page with everything. Adam is very passionate about what he does for a living and it shows. He is very professional and his prices are reasonable. He's been doing this for a long time so you can trust him when it comes to music selection and agenda.
I was inspired to write this review because I just left a friends wedding who used Adams DJ Service. Another great set for another great wedding! -

My husband and I searched far and wide for the right wedding DJ and we were immediately impressed wtih Adam's DJ. Rather than have us talk to a screener, we were immediately setup to speak directly with the potential DJ that would be servicing our event. I can't say enough good things about working with Adam's DJ and specifically with Krispin.
Thumbs Up:
- Professional meetings and expert advice: Krispin met with us twice carrying a briefcase, his laptop, and the necessary paperwork. He was able to answer all of our questions and put us at ease. We never stressed about wedding music.
- Tasteful music selection: Krispin found the perfect version of our wedding processional song for us, even only after giving him a few days notice. He set up all the equipment and the great music never skipped a beat. We got a lot of compliments after the wedding on how awesome the music was, especially when he mixed during our reception.
- Timely Announcements: Krispin made all the right announcements and worked well with the other vendors to coordinate the perfect wedding. Though our wedding was about 30 minutes off schedule, the guests never knew it.
- Great prices: We were able to get full coverage for our wedding plus a lot of extras, like lighting and two sets of speakers. After shopping around, they provided competitive prices for quality DJs.

Adam's DJ Service lives up to the Yelp reviews!
My (now) husband and I were originally thinking about not getting a DJ but we decided a month before the wedding that it was something we didn't want to worry about. Our basic requirements were: 1) Under $1000, 2) Reliable DJ that will not run our event longer than our scheduled time, 3) Plays good music.
We read Yelp reviews and felt that Adam's DJ Service would live to our standards. We scheduled our first meeting with Adam, but he was already booked for the date. However, he was able to schedule us to meet with DJ Joel, who works with Adam.
When we met, Joel brought a large packet of information that included the contract details (which is very important, brides!!), a variety of popular song selections, and a wedding timeline for you to fill out. The packet was incredibly helpful especially since music may be the last thing you want to worry about at your wedding.
A week before the wedding, Joel went over all the details and even gave us suggestions on areas we didn't think about.
Joel was very flexible with our requests on the day of the wedding and kept things on schedule. My maid-of-honor even had a request for a song selection in her toast (we didn't know until the day-of) and Joel was able to play the song on the spot!
Our guests had a really really great time mainly because Joel played fun music to dance to. -

My husband and I got married on July 24th and Adam's DJ Service DJ'ed our event. It was a big hit!! Working with them was so easy and relaxing yet they had all the right questions to make sure that our event was not only successful but it was exactly what we wanted. From the ceremony to dinner and onto the reception it was flawless. The tears were flowing for the toasts and the butts were shaking into the night at the reception. All I can say is thank you to Adam for making my night so much fun!
If you are looking for a DJ for any type of event give Adam's DJ Service a call, totally worth your white! -

FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!! I had Travis from Adams DJ service at my wedding this past weekend and I couldn't be more happy with their service. Travis made the party function without any flaws. He was attentive to the needs of the bride (me) and of the guests. He stayed on cue and was flexible when needed. Oh and he was not cheesy at all. This service is professional, easy to work with and responsive. I did not have any worries about my choice from the first time I spoke to Adam and Travis.

Adam was fantastic! Before the wedding day, Adam took the time to sit down with me and my hubby and really get to know us and our music taste. It was a good 2 hour meeting where we went over in great detail how we wanted the evening to flow.
When it came to the actual day of the wedding, he kept the flow of the evening going very nicely. I really appreciated the communication that he kept with me (the bride) consistently throughout the wedding. Everyone complimented on how different our wedding was than any others they had been to when it came to the dancing and events. He played great music, alot of which we hand picked ourselves, but he kept the flow going all night!
I highly reccommend Adam's DJ Service!! I couldn't be any happier or thankful for picking the right DJ! Afterall, a DJ sets the tone for your evening, he is responsible for the soundtrack of your event, remember that when you pick your DJ! He is very professional and reliable. He made the night fun and memorable! -

Adam is a talented and outstanding DJ, host and organizer, who has a passion for his work. In an industry were most DJ's create a cheesy cookie-cutter reception, Adam created an atmosphere that was unique our wedding. Most importantly when consulting with Adam he treated us like friends and not as profit. He sincerely wanted to make sure our reception was perfect, and it was thanks to Adam! The way he was able to coordinate the communication between caterers, photographers, planners and guests was extremely smooth and professional, the entire night went perfectly because of Adam.
We had a diverse crowd from all over the world of varying cultures, including a very large contingent from NYC and were afraid our DJ would not be able to reach across the entire crowd. However Adam kept EVERYONE engaged and entertained without being in-your-face and annoying, and at the same time kept true to the theme we wanted for our wedding. All of our guests were so impressed with Adam that they took notes of what he did for upcoming weddings! A friend of mine said if Adam was based in NYC, he would've hired him on the spot for his upcoming Manhattan reception.
To top this all off Adam has professional ties throughout the Puget-sound area and was familiar with the staff and layout of our reception hall (The Canal at Ballard). I can go on and on of how impressed our guests and I were of Adam and his staff. He worked so hard and spent so much time with us to make sure things went right and did not hesitate with last minute changes. I would be more than happy to speak with anyone about Adam's service, he went beyond what we expected from him and make our reception so perfect it was unreal. -

We had enough to worry about for our wedding so I'm extremely grateful that the music was not one of them. Adam was timely, courteous, professional and thorough. He did a great job with our wedding. I recommended him to friends who have also used his service and have had great experiences as well. I would recommend his DJ service highly!!

Adam is the DJ of choice among my college friends because not only is he a great guy but he's great at what he does. When I got married, I didn't hesitate to contact Adam, although I was living in another state. We were able to come to a very reasonable agreement about travel costs in addition to his service costs. And he more than delivered. He was on time, professional, played everything we asked for and nothing we didn't. Before hand he had us fill out a survey so he had an idea of our musical likes and dislikes and so he would know the flow of the reception and what to play when. He also offered terrific advice about what he knew to work well from all of his experience. He did an amazing job and I've even since been asked by friends and family for his contact info so they could also hire him. Unfortunately living in another state makes that difficult but I think it speaks for itself that people remember what a great job he did at our reception, even years later.

The negatives outweigh the positives tenfold in the case of my wedding. I am furious and will NOT be recommending this DJ to anyone. Here is a brief list of everything that went wrong:
1. When Adam could not make it to my wedding he promised a DJ who would be equally skilled. Our new DJ, Joel, could not even make the trip up to meet with us for a personal consultation; that should have been my first sign.
2. At my wedding, Joel interrupted us multiple times to the point where it became difficult for us to enjoy our own wedding. In fact, he interrupted us during our PRIVATE moment, right after we were pronounced man and wife, and wanted just 1 minute alone together.
3. He played "corny wedding songs" like 'Celebration' even though I specifically asked him not to on our contract.
4. He would not take requests from my family and wedding party even though I specifically asked him to.
5. The "Dollar Dance" was so poorly announced that my family had no idea it was going on and my husband and I were left to a humiliatingly empty dance floor as we danced with each other to money songs (he should have at that point walked around and tried to get people on the dance floor).
6. He stopped playing music at the exact 4 hour mark so that when we had our big send off 10 minutes after that he would not play music for us and my parents had to usher people outside.
7. and this is the biggest one, HE DID NOT RECORD OUR WEDDING VOWS OR SPEECHES EVEN THOUGH IT WAS IN THE CONTRACT. The ONLY reason I chose Adam's DJ Service over others was that they had a connection with Lumina Photography and could give them a recording of our wedding to put to Lumina's slide show of pictures. However when we called Lumina to get our slideshows they said they had not received the audio, leaving us to find out that what was recorded during our ceremony was 20 MINUTES OF SILENCE. Our DJ even had an assistant, and between the 2 of them they could not figure out how to hook up the recording equipment and did not test it. Needless to say we were NOT impressed.
If you can get Adam himself to DJ your event then go for it, but do NOT trust his other DJs unless you meet them in person first. At least Adam is doing all he can to make things right for me, but we will never get our audio back.Comment from Adam T. of Adam's DJ Service 1/8/2012

There is nothing, NOTHING more important than picking an amazing DJ for your wedding. All weddings that I have attended that stand out among the best had amazing DJ service that kept everything on track and kept those bodies moving! We picked DJ Adam for our wedding, and he thrilled us with his organization, his ability to keep us on track during the wedding, the close attention he paid to us during the ceremony, and the party/amazing atmosphere he created for us during the reception/party. He played all the songs we requested, and played them in a perfect order than kept the party moving the whole night. His music equipment, speakers, light system, microphones, etc were all top notch. Adam also got along great with all our other vendors, and was able to create a no-stress atmosphere. In the end, he gave us exactly what we wanted/requested, and at a super reasonable price. We would highly recommend picking Adam for any important event.
