Mrs. KC: Why haven't you reviewed my favorite donut spot?
KC: Cuz. Don't wanna talk about it.
Mrs. KC: You don't want people to know about that chocolate bar, do you?
KC: Lotta golf on today! Mickelson is making a charge at The British Open. I hate how those Limeys call it The Open. It's The British Open. Fowler is wearing orange. What do ya think of his hair and the flat brim on that Puma lid?
Mrs. KC: Oh my God...you'd give them 2 stars to keep the masses away from their Apple Fritter and that Tiger Tail thingy.
KC: KC doesn't eat donuts.
Mrs. KC: LIES!!! I've seen the evidence.
KC: Place is meh.
Mrs. KC: I'm throwing 5 Stars on the board. What's your password?
KC: Just don't post this conversation. It'll make KC seem weak and lame.
Mrs. KC: OK, baby. I love you. -

I've had donuts everywhere. I LIVE for donuts, I CRAVE my donuts.
Bottom line, if I am anywhere NEAR SoCal, I stop at Adams. They have a variety I've never seen (porcupine anybody?), fresh, gooey, goopy, gloppy, as good as a donut can possibly be!
For those who like classic cars, they always have the parking lot filled on saturdays (including the original Batmobile at one point), but I only care about maple old fashions and chocolate buttermilk bars.
The coffee's ok, the store is old, BUT WITH DONUTS LIKE THESE, WHO CARES???!! -

I have been coming here fro at least 15 years. I have covered my share of donut shops in So Cal as well as Arizona and I must say Adams Ave is definitely at the top. The cinnamon rolls are awesome as well as a donut they call the porcupine. Although my favorite still is the boston kreme donut form the original Dunkin Donuts this would be a very close second. The owner Dave is awesome and a super friendly guy. This is a mom and pop shop so support the locals....Make sure you go by and you will thank me later.

Rustic Artisan Donuts! They are different than the typical donuts that are everywhere. Fresh, slightly well done for a crunchier exterior yet still moist inside. They are never stale as they sell out each day. I think they close around 2 or 3 in the afternoon. I have been there when there have been only 2 donuts in the whole case. First place I ever had bacon on my maple bar. Sweet and savory, before you dismiss it as folly, try it. It is the real deal.

Perfectly iced and scrumpdiddily-umptious! Homer would be proud.
The fritter was just how I liked it, apple chunks, the right amount of fluff and icing. In fact everything looked good. I'm a happier person for now knowing we have 2 five star donut shops close by.
Go there, eat donuts and be happyListed in: Top Ten Donut Shops

I can't speak for the taste of the donuts because I only go here for the senior citizen I take care of but without fail they are always out of the donuts he wants. They are pretty basic donuts and I usually go in between 8:30 & 9:30 AM.

The staff vary from eccentric, polite to surly. But the donuts are to die for. Freshly made on the premisses I believe. I recommend the Belgium Cream filled choclate covered donut. Death by calories but you only live once so why not experience it. The coffee is great and the crowd, usually Old Boys or Hot Rod enthusiasts (Donut Derelicks meets here on Saturday morning - very early) can be fun.

The tiger tail is great, but the donut holes are where its at people. These little nuggets are where its at. Coffee is good too. Early Saturday morning car show is fun for all.

Like old cars? Like old men with pot bellys (def. http://answers.yahoo.c...)? Can you get up at 6:00am on a Saturday to witness the aforementioned?
If so AAD will make you one happy SOB. And if you go often enough, and partake of those deep fried sugar bombs, you too can blend in with the strolling natives here under the watchful eyes of the leaders known as "The Donut Derelicts." Its a little known, but growing tribe indigenous only to this part of HB. They are easily identified: mostly white male, thinning slicked back hair, greasy fingernails, and yep, their ultimate status symbol....the prodigiously protruding pot belly, or PPPB.
Enough about the members of this closely knit tribe. The cars are what drags this 200(?) strong merry band of old farts out of bed before dawn to show off their kids inheritance. See the many pix I took this morning at 7:00ish, which is the optimum time to be here. I believe they start revving up the motors by 8:00 to clear the parking lot for the strip mall businesses.
So get your asses up early, or catch it on your way home from a late late night and check out a lil slice of SoCal car culture old white guy style. -

They have a great group of old timers who come by, a fun staff, and amazing donuts like a peanut butter filled one. It's on my way to work and I sometimes stop by to see if they have it. Please make more PB filled donuts!

I moved to the midwest 12 years ago and I can honestly say that the thing I miss most (besides the ocean) is Adams Donuts. Whenever I come back for a visit I end up at Adams. I grew up a block away and would get donets with the family every Sunday. My brother loved the chocolate cherry bearclaw and I was in love with the blueberry turnover..I wish they shipped donuts.
FYI for the dude that said dunkin donuts would set us all straight...I wish they could, as that is ALL they have out here. I miss my Adams Donuts. -

This is Homer Simpson's paradise. I like to consider myself a donut connoisseur and this place does not disappoint! Like any other donut shop you can find the usual selection: chocolate bars (my favorite), glazed, twists, sprinkles, donut holes, you get the picture. Like someone has previously mentioned these donuts are bit on the cakier side but they are not teeny, stale or greasy.
If you are not into donuts, they also sell croissants; plain, chocolate, ham and cheese as well as danishes.
You can get a donut for less than a dollar the croissants are a few bucks. The service is friendly even when its super busy in the morning.
After reading the other reviews I will have to come back to try the tiger tail...arrggh. -

I grew up on these donuts cause they were awesome (and probably because it is so close to our house)! In any case, Adams Avenue Donuts is awesome! They have the standard classic donuts and then my favorite of all time, the Tiger Twist. Oh yes, the Tiger Twist is king shit when it comes to awesome donuts. This donut will pounce all over the others, eat them and then spit them out and make something that was better than the donut's previous life.
If you are into old cars, then swing by Adams Avenue on a Saturday morning. The Donut Derelicts bring their hot rods to Adams Avenue and take over the parking lot for the morning. Donuts + tricked out hot rods = a good morning. That in itself makes Adams Avenue Donuts a fine dig for the finer (fattier) things in life.
And who could forget (me apparently) that Ashlee Simpson filmed a music video outside of Adams Ave. Girl put Huntington Beach on the map and subsequently, put out a shitty CD too! -

Better and cheaper than Krispy Kreme.

I challenge the review that told me to disagree. I went in here on a Saturday morning, and the place was very busy. Thought this was a good sign of things to come. Unfortunately, for me this was not the case. Look, I still believe if a Dunkin Donuts franchise opened here, people would realize how low rent the quality is with these strip mall donut shops. Maybe I am a donut snob from the northeast, but this place was dirty, and the selection was even worse. Avoid at all costs.

If you are seeking quality donuts then look no further! Adams Avenue Donuts has been around forever it seems like but they have quite a firm standing. I recommend this place for the quality and selections of donuts they have. Your best bet would be to wake up as early as possible though if you want to get what you want because this donut shop can get really crowded, even for 5 or 6 in the morning. A lot of people are return clientel in that sense. You'll see familiar faces both in front and behind the counters of this establishment. Very reliable service, customer friendly, and cheap. The best part though is if u can wake up early enough on saturdays you can see a whole lot of vintage vehicles. Nothing beats a morning cup of joe, a tastey sweet donut, and classic car shows! Hit it up for sure! Thnx Adams Avenue Donuts! Stay amazing and keep bringing that vintage feel to this modern world!

This place sells the worst donuts. Heavy cake donuts that feel like you ate a whole loaf of bread. Most taste stale too, even if you buy them early. the old fogeys who eat there on the weekends, must have lost their sense of taste. I go to sweet O donuts, if I want a good donut.

I knew it was a good donut shop when the line was nearly stretching out the door, mind you I was in there around 8:45am so it should be busy, the staff was fast, friendly and most importantly the donuts were awesome, I would recommend this shop to anyone in Central Orange County!
