I live in the Elk Grove area and I've always drove all the way out to the Adalbertos on Bradshaw until my brother told me there was a location on Florin Rd. I was so ecstatic until I actually tried the place. I ordered the California Burrito and was so disappointed. If you like eating a cold burrito, then this place is for you. The only thing hot was the carne asada meat. The tortilla wasn't warmed and the cheese wasn't melted. It was like they pulled the burrito right out the fridge. They can get away with this kind of stuff at night when people are drunk but not during lunch hours. I will not be coming back to this location. I'll continue to drive all the way out to Bradshaw for my California Burrito fix.

I didn't find out about this place til a couple of weeks ago and since then, I've been hooked. The fact that they are open 24/7 makes this place awesome. The California Burrito is great for just 5 bucks. The carne asada tacos are delicious as well. My only complaint is that the drive thru may take a while and the guy taking orders can be a bit rude and he can be really hard to understand. I will definitely be going back here more often though.

WELLLLLLLLL,
I barely remember being here because I was pretty drunk. My friend ordered us two california burritos through the drive thru (they have that at mexican restaurants???) Anyways, the drive thru was pleasant from what I can remember.
I didn't even eat the burrito until the morning after. We heated them up and still tasted good. It started deterioratng the longer I kept it. -

I would rate this 3.5 stars. They are open 24/7 and they have al pastor!! I LOVE AL PASTOR! I have tried the carne asada burrito, carne asada fries, al pastor burrito, al pastor fries and california burrito. All was good for a 24 hour joint.

Aside from the shady atmosphere and the bored, unresponsive cooks, when I'm craving carne asada fries this is the closest place to me. No one can do carne asada fries like Adalberto's can. The crispy fries are laid on the bottom first, then the cheese, then sour cream and guacamole and lastly the carne!!!! It's sinfully good. This is my comfort food.
I recommend ordering through the drive though. The parking lot isn't very well lit and the tables & chairs inside are questionable. -

Og 24 hour taco spot in south sac
i've had a love hate relationship with this place for the last 14 years... I always go here when i need some late night food. One thing i must say is that the burrito size fluctuates which is kinda annoying. Everything here is good! But at 3 or 4 am it tastes awesome compared to those nasty jack in the box tacos.
Breakfast burritos are awesome 24/7, breakfast plates are cheap and you get a ton of food. The burritos and tacos are usually huge(but on occasion SURpRise, skinny burrito!). The horchata and jamaica taste like it's supposed to, and always cold. Torta bread is always fresh and they stuff a ton of meat in them.
I think thats everything... o wait ... the drive thru workers are under paid and over worked, so don't expect them to be the most cheerful people at 3am. If you leave them a tip they'll actually remember you.
P.S. that black guy in the pictures who steals the burritos in the drive through used to be my room mate ... -

Go during the day time business hours and avoid the night time hours. I went there once with my buddies on this one late night and have elected to never go back again because I was afraid that the questionable parolees, I meant employees who work during the late night hours slipped some ass crack into my food, but I was like "hey WTF I'm buzzed" and ate it anyways, haha...
The food there is good though. It will get you by... and yes there was a DDD (designated drunk driver) haha.. but all joking aside, we had a sober driver and so should you if you've had a few. Don't drink and drive folks... -

Before tonight, I would gave given this place 4 stars. But...tonight...it's 3. Why? Because I've been drinking. YES, PLEASE JUDGE ME.
I've been drinking.
I wanted a fish taco. Like...seriously. I wanted a good one. Del Taco doesn't eff around with fish tacos, but what the hell. Adalberto's is by my house.
The fish taco: unnecessarily full of sauce. Salty. Overall disappointing. I decided to deviate from my usual cheese quesadilla and quac. Not the greatest idea. In addition to my salt[fish] taco, I also ordered a chicken taco. THAT was good. It was a crunchy shell, which I wasn't expecting, but there was a buttload of chicken. And it was great.
Their quacamole is surprisingly thin and weird, but it's not terrible. It's pretty decent. Also, their green AND red salsa are very enjoyable. My usual...the cheese quesadilla...is jam-packed with cheese. If you love cheese (which any decent Californian does), you'll appreciate the quesadillas.
Yes, it's open 24 hours. Honestly, I can't say I won't be back, because that would be a lie. As long as booze exists, I will be attending 24-hour Mexican restaurants. Thank you, California.
Update:
I have just sat down at my desk after coming home from work, where I apparently ate my tacos last night, and tried the salsa that was still here. It's not really that awesome. I suppose I should clean up all this cheese that...somehow...got all over the place. -

I've been here a good number of times and have been disappointed by this Adalbertos. Isn't it actually called Adalbertacos now? Did they get kicked out of the Adalbertos chain? I don't know why but compared to the other location the quality is just lower here. I hope they step it up because this is the closest one to where I live. I guess if it's late at night and thats all thats open I would definitely hit it up.

I'm starting to think that I'm becoming the queen of skanky-looking burrito drive-ins...whch I suppose is not the worst thing in the world! ^_^ After all, what is there to not like about a 24-hour drive-in hawking your fill of tacos and burritos?
Adalberto's is a short drive from Greenhaven-Pocket down Florin Road, passed 24th, next to the Big O Tire store. As soon as you see the Big O store, make a hard right into the driveway. I keep thinking this place is a relative of Beto's cuz they have a suspiciously identical menu, California burrito and all. Non-meat options too. About a buck CHEAPER than Beto's (around $4 a burrito), the only other obvious difference is that the hot sauce is my-sweet-chihuahua-spicy!
The thing about the being known as K is that K eats non-stop from 6:00 p.m. on -- dinner, after-dinner snack, late night snack. I know it is time to turn on the late night news when K says, "I'm hungry". Some nights I whip up some home-style fried rice. Other nights, it is nice to know that Adalbertos is available to appease the munchie monster. -

**UPDATE***020309--
Im extremely mad at the service here tonight! Okay, how does a super burrito and a combo plate and medium drink cost $18?? I kept asking the dude and he kept calculating to make sure he's right. I feel totally ripped off!!! Even tho i do love their food, i dont think that was fair and unacceptable. 7.95, 5.25, 1.90..does that add up to $18? few dollars off, wow.. still, thats my money! We're not coming back for a really long time.
After my Robertito's on corner of 47th closed down, I was hoping they relocate. Months went by w/out carnitas & horchata in my tummy until I decided to give adalbertos a try.
Yaaay!! I found a replacement! I got carnita's cali burrito, chicken tacos, & large horchata. MmmMm, so bomb! Me and my boo was all reminiscing bout when we had burritos like this! Horchata was perfect, not watery! I think they're family with the robertito folks, same everything. Hot sauce..they will be skimpy wit it and it aint even good!
Do keep in mind that the food isn't always good, last time my carnitas was soggy and tortilla wasn't slighty grilled. So it tasted "uncooked". -

Adal-to-die-for!
I can't resist the occasional withdrawal episodes I suffer from due to this place. A highly recommended spot to go to especially for those late night Mexican cravings.
The food is spectacular. Savory, and made fresh...I recommend the Carne Asada Fries & California Burrito. My heart usually despises me after I engorge in the whole order of Carne Asada Fries...yes I said Fries... topped with yummy meat & cheese. Trust me, you have to try it. And the California Burrito...potatoes, meat, cheese...that sort of stuff. A large Horchata drink always compliments the meal.
Best of all, it's 24 hours! Cruise on over at 3am, and go through the drive through. I've never actually eaten inside, but I figure it couldn't be all that bad. The service is usually good, I've never had any issues. The prices are also reasonable & fairly cheap in my opinion. And yeah, they'll take cash or credit.
So really, next time eat here if your stomach growls at 1am. It's worth the drive! -

DEEELISHOUS. If you're looking for lots of fried items, cheese, questionable meats...this is the place for you.
I DON'T really recommend the drive through because you look and sound like a douche when you're yelling that order. Besides, their english isn't very good and everyone inside the restaurant can hear your "waa-waa-waa-and a large diet soda", but they make up for it in the food. I also don't recommend their guacamole. It's "different", bad different.
Chicken nachos: AHHHHHH! Spicy chunks of pollo with gobs of cheese, sour cream and lord knows what else.
Taquitos: fan-effin-tastic.
Super burrito: you just can go wrong with this lunch & dinner item. That's right. A two-fer.
Chicken salad: pretty good, but by the time you get to bottom, it's like someone dumped a cup full of water in there (?)
My girlfriend had them cater for a party. Can I just say that the food was even better at the party.
Te Amo Adalbertos! -

I have been here a few times, and for what it is, it's pretty good.
They aren't on the same schedule as the rest of Sacramento and are pretty much open all the time.
I had the rolled tacos on my girl Shay's recommendation, and they were pretty good, even reheated. I got a bean burrito too, which was huge, and thank god didn't have american or velveeta cheese in it like Jimboys does now that it's all corporate. Damn, I miss old school Jimboys. I also got a side of rice, which tasted like Jimboys' rice.
For some reason, the person taking our order was hella busy with an empty restaurant (?) and had trouble getting my annoying order down. But that's okay I didn't really mind repeating it 30 times. Also, make sure you check the total. He was 8$ off (in a bad way.) But I'm known as the human calculator. I made a face at him and he corrected the total with a quickness. No need to get ghetto in the ghetto.
So, there you go. It's aight. -

This review is solely on the carne asada fries. I wanted to compare this place to Carolinas to see which of the two was better. I was hoping this place would be since Carolinas has disappointed me way too many times, but Adalbertos was such a disappointment.
I drove up to the drive-thru around 11PM..waited a few minutes and didn't get a response. I started yelling out, "Hello?!" but still no response. I then drove up to the window and whadayaknow...I see two workers just standing there. Ok.....I gave them the benefit of the doubt and figured maybe they were busy in the back doing who knows what, so on to my order.
I asked for carne asada fries and 5 minutes later, he's handing me my order with a big smile and "BYE BEAUTIFUL!" Kinda cute in a funny way, yet creepy since you're like old enough to be my dad...anyways, the food was one word: tasteless. Even though the meat and fries were covered with massive amounts of cheese, gaucamole, and sour cream and the food was visually appealing, it just tasted so bland. The meat could have definitely used a pinch of salt or some type of seasoning. I hoped that the complimentary hot sauce would solve the problem, but that alone didn't even contain a hint of spicyness. It just made my food even more soggy. I had to whip out the red rooster sauce outta my cupboard hoping it would make me think that I didn't just waste $7. As I eat more and more, the fries become so soggy that I couldn't even eat it anymore. Damn, $7 down the drain and I'm still hungry.
Final verdict: Nice attempt, but the food left me unsatisfied. The first 20 seconds may be great, but everything turns into tasteless soggy muck. Carolinas wins this battle, but I'm still looking for "the one." -

Honestly, if you are trying to compare this to some high class Mexican food establishment, than yes maybe it's not the best. On the other hand this is by far the best fast Mexican food you can buy. I would suggest the Nicky B. special which is a California burrito -no pico and add sour cream & beans. Omg its heavenly.

This place has killer tacos! And I'm talking at ANY Adalberto's, even the one in Fairfield! I love the 2 taco plate. Sometimes I feel a little blecchhy afterwards, but it's worth it once in a while! For a while I was eating it at least once a week for lunch tho..

What happened here! 1 year ago I would have given this place 5 stars because it was the perfect fast, (semi)-greasy, delicious Mexican food that I love. But now, the quality has gone down. I still go there all the time. I love their carne asada burritos. Yum! But every time I order the beef rolled tacos, they give me chicken!! I don't like the chicken ones. Boo! I'm starting to think this is a game to them, like I cant tell the difference. I wish this place took a little more time when preparing the food. All and all, its good, I just wish it was like the old days.

Great for late night munchies. Expect a line though. Even if there is no line, expect a wait. You can hardly understand the guy as he is yelling into the microphone, which is then distorted by the crappy loudspeaker that they have. However, WELL WORTH IT ALL. I usually get a order of carne asada french fries, taquitos, and a california burrito. Always over order, but love all of it.

why has no one thoguht of a REAL drive-thru taqueria before this?!

West Sacramento, CA
First off, the food is overpriced for the quality. The bathrooms are outside, there are never good restrooms outside. There was a bone in my taco as well as soggy chicken. The ceiling is missing tiles. No AC. My booth is missing some of its leather. No free refills. BUT, my rice was good. Just don't get chicken.

I will not come back to this restaurant again. I went there on Saturday night (around 7pm). I tried to place my order ahead of time, but had difficult getting my order in. When we got there we basically had to order our food again. I made sure that we had 7 items on our order. When I asked the worker, he said yes. When I got home, I noticed that I was only charged for 6. Which was fine. I ordered Super Nachos and realized that it was not in the bag!!!!! I tried calling back to see if I can go pick it up but the call didn't go through. We finished our food and was not satisfied. So I figured that driving back to the restaurant was not worth while. I was really disappointed.

my first time here. i had the carne asada fries and shared with my bf (no way can any normal person finish one by themself!!) the portion is friggin' huge... they seriously fill up a whole to-go tray. the meat was good.. im really picky with meats because i cannot eat chewy meat. the avocado was a little watered down i would say? the fries got soggy from sitting underneath all the toppings, but it's so think that u still get the taste of the fries. my friend got a chorizo burrito and he says that's his favorite. with a large side of yummyyy horchata.. i just wanted more of of Adalberto's!
