Mucho tasty!!! Perfect late night food after a night of drinking AND the next morning when nothing in the world will take away the pain of your mistakes you made the night before. Adalbertos will do a damn good job of trying.
Breakfast burrito with potatoes, bacon, cheese - 5 stars!!!
Carnita tacos - 5 stars!!!
Super nachos - 5 stars...AND serves as 2 meals!! -

I used to eat here all the time when I used to work across the street. The food was solid. Great burritos made quick so you're in and out. Large portions for little dough. Just the way I like it.
Go with tacos or flautas. The burritos are usually too messy for my liking. -

I was craving some mexican food, and to tell you the truth, I wasn't wanting Taco Bell. My friend recommended this place, because we had been talking about breakfast burritos earlier that morning.
never having been there, I wasn't sure what to order. Places that look kinda down usually don't have the best food or the most options. I was pleasantly surprised.
I had ordered the chicken burrito, which is seasoned chicken rolled up into a burrito. This thing was so big, I could only eat half of it. My mistake was ordering chips with cheese as well... as that was a large container filled with fresh, crunch chips with melted cheese on top.
I only wish that the chicken burrito was more than just chicken. I mean, some refried beans and some rice would have been a nice addition.
I will try this place again next time I'm in the area, as the food was hot, filling, and best of all, not budget busting -

This is an awesome late night place to go (aka: drunk/drinking/hungover) because it's always open and it's cheap!
The first time I went was a few months ago and I was slightly disappointed. My friend RAVED about the carne asada fries, and I decided to give it a shot. The meat was just okay and they didn't cover all the fries with all the good stuff. I ate about half of it when I got it and saved the rest for a late, late night snack. Let me tell you, after a few hours of soaking in all that fat and oil, those fries were pretty delicious. Too bad it required some time before it tasted good though.
The next time I went, I got the breakfast burrito, cheap and HUGE (that's what she said). I also ate half when I first got it and saved the other half for later. For a total of $4, it was two meals in one. I had the same experience as with the carne asada fries though; it was good, but not great until the juices and fats coagulated and created ready-to-go heart attack that I would eventually be having after eating here a few times.
I go back here just when I get a craving for greasy Mexican food and don't mind the drive. -

Three point five stars - but rounded up to four.
I was in a grumpy mood which means I crave carbs. This joint was closest to me so I tried it out. They have a chicken taco plate special for $3.00. Seriously good deal!
The taco was done up well, filled with lots of meat, the rice was good - not hard or soggy - and the beans were pretty standard.
Their drive in seriously needs work however. I was wondering if they heard me at all during some of the conversation...if you could call it a conversation.
Me: Hi - could you tell me what is in your chicken taco special?
Speaker: Chicken taco, rice and beans.
Me: Okay, I'll take two.
Speaker: (radio silence)
Me: Hello? I'll take two!
Speaker: (radio silence)
Me: Hello?!?!?
Speaker: Yes!?!?
Me: I'll take two.
Speaker. Okay.
No "please drive up to the window" or "that will be $6.51 with tax". So I drive up and wait and wait and wait. There was only ONE car head of me. I was complaining about the wait and my daughter pointed out that we usually wait this long or longer at In-N-Out. But I reminded her that there are usually eight cars ahead of us, not just one.
Finally I get my food. And hey, it looks pretty decent. They got the order right and I was a happy (full and less grumpy) camper in the end. -

I get nervous in drive thrus when I dont know what I want. Therefore, I shoulda known the outcome was not gonna be great. So, where I was going to give TWO stars here, I've upped it to THREE to take some of the blame.
I had read up on the other reviews while yelping the Fairfield location. The folks there were talking up the carne asada nachos and had pics to prove how appealing they might be... So, today while near the SAC location, I was in a rush but thought I'd give them a try. Here's a quick rundown of my experience:
Imagine my approach to the normal Adalberto drive thru menu...tiny stickers all croooked spelling out what they have...no time to decipher anything before....
Worker BARK: CAN I HELP YOU!!!
Me: Yes, do you have "Carne Asada Fries?"
Worker BARK muffled: YES!
Me: Scuse me?
Worker BARK: YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!
Me: Oh okay, what comes on those?
Worker BARK: FRIES CARNE ASADA, WACA-MOLE AND CHEEZE!!!!
Me: (pause while I think hmmm i dont like just any WACA-MOLE)
Worker BARK: WELL YOU WANT THEM?!!!!
Me: Yes okay
Worker BARK: Anything else?
Me: Yes, do you have Horchata? (as I see it now on the Menu)
Worker BARK: YES WHAT SIZE?
Me: (thinking I wonder if the small is like a real small or more like a medium cause I dont really need a lot of Horchata but I am thirsty)
Worker BARK: WELL??!?!?!?
Me: Yes, I'll have a medium. Thanks
Worker BARK: FIVE SEVENTEEN
Once at the window, things were more pleasant, I got my food and was on my way to Taco Bell where the kiddies wanted to eat. I found myself in the TB lobby eating with envy at one of the kids crunch wrap supreme. The fries were hella soggy and they were smothered with WAC, very little cheeze and a ton of carne asada with no flavor whatsoever. I ended up tossing it all. The Horchata however was wonderful. I still love Adalbertos but will stick to my rolled chicken tacos from this point on....Listed in: The Mexican

1 star for being open 24 hours and and capable of rolling an edible burrito
-4 stars for the complete lack of quality, freshness, and value
Stale everything, nominal english, and lack of sanitation abound. all of which i tolerate, but not when it comes to my most favorite food. I can't stand dry, week-old tortillas, and watery burritos.
I have heard the chorizo breakfast burritos are worth the drive to get, but other than that even taco bell would be better than this dump.
My superlative nomination: "Burrito joint mostly likely to serve Hepatitis A." -

Food: 3 stars. The burritos are pretty good, but their meats are lacking a bit in flavor. The chile relleno burrito was a nice discovery. I've eaten plenty of both over the years, but never the one inside of the other. It was surprisingly good. My favorite item is their chorizo and potato breakfast burrito. It drips with flavor. Be sure to skip it if you're following a weight loss regimen.
Cost: 4. The prices here are really good. In an age where Chipotle and Baja Fresh have increased the price of a simple burrito into the $6 to $7 range, it's refreshing to find a place that serves good food without gouging your wallet.
Service: 2 stars. They take my order and provide me with my food. Basic. Perhaps they'd show some warmth or happiness if I busted out in Spanish with them? However, a great big gringo erupting into fluent Spanish might surprise them more than help. Hmmm?
Atmosphere: 1 star. This place used to be... well, something else. It has the second most unusually designed drive through I've seen. (The first was a Taco Bell in Houston, TX where the staff had to take your money and hand you your food with a long, shovel-like implement through the passenger-side window.) You'll be fine if you just remember you've gone here for the food and not to propose marriage to your girlfriend.
Location: 4 stars: Adalberto's is located in a nice area. I certainly feel safe in the area, and I'd have no problem with my wife of kids going there without me. I've never seen any shady types loitering in the area. It's like they chose the worst house in the best neighborhood, so to speak.
Nuff said. -

It's all about what you get at Adalberto's.
The fish tacos, breakfast burritos, fish burrito, nachos, quesadillas and chimichangas are great, everything else not so much.
The drive thru line is annoyingly slow, but it's not like I have anywhere to be anyway. -
Review from Mel L.
I only go through the drive thru at this place, so I can't speak for the inside, though it looks very subpar from my car as I'm driving around to pick up my food. If greasy americanized mexican food is what you're looking for, look no further. I always get the rolled tacos (sometimes w/guac) and the chips with mexican salsa. Hey, I'm easy to please! Their breakfast burritos are huge and stuffed to the gills with bacon, potatoes, salsa, cheese...I can never eat more than 1/3 of it. Good deal for less than $4.
The speaker never seems to work right, but they've never screwed up my order. It's a good place to roll through on the late night after drinking and/or clubbing, but expect a bit of a wait in the drive thru if you're planning to come here at 2am -

One star for the horchata, three stars for the California burrito, two stars for the ambiance. This place had the worst horchata I have ever had in my life. It was watery and tasteless. The California Burrito is pretty good; not necessarily authentic Mexican food (I don't think Mexican cuisine involves a lot of potatoes but I could be wrong), but that's not relevant to the issue of whether it tasted good. The restaurant itself is small. I think there are four small tables and a chips and salsa bar the size of a desk. I doubt a lot of people come here for the atmosphere, though, so it's a moot point. I haven't been to the other Adalberto's, but with the positive word of mouth the chain receives, they have to be better than this one.

I've been here a few times, it's right down the street from my high school so I'd sneak down there after school and get some grub.
The food is great. I love it. The chips are crunchy, the burritos are hearty...
Yum.
I always notice that there seems to be a constant stream of cars in the drive through though, and they take a LONG time. I've never tried the drive through, so I can't say how long the actual wait is. -

I completely disagree with all these negative reviews. I have been going to this adal's since the late 90's and have never gotten sick off the food, yet I have become ill from eating taco bell on a couple occasions. Every time I go the girl at the drive-through displays excellent customer service and speaks very good English. I frequent three local adal's and the quality and service of this particular location is second to none.

Adalberto's can vary greatly from loc to loc, but this one is my fave. Any mexican food joint with a yellow menu is worth a try, but I've never found one better than Adalberto's. Hook it up with a Super Nacho, California Burrito, or the crazy cheap breakfast burritos.

I have to agree with the other two reviewers: this is the WORST of all Adalberto's in the chain. This is the one that gives ALL the others a bad name! (Hopefully, this is not the same owner who is trying to open a new Adalberto's in Rocklin).

They serve decent Mexican food. They're pretty cheap and the food is hit or miss.. Sometimes the food will be okay.. Other times, not so good..

I prefer the Addie's on Greenback, but this place is pretty good as well. Definitely hit the drive-through.. Customer service is severely lacking, but I can't complain as it's 24 hours and suuuper cheap. Can't go wrong with a #24 breakfast burrito or carnitas tacos and some horchata!

This place is exactly what you think it is: Cheap, dirty, Mexican food. The prices are great and the food will give you a heart attack, but it's ok because the California burrito is to die for.

I have only gotten the machaca burritto, but its so good i can't order anything else. Its HUGE! Blazing hot with meat, egg, onions and peppers. The place is ugly as sin but they have unlimited pico and chips and the pico is fan-freakin-tastic.
