Went here when I was first picking out a go-to park for my dog, and it was pretty okay besides the weird layout. When I went the seating was pretty bad and sparce, which isn't rare for public dog parks, and it was hard for me to find the second section of the park at first. I usually prefer a dog park that's a size where you can both sit and keep an eye on your dog the whole time, and is large enough for dogs to play in and have a lot of space, and there are better parks with better layouts for both of these in Atlanta. I'd recommend Oakhurst.

Why the bad review though? I've gone to dog parks frequently for 18 months, and Adair is the only dog park where someone STOLE MY DOG'S LEASH. WHO DOES THAT. Now that I've spent more time in dog parks, I find the fact that that happened even stranger than it was at first, because I've never even heard of it happening somewhere else. And because of the street only parking, I had to carry my 30lb dog back to my car. Completely insane.

Not my favorite dog park ever but a good option for the neighborhood. There's only street parking and there was a wedding happening at the venue next door so we ended up having to park all the way down the street which was kind of annoying. I didn't notice any poop bag stations or garbage cans inside the park. It had been raining the week prior and the ground was still wet and soggy. The owners and dogs were all very friendly and well behaved. There were several dog bowls and water jugs and places to sit. It looks small at first but if you walk towards the back, there's an adjoining area which is pretty large as well. On the plus side, lots of shade! Be sure to wear bug spray if you are susceptible to mosquitos.

This is my go-to neighborhood dog park. Atlanta is great for dog owners since there are many patio restaurants and parks everywhere. With all the trees (that keep my dog from overheating--the fat sausage dog) this place has become my favorite dog park in Decatur.

Being a huge, U-shaped park, there's a natural separation--so if your dogs aren't getting along one can just go on the other side. There isn't a separate small dog section, but I believe it's big enough to keep owners and pups happy. There's also water jugs and water bowls for your doggies.

All owners keep an eye on their dogs and are friendly. The great part is that everyone does make sure to keep the water jug full. If you're feeling anti-social nobody will bother you either since everyone just sits and watches their dogs or are on their phones. There's also always a bunch of other dogs here (but not too much to be overcrowded) when I go after work from 6-8 PM.

There are multiple entrances, but I think they could add one more for the opposite side of the U, near the water spout. This would make it easier to refill the water jugs.

      Just the tips:
      - Big, U-shaped park where dogs can be separated if they don't get along.

      - No separate small dog section

      - Lots of trees so you and your pup don't overheat!

This park is amazing for my dog. A lot of space that is well covered by trees, and a good group of people who come in with dogs. Love coming here.

Great spot! The driving directions are deceiving, it puts you on Ponce... Where there is an entrance but it's set back from the street, so not visible. If you turn onto Adair you will find street parking. The dog park is really nice. I love the fact that it is shaded for warmer days. Even though it is mulch it doesn't seem as dusty and dirty as other dog parks. Plenty of seating. People were friendly and dogs were well mannered, which I can say is a rarity at other Atlanta parks. Can't wait to go back.

Looks smaller from the front but once in there, the park is quite big. Not a lot of dogs which is a good thing. The dog park in Oakhurst is overrun with dogs.

People and dogs were friendly, owners paying attention to their dogs, jugs of water for the bowls along with running water near the front of the park. Also it was not muddy and I went two days after a day of all day rain. Great park and will be back. Oh yeah, my two standard poodles loved running around in it!

Checked this park out today and I'm so glad I did! This park is very clean with plenty of mulch, water jugs, and water bowls. The park is huge! It's two areas connected by a little path in the back of the park. The park was not crowded when we went and lots of dogs came and went in the hour or so we were there. The dogs and owners here are extremely friendly and I like the fact that people cleaned up after their dogs. There's also a lot of trees so plenty of shade. I will definitely bring the furkids back!

There is NO separate smaller-dog area here.

The park is very large and ALMOST split into two sections. They've cut out a section (lined with fencing) right down the middle where there's a looong concrete drain. I overheard someone say that it used to be open and accessible, and one time his dog ran across to retrieve a ball or stick.. and hit his leg on the concrete. Definite hazard.. and I'm glad they fixed it! The back portion remains open between the now almost-two-halves of the park so you can still get around to the other side of the park. Kind of a cool feature, actually.

So, the back of the park has a few more trees than the front. This park is mostly shaded - I'd say maybe 80% or more - and there are a bunch of places for us human-best-friends to sit. There's at least one area (by the front gate) with a water spicket/fountain. The area gets a little muddy but that is to be expected at most dog parks. I think you can also get into the park in the back but I'm not sure if there's water up there.

Overall a nice park if you're looking for a large space with shade! Just remember, the bigger the dog park, the more dogs/running/potential craziness which can lead to potentially crazy dog owners as well :)

Large dog park for pooches of all sizes in one enclosed area. It has plenty of old growth trees that provide ample shade during the hot months. Lots of things for fido to chase and the local dog community does a good job keeping it relatively clean. A park employee was spreading pine tree clippings to minimize the mud mess and it smelled great. The only draw back is there's no place for people to relieve themselves at this park. Other than that... I'd definitely come here again when my travels take me inside the perimeter.

Lots of places to sit at a table within the boundaries of the dog park.
