Dr. Pang is so wonderful. Not only does she make you feel at ease and comfortable, but she really is sincere in her concern and willingness to help you to feel better. Not only that, but she listens to you. She doesn't rush me like i've had Doctors do before and I already feel like I can trust her. So far, I've gone twice and am already feeling better than I was from a potential pinched nerve I had, which caused numbing, tingling and pain in my body. After my 1st acupuncture session, the tingling went away and a lot of the numbing sensation.
I went today and felt so soothed and relaxed while I had a 40-45 min session. I'm really pleased with the treatments I've been getting so far and I think Dorothy is amazing. I can see why everyone else has given 5 stars, which was the reason why I made an appointment at AcuSpa in the first place. -

Review from Missie R.

I came here due to my back pains from my car accident. I've been popping medications to help with my pain and help me sleep.
The office is small and cozy. When you walk in you're welcomed with the sound of the little waterfall. You can plop down onto the extremely large couches (very comfy might I add) and enjoy a little cup of h2o.
The receptionist are all very kind. And they do all your appointments through a great computer program which will email you appointment and also email you a reminder a few days before your appointment. So nifty getting the email reminds on my iPhone. I really love their system of choice!!
The lady behind all the needles is Dorothy and she's a saint. She is the nicest most gentle person I've ever meant. I was really hesitant to come because I have a fear of needles (and metals of all kinds really) however she took my fears into consideration and really put me at ease. The needles she uses are 100 times SMALLER than those a medical doctor uses to poke you with. Crazy huh?? After a handful of visits I was finally ballsy enough to ask to see a needle. It was SO small, I couldn't even see it at first. She had to move it around so the light could catch it so I could see it. It's smaller than a hair!!
Everyday I see Dorothy I make sure I have nothing planned afterwards. Why?? Because I usually fall asleep during my session and when I wake up I'm so relaxed I just wanna fall back asleep. So that's exactly what I do. I drive my butt home and get the best sleep!! The days I see Dorothy are the days I don't need to pop medication to sleep which is awesome!!
Thank you AcuSpa!! I recommend you to everyone!! -

Last year, my stress levels have risen to the point where it affected my sleep. I would wake up sweaty, and wouldn't be able to go back sleep for hours. Because I wasn't completely focused and relaxed, I tore my thigh muscle during my martial arts training, and I'm the instructor. When I was in Oregon last year, I let myself get carried away and I seriously injured my neck. The pain I would feel every morning when I woke up was excruciating. I started feeling back pains and had trouble doing almost everything. All that kinda made me depressed and I needed a solution.
Then I was told about AcuSpa. Now I don't know much about TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine), but I do know that it has been performed for the past 3000 years with amazing results. My father who had a good amount stress took acupuncture and it worked greatly for him. I'm fairly open minded so I decided to give it a try. When I walked into Dr. Dorothy's office, there was a good sense of calmness and peace in the air. Her and her staff are very professional with the most relaxed and caring disposition. A great balance to be around.
Dr. Dorothy gave me an introduction on what Acupuncture can do for the human body. Almost every issue that I had could be resolved with acupuncture using and manipulating fine filiform needles into specific areas along the body. Now you think; NEEDLES! SHIT! No no no. These needles are so thin and fine, it almost feels like your cat is sitting on you. Now once in a while, she may get an area that has a thicker layer of skin than others, but that sensation is just a brief moment in time. But the way Dr. Dorothy inserts these needles, she kinda pokes at you with her finger a couple of times, distracting you, and before you know it, the needle is already there.
The first session I had, I passed out. I was so relaxed, I don't know what came over me. I've laid in my bed for hours suffering, trying to sleep, but here lying face down with pins in my back, in my neck, head, ankles, and thighs, I was out in moments. Dr. Dorothy had to wake me up because the session was over. I was a tad embarrassed but more impressed than anything. Now depending on what you need work on will determine the amount of needles used. Since I had a whole package of things, I got the works. I had to go back to work right after the session and my boss thought I was high on something.
Now from what I understand, everybody reacts a little different to medicine, no matter what side its from, but there's no way to know unless you try. Since May of 2008, I've been seeing Dr. Dorothy on a regular basis. I now feel happier in the mornings. The pain in my thigh is gone. My back no longer hurts. My neck is just slightly stiff now, but not throbbing with pain like before. I now see Dr. Dorothy from time to time. I'm gonna be a little bummed once this is all over. AcuSpa does more than just acupuncture too. I got a foot/detox thingy that I need to try out soon. Just gotta make time now. -

I initially called AcuSpa to help me with quitting smoking while here on a visit and I'm so happy I did! I met with Dorothy today and thinks she's one of the most professional and nicest people I've ever dealt with in a health care/acupuncture type of setting.
Dorothy took the time to ask me about my overall health from head to toe and helped to consult me on what would help me with several other ailments that have been on going for the past few years. After multiple treatments today I can move my shoulders now more than I've been able to since I can remember. The urges to smoke have subsided quite a bit as well and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this remains the same in the future.
I am incredibly happy with Dorothy and the service I got at AcuSpa and would highly recommend her to any and everyone I know. -

I am basking now in the afterglow of treatment number two. I feel light and tingly and energized. I am truly frightened of needles, but Dorothy's touch is gentle, and the space she's created is serene. After my first treatment, my partner and I could already see a difference in my face.
I recommend Dorothy if you've never had acupuncture before because she offers educational information about what she's doing while she does it. I also recommend her to the seasoned Traditional Chinese Medicine enthusiast. Her service and knowledge are top notch. -
Review from Aura J.
I have been complaining to Kaiser about pain in my right knee and right shoulder for the last 6 months. It was an off and on pain at first, but after my back spasm in April, the pain was constant.
I've done it all -- Advil, Tiger Balm, massages and physical therapy. I was still in pain. Then I saw Dorothy's ad on YELP for a $60 first acupuncture appointment and I had to try it.
After experiencing it, I am now a firm believer of acupuncture. Who would have known that sticking needles in me would make my pain go away. Dorothy was very informative of the whole process. She sat down and listened to me for 20 minutes about my ordeal with Kaiser and all my pains. Then she had me lay on a massage table to check my shoulder and right knee. Dorothy was very gentle. She explained everything she was doing as she was doing it.
After placing the needles in (which was a light prick; not painful at all) she placed a heat lamp over my right shoulder and blankets on me. Half an hour later Dorothy took the needles out and my right shoulder felt so much better. It is not at 100% (Dorothy said I have lots of little knots versus just one or two big knots) so she told me to wait for Kaiser's referral before making my next appointment.
I can't wait. Out of all the treatments I have tried, acupuncture worked the best. I highly recommend AcuSpa and Dorothy Pang to anybody who wants relief for their pain. -

I am a frequent traveler to the South Bay Area on business and tend to be very active. On a recent trip out I injured my wrist while snowboarding and had a nagging pain that wasn't well treated by over the counter medication. A friend directed me towards Dorothy Pang after being previously treated by her. Giving acupuncture a chance was the best move I have made in a long time. Upon meeting her I was struck by her professionalism and knowledge. She was very patient and explained exactly what she was doing. After momentary discomfort from the intra-dermal treatment I felt instantly better, I found it quite shocking and was an instant believer. I now recommend Dorothy to any friends or associates traveling in the San Francisco Bay Area. Any fears of needles or discomfort should be put at ease, the results speak for themselves!

Dorothy Pang Acupuncture is a great place to get treated for any ailment. It's been my experience that Dorothy is a true professional. She's punctual & her interaction with patients is personable. She really listens to your health problems & comes up with a treatment plan tailored for your own body.
As a person who's terrified of needles, I would rather receive an acupuncture treatment by Dorothy than see my own physican. Why? Her treatments WORK--and there aren't any pages of information on the nasty side-effects of treatment! They're virtually painless since the needles are so small, making for a much more peaceful, relaxing, effective treatment than any Western doctor can give.
I've had Ms. Pang treat me for everything from acid reflux and sciatica to the common cold & migraines. Result? Success on each account. Her treatments are worth every penny! -

My first adventure in Traditional Chinese Medicine and it is good so far. Dorothy is very professional and pleasant and knows exactly what to say and when. I met her at a community health fair and what went from an informational interest in acupuncture has transpired into a healing experience. I am looking forward to what happens next on this journey.

Dorothy and I met years ago while participating in The Women's Initiative. We were both starting up new businesses with our respective fields and we both had clear visions on what we wanted. Dorothy was winding down on an extensive education in acupuncture...well, I suppose the education is never-ending...and she was ready to set up her own establishment. Her maturity, focus, passion and kindness came through in our classes. I am more than confident in saying these attributes carry over into her very well established acupuncture office. In short, she rocks!

Dorothy is extremely knowledgeable about how to optimize health in the human body. She also really cares about her patients and takes the time to listen to what is happening in her client's lives. Her surprisingly gentle touch coupled with the soothing eye pillows and calming music she provides all blend together to create an environment of relaxation and healing. I have had more energy, overall health, and gained more knowledge about my body and my health from my sessions with Dorothy than with any other acupuncturist before.

I've had several treatments for acid reflux from Ms. Pang and I'm a very satisfied customer. At first I was skeptical of the benefits of acupuncture however Ms. Pang provided me with acid reflux relief as effective as medication. The whole process was very relaxing (quite a surprise as I am really not fond of needles) and Ms. Pang was happy to answer all of my questions about the treatment, acupuncture, and the philosophy of traditional Chinese medicine. I've recommended her to several of my friends and she's treated their backaches, pain, and even stress.

I have had the privilege of having Dorothy as my acupuncturist for a couple years now. I have been under Dorothy's care for several different conditions, including migraines, stress, a thyroid condition, and low energy. The treatments really help, and my migraines have gotten so much better. She is extremely knowledgeable in her field. As a caregiver, Dorothy is very conscientious, competent, and efficient. She is dedicated to every task she undertakes. Dorothy is very responsible and thorough as a practitioner. She is always organized and well prepared. I feel very safe under her care. I would highly recommend Dorothy's treatments to anyone new to acupuncture, or anyone seeking a new acupuncturist! I look forward to my treatments with her because they are very relaxing...and they work!

I've had nothing but success while being treated at AcuSpa. Dorothy is amazing. She is professional, extremely knowledgeable with a very caring disposition. Dorothy treated me throughout my pregnancy; everything from morning sickness to preparing my body for birth/delivery. I was amazed after every session I always felt great and noticed a difference. This was my first experience with acupuncture. With these treatments my pregnancy was very easy and the delivery went very smoothly. I am happy to share I am now the proud mother of a healthy beautiful baby girl.
