I love my Betty...that would be my 2004 Acura TSX. She's responsive, sharp, speedy, cute, and very protective of me. And Nigel, my navigator, is the BEST! Unlike my ex, he never yells at me when I make a wrong turn or missread his directions. He simply says, with forbearance and patience: "Whenever possible, make a U-turn." He steers me right, he's the angel on my shoulder. Betty, on the other hand, is a little devil who says "just press that accelerator a little harder, honey...its FUN to go fast through the streets of Beverly" (Hills, that is)...and then lands me in traffic school. But hey.
So I'm ashamed to say that I've neglected Betty a bit this year. What with The Breakup and various dating disasters and The Boss From She-Said-WHAT-To-You-Valentina??? I was a bit, shall we say, errr, forgetful.
The nice men at Acura were a bit surprised, to say the least, that I had let my beautiful Black Betty go for so long. They kept asking "and you haven't brought it to anyone else in these ** months?"
Nope.
Here's the noise the breaks were making when I pulled into the Acura lot:
WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Yes, they made a "p" sound, just like my cat (no one believes that one, but she does! she does!)
I left about $500 bucks poorer (air bucks, as I call anything on my credit card) but with silent brakes and a smoothly purring Betty. The shuttle got me to work lickety split and the shuttle driver and I had a great conversation about spoiled rich kids and their sense of entitlement. He also picked me up EXACTLY on time in my hard-to-find location at Wewillunderpay U., North Campus.
So four stars. They were quick, efficient, and polite. I'd give 'em five stars but I don't want to spoil them...plus my fix guy *did* try to sell me the much more expensive maintenance package and I had the distinct impression I didn't really need it. Later someone told me they're on commission...
But Betty's happy, and I've vowed never to neglect her again. Guys come and go, but Acura TSXs are forever...or at least for 7-8 years.

I would give Acura a five star rating on account that the people are all really cool, seem to tell it like it is, don't try to sell you on shit you just don't need, get you in and out in a relatively quick manner...
BUT...I have to knock off that one little star for a few reasons:
1) I have a K & N oil filter...Jiffy Lube couldn't clean it...Acura WON'T clean it. SO I had to pay them the $28 for anew air filter until my man can get home and clean the damn one I already shelled out for.
2) They charge $50 ABOVE and BEYOND the $80 regular oil change for synthetic...even if you bring your own oil!! A whopping $130!! GOOD LORD! Hence, i went to Jiffy Lube (about $80 for synthetic).
3) they sent me the notice in the mail to get my differential and transmission checked along with my typical oil change/filter swap, etc. So I get there and they are like "Well, if you had your oil changed and fluids topped off at Jiffy Lube, why are you here today?" According to the guy's computer...I had my differential and trans checked the LAST time I came in. GRRRR. So basically, they just rotated my tires, topped off the brake fluid and checked the brakes. Woo woo.
Overall though...people are friendly, they offer a shuttle and rental cars so it's a pretty good place to visit!
