WOW! This place is GREAT and deserves 10 out of 5 Stars!
If you need maintenance and drive a Honda or Acura, you better come over here!
My Honda needed an oil change, brakes, and a tune up. James was the guy who was helping me out. He is knowledgeable when it comes to Honda and Acura (DUH!) and he will tell you in detail of whats happening to your car.
I previously took my car to Wheel Works for brakes and shortly, my car vibrates every time I brake at highway speed... Wheel Works did not do a proper job..
James told me that my rotors needed to be machined and even though my brake pads would've lasted me for a little longer, he recommended that I should get new ones since it is more cost saving if I were to take my car in for new pads. Also, in the future if I have any problems with my brakes, they will accept full liability. That is putting your money where your mouth is.
When I arrived to pick up my car, I found that it was cleaned and detailed! No extra Cost! What also made me REALLY happy was they fixed my car key! My key has the lock, unlock, and trunk button.. I closed my door and my key got slammed between... the plastic was really loose, sometimes falling a part. I didn't have the proper tool to fix it myself and it would have cost me about $35 to get it fixed anywhere else.. James noticed it and fixed it when I picked up my car! Just by talking to him, I can really tell that he cares for his customers. This has been my 1st time that I was happy and satisfied after I took my car in for service!
Again, I highly recommend ANYBODY who needs to service their Honda or Acura!
They did such an excellent job that I'm actually looking forward on my next trip of getting my car serviced!Listed in: Best place for "My Car…

After my trusted Honda/Acura mechanic of 18 years threw in the towel, I spent a year going from dishonest mechanic to dishonest mechanic. Finally, I landed on AH Connection and decided to give the place a try. I should note that I'm an obsessive car enthusiast and generally don't trust anybody with my cars.
Based on my own knowledge, I knew that my 2005 Acura TSX 6MT had warped brake rotors. I wasn't sure of the possibility of resurfacing the rotors, or the possibility of unevenly worn brake pads, so I took the car into AH for a brake inspection. I got a call in a few hours, where a technician explained that all four brake pads had plenty of life left, but the warped front rotors were too worn-down for resurfacing (past minimum thickness specifications). He gave me three options:
1) Replace both the front brake pads and rotors. Reinstalling the old pads, he claimed, had a small chance of causing an annoying brake squeal.
2) Replace just the front rotors. This was the choice he recommended.
3) Take the car home, no services done.
I went with option 2, final quote in the neighborhood of $380. All parts were OEM Honda; each rotor $115, and $140 for labor.
I'm pleased with the service, and most importantly, the honesty. The technician took the time to explain to me very carefully what would be done, and why. Every option was thoroughly explained in a calm manner. Furthermore, the loaner car I received (free) was a 1998 Accord, clean inside and out.
I give the place 4 stars, largely because of the steep labor cost. But for the service I received, I definitely see myself servicing my mint-condition vintage Accord here in the near future. -

I have brought my civic here since I bought it - 6.5 years ago. These guys are great - very friendly, honest, easy to work with. The loaner cars are great! Back in December a tree fell on my car, and I feared it was totaled.
My insurance said to take it to my mechanic to do the damage estimate. When I brought it in, AH Connection went over the damage with me, and I expressed that I really didn't want it totaled - so they talked to me about what we could avoid including in the estimate if it came to that (some minor cosmetic scratches).
They totally went to bat for me with the insurance (my insurance guy said so), and managed to keep it from being declared totaled (just barely).
I just got the car back and it looks GREAT. Better than before the car fell on it! They even popped out a couple of dings I'd put in the bumper - and I know the insurance didn't cover that. Then they detailed the car!
I think I will have to always buy honda just so I don't have to switch mechanics. ;-) -

I came in for an oil change on my 1996 Acura Integra. The technician who worked on the car also found other things that needed to be fixed. James got my check engine light fixed and told me which ones had to be fixed on a priority basis.
The tech did a great job and I was out in 30 minutes. I think these guys are honest, really good and know what they do. I am really glad I found this place. -

AH Connection is a stand up place. Very friendly and straight forward service. They don't try to up-sell you on parts or services. They are honest and not at all condescending. If you have any concerns or questions they answer honestly and truthfully. Fantastic service on my Civic and they even vacuumed out my car.
They will offer you a loaner vehicle as well so that you're not having to wait around if you have to head on in to work.
Great folks here, I will definitely be a regular here for all my Honda service needs!! -

I am very impressed with the customer care. Joe at Acura Honda connection took it upon himself to deal and negotiate with the Insurance company to get me the right parts instead of just touch ups.
He was also willing to do some side clean up while the car was with them.
I would give them 10 stars if I could.
If you have a Honda I don't think there is a better place in the Bay area to get it serviced!!
Thanks Acura Honda connection! -

Great place to take your Honda/Acura if you want expert service, factory parts, and can afford to pay full price for labor. They're really friendly and don't rip you off, which is why I keep coming back even though I can find cheaper service elsewhere.
They always give you a loaner car if you need one, which is really nice. One of my favorite things is that they will tell you some things that may need to be done on your car, but also help you decide if it's worth it. My Dodge Caravan had a small oil leak, but they told me it was probably better just to keep topping off the oil due to the high repair cost. My Honda has a check engine code on the catalytic converter but they said we could just get it fixed before our next smog check.
No high pressure tactics, no bait-and-swtich, no low quality parts. Friendly service, experts at car repair, and a staff that treats you like family. More expensive than the cheap repair shops, but cheaper than a dealer. -

Dear Yelp-ers,
This is real yelp help and thank G-d for having yelp with us. They should put into instructions for new comers to US. "Use , Use , and always use yelp". This is how I came across AHC.
Having sad that let me give you my experience on AH Connection:
No.1 Extremely professional and knowledgeable.
No.2 Reasonable price ( even less then most shops in Bay area)
No.3 Honest business approach and not push on the changes.
No.4 Free loaner - you can't beet that - (I never had that in my country)
WARM RECOMMENDATION TO EVERYONE!
THIS IS HOW BUSINESS SHOULD BE RUN!
Thank you AHC and see you soon.

You would be CRAZY to go anywhere else for your Acura or Honda needs. I've taken my MDX and our daughter's 2001 Honda Civic there. Also, even when my daughter's Honda broke down in LA and had to be repaired by a dealer there, Jonas dropped what he was doing and took my call to field my questions, and guide me in the right direction in knowing wha to ask the dealer to ensure a quality job was done. THANK YOU Joey & Jonas. You have a lifetime customer in the Pickering family.

Thanks again, Yelp! I found my awesome dentist near work, and now I have a great mechanic near home! All the reviews are true. These guys are really awesome. I took my 2010 Honda Fit to this place. They were charging $99 for a maintenance B and to rotate my tires, which was the same price as the dealership. However, unlike the dealership, they gave me a loaner car for free, so I can drive to work.
Gave the car at 7:00 AM and they finished the work at 10AM. But I couldn't pick up the car till 5:00PM. I was even running late and came at around 5:15 and they were still there working. Bill explain to me what they did to the car and explain what I should be concerned about. He also answered all of my questions very well.
I was also surprised to see that they washed my car! I haven't washed my car in a year, and it was pretty muddy and gross. But they washed it saying they don't normally do this, but since I am new and my car look really bad, they took pity on me and did it.
I never been to a mechanic shop where getting my car fixed was so easy. I made an appointment, dropped off my car, came back and didn't have to wait at all. The service is totally better than any dealership. I will definitely be coming back here for routine maintenance. -

After reading the many Yelp reviews, and moving to this new town, I thought why not. It's repair shop shopping time.
I'm just thankful I didn't have to shop any further! I love this place. They are honest and not always finding yet another problem or cost for your car.
The first time I came in just to get a headlight replaced and instead of overcharging me for labor my service manager charged me just for the light and I mentioned that the other headlight was pointing up and they turned that in the right direction on the house.
So obviously I came here to get my oil changed a month later and the same service manager (I think his name was Bill, the Asian man), also helped in deciding if I needed a more thorough service done on my car. I didn't and the whole time it just felt like he was a mentor explaining to me when I would need one and that's only if I haven't gotten a check since this long, etc.
I definitely left feeling like this is my spot. When I need new brakes or an engine check, this is where I'm coming. No doubt. -

I've been going to see these guys for a few years, and they always meet or exceed my expectations. I needed some body work done on my Honda Element, and they were able to do the work at a very reasonable cost. I was impressed at how fast they were able to get the job done. Fortunately, I must have caught them at a time when they weren't so busy. I will always take my Honda to AH Connection over the dealer

This place is tucked away in a light-industrial area of San Jose. It's not really set up for you to hang out there while your car is being worked on, but it's a minor inconvenience compared with the elation you may experience after realizing you've found the Honda mechanic you're going to stick with for the rest of your Honda-owning life.
I went in for a brake job, got a brake job. The mechanic didn't try to up-sell me on any fancy stuff. He was friendly and answered my questions with great patience. The shop was clean and well run.
I didn't take advantage of the free loaner car, since I had a free morning and just walked over to the Coleman Crossing shopping center for a few hours. I was going to dally there for a while and then walk home (I live nearby) but by the time I got done with my errands, the car was ready.
One thing: he did recommend calling ahead for an appointment. I don't think this is one of those places where you have to wait days or weeks for an opening, but he said I would get faster turnaround if I call ahead to let them know I'm coming next time. -

AH CONNECTION now has 143 reviews and maintains a 5 star rating. that being said, I would rate it 3 stars but I don't think my experience was negative enough to break their 143 review-long streak...
my acuras maintenance light went on around 56K and after doing some research, realized that its the 60K service light coming on early. I had some service done around 52K and after discussing with joe I was relatively pleased.. I had to take a phone call, mid discussion and they all left to handle their own business.
I was asking a lot of questions, as I don't want to spend money unnecessarily and don't know acuras too well.. honestly, the 5/5 reviews on yelp hyped this spot up way too much.
-be prepared to spend $3-500 on your car NO MATTER WHAT unless you just want a $45 oil-change?!
-don't let all the 5/5 reviews fool you, this spots service isn't THAT great. its normal at best.
-they do have loaner cars for long-term repairs. a fleet of accords, all good.

My Honda mechanic retired and I needed my brakes checked out. I will not go to anyone without getting referrals first. Two of my friends who are Honda owner's recommended this place so I called them and made an appointment.
1. They were very friendly and didn't talk down to me just because I'm a female.
2. They gave me a loaner car free of charge.
3. They had the best price for brakes of anyone in the area.
4. They informed me of issues Honda's have with their rotors that only a Honda mechanic would know.
5. They were finished in a couple hours.
I will use them as my future Honda mechanic and would recommend them to other's. -

AH Connection has been the best thing that I've found for my car!
I've brought in my Acura for two major services here, and worked with James both times. He and the staff were exceptionally pleasant and easy to work with. The free loaner car is a life-saver!!!!
Their work is excellent, and prices are fair. You'll pay less than you would at a dealership, but you'll still have the confidence that they specialize in Hondas and Acuras. You're just not paying for the "complimentary" leather chairs in the waiting area, free bottled water, and shuttle services. -

I was not at all happy with the recommendation that I needed to spend an extra $300 on my brakes, but....................
I trust this place. I made an appointment for a 60k service. I was pleased with the free loaner car offer. I decided to also ask for a quote for all my dings and dents. They could have upsold me but they gave me an honest recommendation on how to fix my body damage.
The fifth star is for giving my car a full wash. I didn't even notice until the evening. I appreciate quality service and will definitely be an on going customer moving forward.
Thanks! -

I went here to get an estimate of repairing my car when I got in a minor accident getting out of my garage. Although I did not make use of their services because i got a cheaper quote somewhere else, I've got to say Joey was very nice and very professional. He explained to me what my repair options are and even wiped affected area with some kind of solution to show my exactly what the damage was even though he didn't have to.

I have been taking my car to AH Connection now for about 4 years. When I first moved to the Bay from MO, I was taking my '05 TSX to the dealership....what a rip-off that move was. After talking with a co-worker about her Honda and where she got it serviced, I decided it was time to try them out. I have been satisfied ever since.
Between James, Jonas, and Joey, they are all straight shooters and won't over-sell, up-sell, or screw you out of anything. They run an honest business. I have had all my minor, major, and intermediate services done here, along with some body work for a fender-bender. The workmanship is always top-notch! And come on, a free loaner car.....who does that nowadays....sheesh that's awesome!
The ratings that AH Connection receives speak for the quality of service that you will get here. For those few thorns that gave low ratings, trust me, check them out again because they are supreme. -
Review from Aasim K.
I have had years of horrible experiences with mechanics around the bay area. Some were okay, others just plain sucked. But they all had one thing in common - they charged a sh*tload and always left something unfixed just to have me come in a few months later to pay more $$$.
I decided to give AH a try after all the great reviews. I couldn't be more happy. AH is professional, affordable, and understands how to treat customers well.
I was greeted by James who walked me through the entire service plan and had me in the loaner car in less than 10 minutes. Once done, James took the time to go through the inspection and subsequent service in laymen terms and gave me a reasonable expectation on when to bring my car in next. There was 0 bs and the pricing was more than fair IMO. I am looking forward to having my car serviced by AH for a long time. -

AH Connection is simply the best.
Honest, reliable, predictable, courteous, friendly and convenient.
Great customer service doesn't seem like "rocket science" to me but if more businesses took a page from AH Connection's book, and conducted themselves as they do, the world would be a much happier place.
I will probably continue to purchase Honda vehicles SIMPLY so I can continue to use AH connection. Honest mechanics are hard to find. -

5 stars!
I was looking for a shop to repair my vehicle was an accident. After taking it to get inspected by a shop recommended by the insurance company, I decided to bring it to the AH guys.
After a day I got a call back to quote my car once again, but this time they were able to find a few issues that the other shop did not. They said my AC compressor was also crush, that probably explained why it didn't feel like it was working. (Blasting warming air!)
But my car was finish in a very speedy time. And the quality, although I am no body expert, was great. My car did not look like the 1 eye scraper it did the week earlier. I expected to see some minor flaws with the alignment of the fender and body door and/or hood. But I have to say the work was "clean".
One thing I also have to mention is the service they provided not only did the job on the car they did was great. But their friendliness and professionalism was wonderful. (Especially with the free loaner!) I should have written this review a few months ago. Yet I just didn't, its wasn't until I needed some work on my alternator done. I am deciding to bring it back to them. I remember when my car was a wreck and it was a pretty hard time. These guys however made me feel like I was going to be taken care of. They're really honest with their work. Time to go pay them a visit again! -

Recently had to go back because my check engine light came on while I was driving up the Sunol grade(Yikes!!). I called when I got to work and was asked if I could be there by 3:30pm same day. Thank goodness! I was really nervous at what it could be and at 2pm, made my way slowly back to SJ. I arrived and was seen immediately. After the diagnostic, it turned out that my car needed a bit of oil...which is what I supposed to do over the weekend!!! : ( . Needless to say, that all is well currently and am grateful for the assistance and care that my car receives. I am glad to take my car to them!!

Highly recommended for you Honda and Acura owners! Great service, upfront prices, and friendly people.
I was referred to Acura Honda Connection by Nam N. who got me in contact with her mechanic, James. I am planning to drive my '96 Civic 30+ hours to Texas so I definitely need to get my A/C in working order.
The main points that stuck out to me were:
1. James called me about everything that came up with my car before doing any work on it. That way, I was informed and didn't have to pay for any work I didn't want done.
2. Ethics and quality of work. There was a leak somewhere in my A/C system so there was no freon at all. I asked if he could just charge (fill) my system for the meantime so that it would get me through the long drive. He told me it made no sense to spend all that money and have it leak out within a month. The thing that changed my mind was that he said the freon gas is very toxic and harmful to the environment.
3. Free loaner car. All I had to do was provide proof of insurance and I was set. This really comes in handy when life forgets to stop because your car is in the shop.
Conclusion: I made the drive to Texas and my A/C is still working like a champ. I just hope to find a quality auto shop like Acura Honda Connection out here! -
Review from Cheryl S.
Sunnyvale, CA
I'm actually the husband of Cheryl but we kindof share the same Yelp account. She isn't quite the type of "spirited" driver like I am, which is why I am saying this ;) My name is Clay. Hi!
Wow! All I can say is that these guys are beyond awesome!
I drive my Honda S2000 really hard and take it in for regular "checkups" to make sure I haven't broken anything and that all things are safe. I've been looking for a mechanic like this for a long time.
I came in for an oil change and to get things generally checked out. They gave me a loaner car even though this wasn't going to take all that long. I don't understand why other mechanics don't do this, as it makes sense that good mechanics could easily keep a fleet of beater loaner cars running pretty much forever (especially Hondas and Acuras), fixing them up in the downtime when business happened to be a little slow.
Turned out my front brakes were pretty much done which I wasn't surprised about given the way I drive, but they gave me a price quote that was the same as if I was replacing the brakes on a Civic, including parts!
They didn't try to upsell me on anything even though I was basically asking for it, and they were incredibly knowledgeable about all kinds of subtle details of my car.
And - they really didn't have to do this but this is what makes me wish Yelp allows six stars - they gave my car such a detailed wash that it looks better than the last time I washed and detailed it myself! They even got all the crud off of my wheels, and they are super shiny!
My braking feels better then when I bought the car. They did some subtle tuning when they machined the rotors which had become warped due to my aggressive braking, and it seems they brought them to utter perfection.
I could not be happier!!!! -

Short story:
Bravo!
I love this place. They take good care of you.
They give you free loaners so you don't have to worry about a ride.
I've been going to AC Connection for about 5 years. I wouldn't go anywhere else unless they referred me.
Long story:
I just had to go to a dealer to get an oil change before a long trip and the dealer came back with a bunch of things that were failing on my car. I called AC connection and took my car in to get it checked there and they fixed some maintenance issues like replacing the original hoses for the cooling system, and they suggested replacing my radiator since it was also original and it was past it's lifespan, and they could lower the labor cost doing them at the same time. It sucked, but I can't complain because compared to a monthly car payment I'd rather keep this one going until it's not worth it! Also the dealer prices for all this were much more. The dealer also said I needed new spark plugs, and AC said no you don't they aren't that old. Nuf said! -
Review from Ninja C.
Santa Clara, CA
I just took my little Monday-Friday commuter car (1999 Civic) in for my 2nd visit at Acura Honda Connection for some follow-up work that my car needed. As was the case with my first visit, I went in for some small work but left opting for additional work my car needed. While it may sound like they are up-selling (I'm sure they are, but in a good non-pressure way) it's good to know that they thoroughly check your vehicle for any problems that non-mechanics wouldn't have known about.
My first visit, I worked with Jonas for a simple transmission fluid change and valve adjustment. While there, they found my water pump was leaking ever so slightly. He didn't push to have it changed, he just mentioned to keep an eye on the engine temp gauge and coolant level every so often. They also saw that my oil pan gasket needed to be replace, again nothing urgent but something to be aware of. Jonas was very nice, called to keep me updated on my car and clear on price/justification. Also, AH Connection has their own fleet of loaner cars which takes away a lot of hassle.
Fast forward to this week when I went back to get the oil pan gasket and other items to be taken care of and this time worked with the other co-owner, Joey. Dropped off my car, picked up the loaner and went to work. A few hours later, I was told the oil pan was done but the previously barely leaking water pump was now leaking more and needed to be replaced. Long story short, I had other items that needed to be replaced and Joey threw in some items no-charge. Like Jonas, Joey was very professional and pleasant to work with. And again I took advantage of their loaner car service, even over-night.
All in all, I spent over $1K on my little Civic for a LOT of work but it should be good to go for another 4-5 years before it needs any more major work. I would summarize AH Connection as great service at a fair price. You *could* go to a different shop that may not use genuine Honda parts (AH Connection used Honda parts) or one that is a little cheaper in price, but I feel AH Connection more than makes up for any difference in reliable service, honest customer service and their loaner cars. -

Good, honest, respectful, speedy service. What else can I say? And the free loaner car really helped. I also love how these guys tell you what's up without trying to scare you into getting services you don't need, unlike the dealership. I'll go back for sure.

Standup folks who work here. In fact, looking for a mechanic is what got me into Yelp in the first place. Anyways, I have a 2008 TSX and I used to get it serviced at a dealership up in the East Bay. Now that we moved back down here, I needed a fair and decently priced place to take my rig.
No matter what I get done here, major tune up, oil change, etc... their prices always beat the dealership by quite a bit. Also, the folks behind the counter are straight shooters as well. I never get the upsell and they always seem to have the customer best interest in mind. Legit 5 star operation. -

The transmission on our '02 MDX started failing during a long road trip. We called AHC for an over-the -phone diagnosis. Jonas confirmed our suspicions and offered a couple of recommendations to help us reach our destination. He also gave us his cell phone number in case we had trouble after hours, which we did.
We called his cell around 6:30pm, and he patiently talked us through a short-term solution that (with prayer) helped us get another 60 miles and reach our destination.
We also called him the next day as we were shopping for a mechanic in the San Diego area and he willingly gave us advice on the cost and who to use (recommending a dealer to ensure transmission built with all Acura parts and according to latest specs) even though they wouldn't get the benefit.
Customer service doesn't get any better than this. -

I wrote 2 reviews about this place and gave it 5 stars.
I was flagged for my comments on it not being any other kind of shop than what the name states, because I was speaking truth. It's NOT any of those shops which "Yelp Monitors" and "flaggers" should realize if they were looking at the business name. When I got an email that my review was removed because "I was replying to another persons review about an Isuzu and an attack on a employee", I found it to be quite funny!
I have added them in again and made edits on what could have been misconstrued by the "Yelp User Support at HQ"
REMOVED PREVIOUSLY: Jan 29, 2009 I held off on writing this because they have gotten so much business from Yelp I didn't want to make them forget about me! :) But they will be my go to for the life of my Honda!!! It's an ACURA/ HONDA shop - not a Isuzu, not a Toyota and not BMW. Go get your own freakin technicians man.

Short and to the point, all of the guys I have worked with (the 3 J's) Joey, Jonas and James have been nothing short of professional and honest. They offer the best advice and recommend only the things that are needed! I just got off the phone with James and they found out what the issue with my car is and it turns out that it's not as bad as we originally braced for. YAY! -

Totally deserving of each 5-star rating! The hype is true. Acura Honda Connection rocks!
I had to replace my catalytic converter in order for my Honda to pass smog. Willow Glen 76 quoted me $1300 and AHC did it for $900. Service was fast and the staff was friendly and honest.
Big thanks for washing my dirty car too! I'll be back for all of my Honda maintenance.
5 stars!
