I started coming to Jess about a month ago for headaches that had begun to last for four continuous days. I had tried many remedies, aspirin, Excedrin, ibuprofen, Aleve and muscle relaxants to help alleviate my pain to no avail. As a last resort, I contacted Beth Israel's world renowned pain center and the directed me to their website that suggested acupuncture as a clinically proven management technique for headaches.

Within a month of going to receive acupuncture with Jess for once a week, my headaches have reduced to once a week. This is a vast improvement that I believe I owe to Jess' warm touch and gentle practice. I love the sunny, cheerful environment, the large comfy chairs, and Jess' compassion.

I worked with Jess for about 2-3 months, until I moved away from Boston. I originally came in for hair loss, but we ended up working on/fixing all my other various issues that came up over that time- plantar fascitis, irregular periods, etc.

The sessions are on a scaled $15-35. You place the money in an envelope with your name in it, and then in a dropbox. For your session, you are in one of 4 comfortable recliner chairs, with multiple people in the same room as you (usually 1-2 other people). Jess spent time talking to me about how I was feeling and any issues I was having, then we'd go in. She'd sterilize the parts of my body where she was going to put the needles, and then would unwrap the needles and place them in. It was rare that anything was uncomfortable- once or twice, a needle felt uncomfortable, so I'd tell her right away and she'd fix it. After about an hour, she would ask me if I was ready to finish, and she'd remove my needles and put them in a needle container.

My symptoms for my issues certainly improved, but nothing was 100% "cured". However, if I hadn't left Boston, I would have continued treatment- Jess warned me at the beginning that it often takes awhile to see results for things like hair loss. I also loved their online scheduling- it was so easy and convenient.

If you're interested in trying acupuncture, or if you have some sort of issue you've been having trouble curing, I'd definitely give Jess and Acupuncture for Everyone a try!

Anne is great and very warm.  She listens to your concerns and carries out a treatment accordingly.

The treatments are very relaxing for me and I do not care that there are others in the room. It is a clean and peaceful environment.

    Highly recommend Acupuncture for Everyone!
I've been seeing Jess since April 2011 and she was able to fix what 5 orthopedic surgeons were not. About 6 years ago I started to get horrible pain in my right wrist and fingers, every orthopedic surgeon gave me a different diagnosis and kept throwing pain pills at me (that didn't even help!) on top of the pain about a year ago my ring finger started locking in the curled position (and I couldn't unbend it) after two months of acupuncture I have absolutely no pain and full movement back in my finger.

I love both Anne and Jess. They're both very warm and caring. I can't believe how affordable this place is, and it's just right downtown near the Copley station. I had a chronic tension headache that I had for years before I came there. After a couple of session, I can definitely feel the difference. I recommended the place to some friends, and they all love it.

Jess is a patient and kind miracle-worker. I found this place by a simple Yelp search (honestly, you guys are the best!) and talked to a friend who had been a regular at her local community acupuncture branch and she highly recommended the format of this place (she'd never been to Acupuncture for Everyone). As you can read in other reviews here, the actual acupuncture room is a tiny, quiet space with four huge recliners (think those cushy La-Z-Boys that always lured you as a kid in your grandparents' house).

I've never tried acupuncture before visiting this place, but have decided it's a bit of a last resort after medical doctors have given up on me (in actual, literal quotes from several doctors...hooray!). So I nervously rolled up my jeans and took off my socks for my first visit. Jess instantly accessed some of my main health problems and worked out the needle pinpoints to target. Honestly, I felt pretty bad after the first two visits. Jess explained that this can happen if you've been ill or "unbalanced" for some time. On my third visit, Jess tried another avenue for pinpoints and here I am, a regular weekly devotee.

Part of the reason I usually feel better when I leave here, aside from the mellowed-out-euphoria resulting from those needles, is Jess's persistent optimism. Her energy is very relaxed and genuine and she puts you at ease right off the bat. She really cares about her patients/guests/what are we called?

I haven't yet seen Anne, but from these reviews, it sounds like she's another amazing artist. I really appreciate the affordability of this place and that they truly offer a fantastic service that's affordable for most people (a sliding scale of $15-$30 a visit...you decide how much to pay and slip it into a box in the office).

This reminds me: I need to make my appointment for next week!

I found this wonderful little establishment through yelp and I'm happy to report I was more than satisfied with what I discovered here. I have seen Jess a handful of times and she is a warm, caring person who works with you to find treatment options for a variety of ills. I wasn't that familiar with acupuncture going in but Jess was more than willing to answer any questions I had (do those HURT?) and I've felt very comfortable at each appointment.

Acupuncture for Everyone is practiced in a community setting, meaning that you won't be all alone on a table in a sterile room (anyone else see that episode of Sex and The City?) Instead, you'll be in a small, cozy space with up to four other people at a time. This might sound awkward ("are they peeking at where my needles are??) but it's actually a really nice vibe since everyone's so relaxed. I've been known to be uptight for the first few minutes and then pass out halfway through so don't think that you're a failure if you're not meditating and focusing on healing the whole time. Stop by if you're curious and want to support a great local practice that makes acupuncture accessible to the whole community!

I must update. I have been seeing Jess since February and she has changed my life for the better....no doubt. She has healed my back and shoulder pain and has been treating me for stress management. All I can say is that Jess Gerber has immeasurable compassion and it is only obvious that she is so devoted to wellness and helping people. Jess is truly amazing and so important to me. I am so thankful for her.

    Another yelp success story!

Anne and Jess have a great practice in a lovely old building in Copley square.  Note:  It does not say acupuncture for everyone, but its housed in the "community church" building next to the World restaurant.

They operate on a sliding scale, and are so accommodating to wonky schedules!  There are evening times and day times available, and the online registration is really awesome - just sign up for an open time and its yours!  They send email reminders for your appointments (but only if you want them :).

If you are interested in acupuncture, go to them.  If you're a little skeptical of acupuncture, go to them.  They're very reassuring people, who are genuinely interested in treating whatever you need treated, without any judgement.  And thats so refreshing and rare.

Acupuncture takes some getting used to, as is obvious. But if you can get past the site of having parts of your body looking like a porcupine, then I can only say it's been a lifesaver for me. It looks kinda weird, but it's really nothing at all to worry about, as I've never had an issue with it.

I'm a tennis player, and have various aches and pains from time to time that I used to attribute to the normal routine of playing a sport. Then I began to notice the pain more acutely, and much more localized, particularly my feet. So, after some time thinking about acupuncture, my cousin recommended I give this place a try.

What's great about Acupuncture for everyone is that it's a community based clinic. They operate on a sliding scale, which is a practice I'd like to see more of, particularly in these hard times when people need medical attention but may lack the funds. While the session takes place, you're in a group setting with several other patients, and it's nice and relaxing. It's a great concept when you think about it, a group of people looking like porcupines in a community run clinic. Lol!

As an LV-totin', full foil highlighin', high anxiety ad girl, I never thought I'd get into an  alternative medicine like acupuncture. But my high anxiety ways led me here - and I'm so glad!! On a friend's glowing recommendation (for both Jess and Anne) - I recently started seeing Jess. She is wonderful. Kind, patient and compassionate. And you know she's heard it all, so forget about being embarrassed about anything.

As many folks have mentioned, the building and space are very basic; but its clean and bright and cozy; really what more do you want? I also (as an acupuncture newbie) really liked the community setting, since it was a bit less scary to be sitting there stuck with needles when there were 3 other people just hanging out doing the same thing. The needles are one-time use, and Jess is great about prep and post needle removal; so no worries there.

If you're curious about acupuncture or looking to change practicioners; please see Jess and Anne!

    Professional, awesome, totally affordable.

I go to Anne Drogin at Acupuncture for Everyone.  She's thorough, knowledgeable, warm, intuitive, informative, calm, totally friendly, low-key, helpful.  She uses disposable needles so no worries about proper sterilization.  Like the others have said, it's in a great, easy to get to location on Boylston St, a block away from the Boston Public Library.  You sit in an old comfy recliner in a small room with 3 other recliners and get your needle on!

If you've ever been curious about going to acupuncture, or if you're shopping around for a new practitioner, please try Acupuncture for Everyone. They deserve the business!  You deserve awesomeness!  Win-win.

It's far too early for me to know if acupuncture is going to be an effective treatment for me, but I had to write a review about Anne.  I can't say enough good things about her.
The office is very easy to get to - just take the train to Copley and walk about a block.  It's a nice place, cozy and clean with progressive signs all over the walls.  For your first appt, try to fill out your intake forms in advance (I forgot mine) and bring cash or a check (payment is a sliding scale).
It's clear that Anne is skilled and knowledgable.  She has such a peaceful demeanor, nurturing and full of humility, but it's also clear how talented she is.  She answers every question thoroughly and honestly, with expertise.
After my thorough evaluation with Anne, where I was interested to find out that my three seemingly unrelated health problems are all related to the kidney in Chinese medicine, I went into the acupuncture room.  It's warm and peaceful with calm music and four cozy recliner chairs where you sit/lie for treatment.  There were two others and they both looked happy.
When Anne put the first few needles in, I felt fine.  Anne asked very often if I was doing okay.  Then, after several, I started to feel a little bit faint and dizzy.  Then my vision started to get a little dark, like it does when you stand up suddenly.  I told Anne this and I was so amazed by her swift and nurturing reaction.  First she took out all of the needles.  Then I thought to myself, "It's hot!"
She said, "I think it must be hot."
Then I thought to myself, "I'm nauseous.  I need water."  She said, "Let me get you some cold water."
Then I thought to myself, "Why am I sweating so much??" She said, "I'll bring you a cool cloth for your forehead."
It was like she was reading my mind!!  I felt much better within a minute or two.  The whole three-minute ordeal I just kept thinking, thank goodness Anne is here.
I found out afterward that this is called "needle shock" and it happens to 1 out of every 20 or 30 new patients.  It could have been bad but with Anne there it was fleeting.  Usually it only happens at the initial treatment.  I am looking forward to coming back.
In my judgment, there are only two ways a person would not enjoy this: (1) if they do not believe in or respect Eastern medicine or (2) if they are very concerned with having a luxury-based spa experience.
My favorite thing about Boston is the talented and socially conscious people I meet.  It's very clear that Anne has found her calling in life and is using her extraordinary skills to make acupuncture accessible for everyone.  I'm proud to know her.

I have been going to Acupuncture for Everyone in Boston / Copley Square for almost a year and I was somewhat skeptical about acupuncture at first, but now I'm a believer and I would definitely recommend them. Anne Drogin and Jess Gerber will quickly become your favorite people once you realize you feel better every time you go to them. They have a website that gives details on what conditions they treat: http://www.everyonesac..., but as far as I can tell acupuncture makes everything better.

The office is on Boylston Street in Back Bay, right in Copley Square, in the same building as The Globe bar. They have flexible hours, including Saturday appointments. They also have a sliding fee scale, which makes it possible for me to go as often as I need to because it is so affordable.

Jessica is everything that an acupuncturist should be.  She is kind, intuitive, patient and attentive.  If you want a detailed explanation of why she is sticking you this way and that, she'll give it to you.  If you would rather relax and simply put yourself in her hands, you can rest assured that she'll take very good care of you.  Her intake is thorough and her skill is remarkable.  I have received acupuncture from several practitioners, but I'm sticking (ha!) with Jess.  The Working Class Acupuncture movement is one that I appreciate, and one that you'll surely be glad to be a part of.

If you want to try acupuncture, Acupuncture for Everyone is a great place to go. It is a communal setting--you sit in a lounge chair (fully dressed, with your sleeves and pant legs rolled up), and have the needles placed in you. Because of the communal setting, the prices are much more reasonable than other acupuncturists--you can pay as little as $15/session. And you don't get  a knock-off acupuncturist, either! I've seen Ann Drogin there, and she is super knowledgeable. She's even an instructor of acupuncture at local colleges. She's also just a very nice person. You get plenty of one-on-one attention before and after your appointment--it's not like you have to discuss your private health concerns in front of anyone.
The chairs are comfy and they play soothing music--I often fall asleep! The needles don't hurt at all, maybe a tiny pinch.

As everyone else has said, Acupuncture for Everyone is a great find, and provides an incredible service to the Boston area. I saw Jess and her understanding of acute pain management was outstanding. Because it is community acupuncture, don't expect spa-like digs -- the setting is informal and full of lefty pamphlets and signs (ok, that made me love it even more); rest assured that the treatment you receive will be utterly professional. Highly recommend.

This is by far one of the best ways I have found to treat, heal, relax and feel so ever cared for. I am a working mom of 2 little children and helping daddy launch a new business, things are busy-always.

Anne has changed my life!!! She is treating me for stress, sleep, energy and a recent case of hair loss or alopecia due to maybe post pregnancies and my busy lifestyle.

I feel so much more at ease with my challenges day to day and I sleep so much better than ever and can carry on with the day in a lighter, brighter, positive way.

And, to boot my hair is growing back, yeah!! No other doctor has been able to successfully treat this condition, Anne is gentle, kind, caring and always attentive to my needs, simply amazing!!

The setting is relaxing in this affordable and low key environment and refreshing for this area of back bay- very, highly recommended.

I have been going to see Jess Gerber at Acupuncture for Everyone for a few months now and I am more relaxed, my shoulders don't get tight, and my blood pressure is staying where it should be. I am also sleeping soundly every night and have tons of energy. I wasn't horribly ill when I started going, I just had nagging stress-related problems that I thought I could get some help with. I didn't expect to get rid of the problems and have more energy too. I have to admit I didn't have high expectations from acupuncture, but I am definitely a convert. Jess is there on Saturdays, which works for my schedule.

So, this is my first acupuncture experience. I am a bit on the squeamish side and don't usually volunteer to allow myself to be skewered. I had always been curious, and with a fair amount of chronic neck and shoulder pain and a recommendation from a dear friend, I decided it was time to take the plunge. I have to say, the idea of a place that could offer treatment on a sliding scale was appealing and indicated practitioners looking to make their services accessible to a wider community. Major win. This is no frills, mind you- if you are looking for a private room with all the bells and whistles, you can pay 4X more and go to a spa. The treatment room has 4 comfy old easy chairs, is cozy with soothing music and a sound machine. My therapist, Anne is likely one of the most genuinely warm people I have encountered. Precisely the kind of reception a needle phobe is looking for. She never rushes you, always calm and reassuring. At treatment end she always adds in a hug for good measure. I can't recommend highly enough.

This place is almost too good to be true, but it is!  I went initially for recurring muscle spasms in my back.  About 90 seconds after Jess set the needles during my first session I literally felt my entire back release.  I've been back weekly since even thought my back continues to behave (or maybe it's continues to behave because I keep going back).  Nonetheless I have begun to understand the many ways the acupuncture is helping me.  Today I went in a complete stress ball and I walked out wondering why I was so stressed before.  On top of all that, the sliding scale rates are very affordable.  This is the perfect place to get started if you're curious about acupuncture - and I'm sure that you'll be back many times after you satisfy that curiosity.  Thanks Jess!
