Review from Ivan P.

Great store. The employees are very helpful and friendly. The selection of clothes is very wide. I've caught myself coming to this store almost every week now, coming out of the store with a bag in my hand almost every time.

Love to go here because of their large selection of clothes and other accessories. My main reason to come here usually is the jeans. I love the Active Churchill jeans. I have them in nearly every color and now I don't wear anything else. Besides that, they have a great selection of watches and sunglasses.

It's becoming less-and-less that I come around to buy clothes from here. The prices are outrageous. They used to carry a better selection of clothing, but it's not the only reason why I come to this store.
I bought my skateboard from here. A Habitat deck, Independent trucks, Swiss bearings, and Habitat wheels (to match the deck) -- all custom picked by me. The dude behind the counter was very helpful, and even expounded on his expertise as to why to go with the bigger wheels and slightly bigger deck than I last rode. I agreed with him for what I wanted to do with my deck.
Most of the employees here LOOK like slackers, but they totally aren't. The manager recognizes me when I come in and always acknowledges me. (Well, in his own way, I suppose, haha.) I saw a pair of pants I wanted to buy -- plain chino's that I like to wear for work, since I teach and I want to buy pants that I can also wear outside of work -- and, of course, they didn't have my size. (I wear a popular waist size, as it seems.)
Anyway, I asked one of the employees the dreaded question I'm sure they hate to hear:
"Do you have any more sizes in the back?"
He asked me what size, and I told him. He said he doubted it (usually what I hear from lazy employees), but he'd check anyway. Lo and behold, he found my size, and brought more of the pants to stock up. Well, he didn't seem too lazy to me, and I guess you could say he was quite efficient to boot!
Back to the manager. I wanted to buy something there as a birthday present for my sister. I had gone with her there once, and she remarked how she thought some of the clothes were cute. Her birthday was the next day, I hadn't bought her anything yet, and I didn't feel like scavenging for a better selection of b-day present material outside of the SCV. So, I went to Active, as it served a purpose for me, as well. (...wanted to check and see if they had these fly Paul Frank sunglasses I had seen somewhere...)
Well, I found a suitable, thin and cute, button up sweater that I thought my sister would like. I walked up to the counter to pay. Apparently there was a sale that had ended the day before, and the manager hooked me up because it would save me $20. He gave me the universal head nod that us men give to each other to indicate he did me a solid. Now that's taking care of your customers, baby!!
Back to my main reason for going to this shop...
The skateboard, in its completion from scratch, cost me $145 -- pretty standard, in my opinion for the cost of a complete board. Like I mentioned the price of their clothing (which runs the gamut from Penguin, Paul Frank, Diesel to more skater-friendly clothing such as Krew, Altamont, Element and on to uncategorizeables, such as RVCA, Obey, Hurley, etc.
Their selection of watches and sunglasses are pretty extensive. The dressing room sizes are generous. Their stock of Vans is alright, with their Nike dunks not so bad. The customer service is good. The parking is a-plenty, and it's right next to Papolini's -- mm mm mmm!
So, to round out the review, if you don't care about spending a butt-load on your clothes, Active is pretty cool with their selection of clothing. If you want employees who are helpful, and knowledgeable about skateboards, this is a great option for you.Listed in: Santa Clarita

Review from Jeri L.

Not being a skater or anything, I think the store itself is great. It has a cool vibe and compared to other Actives I've been to, it's really big. The prices are on the expensive side but reasonable. I really only go there when there is a sale and in between seasons. Being a girl, it would be nice to have more female items available because being a skate shop, of course there is an emphasis on guys clothing. I prefer to go to http://ActiveMailOrder... when I want a variety of items.
