Review from J. C.

This is a great Active location (pardon the pun). They have events here often and the staff is always friendly. Their selection of sporting goods is just like any other Active.
I forget the manager's name. But, she's uberly nice and went out of her way to help me the last time I was here. -

Terrible customer service.
My bf and I were here the other day... he LOVES Active. I purchased a few items while he looked around, and when I left the counter he was ready to go. We were about to leave but he wanted to look at the lanyards... so as we walked back to the side of the register, some blonde curly-haired PRICK asked for my bag to hold at the counter. Mind you, I had JUST purchased $100 worth of items from THEIR store, and we were just taking a quick peek at the lanyards before leaving. Tell me WHY they want to hold my bag at the counter? Do they really think I'm going to STEAL something from a glass case which requires a KEY to open? And when I just spent a bunch of money there?
It was pretty ridiculous. I've never encountered that kind of problem at a store before. Sure, I've been to stores that ask to hold bags (of clothes purchased at other stores) before entering the dressing room, but never while browsing through a store... and never shortly after purchasing said items from their store.
Eff you Active Brea! Eff you!

Review from Andrew W.
the owner of this place seems to have opened this store when smart people were willing to pay outrageous prices for skate shoes and clothing with too much plastisol ink printed on it.
nothing has changed since then (except the brands, and the fact that no one is willing to pay those prices for that stuff anymore.)
skating, biking, snowboarding and such are most of what falls under as one's "ride" for this shop. (when i think the only one you can realistically ride for a long period of time is a bike.) -

They carry IMKING of course! This store is a must visit if your in Brea. It's right across the street from Brea mall and carries a lot of good brands. Make sure to check out my stuff if you visit this place. I've been shopping here for years prior to having product in here. They usually have a big selection to choose from.
Recommendation: Check out the mens selection of IMKING. -

Cool clothes and a big selection. But one time I went with my husband and he bought a couple hundred dollars worth of clothes. He bought a pair of shoes also and they forgot to put them in our bags. So we drove home, which is not near by, and I called once I realized we did not have the shoes we paid for. I went back the next day to pick them up and the manager gave me the third degree and wouldn't give me the shoes without a receipt! Even thought they were sitting right there behind the counter because whoever I spoke to kept them to the side. She went into their computer system to pull up the receipt which was a big stupid waste of time. I was annoyed to be treated like I was some sort of swindler when I had paid so much money the day before in their store and it was all their mistake. How about putting a note on the shoes right when I left the store with out them or when I called? Poor service!

I don't come to this location to shop at Active anymore. The workers here were really rude and didn't welcome me when i walked in. I heard this same thing happening to a lot of my other friends as well. And i do agree that some of their stuff is just way too overpriced.

I've never bought skateboarding goods here, but I did purchase my snowboard, bindings, and boots at this location back in 2001. The guy who helped me out was really nice and helped me find everything I needed. He also hooked me up with a free shirt, stomp pad and 10% off my entire purchase. It was a wee bit expensive, but comparing it with Chick's Sporting Goods (which is overpriced) it ran a little bit under their asking price for the same board, etc. I also bought a pair of DVS skate shoes here awhile back. It's not too overwhelming and I like that.

Friendly staff. Big selection of brands and styles. They are beyond just a "skate shop", and have really become part of the community.

They have a good selection and what not, but it's nothing special. They have a bunch of overpriced disigner shit, which i don't believe belongs in a skate shop. Too much fashion for the good of skateboarding. The people their can get pretty agitated to. If your going to be in that area you might as well just go to Liberty Boardshop which is a bazillionfozillion times better. Enjoy NOT.
