I love, love, love this class!  I've been taking it for a year and I can honestly say that I haven't been in this good of shape since...uh, high school!!!  Cassandra is not only great with us moms, she loves the kids!  To simply put it, if you want a great all around work out to help get back to your pre-pregnacy shape (probably even better), and meet other moms, try out Cassandra's BBB class.

I will be due with my second in January and I'm still attending class 3x week.  Cassandra is great at modifying my workout.  I am looking forward to the post-natal class come Feb!

I had five personal training sessions with Coach Cassandra, and have nothing but positive things to say.  My husband sought out Cassandra for me after I had a baby.  Yucky post-baby bodies are Cassandra's specialty!  She helped me lose a little weight, and really strengthen my core.  She is sensitive to all the issues new Moms have, and even gave me targeted advice about nutrition.  She gets results without being too tough or overbearing.  Since I had never been to a personal trainer before, I was certainly nervous about starting my sessions, but now I'm so glad I did!  I can't wait to take her post-natal core class, which I am starting next week...

I am so grateful that Coach Cassandra encouraged me to participate in the Active Moms' Club classes following the birth of my daughter this summer. We attended the From the Core postnatal class for six weeks (twice a week) starting when my daughter was just six weeks old.  AMC added a wonderful structure to my maternity leave and really jump started me back into a healthy routine. I enjoyed the experience much more than I could have imagined, and will recommend it to every pregnant woman and new mom I know. Coach Cassandra has great training skills and a fabulous rapport with new moms of all stripes.  Not only did I enjoy the outings to class with my daughter, but I rebuilt my core strength and learned a great deal about all the muscles affected by pregnancy as well as the importance of good form for core strengthening exercises.  AMC provides a wonderful haven for mothers to work on themselves in an unintimidating, warm atmosphere while spending time with their children outside the home.  Now that I'm back to work, I'm looking forward to joining an AMC Saturday class. Thanks again AMC and Coach Cassandra!

Specialties

The Active Moms' Club provides mothers in Chicago with pre- and postnatal fitness classes, one-on-one training, wellness workshops, and other special events. Our group training is unique: it's personalized training in small group settings in neighborhoods convenient to you, and no baby sitter is required. All of our instructors are certified personal trainers and have pre-and postnatal certifications. Our classes are limited in size in order for each mom to get the attention she deserves.

Our programs provide education and tools to help you enjoy a healthy pregnancy and return to or enhance your pre-pregnancy fitness level. Classes provide a community of support, offering the opportunity to network and develop relationships with other new moms and their babies.

Lead by example, a healthy mom has a healthy family.

History

Established in 2007

Cassandra's desire to help people achieve fitness started as a hobby in 2001. Never an athlete in her youth, she began her athletic journey teaching weekly Spin classes, and found it incredibly rewarding. Her appetite to inspire others continued to grow, and in 2002, she received her personal training certification through the American Council of Exercise.

In 2003, she took a leap of faith. Leaving a steady paying job, she set out to pursue her true passion of fitness and established Coach Cassandra, an independent personal training business.

Baby Buggy Bootcamp was born in 2003. At the time, a stroller fitness class was unique to Chicago. Working with mothers in a supportive group environment has proven to be successful and very rewarding. It also heightened her awareness for the need of quality fitness programs, specifically strength and conditioning classes for pre and postnatal mothers. As a result, the Active Moms' Club was founded in 2007.

Meet the Business Owner: Cassandra H.

Cassandra is American Council on Exercise certified personal trainer since 2002 and a pre- and post-natal fitness instructor since 2003. In addition to teaching classes and expanding the Active Moms' Club, Cassandra thoroughly enjoys participating in endurance events.

Cassandra and her equally athletic husband enjoy training together, (their first date was a 50-mile bike ride) and look forward to adding little athletes to their family soon.
