I have been going to Dr. Swistak for many months. He uses a holistic way of assessing one's medical concerns. It is not a one therapy fits all. Although I've only been a patient for several months, I have known Dr. Swistak for 8 years as he has been a speaker for my organization. It is a pleasure to know Dr. Swistak for this long, but also know that his therapy has been very helpful to me.
Specialties
Active Family Chiropractic specializes in treating chronic and acute pain using a combination of chiropractic, acupuncture and massage therapy. We are a family practice that serves children, adults and seniors. Our sub-specialties include the care of expectant mothers during pregnancy, the rehabilitation of athletes following a sports injury and the restoration of proper alignment and function for those suffering whiplash or otherwise injured in an auto accident.
Chiropractic care is provided by Dr. Greg Swistak. You may know him from his many talks at community health fairs and at local employers. Our massage therapist is Kendra Blatzheim who specializes in deep tissue massage, fascial release techniques and lymph drainage. Our board certified acupuncturist, Wei Zhao, is a Chinese physician having practiced acupuncture and herbal Chinese medicine in Shanghai.
Together we recommend the combination of therapies that produce the best results for the patient.
Meet the Business Owner: Greg S.
Dr. Greg Swistak graduated from the Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1997. He is the founder of Active Family Chiropractic in Gaithersburg Maryland and serves as its chief chiropractor. Dr. Swistak believes that patient education about biomechanics, nutrition and other wellness topics is an essential component of care. He is a well know lecturer on alternative and complementary medicine having presented at many DC-area employers including NASA.
Dr. Greg Swistak is an expert in the field of bio-mechanics. He is currently a member of the Maryland Chiropractic Association, the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association and a Fellow of the American Medical Acupuncture Society.
