First time Segway-ing.  Dave was a great guide, and very patient with the group.  He took us around the oldtown of Big Bear.  There were some interesting sights to see, and you just felt so cool cruising down Big Bear Blvd on your sweet Segway, stopping traffic.

Price was spendy though! look for the groupon for a B1G1 free. Hopefully they do the deal again.

Are you bored? Tired? Fed up? Need a break? Need a REALLY GOOD BREAK? I know how you feel. Good news! I have a suggestion: Zipline with these guys!!! I mean it!!!

Sure they promise a 3-hour tour, and a little over 1 of those hours consist of a training video, car rides, and waiting back at the office as you look at pictures (which is why this isn't a 5-star rating), but it's so much fun you won't even care. (There's also a great burger joint down the street called Get that Burger... so GET IT.)

There was a shuttle ride. And then I think they're humvees---WHAAA? that took us to the ziplines: it was like a version of the Indiana Jones ride with the promise of flying afterwards. In my opinion, that's DOPE.

The tour guides we had today were pretty rambunctious (a.k.a. fun[ny]). I never really ever felt unsafe except for the part where I jumped off of the steel platforms with nothing but ribbon around my butt and a line that screamed as I zipped to the next point. They strap you in, tell you when it's safe to go, when to "brake"; they'll even risk sustaining kicks to their faces--not that it happened, but I'm pretty sure that the possibility's there, after my experience today. Anywho, my point is, the tour guides were great--one of them even boxed a kangaroo in Tijuana once. Just saying. F.U.N. And a little nuts.

Back at the office, I believe it was Susanne/Susanna who was working the front desk when it suddenly got pretty busy. She seemed a little overwhelmed as I was waiting to ask to get a photo printed, but she provided great customer service and was able to manage on her own with flying colors (and even a smile at the end. Grade A customer service).

The only thing is that photos cost a LOT of money... I can't believe to this hour that I paid 5 dollars for a stupid jpeg burned onto an entire disc--ONE MEASLY PHOTO... If I didn't need visual proof that I scratched an item off my bucket list I'd have foregone the purchase. I think there needs to be a revision in the policy about cameras on the lines, but other than that...

Thanks for a great time Action Zipline! I plan on coming back PLUS checking out the Segway tours in the near future!

I had never been zip-lining before so my wife had gotten us a coupon for these guys and I have to say it was awesome.   Everyone was super nice and they were very professional about all the first timers out there.
The views are epic, the runs were awesome.... the whole afternoon was a blast.  I would do this again in a heartbeat with these guys.   When we got back they showed us all the pictures they took and we bought a bunch after they gave us a discount!  Awesome!
When you go, just make sure that its when there is some snow on the ground!  and if that's the case bring a jacket...

Bought a deal on groupon for Action and finally had time to make the drive up to Big Bear.  The staff was very courteous from the office to the guides.  Make sure you get there at least 10-20 minutes prior to your reservation so that you can fill out the waivers.  They have lockers that's a pretty good size to store all of your phones, camera, wallets, purses or anything that you don't want to loose while ziplining.  The distance from the office to the zipline is about 15-20 minutes.  So if you need to catch up on some z's, now is a good time to do so.  After disembarking the shuttle, you will be transfered to another vehicle that will take you up to get geared up.  Prior to leaving for your first run, there's a photographer that will take a picture of you and he will be doing this throughout the trip.  The pictures will be available for sale afterwards for about $45 or so.
Throughout the entire experience, the guides were very professional and made sure that safety was number one.  There are about 9 lines and the 2nd to the last one is the longest of them all.  All in all, had a great first time ziplining.

I have zip-lined in the past and have NEVER been told I cannot take my phone or camera with me. They prohibit you from taking these items and even threaten to end your zip-line tour if they catch you with a camera or phone. They say they have their own photographer but they fail to tell you before the tour that a CD of photos will cost $45!!! and if you only want a few photos they charge $5 per photo on a CD - they don't even print the photo for that charge!

When I zip-lined in the past we took amazing photos and video from the zip-line. You get none of those from a photographer on the ground.

Came to Big Bear last week to use my Groupon vouchers. Got a really good deal, bought 2 for $94. Overall, I had so much fun! Felt like the flying pig on the tv commercial! I've ziplined once before, but there was only one course. This one had many courses (i forgot how many). My favorite was the Big Daddy zip line (this one is the longest one runs about 800 feet).

There was a lot of snow when we went, so don't forget to bundle up! The staff were very friendly and helpful. However, the one thing I didn't like was we weren't allowed to bring our phones or cameras to take pics or video! They did have a photographer taking pictures during the tour. There were a few that I liked, but I didn't feel like spending $5 per photo on a cd.

Overall, I would come again to zipline on a much warmer day.

I wasn't as fortunate as the rest of my friends who took advantage of booking a reservations with the Groupon rate ($35). I did paid full price ($95) but I don't regret it. There are only a few opportunities you can get to zipline to get out of the typical norm of the 8-5 work week.

The staff were friendly and were enjoyable to talk the entire tour down. There were 9 runs. The last two runs were definitely the winners (860 feet and 720 feet runs). We went ziplining as a whole group (approximately 13 people, 5 were our own) and everyone was very enjoyable to be around. Pretty chill and joked around with the staff the entire time.

The guides definitely were doing tricks (upside-down, twists and turns). Enjoy the guides making the suspension bridge interesting for everyone cross in git.

As for the zipline, glad we got to do some twists. The interesting twist with this hipline is learning how to break with the hand gloves and the zipline. Most zipline tours would have their safety bungee and you would not have to worry about breaking/slowing down.

We chose to get the photo cd which cost $45 since we were a group of 5 and most of the photos were from our group.

I definitely had fun and want to do this again. Recommend anyone to give this a try.

10.23.11 What an awesome trip , the front desk guy, the tour guides and even the drivers were friendly n cool.

Big Bear is Big Bear, do not expect views such as Costa Rica or Hawaii. Overall although there wasn't a view the experience was awesome. Be brave and do some tricks , pose because the camera is snapping. I think the best time to go is when it snows just wear warm and comfortable clothes.

The guides will do some tricks, one guy kept on getting stuck when he's upside down, it was pretty funny considering they are professionals. So that is their number one rule also no upside down only they can do that...

    Trust me its a blast..

Let loose have fun and most of all Trust your Gear!

Best experience of a life time and I will continue zip lining everywhere I can. It was the highlight of my Big Bear trip. Thanks to Groupon, we didn't have to spend too much on this.

The guys on the tour were awesome. Friendly, funny, informative, and helpful. In the cold AM sunny weather, it was a perfect outing for the family. The photographer got great shots of us and it was worth the $45 for the CD. Don't forget to tip, we were the only group who did.

    Thanks for the memories. Cheers.

Thanks to Groupon, I was able to try this fun activity. At first I was scared to zipline, but once I got to the actual place, I wasn't as scared. The employees were all nice and helpful. They were friendly and would motivate you at each line. I was practically scared to jump at each line, but they made me feel super safe. I would definitely come back again. Thank you Action zipline. My husband and I each bought a Groupon and went with 2 friends. Totally worth the $45/each. Our schedules didn't work out for us to go until December, so it was super cold, but still really fun. We got really lucky: our tour only had 6 people total! The tour before us had 15 people or so. The other couple that came with us and our friends were super nice.

They take you up to the zip line in one of their vans and it was a little longer of a drive than I was expecting, but not bad. Then once we got close they transferred us into these sweet old army vehicles and took us up the mountain a little further. It was way fun.

The guides were very nice and fun. Despite the cold they kept us entertained. The only bummer was that we weren't allowed to take pics on the tour, but thinking back to the last zip line tour I did we didn't get good pics when we took them ourselves. The pics that our photographer guy took were really good and from better angles than we could have gotten. This way we could just focus on having fun rather than trying to get good pics.

I read in an earlier review that the CD was $60, but when we went they had lowered the price to $45. $45 is still steep for our small budget especially after paying that much each for us to go on the zip line. Luckily our friends and the other couple wanted the CD too so we all pitched in to get it together. Totally worth it!

Overall we had a great experience and photos to prove it. The staff members were very nice. I would definitely recommend this place. They also do Segway tours and we totally want to do it now because of our great experience with the zip line tour.

Came here with 6 of my friends and we all had a Groupon with was under $50..We had a great time! the guys who took us down the lines were awesome.. I would definitely do it again, but not sure if I would pay full price.. Time flew by fast and before we knew it, we were done with the 12 lines!  It was nice being up there in the mountains and the view was great..We had the 8am appointment and it was still cold, but after a couple lines, we easily warmed up.

Our group of 8, celebrating our 50th birthdays, approched the adventure with a bit of fear. Once we got going we realized safety is not an issue on this adventure.  Our guides were attentive and fun.  we were always hooked to something.  the day before had dumped 5 inches of snow so the view was spectacular.  it was chilly but there was enough action to keep my blood pumping.
I will be doing this again.
the jeeps were a bit stinky so if you're prone to gas fume triggered migraines bring a pill.

well worth the price, great value.

This place was great! With 9 runs of ziplining, the time will fly by. I just came here with my fiance and my brother yesterday afternoon for the 11 am tour (you can choose from 8 am, 11 am or 2 pm). There is a maximum limit of 18 people per tour.

When you first arrive, you check in with the person at the front desk & sign a waiver (unless you ask for it to be sent to you via email to fill out before hand, but honestly, it's a fairly short form so you can just do it there). You watch a quick safety video (maybe 5- 8 minutes) to explain some basic rules. Then at the end, the guy on the video tells you that the tour guides work for tips (yea real subtle hint, lol). As mentioned by several previous yelpers, we gave $10 per person in our party as tip. Generally, the tour guides are really nice and we all felt they earned their tips. You have the option to store your stuff in a free provided locker (which reminds me, they say no cameras, but I snuck my camera phone in a pocket that has a zipper so that my phone would not fall out and I took photos, yea I'm a total rebel, lol)

After we waited for the vans to come pick up all the people for the 11 am tour (we had a total of 15 in our tour), we were on our way to the zip line site. Once we arrived, everyone got out of the vans and piled into a pinzgauer. A few fellow yelpers had written about covering your nose when you get in, but I swear I didn't know why until I got in. It had a crazy strong smell of gasoline. But if you sit towards the front, the smell is not as strong as sitting in the back... but still, you can't avoid the smell.

Then the drive will take you to the bottom of the zip line course so that you can use a non port-a-potty toilet (that has running water, soap, toilet paper and paper seat covers, in case you were wondering) for you to use before the actual zip lining because you won't be able to use the restroom again for another 1.5 hours... so you should go, even if you don't have to.

Then everyone gets back into the pinzgauer & heads to the top to get their gear & a quick lesson on how get into your harness, helmet & gloves. A guy with a camera will then take photos of everyone. After that, you meet the rest of the tour guides. They are all very friendly & easily approachable (all pretty young guys, I would say probably in the early to mid 20's... and maybe one guy in his late 20's to early 30's... and they are all pretty good looking too) and they teach you how to break, steer, etc. Then you go on your first run. The 1st 2 runs are the shortest and then get longer as you progress.

It's really awesome to watch the tour guides zip down the lines and do their crazy tricks. One of the tour guides, guy named Seth, said it didn't take them long to start doing tricks. And they make it look so effortless.

After that short 1.5 hour that passes by, you get back into the pinzgauer and ride down to the vans. Then take the vans back to the office. Here you can pick up your stuff in the locker and then leave. Or you can stay and watch the photos the photographer took and purchase the ones you want for $5 each (not including tax) or buy a CD with all the photos on them for $45 (Again, not including tax... and yes it's ALL the photos the photographer took... so now you'll have a bunch of photos of random strangers... but it would be the cheaper option if you want more than 9 photos... and if you are already purchasing 9 photos, you might as well buy the CD to get the rest of the photos of you and your party).

Now my additional comments: I know there may be some people who are afraid of falling... but honestly, they are very safe in what they do and when you jump off the 1st platform, you don't even feel that drop around your stomach of that feeling of falling because the tension of the cable that is holding you up is very strong and not loose. So you won't feel that drop, believe me. I've zip lined at another place before and they had a loose cable... that gave me that scary feeling around my stomach. You won't feel that here.

Also you should check the weather before you come because they have canceled tours due to bad weather and they will not refund your money, but just reschedule another tour. When we went, the weather report on line said 10% chance of rain... well it did rain... but it was just for a short time and so we were off zip lining.

If you have long hair, don't forget to bring something to tie your hair back. And also please don't forget the SPF because you wouldn't want to get skin cancer or get sun burned.

Lastly, don't forget to bring cash because the tour guides "work for tips"... it's so important, that Action Zipline Tours had to tell you in the intro/ safety video. And while we were up there, they had their little tip container and a tour guide, with a nick name "reaper" (honestly, that was his nick name... and he's pretty young) even said they "work for tips", lol... so yea I guess you should tip them.

Oh & I would come back.

For me and my family, summer not only brings an unquenchable thirst for water.  We long for adventure.  Let me tell you there's no better escapade to bring kin together than on a zipline adventure, where you'll be gliding at 40 mph hundreds of feet above Big Bear's breathtaking sylvan playground.

Action Zipline even warms you up with an adventurous venture on the
way to your adventure.  You are prepped for excitement when you step into their safari vehicle and take an off-road expedition to your zipline action.  Add a bear instead of a lion, a mountain goat instead of a wildebeest, and Action Zipline would have themselves a safari a-la Big Bear.

A big safety tip for the ladies: be sure you can tell the difference between when you're actually gliding on the zipline versus floating on Cloud 9 as you dreamily gaze after your daring, hilarious, and attractive tour guides.

If you are a first timer like I was, your first instinct on the first two ziplines will be to hold on for dear life like a cat clinging to a tree to escape that ravenous Chihuahua.  Then you realize your potential to become a flying squirrel in the forest, and it excites you so much that you start spinning mid-flight or let go of the wire shouting LOOK MA, NO HANDS!!!!

With the help of friendly expertise, Action Zipline provides a breathtaking experience that literally gives you another way to view the natural world around you.  When you're not ziplining, you find yourself soaking in every second of the terrestrial serentiy around you.  Also, if you're like me, you might start a guilt-trip about all those bottles you never recycled.

Unfortunately, I did not get to experience the "Action," although, not for lack of trying. I've stayed at Big Bear twice in the last year, for a total of 6 days, and not once has Action Zipline Tours been able to accommodate me.

Last year, I made a reservation with them a couple months in advance in anticipation of my vacation to big bear. I got a phone call once I had already arrived where they told me that the other couple had cancelled their tour, so they had to cancel mine. Apparently they are very strict about their 4 person minimum for the tour. They told me to come back the next day.

This time, when I arrived at the office, they said that a news van had gotten stuck in the road up to the start location, so they had to postpone again.

The next day I came back, despite telling them that I was only here for 4 days and that they had cancelled my trip twice already, they said that due to the 4 person minimum, they wouldn't have any trips.

Then, just this week, I took another vacation to big bear, hoping that I would be able to go on the zipline tour. I called them 3 weeks ago to reserve the tour. They told me that they didn't have 4 people going during my 3 day stay, but that they would call me if anyone else was going.  Turns out, once I got to big bear. The first day of my vacation had actually sold out and they hadn't called me. I called again and left my number. I called back the next day, had to leave my number again because they didn't know who I was. I called the next day, and found out another group was trying to go, but they sent them away too because of the 4 person minimum.

If you are going to be super strict about your minimum,  you have to have a better system for grouping people together. I called a number of times, and there were clearly times that I could have gotten in, but due to their inability to keep the groups organized, I didn't get to go at all.

I'm a little upset. It sounded cool.

Going ziplining here was probably one of the highlights of my summer! I couldn't have picked a better place to experience my first time ziplining.

    Pros
    - tour guides were helpful and informative, not to mention hilarious
    - tour started on time, no delay whatsoever
    - had a photographer on site that took pics of everyone ziplining
    - riding the jeep up the mountain was fun :)
    - office staff was nice. our tour was overbooked, so 4 of us had to drive up the mountain, and in return, they gave us 2 CD's with all the pics.. FOR FREE :D (it usually costs $45 for the CD) --woohoo!

    Cons
    - i was extremely dehydrated up there, but i don't think we were allowed to bring anything with us. they should have some water stations of something.

Would definitely come back again, but during the winter, for a change of scenery :)

Action Zipline has added a segway adventure. We went yesterday with Dave as our tour guide and had a fabulous time. Never having been on  seqways before, Dave patiently taught us the safety tips and ins and outs of riding a segway that we needed before leaving the parking lot.  Within 15 minutes, we felt like pros. Dave led us through the Big Bear community, pointing out interesting tidbits about the area. We loved our 2 hour segway tour and will definitely be sharing our story with friends. We highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the Big Bear area.

Thanks Action Zipline Tours for a great time this weekend! My friends and I all bought the groupon a few months back for $45 and we all went together as a giant group of 13 people. Action Zipline was able to accommodate all of us and they were all very friends. All the staff members were very nice and supportive and the guys who are the tour guides are great and helpful. We did 9 runs total and all were pretty awesome, they even gave us pointers on how to do different tricks. You can see the great chemistry between all the tour guides and how they help everyone. Just a few pointers if you're thinking about going:
-make sure you wear shorts that are not too short, but near the knees or the harness might rub up against your leg.
-wear sunscreen you're going to need it in the hot sun
-get there on time, the drivers are very strict about timing because they have tours going every 3 hours

I had a really great time overall! It was fun to have a big group. I had never zip-lined before in my life but I'm definitely an action junkie ahaha. The tour guides walk you through every step and show you up to put on the harnesses, and you even get to try out a bunny slope in the beginning. It was a blast and I would do it again!

I came here for the groupon deal. I had an awesome time with my friends, and the tour guides were super friendly and fun. There are a total of 9 lines, and it was quick and fun (assuming no one messes up).

My friends and I bought the package deal for the photos and video, which I believe was $72. It is a great deal and worth it if you came with a big group or willing to split the cost with the people in your ziplining group. The photos are high quality and worth it but not the video. I wish they taught us how to use the video beforehand or to remind us to angle the video in a certain way. The majority of our video was all sky.

Be sure to bring money for tip. There's a tipping jar at the middle and at the end of the ziplinning runs. These guys deserve it since they have to pull our heavy weight whenever we got stuck or stop too quickly, and getting knocked over by us if we didnt stop at the right time or quickly enough.

I went here wednesday. This was a new experience for me. ok...

it's better to book your reservation online or over the phone. They have an 8am, 11am, and 2pm slot... My husband and I went on the 2pm. You can either sign a form there, or print it out and bring it to there office. and I think you can get a deal when it's 10 people in your group.

I give it 5 stars for the workers. The office lady was great, and the tour guides where great and fun. I do get scared of heights and feel claustrophobic when things get tight. They have to strap a harness on you, and you have to wear a helmet... so I felt a bit nervous. However, they talked me through it, and helped me breath, and by the end of it, I have a great time. I started off with a death grip, and ended up enjoying the experience. I also have to thank them for spinning me...

So you zipline through about several times. The first two are short, but then the others are a little longer.

The pictures are $5 a picture. you can either have them print them out, or put it on a CD for you. The Deal that they have is a whole cd for $45. so if you go in a group... you get all the pictures for $45.

This is a nice tour for anyone but especially beginners. The people are nice and the tour guides make it fun but doing stunts while they go through the zip line. Customers are not allowed to do that though. The price is crazy but I had a groupon so it wasn't bad with that. But these kind of things are always overpriced. Their zip lines are sort of short but they are still fun. You also get to learn how to brake with your hand on the line. The one thing they are jerks about is the photos. They have a pro photographer so you are not allowed to take photos at all. They said they will kick you out if you do. Probably not at first offence but still that's only one photo you will take before it's over. They take one photo before everyone sets out for the tour. You can take it with the person you went with. It's just a stand still on a porch thing. That ONE photo you can buy for $5! That's ridiculous. Then if you actually want some memories of the ziplining, you must pay about $45 to buy the cd on which you will have everyone's photo and you can pick out your own from it. I think this is the worst rip off I've even seen. They are selfish and money hungry on this one.
So please, owner of this place, get rid of this ridiculous rule of no cameras. People are not all rich but they want some memories for free. The price of the tour itself is crazy enough.

I got an excellent Groupon deal for $45/pp so I took my hubby here for his birthday

This is a great Zipline spot for being local (Yes, I know there are some really awesome zipline spots throughout the world, but this place is only an hour from my house)

Its great to go in groups when the group has a good attitude.  If you are not much of a people person and have issues with heights, go during the middle of the week when crowds are smaller and you can take your sweet time freaking out about the heights issue

Here are a couple of tips when you go:
    * Tipping - yes you should tip the guides and the drivers (unless drivers completely got you car sick)
    * Groups - if you can gather a group of fun peeps, the better the experience
    * Clothing - wear comfortable clothing.  By the end of the day, you will get saddle sores and a good weggie if you wear restricting clothing.  Guys - watch out for your package. It can get uncomfortable so make sure you adjust your harnesses properly
    * Gear - they provide helmets, gloves and harnesses.  If you are a germ-a-phobe, bring your own helmet and heavy duty gloves or bring a whole bunch of antibacterial stuff

Good times.  I went during the spring but would like to go in the winter

Overall, our experience at Action Zipline tours was less than stellar.  Here's why:

    1.  When we called to make our reservation for a particular Saturday, we were informed that the only timeslots they had remaining for their Groupon customers were at 8am, meaning that the later tours were not an option for us.  This is not the first time a company has openly treated me like a second-class customer for using a Groupon.  Come on, people.  Unless the Groupon states otherwise, Groupon customers should be treated just like everyone else.  Don't you know we're going to Yelp about it?

    2.  The office staff seemed aloof.  If I'm going to put my life in your hands hanging 50+ feet above the ground, I'd at least like you to make eye contact with me before that happens.

    3.  The ziplining experience was only so-so.  Ziplining was fun and the mountain views were pretty.  But the ground below was cluttered by roads and small manufactured buildings.  If I had to guess, I bet that doing a tour when there's snow on the ground would bring more attractive views and scenery.

    4.  You're not allowed to bring your camera, but the process of purchasing photos is not very well-organized.  When we got back to the office after the tour, none of the employees seemed to notice that our entire group was just standing around waiting for someone to give instructions on how to buy photos.  After 10 minutes my boyfriend finally asked the person at the desk.  Unless you're going to pay $60 for a CD with every single photo of your tour group, you have to stand at the computer while the person scrolls through 100s of randomly sorted photos and pick out the ones you want.  It would be much more efficient if they posted them online so people could take the time to find the really good ones before paying $20 for 3 photos.

On the upside, It was obvious that the guides were very careful about our safety.  At all times, each zipliner was securely attached to a steel tether or on the zipline, so there was virtually no chance of falling.  The guides were also very encouraging and sensitive to the fact that some people are nervous about being so high off the ground.  Probably the most dangerous part of the experience was riding up the side of the mountain in Pinzgauers.  I know these vehicles are supposed to be super well-equipped for all types of terrain and therefore safe--and they are definitely fun to ride in--but there were no functional seat belts for the passengers.

Unlike Taryn Y, we didn't receive any confirmation emails or phone  calls.  So I guess that's something they're not terribly consistent about.

As a side note, be sure to bring plenty of cash when you do the tour so that you can tip your tour guides as well as the driver who takes everyone out to the ziplining site.  Most people in our group didn't realize they needed to tip the driver and left all their cash with the tour guides, which was very sad for the driver.

Got half off through a groupon deal.

    Pros:
-Office was easy to find. Parking available behind office.
-Safety was a huge priority on the mountain.
    - 9 different zip lines with different emphasis (speed, length, not needing to brake, etc)
-Riding in the Pinzgauer was awesome.
-Clean, non port-a-potty bathrooms in the mountain with running water.

    Cons:
-The vans that take you to the mountain were 25 min late.
-No cameras allowed and the camera man they had did not know how to use a camera. A good half of the pictures were missing and the ones that were available were blurry. He was using a Canon DSLR with a 70-200 F4L. No excuse for not taking good pictures.
-They wanted tips for both the drivers AND the tour guides.

Overall I was satisfied at the price I paid.

Make sure that you make reservations at least a month in advance to get the time you want! My friend and I got a Groupon and it was such a good deal at half off! There are cute, friendly guys that help you go through the 12 or so courses. I thought that Zip Lining was basically all done for you but you actually have to have a little technique with how you press your hand on the line to stop. It's def fun to say that you've done it once!

My first Zip Line experience. It was exciting and fun! You must arrive on time at the latest!...LOL (Seriously)

The office employees were nice. The guides were cool! They showed us how to do a few tricks with their upside down kicks, spins, and all sort of wild things they could do. Few of us attempted the wild stunts these pros did.(showoffs)

Theres a photographer on site so plan to leave your camera behind.  You buy at the end.   I would definitely do this again.

We had a great time and this was a lot of fun. Their design is really cool how you work your way down a hill from tower to tower. The staff is great and the guides are excellent.

Now, to the reason they did not get 5 stars. I was approached very aggressively by a rude woman who tried to grab my camera. She did not introduce herself, explain anything but simply said "I'll take that" as she came out from behind an umbrella and reached for my camera. I did not know who she was and said no.

I gather now that she was the owner and dies not want you to take your camera so that you will buy your photos from them. I thought she was just a crazy person. That's fine, just make it clear during the brifing and explain yourself. DO NOT TRY TO GRAB SOEMTHING FROM YOUR CUSTOMER. IT WAS EXTREMELY RUDE AND NEARLY RUINED OUR TRIP.

The people in the operation are great except the owner. Just be aware of this camera issue.

Just wanted to say THANK YOU to Action Zipline for making my Birthday yesterday awesome!

From start to finish, we had a great time! This was me first Zipline experience and will not be my last. :-)

Everyone from the the lady at the front desk to the tour guides were fantastic!! I was very please that they take such good care of everyone to make sure that they have a fun and SAFE day. A couple people in our group we obviously nervous and they took their time in helping them get comfortable (never acting pushy or annoyed) until THEY were ready to give it a shot...and once they did, they were able to enjoy it with the rest of the group. I think there was like 15-16 of us in the tour group and it was a blast meeting and "hanging out" with such a fun and diverse group!!

We ended up buying the full photo for $45 and it was well worth it! We have a ton of great shots of us!!

A big THANK YOU again to the staff for helping make my birthday so much fun!!!

Total blast!! We went on Sunday at 8am.  The guides were great bunch of dudes very helpful and informative, they mixed just the right sense of playfulness and professionalism.  You are extremely safe up on the towers they have you hooked in at all times.

I do have a couple complaints and they have nothing to do with the actual tour.

I got the Groupon deal and talked 7 other friends into getting it with me but when I called to book it a couple weeks in advance on a time that we could all go they said they only had 6 spots available and without exception they could not add 2 more people because of safety issues... ok... that is understandable.

So we had to split up and 4 of us went on this occasion. Well when we got there there was 18 PEOPLE on our tour!!  I was really ticked about that because it would have been a lot of fun with all 8 of us and we had been looking forward to that for a while... anyway moving on.

With the grouponI paid $45 which was great... had I not got it it would have been $95... Ok well if I paid 95 dollars I would expect that I could take some pictures, but everyone was told to leave their cameras and cell phones at the place... which I have no problem with I know that that would be big safety risk if everyone was up there with their cameras trying to snap pictures.... Well to solve that they had a guy on the ground who takes pictures for the group.  I though this was a great Idea because he had a nice camera with a nice lens.  And after paying 95 dollars I would assume that these pictures would be included...so I asked and they said they were not.  Ok I know this is a business and they need to make money...

so how much could a CD with 200 pictures taken by an amateur photographer cost... well since CD cost a couple pennies I figured I would pay $20 bucks and get a nice CD with all the pictures of the day.  This is where I was wrong.... One pictures was $10....ONE... 3 for $20.... and if I wanted the picture CD it was SIXTY $60 DOLLARS!!!  Are you kidding me that is a total scam... you can't take you camera but we will take pictures for you... and charge you an arm and a leg.  Luckly we were talking with another couple of people in the van ride back and turns out they lived really close to us so we had 6 people split the cost of the CD so it was $10 a person. I highly suggest doing this and the pictures really did turn out great.

Also the office staff was cold and unfriendly and didn't really want to talk with any of us.

The ziplines were a total BLAST and the tour guides were awesome which is why I give this 4 stars but just beware of the picture scam

Our group of 7 enjoyed this activity thoroughly. The crew that were guiding us through were a lot of fun. Wish we knew about Groupon deals beforehand, so we wouldn't have paid the full price of $95/person. We still had so much fun nonetheless.

It was so much fun!!  Had a great time, and the empolyees made it that much better - fun and exciting.  Not sure why someone wrote that they didn't now they couldn't bring a phone or camera, because there is a 5 minute video where this is told before you go... plus they provide lockers to lock them up while you're out.

This was my wife's and my first Zipline experience. We brought up a couple other family members and made an afternoon of it. The folks were great from the start. The guides were knowledgeable and friendly.
I definitely would recommend the Action Zipline Tours in Big Bear.

Great Zipline. Tour guides are helpful, friendly and make you feel very safe (Abe). You are not allowed to take your own camera but they have a photographer at every line that takes great pics. Am planning on going back to do the off road segway (sp?) tour that i hear  is  also lots of fun

Lesson 1: Call in advance to make reservations. Weekends are usually packed.
Lesson 2: Don't wear FLIP FLOPS.
    Lesson 3: Laugh.

Bought this deal on Groupon with a friend. Weekends were packed for the next month or so, so I asked for availability for July 4th. Deborah let us know that there was one spot available. Darn. I put my name on the waiting list and Deb suggested to call back daily to see if anybody dropped.

My friend and I headed up in hopes of being able to zip line. They gave me a call about 15 minutes before & some spots opened up! We had a great great time! Our guides were super friendly, fun, and definitely made the trip worth it!

We used groupons so the cost was $45/person plus tip, very reasonable. We felt safe an that the operation was professional, even though the guides were messing around with each other and pulling pranks. It was fun and exciting but maybe not as intense as I had expected; the lines are fairly low to the ground and the speeds moderate. Bring a facemask for the dusty ATV ride!

My husband and took our two sons this weekend. This was a very expensive outing for our family ($420 after we paid the RECOMMEND tips)
All of the staff were very nice.
HOWEVER, we were told NO CAMERAS OR PHONES! We made the mistake of FOLLOWING THE RULES! Once at the site everyone else in the group had either a camera or a phone and were taking pictures and video. No staff stopped them. If it is not an issue than it should be allowed for everyone. We were forced to pay the VERY EXPENSIVE cost of the pictures by the company to have any memory of the adventure.
If no cameras or phones is your policy, than that policy should be up held for everyone.
