Review from Emi N.

My Mom's boyfriend used Action Auto Glass and highly recommended Sean after my Toyota 4Runner had been broken in to over the weekend. I called around to a few other places, too, but Sean's quote was WAY less than everywhere else and he was willing to do the repair that same day! At no extra charge he came to my office and fixed my window in under 30 minutes. It had just started raining so it really couldn't have been better timing. He also checked all of the other windows to make sure they were in good condition - something I didn't even ask him to do. Overall Sean was very professional and polite and I would recommend him to anyone in need of glass repair in a heartbeat. Thanks again, Sean!
P.S. I don't think that the hours of operation are accurate because I had my repair done on a Tuesday. -

My first review was flagged, apparently because it didn't have enough detail and 'first hand experience'.
My first hand experience with Action Auto Glass
- Our car was broken into. We needed the glass fixed.
- I called around.
- I spoke to Sean. He was cranky.
- I got a quote from Action auto glass - it was significantly more expensive than In And Out in HP, which we did go to and did use and did find cheaper and friendlier.
So that is who I would recommend.

Another 5 stars for Sean, for fixing my husband's windshield after a rock hit it (damn rocks!!!) on the freeway and cracked it. Sean did a great job fixing the window on my Honda CRX last year. When my hubby had his incident, I was hoping he could get it fixed somehow through safelite (with glue?? i dunno) and not have to replace the whole windshield, but they said they have to replace the windshield if the crack is bigger than a dollar bill. It was : (. Their quote was $279. Even though our insurance company uses them, we have a $500-per-incident deductible.
Enter Sean to the rescue... he quoted us just $239!
If he took the car to Safelite, not only would my husband have to pay $40 more (plus tax, I'm assuming), but he'd also have to kill an hour or so before work while he waits for them to fix the damage. And there's not a whole lot to do around Safelite. He's a little too old to go across the street and play in the McDonalds kiddie playground.
With Sean, he can sit in the cushy comfort of his living room in front of his nice TV while Sean fixes it in our driveway! In just an hour or so! It may be hot outside so we'll definitely be hooking him up with his beverage of choice : )
Sean can fix all kinds of auto glass repair problems, and although he is in San Francisco I believe he can travel all over the Bay Area. We are located in Redwood City and when he fixed my Honda he came all the way down to Palo Alto to my workplace to do it.
Sean is very accomodating but because i am anal retentive about conserving fuel and resources I asked him if there was a particular day that might be easy for him to come do the work. Say, if he has another job on Thursday to do in Redwood City - then we wouldn't mind him doing it then so he can do two jobs in one trip. I figure as long as we aren't in a huge rush and have a flexible schedule, it can't hurt to just throw this out there, especially cause he's saving us a lot of time and money. He said it's not necessary to do this but I like to ask anyway : )
For anyone living on the Peninsula, San Francisco or Bay Area, looking for auto glass repair, I would highly recommend Sean. He will come to YOU!
YOU ROCK, Sean, thanks so much for the great deal and fast service!!!Listed in: TAKE YOUR CAR HERE, You won't…

Sean at Action Glass is now the only technician I'll call for windshield replacement or auto glass and window repair. I called six or seven shops (including one referred to me by a friend), but Sean was the only one out of all of them who had the following:
1. Was professional on the phone and the only one who called me back when he said he would
2. Was more experienced than the rest (15 or 17 years experience)
3. Was just over $100 less than the next lowest quote
4. Was willing to pick-up and deliver a very specific OEM windshield from Audi Royal Motors
5. Was timely and convenient to my schedule; stayed until 7:30 p.m.
6. Was happy to do some follow-up work for free after I got the necessary parts
Essentially, Sean was very honest and a pleasure to work with, and provided me with a three different options from which to have my windshield replaced; I am notoriously picky when it comes to my car!
He also replaced my driver's side regulator (electric window motor) during the same appointment when he replaced my windshield.
Finally, the staff at the shop on 3rd Street is very friendly: I was asked twice if I wanted coffee, tea or water. The shop is directly in front of MUNI'S T-THIRD Marin Street station with a very nice Starbuck's at Evans just one stop away.
A great job with great service at a great price! -

I'm 50/50 on this one.
PROS: Sean was able to take my appointment, find the glass and price match a local CL competitor all in the same day. Was there on time and quick to fix the passenger door glass. Has his own shop vac, power, etc.. Didn't need me to run an extension cord down to the car stall at my apartment. Very informative (I'm a gear head myself) and takes the time to explain things to you.
CONS: I dont know if he was in a rush or what, but I told him specifically that my neighbor has little kids and that he should clean up the broken pieces of glass in the stall adjacent to the passenger door. I spent an additional 20 minutes sweeping up and finding all the little specs of broken glass in our stalls after he left. I should have taken a picture, there was more than acceptable. He ended up sweeping most of them up against a support pole which basically to me is lazy. There's no way I (myself) would leave that amount of broken glass on the ground - if someone cuts themself who is to blame?
Also - the window switch from the driver door would no longer control the pass window. I am going to take the time to take the door panel apart and find out what is wrong with that. The break in was a smash and grab, and I dont see how that would affect the opposite door switch.... it was working before.
Am I happy with the job? Yes, price and considering how quick we needed it fixed he got the job done.
Am I happy with the quality of work? Sort of. Seemed like he was in a hurry.
Am I happy with the cleanliness of the work? Yes on the service. NO on the cleanup.
Sorry buddy - take a few extra minutes to clean up your work area and this would have EASILY been a 5 star review. -

When Sean actually shows up he does decent work. The problem is showing up is apparently rare.
The Story:
I asked him to replace the windshield and redo the two vent windows on my car. He replaced a windshield on my car and did a fine job. He did not have the proper materials on that day to do the vents so I made another appointment with him for a few days later.
He told me it would be an easy job and take less than an hour. After appointment time came and went I called him. At which point he told me that he had forgotten the materials again and he would have to reschedule. Mind you this is only after I called him.
He swore that he would be there any time I wanted to do the work. So I made my third appointment later in the week. I was very clear with him that I had a widow of only about 2 hours, then I had to leave for a meeting. No problem he told me.
Once again the appointment time came and went., no call no show. I called and sure enough "he was running at least 2 1/2 hours late" once again he asked to reschedule.
4 appointments, one car....no thanks -

Crazy ex girlfriend? Broken windshield? Give Sean a call! He took my call at 6AM on a Saturday morning and responded to me with new windshield at about 10! Not only is he quick and efficient. he's also a really down to earth guy (friendly and respectful) but hey, he's got kick-ass prices! I would recommend Sean time and time again! Thanks Sean for your hard work and for helping me laugh about the whole situation!
