I called ACS based on a friend's recommendation. Having never hired a professional cleaner before, I was afraid our carpet was beyond help. But Rick came out, was very pleasant and professional, and did an amazing job. What compelled me to write my first Yelp review ever, though, was what happened afterward. I inadvertently set something down on the still-wet carpet and left a black stain. When I called Rick freely admitting it was my error and asking what I could do to fix it, he graciously offered to come out again and re-clean the spot free of charge. I don't recall ever being as impressed with anyone's customer service.

After an extensive search for a air duct cleaning service (since there are so many scams out there!), I finally decided to trust all the yelpers to go with ACS! I ABSOLUTELY recommend ACS to everyone who needs to have their air ducts and dryer vent cleaned. Rick is honest and professional. He explained to me in details how he planned to clean our air ducts during the inspection visit; answered all my questions during and after the cleaning process patiently; advised me on a better way to filter the air in my home. It was a wonderful experience working with Rick! His honest service is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!
The air ducts in my home were cleaned in Feb!! -

ACS just worked a little miracle for me.
I have my carpets cleaned every six months to a year. This time around, I'd let them go a year, and they looked it. Darkened traffic areas, and spots galore--including a bunch of red ones in my office. Based on all the positive Yelping, I called ACS.
When David came to do my house, he made all of my carpet look like new. Except those red spots. I couldn't even remember where they came from. "Gonna have to have Rick look at that," he said, gravely.
When David and Rick came back a few days later, Rick gave my spots a miracle treatment... something he told me involved a single oxygen cell. As he explained it, I quickly zoned out, as he was clearly getting into some very advanced chemistry. He went out to his truck, mixed up a magic fluid, then came back and sprayed the spots with said fluid. Then he put a damp cloth on top and a hot iron on top of that. After a few seconds, he lifted the iron and the cloth and voila! Spot had moved from the carpet to the cloth. Twas a miracle! It took a few rounds of treatment, but when he was done, no semblance of the offending red spots remained.
He and David stayed quite awhile, and seemed in no incredible rush to leave. It was a great experience, and they'll definitely get my business next time. Though, from what I've read in the other reviews, that might be awhile. It sounds like the mysterious spots that seemed to magically reappear a few weeks after my old cleaning service left might not come back this time.
And then there's the price. ACS charged substantially less than the big local franchise I've been using for years. All of these things add up to create one more very happy customer. -

I used the services that Rick and ACS provides recently to clean my sofa and chair and I must say, they were superb! When I called to schedule the appointment, I was quoted one price but when he arrived and quoted me per piece, the total would have been $70 more, but he did the whole job for the quoted price. He was very thorough and I liked the fact they use "green"products since I have two cats.
Here's the best part...
As he was finishing up, he noticed that the carpet in our entry way was very soiled. I explained that we had recently moved in and the property manager had cleaned the carpets prior, but they got dirty again very quickly. He expalined why that would have happened and offered to clean the carpet in our entire entry way for an additional $20! I couldn't believe how dirty the carpet had gotten in just 1.5 months! It looks like brand new carpet now!
Rick is extremely knowledgeable in his business and is one of the few people that still knows how valuable business with a smile is. Thanks ACS! -

I used ACS to clean our vent system since it was never done and I was concerned with the dust that has accumulated over who knows how many years. Rick did a great job and was very professional & thorough. He kept me informed along the way and let know exactly what was going to be done before the job started. The price was told upfront and he didn't try to sell me on any other gadgets. I'm planning on getting my carpets done as soon as I can get an appointment in for a steal of a deal.
The Job was done in a reasonable amount of time and very satisfied with their work.
Look forward to seeing how clean my carpet is too! -

We only have carpets in one part of our house, and they hadn't been properly cleaned in many years. I really wanted someone to come to my house to clean them, because although we have a Hoover Steamvac, the dirt level was beyond what I could do myself. Plus, I really didn't have the time or energy to do it myself!
I hired ACS after reading all the great reviews on Yelp. I have to say, I am extremely impressed with this company and would highly recommend them.
One thing that I really like is that the guy who comes to clean your carpets, Rick, is the owner of this small company. This was important to me, because I didn't want ex-cons or day laborers in my house. Rick came with one very respectable assistant (who is also a family member). They did a really fantastic job on my ratty old carpets. The carpets will never look new (they're probably almost 20 years old), but now they're clean enough to make it through a few more years until we remodel and replace them.
Rick and his assistant got out all the stains and even provided us with plastic shoe covers to use while the carpet was still damp.
I'd read on Yelp that Rick's company also does air duct cleaning. We're overdue for that service, and I am sure that we'll have Rick come back in a few months to do that for us, as well.
If you want responsible, professional people cleaning your carpets, upholstery, or air ducts, you couldn't ask for better than ACS. Rick is a veteran of the industry and really knows what he's doing. Don't be fooled by the low price fliers you get from other companies. This one is the real deal. Their prices are very reasonable and they do really terrific work. -

Rick Faveau's company, Advanced Cleaning Services, is the best carpet cleaning service in the Bay Area. I've tried dry chemical carpet cleaners before, and some stains will slowly return. When ACS cleans my carpets, they STAY clean. He offers different cleaning options depending on your needs and budget.
In addition to carpets, ACS provides upholstery and HVAC cleaning. Also, if you let him, Rick will tell you MORE than you care to know about carpets. -

I have hired another company to clean my carpets earlier this year. It's my first time to hire a company to clean carpets. Therefore, I didn't know anything about carpets. The other company came and did the job. We didn't talk much, and I, of course, didn't learn much. There is one area rug that they were not able to remove the stains. So, even after cleaning, there were some grey dots all over the rug.
In comparison, Rick is the man when it comes to carpet cleaning. He is friendly, thorough, very professional, details oriented, he knows his job very well, he had tremendous knowledge about carpet materials, furniture materials, cleaning chemicals, spot dyeing, air duct cleaning etc etc. Rick help me to clean the area rug, and remove the stains. All the grey spots are now gone. In our conversation, he taught me a lot of stuff about rug cleaning.
Highly recommended!! -

I've been using Rick for my employer's home in Palo Alto since 2003. He has always been reliable, trustworthy and honest (we can leave him alone in the house with no worries, if that tells you something). I've put in my share of demanding last minute calls and he has always come through for me. Most recently he had a set of outdoor chair cushions cleaned when I thought they were completely trashed. He went out of his way (and made separate trips) to test different methods of stain removal until he found one that worked without too much fading. He's gold.

Not only did he do a great job on the scheduled date, but due to an unfortunate event he came back to clean up a spot at no additional charge. Thanks Yelpers. I needed my carpets and dryer vent cleaned and I turned to Yelp for help and I found Rick at ACS. He is a wonderful gentleman and he does a fantastic job. I will only ever hire him from now on. My carpets look great and my dryer vent was very clogged. He serviced the vent and my dryer time for a load went from 210 minutes to 60minutes. I would recommend him to anyone. His wife Victoria is lovely to speak to on the phone and you can tell they are very warm and friendly. Rick has his kiddos and wife displayed in his order book and this let me know that we were dealing with a genuine family man. Thanks Rick and Victoria we will be calling you again.

Rick cleaned my sofa and oversized chair; which were both overdue for a thorough cleaning. I was moving three days later so we coordinated it so they would be clean for the new place, but dry. No problems at all! I added the cat tree at the last minute; I would have had him clean someting else but didn't have anything else to clean! Rick is very friendly and did a great job. I definitely recommend his company!

ACS is a wonderful business. I called them yesterday in a slight panic since my mom is coming to visit in a few days and my carpets looked pretty worse for wear. I have 3 young kids and our family room badly needed a carpet cleaning. When I called, they were very courteous and attentive. Not to mention, they were able to fit me in the next day! Rick was extremely friendly, professional and very detail oriented. My family room looks wonderful--the carpet looks better than when we moved in! He even cleaned the stairs by my entry way for free. You don't see companies going the extra mile like that much these days. I will definitely call them again.

ACS came over to clean our ducts recently, and boy were we pleased with the results. I have major allergies. When Rick first came over to clean the ducts, he identified duct problems that inhibited effective cleaning. He recommended another vendor for duct repair and told us to call him if he could help further. Once we had our ducts replaced, he came over to clean the vents. ACS was super clean (even their vacuum was spotless!), very professional and amazingly enthusiastic about cleaning our filthy vents. He even said he loves doing vent cleanings for cases like ours because you can really see the difference before and after. My eyes and nose have been thanking Rick and ACS daily ever since they came over.

My laundry room began to accumulate with condensation every time the clothes dryer was in use. I tried cleaning out the dryer vents myself using a store bought device, which was a waste of $. I called ACS and within days they sent Rick to tend to my problem. Rick was courteous, professional and very efficient. He was able to evacuate 10 years worth dryer lint/ build-up from the vent. Now my dryer works wonders, I am able to save some $ on my utilities bill.

I used ACS last November. They were fantastic. I called right before my Thanksgiving house guests arrived -- with very little expectations -- but ACS gave me an appointment within a few days. Rick and Virginia own the business. I spoke to Virginia on the phone and she was very pleasant and assured me of the company's quality and punctuality.
Rick called shortly before our appt and apologized that he would be an hour late -- the earlier client wanted/needed more done (I think they added upholstery cleaning). I didn't mind the short delay and appreciated the notice. When Rick arrived, I told him I only wanted to do the downstairs and the stairs and he gave me an estimate. When he noticed that he omitted the powder room from the estimate, he said he would do it for free. I said that wasn't necessary (I don't expect people to do work for nothing) but he said it was his mistake and he would stand by his estimate.
The work was fast and thorough. My carpets looked great afterwards and dried quickly. A wonderful surprise: There was a stain upstairs at the top of the stairs that I didn't expect ACS to do and I asked my husband to run our portable cleaner on it and he said ACS cleaned it.
This is the best carpet cleaning service I've used and I will use them again. -

I actually became a yelp member today because of how nice my couch and carpets look. After nearly seven years of having a great micro-fiber couch, two babies later, 2 dogs and a cat, it was time to have the couch cleaned. Not kidding - it looks brand new. Rick spent hours and hours on it, methodically going through ever square inch until it looked perfect. His co-worker did an equally great job on the carpeting. The carpeting is barely a year old but he still got out every stain - including a serious red wine spill. Rick oversaw everything and made sure the job was complete. It's nice to support a small business like this. I'm sure you can get cheaper elswhere but you will not get the same outstanding results!

Rick has been cleaning my carpets for five years at least and I'm always really happy with my experience from beginning to end with ACS. I have an old dog and as anyone who has had an older dog in their life knows, the carpets can really get dirty. Rick shows up and my carpets are like new, he has someone very helpful answering his office phone, can always come within a week and is a professional. Huge recommendation.

I'd been pestering my husband to have the air ducts cleaned for years. We've lived in our place for about 12 years and it was new when we moved in so the ducts have never been cleaned. Also, we live very close to open space where there is lots of dust in the air whenever there's even a hint of a breeze, so I thought at the very least there must be an inch thick layer of the stuff blanketing each air vent. I finally bit the bullet and after checking on Yelp, I called ACS. The woman who answered the phone was very friendly, professional and answered all of my questions. I felt like she was very direct and didn't 'hide' anything as some vendors do over the phone. They were very flexible and worked around our schedule to come out and do the inspection. My husband said the gentleman (I'm sorry, he couldn't remember his first name) was professional and friendly, just like what I experienced over the phone and even took a moment to play high-five with our dog (his version of 'shake') who subsequently followed him around the house for the entire inspection. He was very thorough and even showed my husband what he saw thru the 'snake-scope' camera thing. Bottom line is he recommended we NOT have the ducts cleaned because they looked very good and said maybe next year or even the following one. He could have easily said we 'should' have the ducts cleaned and made a sale! We are rating this company 5 starts for their honesty, professionalism and integrity which are three extremely admirable and desirable traits difficult to find in service delivery these days. We applaud you ACS!

I couldn't have been happier with Rick and his service. I had a very badly clogged long dryer vent. Actually another name brand company tried to clear it a couple of years before and did a poor job. Rick came out and took care of business. Now my vent is perfect. He was good, professional, friendly. Great experience. I was deciding between ACS and another company but Yelp tipped the balance for me. Now I can see why ACS is strictly 5 stars. Great company. I have absolutely no reservations in whole heartedly recommending this company. By the way, the price was Very Resonable.
