Acoustical Vision's installation of my 65" Panasonic Plasma HDTV (Smart TV) was very smooth and professionally done. I would highly recommend this company to anyone seeking this service. When I first called AV, Paul gave me his full attention and knew, understood exactly what I wanted.
Paul and Pedro arrived on-time (8:15 on Wednesday morning), informing me when they arrived. When they arrived, they took time to move my furniture, clear and cover the work area. They treated everything with care and respect.
Paul carefully examined the TV, wall, mount and surface area. Paul gave me options about the location of the mount and positioning of the TV. As they worked, explanations were provided frequently and regularly. I was kept involved by making sure everything was meeting my expectations. Pedro even stated that they take their time to make sure they do exactly what they would want in their own homes.
After everything was done, Acoustical Vision first cleaned up after themselves. All drop clothes and trash was removed; furniture was returned to the proper location. Lastly, Paul and Pedro connected all my devices and did a check to make sure everything was working properly.
Paul and Pedro threw in a few extras:
-Providing longer HDMI cables for connected devices
-Adding HDMI splitter to allow multiple devices on one port
-Rewiring, fishing DSL modem to be close to the Smart TV, connected devices
-Mounting, fishing sound bar wires
-Connecting, fishing Ethernet cable for TV Smart service
-Patching hole in drywall made to run power -

This review is WAY overdue, as they installed my flat screen last year...sorry Acoustical Vision! But they were so awesome that I could not let my Yelp slacking prevent me from writing a laudatory review. They were professional, punctual, and friendly. Also, they hung a super heavy antique mirror that I had been too scared and/or lazy to hang myself.

I had a great experience with Acoustical Vision. I give Paul 5 stars for responsiveness and for getting things done. I gave him a call on Thursday asking to get our tv mounted that weekend. He offered Saturday and I mentioned that I could only do Sunday and he was able to accommodate this. Unfortunately, his house was flooded by the storm that came through on Saturday night, so I received an email saying he might be a couple hours late. He still showed up basically on time and had a great employee with him. They installed an outlet behind our tv, thread the wires through the wall, and mounted our tv in less than a few hours. He was also the most affordable deal I found after calling around and I was glad to have used the yelp discount he offered.
Thanks so much for coming out, even when your own place was flooded! -

Yep, reviewing these guys again. My third job was definitely the last piece of a wiring puzzle (running speaker wire to 4 outdoor speakers, about 200+ feet of it). Always, always great - easy to deal with, quick, and down to Earth. Oh, and did I mention my home system wakes the neighbors now? Puts a smile on my face...
Try hunting thru Yelp for A/V reviews in Chicagoland - its a train wreck. Give Paul a call (or text works best), and mention you found him on Yelp. I promise you'll have his full attention, but I've never had reason to second guess them. Huzzah.2 Previous Reviews: Show all »

Had a very good experience with Acoustical Vision. Paul and his assistant mounted two 55" LCDs at my place as well as installed 4 additional power outlets. They did excellent work and I'm looking forward to inviting them over again for mounting a third TV in another bedroom.

Started off pretty well. Paul actually came out to see the place on a sunday! I was very impressed. He was a few minutes late, but who cares. When he came in, I explained what I wanted and he said there was no way to fish the wires over the ceiling. I would have to route the wire along the baseboard with staples...I just listened. I wasn't going to let that happen, it would look horrible, and I knew that there was 3 feet from ceiling to concrete above..sounded a little lazy to me.
Anyway, he told me what he could do and said he would email me the estimate for the work. I said fantastic. Here we are 9 days later and still no estimate..you know what though? I got the work done and I got it done right with the speakers mounted in the ceiling and wires fished over..easy as pie. If there was an option for zero stars, Acoustical Vision would get it.
Paul (the owner) gets zero stars not because of his A/V installation skills but because of his lack of honesty and horrific client relationship skills. I actually have no idea how good he is at installing A/V equipment because he never showed up for my appointment - but if his client relationship skills are any indication, he would probably have hung my TV on the wall upside down using duct tape.
I discovered Acoustical Vision on Yelp and was impressed by the positive reviews from past clients. So I called him up and scheduled an installation appointment for my new condo. We agreed on a 7am start time on a Saturday about two weeks later. I also sent him an email immediately after we spoke with my address and said I was "looking forward to our appointment on November 20th at 7am."
Nevertheless, I've had contractors flake on me before, so I called him up a day before to confirm that we were all set. It quickly became apparent that he had not noted my appointment in his calendar because he was foggy on the details of my installation. He had no record of my address and suggested he would do the installation in the afternoon. I reminded him we had agreed on 7am, and after a few minutes of back and forth, he said he'd be there at 7am. Just to be safe, I sent him another email with my address and said "see you tomorrow at 7am."
No such luck. At 7:30am, there was still no sign of Paul. So I called him up...and thus begins the string of lies that spewed from his mouth for the next 12 hours. He told me that his van had broken down and that he needed a mechanic to come fix it. I was suspect right away because of how hazy he had been the day before, but I gave him the benefit of the doubt and asked him to keep me posted. It quickly became apparent that he had mistakenly double-booked my installation with someone else's.
I didn't hear from him again until about 2pm. He told me the mechanic had arrived and was currently "draining the fuel line" (sounds serious!) and asked me for the second time, "worst case scenario, what's your availability tomorrow?" I told him tomorrow wouldn't work, and he told me he'd call me back when he knew more.
He finally called me back at 6pm and said it was too late at this point and that we'd "have to do it tomorrow." But this was the best line of all: he said that the mechanic had "found some rusty bolts that needed to be repaired." I'm no auto mechanic, but I was pretty sure after that line that I had been played by Paul. So I told him I had no use for his services any longer.
Though it's poor form, everyone forgets an appointment now and then, so it's excusable in my book if corrected appropriately - but Paul didn't have the professional decency to come clean about it. I would have asked him to reduce his fee as compensation for my inconvenience, but I still would have let him do the work. Instead, he tried to cover up his forgetfulness with a phony van breakdown story and then lied to me for 12 hours until it was too late in the day to do the work.
Lesson learned. I will never use his services in the future and I would strongly encourage others to consider the kind of "professional" that would treat clients this way before hiring him.Comment from Paul T. of Acoustical Vision 4/26/2011

I can't recommend highly Paul enough. His price was hundreds of dollars lower than other estimates I received to wall mount my 50" plasma tv and a sound bar. We had agreed to have him come to our apartment on a Thursday evening. I accidentally had my phone on silent that evening. By the time I realized that I had missed his calls, he was already on his way home and we had to reschedule. I felt terrible about the situation, but Paul was incredibly accommodating. He texted me and was able to come that Saturday morning and to complete the job. The installation looks incredible-truly a professional business all around. Highly recommended!

Acoustical Vision was great! Paul and his assistant (I didn't get his name) was great. They explained the entire set-up before starting , their customer service skills are great and they even asked if they should remove their shoes!
They mounted my TV to my basement wall without any issues. Paul also programmed my remote and changed the settings on the TV to show better picture. They left my house spic & span like there were never any work done.
I'll be calling them back to install a surround sound system.
UPDATE: I had to drop my stars from 5 to 3. My wife called Paul to mount my tv in my bedroom and he could not commit to a time. We called on Thursday and he said he will call back Monday to set a time. HUH?Whats up with that? I'm still waiting on a call. Paul did a very nice job taking down my old tv and hanging my shiny new LCD. I didn't have the proper screws for the mount, be he was able to dig them up from his van. He is also skilled in electrical work and was able to jury-rig a network cable on the spot. Paul was very precise and a bit fanatic about getting the job done right. He was also very clean and made sure that I tested everything before he left.
The final touch was when he helped me carry my 100lbs+ plasma down 3 flights of stairs. A++++ for the extra effort Paul! -

What's a lady to do when the man picks a tv and mount that "we can totally mount on the wall ourselves"? Call Paul.
We picked up our tv and mount at best buy. Our mount doesn't qualify for the geek squad installation deal, so true to form the man says we don't need it. Well, I'm sorry but if we're going to hang a tv that is more expensive than most people's monthly mortgage payments on a wall, I want a professional. That's when Paul came in and saved the day.
Acoustical Vision not only mounted our tv, but ran every single cord through the wall and relocated an electrical outlet all for much less than any other similar companies (including best buy) quoted.
Now that I know my tv is securely mounted and cords completely hidden, all I have to worry about how realistic the hd is on this thing and that Michael Scott is going to jump through the tv into my living room. -

Paul and Jose were fantastic. They did a great TV install which involved drilling into a cement ceiling for the mount. The installation was as clean as could be and I couldn't be happier. They were courteous throughout the whole installation and made sure everything was perfect afterward. They were very professional I highly recommend them, and will be recommending them for sure within my condo building.

Upon reading the outstanding reviews on Yelp, we took the leap to contact Acoustical Visions in hopes of getting our 60" Plasma mounted (after 2 rejects from 2 different companies that we won't name, BUT I'll just say the place that sold us the TV wouldn't even mount our TV and they have been around since 1936!). I digress...
We had the pleasure with working with Paul from Acoustical Visions who was a GENIUS at mounting our 60" TV. First off, being a finicky girl who likes things clean and tidy, I was a tad weary of this TV installation as we have had issues with tidiness from other types of installation work to home maintenance jobs (plumbing, electricity). I was in awe and very thankful that Paul was on the same wave length as my tidiness preferences and even more tidy than I!
Paul was respectful of our house rules and took off his shoes to our new home as soon as he walked in (we didn't even have to ask, which is rare as we always have to remind our own friends of this house rule). He began to prep the area by laying down the floor coverings that he provided to help protect our hardwood floors from any potential damage and to pick up any possible debris from the installation.
The actual installation went by SO smoothly and quickly. He had to drill our wall and "thread" through the wiring. The drilling was quick and efficient. The wires were laid out in a manner that was very well organized -- he even installed the wiring for our WII (something we didn't even think about that he suggested -- Brilliant Idea!)
He had an amazing knowledge of how to mount various televisions, install audio....the entire spectrum of electronics installation. Paul was so informative that I think he should write up his own WIKI on the subject. It was great knowing that the install was done at ease as Paul was able to do the job perfectly.
We would highly recommend Acoustical Visions and their entire team for Audio / Video services any day. -

Paul and his crew did a excellent job mounting a 58" plasma and putting my surround sound speaker together. He was extremely accommodating to my demands, as a neat freak and patiently answered all my questions. Also, checked out craigslist and yelp as well as amazon's own providers and paul came out to be the cheapest. Thanks Paul!

I purchased a 3d tv from ABT and had a somewhat complicated installation job considering the location of my hutch. After getting a pricey quote from ABT I contacted acoustical vision. I am extremely satisfied with the work they did and I saved quite a bit of money. I have contacted Paul twice since and he promptly replied offering any assistance/ follow up I needed.

Paul came out promptly to give me a quote for installing three TVs. Each installation had different degress of difficulty. When he came back to do the work, he did a good job. Two of the TVs worked well immediately and all three looked nice. There was some ongoing trouble with the most complicated installation. I understood but, of course, wished it would have taken less time (several visits) to figure out the problem. Overall though, it was a good experience. He is a very nice man.

I contacted Acoustical Vision based on their ad on Craigslist and the positive reviews from Yelp. I couldn't be more pleased with the choice! Paul routed our cable through the wall, up over a door frame and patched his work neatly. He also moved an outlet up so that both the cable and electrical are hidden behind the TV. We now have our small bedroom flat screen mounted on an articulating arm that swings out so we can watch it from our bed. Lastly Paul gave me an estimate to move some components and hang another larger TV for us. I would definitely call Acoustical Vision again for any A/V issue in the future!

Paul is a great guy. Was meticulous when installing my 50" plasma and Marantz sound bar. There are no wires visible anywhere and it looks great. He also ran coaxial to the location of the tv through the wall. I'll be calling him again to setup surround sound in my basement when the time comes.
