I started seeing Dr. Elon Bartlett a few months ago after having nagging pains in my lower back. I blame it on too many hours spent at the computer. I had never thought to see a chiropractor until a friend suggested the idea. I checked my insurance provider and found that he was one of the chiropractors listed in my network and was able to schedule an appointment for the same day.
I was a bit nervous when I first came in because I didn't know what to expect when seeing a chiropractor, but Dr. Elon Bartlett put me at ease right away. He is very friendly and professional and spent a lot of time finding my problem areas as well as troubleshooting. He got out all the knots in my neck and back and I felt so much lighter and relaxed after my adjustment. In addition, he showed me numerous stretches to help prevent my muscles from tightening up as well as exercises to strengthen my back. His times are flexible and he is very efficient with scheduling. I never have to spend time in the waiting room.
Dr. Bartlett taught me that you shouldn't wait until you are in pain to see a chiropractor. Preventive care is paramount to your health. Don't expect to be miraculously fixed after one visit to the chiropractor if you have bad habits and posture. I have noticed that I am more conscious of my posture and now rarely experience back pains. Do your body a favor and make an appointment to see Dr. Bartlett ASAP! -

I'm a musician who needs to move and set up my own equipment for the shows I do. I've been a patient of Dr. Bartlett's in the past and recently, I really hurt my lower back moving my gear. I called the Wellness Center and got an appointment right away. A day after my first treatment, I felt so much better! Two more treatments, plus doing the exercises he prescribed, has left me pain free and well on the way to complete recovery.
I can't say enough about Dr. Bartlett, or about the comfortable office and the conscientious staff at Acorn Wellness.

They are really nice people, and I like that they are a green office. But I won't go back ever, and I am in more pain after going there than before. I had emailed previously to coming in to see if Dr. Bartlett could help. He responded with what I presume is a script that he sends to anyone who asks questions suggesting that I come in for an appointment.
I asked several times what he thought was causing me so much pain, but he did not explain. I have a bruise on my hand after the appointment, a headache, soreness in multiple spots where he put too much pressure, and the pain in my lower back is worse.
It seems like from the reviews that he is good with pregnancy stuff, which he said is his specialty, but I won't go back. I can't believe that I spent all this money to have someone put me in even more pain!Comment from Elon B. of Acorn Wellness Center 2/29/2012

I was injured in a car accident a few months ago and was in constant pain. I had heard good things about Dr. Bartlett and am so glad I went to Acorn Wellness Center. It turns out regular chiropractic adjusting was a little uncomfortable for me, so based on my feedback, he only used a little "clicker" to gently adjust my spine.
In addition, he referred me to his massage therapist, Whitney, for therapeutic massage. She is a true healer and I'm being very honest when I say the best I've ever experienced. She used tuning forks on different parts of my body which helped my muscles relax more deeply than they ever have. I wouldn't have thought I could be feeling this good so soon after my accident, but with the help of Dr. Bartlett and Whitney, here i am feeling much better.
Great care and thought has be put into the office which is pleasant and immaculate, and the atmosphere relaxing. No matter what kind of day I've had, as soon as I walk into the office I feel instantly calm. And as an added bonus, the office is totally kid-friendly. -

I generally feel pretty good and have considered myself lucky to not have back pain like many people do. So when I had a bad muscle cramp in my lower back and I just couldn't get around, I was pretty worried. I went to see Dr. Bartlett and he figured out what my problem was in a few minutes, massaged my tight muscles, and then gave me a really great adjustment. An hour later, I was walking out of there feeling much better. That was over 3 years ago and I have been feeling great ever since. This guy really knows his stuff.

Elon is a first class chiropractor, and my first choice for treatment. On the one hand, he has expert competence around anatomy, diagnoses, and adjustments, and a firm steady touch. On the other hand, he has a gentle patience, open presence, and a great, accepting listening ear. The two energies combine, like yang and ying, to create a great healer.
He has improved my neuro-muscular pains and tightnesses every time I have seen him. -

Dr. Elon Bartlett is great at what he does. He's smart, knowledgeable and is a good communicator. He also knows a lot about physiology.
For those of you that don't believe in Chiropractic Medicine, what can I say except you are CRAZY and should move back to the back to the swamp you crawled out of.
So anyway, I generally don't like being touched by strangers unless it's going to involve me having an orgasm or getting cash at the end of the transaction.... but I digress.
Dr Bartlett spends about an hour with you on the first visit and a regular session after that is about 30 minutes.
He takes his time and listens, talks about what he's going to do, shows you using a model spine and the table and then does it. Awesome.
He used to be a massage therapist and still uses deep tissue and other massage techniques to relax you, and then he puts you in the table for the adjustment portion of the session.
I have let 3 people crack my neck in my life. It requires an immense amount of trust and some serious zen relaxation techniques.
I was put in the zone and the neck cracking changed my life.
I can once again play the piano and blow myself... at the same time!

I was originally hesitant to go to a chiropractor at all, but was referred to Dr. Bartlett for back pain from overstretching in yoga. He not only made that pain go away, but has made me feel better overall. That was over a year and a half ago.
In the meantime, I have gotten pregnant and am now a mother to a happy and healthy baby boy. Throughout my pregnancy, I saw Dr. Bartlett and his adjustments allowed me to continue to be able to work in my job without pain, and it allowed me to stay active until the end. I also believe that his care helped my baby be head-down for his natural delivery.
I think Dr. Bartlett is a fabulous caregiver because he listens to the problem, and structures the session to how the patient is feeling that day, and to the patient's overall health and demeanor. In addition to being great at his job, I find him personable and a pleasure to be around. By the end of my pregnancy, when I felt like all I did was see doctors, this appointment was one I would look forward to.
I highly recommend Dr. Bartlett for care whether you are or aren't pregnant. When I go, I feel safe and cared for, and afterwards, my body feels better. It is the best thing I never knew I needed. -

During my last pregnancy, I suffered from constant extreme pubic, pelvic and lower back pain. I thought and was told by my OB that this was normal, so while it was excruciating, I just had to accept it as one of the "joys" of pregnancy.
When I started to experience the same thing with this pregnancy, I decided to see if there might be another answer, one with perhaps a treatment option. After extensive research, i learned that what I was experiencing was not actually that normal. While some aches and pains are expected, the amount of pain I was in was out of the ordinary. I also learned that there was a name for the pubic pain I was experiencing, Pubic Symphisis Dysfunction or Pubic Symphisitis, and better yet that there was actually a treatment for it.
A little more research brought me to Acorn Wellness Center and Elon Bartlett. Prior to becoming a chiropractor, Elon was a massage therapist and as such he uses a combination of traditional chiropractic adjustments, with a great deal of muscle manipulation. I won't lie to you, some of the massage work can be quite painful, but no worse than a good deep tissue massage and at the end of it all, you can actually feel your body going back into the proper alignment.
I waddled/shuffled into Acorn Wellness Center about 5 weeks ago, and after a couple of visits I was out "running", (as much as anyone who is 8 months pregnant really can run), around with my 4 year old in the park. While the pain isn't completely gone, I've noticed that with each successive visit I've felt increasingly better and I can now walk like a normal person. -

Dr. Elon Bartlett keeps me going. I lift babies, mostly twins, for a living as a postpartum doula. I work at night in different families' houses, taking cat naps on odd couches and chairs. Dr. Bartlett has come to the rescue many times over the years no matter how my neck or back have suffered, he is able get them back to health and comfort.
I also feel confident in referring the moms and dads I work with to him for help when the rigors of pregnancy, birth, and parenting have take a physical/skeletal toll. His specific knowledge, and skill working with childbearing women is astoundingly unique and effective. -

Wow, I don't know if I can convey how great Elon Bartlett is in a short review, but here goes. I was 41 and six months pregnant with my second child. I started having awful hip/pelvis pain that kept me up at night, and I thought I was doomed to have this pain for the next three months. After a week of this, I asked my midwife and she recommended Dr. Bartlett. I called and they got me in promptly. Dr. Bartlett spent a lot of time with me accessing my situation and massaging and adjusting me. I felt so much better when I left his office and later that day, I was pain-free, for the first time in a week! He also taught me stretches I could do to keep the pain from returning.
I saw Dr. Bartlett every other week for the rest of my pregnancy. He was always very professional and attentive, and I felt great for the rest of the pregnancy. The worst part about every appt. was that I had to eventually leave at some point: I was always so relaxed at the end of each appointment that I just wanted to lie there all day. (It's also awesome to be big and pregnant and to be able to lie face down on his great table.)
When I was eight months pregnant, I threw out my back carrying my older son and Dr. Bartlett worked into his lunch hour to help me, and I felt much better afterwards.
Dr. Bartlett's receptionist Maureen is very friendly and professional. I enjoy talking with her, and she always works closely with me to get me an appt quickly if I need to come in for any reason.
Dr. Bartlett told me that regular chiropractic visits during pregnancy can decrease labor time and I am now a believer. My first labor was long, but this second child was born after only 2.5 hours of active labor! Dr. Bartlett will come after hours to help you during labor if you wish, but I didn't have time to experience this bonus care.
I have experience with two other chiropractors and Dr. Bartlett is by far the best of the three. If you need a chirpractor, esp. if you are pregnant, please go see Elon Bartlett! -

I have known Dr. Elon Bartlett for over 20 years, in fact, before he decided to become a chiropractor, he was my massage therapist.
I will never forget the day back in 1989 that I suddenly had very sharp pain from cramps in the middle of my back. I was literally writhing in agony and almost unable to move at all. Thankfully, Elon came to my rescue, massaging the area and working his magic and relieving the painful cramp within a few minutes. He also recommended that I visit a chiropractor regularly, advice I took very seriously, even though I had been told chiropractic was "quackery."
After that experience, I began regular visits for massage therapy from Elon for several years afterward. His massages were among the best I have ever experienced. To this day, I would rate his skills at the very top of my list of several hundreds of massages I have had since then.
I now live in Los Angeles and this is the only reason I don't see Dr. Bartlett for chiropractic treatment. I highly recommend him because he is talented in the art of massage, very knowledgeable in matters of health and wellness, and most of all, he is a lifesaver! He worked miracles for me. -

Dr. Bartlett has, quite literally, been a hero and a 'lifesaver' for me!
I met Dr. Bartlett through a professional connection within the Birth Services world. Before putting myself in his care, I had tried a variety of health care providers and alternative healers, in an effort to deal with some personal health conditions that have wreaked havoc upon my life. I came to him with my concerns, he listened, and he's been guiding me with his care ever since! There are days when i've been able to BARELY WALK into his office - yet i leave feeling functional again.
Dr. Bartlett's *specialty* of care is with pregnant women and those who've recently given birth. While he is competent and highly skilled at overall Chiropractic care, he's one of the FEW who know how to work with pregnancies - especially those women with complicated near-term conditions. I know of countless clients who've been able to go on to have natural childbirths because of his chiropractic care. Dr. Bartlett has been particularly good at helping with posterior and breach conditions, and some clients who might have otherwise ended up with a C-section were able to experience the natural childbirth they had desired due to his care.
Finally, from a human perspective... Dr. Bartlett is friendly and kind, while also being able to assess his client's situation and work accordingly with them. He has 'family plans' to foster and encourage full family care, and is reasonably priced well within standard industry fees.
If you're looking for someone in Berkeley or nearby Oakland, you'd do well to give him a call! And if you're pregnant - or know someone who is - you'd do YOURSELF a HUGE FAVOR by going to see him! :-) -

I'm an office manager and semi-professional singer, and I've always had body issues due to some repetitive stress injuries to my neck during my younger, wilder days, and I carry a lot of emotional stress in my body. Sitting in front of a computer for hours a day also exacerbates my problems. I also sleep funny sometimes and wake up with a little chiropractic emergency.
I've seen Dr. Elon Bartless since 2004. He has taken care of my needs from my maintenance care, to my recovery after a car accident. He always does a bit of soft tissue work before actually getting to the adjustment, which I find makes the adjustment easier, and it holds better. In the five years while I've been seeing him, I have seen my headaches disappear almost completely, along with the muscle spasms in my shoulders. I see him from time to time just to keep myself feeling good and properly aligned.
What is really important to me as a singer is my alignment. It is where a good, supple breath is able to be created, and good alignment ensures ease of attack and accuracy of pitch. I often find that I have the most benefit when I see Dr. Bartlett right before a rehearsal or performance... i walk out feeling great, happy and well taken care of , which is a great way to show up to sing.
Dr. Bartlett recently got new digs at 2929 Summit Street, a definite step up from his last office, which was still nice, but this one is even nicer. From the streamlined water dispenser that not only gives hot and cold, but ROOM TEMP water (for those of us who prefer that... wow), to the wooden floored room where Pilates will be taught, to the hand-picked granite counters in the beautifully track-lit waiting room... it all makes you feel comfortable and taken care of. Plus, Dr. Bartlett is just one all around nice guy. He's compassionate and really interested in his patient's care and well being. He also offers a lot of specialized care and products for women who are pregnant, and he's got a children's area in the waiting room, too.
I highly recommend Dr. Bartlett for anyone looking for a chiropractor, and even anyone who hasn't ever seen one and had the benefit of an adjustment. -

He has a great bedside (tabelside?) manner, never rushes patients, answers all your questions thoroughly, is great with kids, has a great positive energy, loves his work & on top of all that is an amazing clinician!!!

I've seen various chiropractors, holistic healers, and physical therapists over the past several years for back pain, shoulder pain, and TMJ. I can honestly say that Dr. Bartlett is my favorite. I felt at ease with him from the moment I met him because of his friendly demeanor and his thorough explanations of symptoms and treatments. Not only is he friendly, he is effective. His use of both massage and chiropractic techniques made my intense, constant lower back pain subside drastically within the first couple treatments. I only wish I had found him more than 2 weeks before I moved away!
After my last session with Dr. Bartlett, he told me that I should call or email him with any questions if I ever needed because I was now his patient for life. I really think he meant it! -

Dr. Bartlett has seen me through my pregnancy, birth, and first two years of my child's life. I had a wrecked back to begin with, from years of competitive springboard diving.
Add to that a burgeoning baby belly, birth and a toddler now at 30 lbs; easy to say it is a dynamic situation.
Throughout the myriad of glitches in my spine, hips, and ribs; Dr. Bartlett listened to me and then treated not just the symptom but the underlying condition. This has lead to a strength and stability after a long term treatment instead of a dependency.
I recommend him highly. The entire experience of his office is soothing. My two year old looks forward to it as well. Maureen 's personal touch with the admin and reminder phone calls is also a serene experience. Thank you, Bartlett Chiropractic! -

I am a massage therapist and so am pretty knowledgeable about bodywork. When the stresses of life, and my work, get me feeling tight and sore, I go to Dr. Bartlett. He's been my chiropractor since 2006 and has helped to eliminate my migraines, as well as relieved my back, hip and neck pain. I really appreciate that instead of just adjusting my joints, he also uses massage techniques to soften my tight muscles first.
He is extremely grounded and brings a positive spirit to his work. It is obvious that Dr. Bartlett thoroughly enjoys and is motivated by what he does.

Elon has helped me on a number of occasions, bringing me back from very painful episodes. He clearly loves his work and is always willing to spend the extra time with me, making sure I understand what is happening with my body. I have seen Elon for neck, shoulder, low back and neck pain.

My husband, 5 year old son, and myself has had a wonderful experience going to see Dr Bartlett. We had 3 sessions so far and after the first one I notice a big difference. I'm a mother with two kids working full time on my feet all day. when I get off of work I'm constantly lifting my 17 month old baby, cleaning, cooking and on my feet all night. So I've had alot of aches and pain. So I really needed some relief and knew that if I don't start getting help now, than it will slowly start to get worse when I get older. As well as more expensive (surgery, rehab, etc...)
So, Yes, after the first session felt amazing I went home that night and slept like a baby with no aches or pain.
I also notice that I've been losing weight alot easier, I really believe it's because of the adjustments that Dr Bartlett has made to my body. I also notice my body feels great, I hardly have the headaches that I use to have all the time, I can stand up longer at work without hurting much at all.
I really recommend Dr Bartlett, he is very educated and knows what he's doing. -

I could probably write a book about Dr. Bartlett, about how seven years ago he literally scraped me off the floor when I could neither stand nor sit without intense pain from a back injury, and how he (magically, it seemed to me) fixed my utterly broken body.
This when my doctor, trips to the hospital and about seven other previous chiropractors failed. I was considering drastic measures. But... after only 2 weeks of seeing Dr. B, I saw improvement. I was walking, driving almost normally. After 4 weeks, half the pain; after 2 months, it began to become a distant memory, a bad dream.
Not a day goes by when I don't remember how bad my back was, what it was like to live in pain, and I also thank the heavens, the cosmos, my wife (who found him), or just my good, good luck that I finally met Dr. Bartlett.
Particulars:
Listens carefully to what you say. Knows exactly how to approach the problem.
Uses a combination of many techniques like table adjustments, manual adjustments, deep tissue massage, and other things I don't know what they're called but they HELP!
Very modern, clean, friendly office. The best!

Elon is a master at what he does.
I'm a young and physically active 48 year old who sits in front of a desk from 8 - 5 but, once away from my desk I'm in motion. I bicycle for transportation and fitness, rock climb, dance, and play table tennis. Occasionally, after a hard day at the climbing gym my neck will have some tightness and soreness. I'm also prone to have my lower back tighten up from sitting at a desk all day.
Elon carefully evaluated my neck and back and then did massage to loosen up the muscles and get a further feel for my body. The adjustments he did on my back and neck noticably released tension and helped me to feel more aligned. My neck had a great release and felt as though my head was sitting in its proper place above it.
Elon is a skilled Chiropractor with a great touch and great intuition. He has a knack for finding out where blockages are and releasing them. -

As far as Chiropractors go, I would have to say that Elon is badass.
But whether or not the treatment helped (or Chiropractic treatment in genera), I can't say that it did. The few times I visited, I didn't see any difference really.
Other chiros I've been visited would just crack you for a minute and kick you out of there after an expensive adjustment.
Elon takes the time to massage your muscles and stretch you before doing any cracking, and thoroughly explains things to you and keeps you informed.
If you're in downtown Oakland, and need a chiropractor I highly recommend him. He's better than the quick crack chiropractors out there. -

I have had the pleasure of discovering Dr. Elon Bartlett as I was looking for a chiropractor who works with women in pregnancy. But what sets his work apart, and above, others I've been to is his integration of massage before adjustments, which help the spine align more naturally (as well as it just feels incredible!).
I am also on my feet all day at work and have a physically demanding job as a hair stylist, so aside from wanting the preventative care of hip alignment, etc while pregnant, I also needed someone who could free up my work pains that so graciously found their way into my neck, shoulders and arms.
Dr. Barlett spent a good amount of time on our first session explaining who chiropractic lessens strain as the pregnancy progresses as well as keeping my hips and sacrum moving in a way that will aid in a smoother labor and delivery. He is knowledgeable and personable with a down-to-earth confidence that allows for feedback both ways.
I have felt a great difference in my hip and back alignment since going to him, as well as having much less shoulder, back and arm tension. I highly recommend his work to everyone. -

Let me start by stating quite simply that Elon Bartlett is the MAN.
He is the MAN in the sense of 'Elon is the BOMB' or 'ELON RULES' or 'ELON 4 PREZ' or 'ELON 4EVA.'
He is NOT the MAN in the sense of the MAN being equal to 'The Establishment' or even male dominated patriarchal stereotypes.
Energetically speaking, Elon is actually one of the most well-balanced individuals I have ever met. He possesses the right balance of masculine and feminine energy along with a calm and soothing demeanor, an open heart, and a formidable intellect.
All of these qualities serve to make him one of the very best Chiropractors in the field.
Elon is highly skilled, extremelely knowledgable and experienced, and immeasurably patient as a chiropractor and a human being.

I'm a new patient to Dr. Bartlett and am so happy to have found him. My chronic lower back pain was getting increasingly worse with my pregnancy and just thought it was one of those things you just have to just grin and bear it.
I tried acupuncture which will relieve some pain, but not enough and not as longer lasting. I went to Dr. Bartlett last Monday, he spent a good deal of time with me, explaining everything about the adjustments, the inner workings of the table and what he was going to do prior to doing the treatments and.... I'm much better.
I'm experiencing less pain in my back, doing stretches throughout the day. The my right hip that pained me has stopped after the hip adjustment on Thursday!!!! woohoo.... just in time for my fishing trip! -

Truly great chiropractor. I've been plagued by lower back pain for at least several years, and it had gotten to a point where it would affect my productivity. As a young 20 year old, I would often wonder if there's something wrong with me and I dread back pain that I would get once I hit my 40s 50s and beyond.
I've tried various remedies. I went to receive acupuncture treatment in Hong Kong. That didn't help at all. I went to an awesome massage therapist. It was a splendid experience (got me hooked) and I felt relieved for a couple days before the slow ache came back. Finally I tried Dr. Bartlett.
Immediately after the first treatment, the pain has subsided by 80%. I felt good for weeks. I now go here monthly or bi-monthly, although the pain comes back once in a while, it has proven to be the best therapy for me.
Also, Dr. Bartlett is a great guy, there's always something interesting that we talk about. -

Dr. Elon Bartlett gave me immediate relief after I injured myself in a bike crash. After about 3 sessions, I was back in the gym lifting weights. I highly recommend him for his kind bedside manner, his attention to detail, and his intuitive sense about what your body needs.
An amusing sidenote: my father (a scientist) used to tell me "all Chiropractors are quacks." Elon quickly disabused me of that notion, and I deeply trust Elon's healing work. -

I'm a bit high maintenance when it comes to bodywork. At 31 years of age, I've been in a handful of major car accidents and was in labor with my first child for nearly a week...I've been through MANY chiropractors and massage therapists across the state but none that I've felt as immediate and long-lasting results from as Acorn Wellness Center.
Dr. Bartlett not only treats you but teaches you techniques so you can maintain the treatment at home and minimize your money and time on repeat appointments.
Karma, who does massage therapy at the center, started with fairly minimal information about my body's history but in the first 90 minute massage she intuitively divined where I needed gentle probing and where I needed a complete overhaul.
Now I see either Dr. Bartlett or Karma every month. Together they make a great bodywork team and I highly recommend you booking appointments with one or both of them. -

Positive experience at Acron Wellness every time I go. I have just been for my 3rd visit and the problems I was experiencing are dissipating with each treatment. Elon is very knowledgeable and thorough with being able to address my specific problems and answer my concerns and questions every time. I had some serious neck pains associated with an old surfing injury and wasn't able to deal with the discomfort or headaches any longer. I called their office on a Friday to get some immediate relief and they were able to get me in the same day. I walked out of my first visit already feeling the positive benefits from being readjusted. Bottom line if you have pains you can't address, check out Acron Wellness Center.

A little background...
Woke up with a pain in my neck about a week ago. Decided to go to chiropractor. Checked out yelp, found good reviews of this place and decided to give it a try.
1st appointment - met Dr. Bartlett who seemed nice enough (although he is a talker), had my adjustments and went about my day. I didn't get any relief throughout the week.
2nd appointment -
ACTUAL CONVERSATION...
Dr.: So, did you feel better after your adjustment last week? Have you had any relief?
Me: No, it feels about the same as it did last week.
Dr: Well, I hope it's not cancer or a bone disease.
WHAT??????????
Let me tell you folks something....I'm a paramedic and have worked on a 911 ambulance for 10 years, So I know a bit about the healthcare field.
He was not joking.
This was probably one of the most unprofessional and ridiculous statements I've ever heard from a so called "Doctor"
I just couldn't believe that someone who IS NOT a medical doctor, and has no real clinical experience would make such a statement. If I didn't have the background that I do, I would have been scared to death!
So, in a nutshell...
If the "Doctor" cannot fix your problem in 1 appointment.....CANCER.

Elon is a Master! His healing touch is insightful, knowledgeable and in tune with exactly what my back injury needed. I tried several chiropractors before I ended up on Elon's table and I just wish I had met him earlier on and saved all the money and time I wasted with other chiropractor's! He has my 2 thumbs up vote and my trust. I will never go to another chiropractor. I work as a mover and need constant attention to my alignment. Elon has me up and dancing after every session. I still do not understand how the hell he does it EVERYTIME!! Thank you Elon, you ROCK!!

Acorn Wellness Center is a work of art. Kati and Elon have put their heart and soul into creating this space from scratch. They have beautiful lighting and artwork throughout to create a lovely ambiance. I have gotten many adjustments from Dr. Elon Bartlett over the past 2 years. He begins the session with checking in with your body and whatever issue you would like support with. Then he will take some time to teach you and give you anatomy visuals so you are aware of what and why this is going on. Then he will massage the area and warm your body up so when it is time for the adjustment you are prepared physically and mentally. I love Dr. Bartlett and highly recommend his Chiropractic Services to anyone, especially to pregnant women.

If I could give 10 stars, I would. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Bartlett. I had chiropractic work done before, but was very nervous to have an adjustment while in the last trimester of my pregnancy. When I could no longer deal with the sciatica I was experiencing, I saw Elon. I regret waiting as long as I did to go. He fully explained to me what he thought was causing the sciatica, explained every detail of the treatment, and was gentle, yet very effective. Within a week, the sciatica was pretty much gone and I spent the rest of my pregnancy as comfortable as one can be that pregnant.
The thing that really amazed me, though, was the unbelievable transformation I saw in my newborn son after just one session of craniosacral therapy. If you have a newborn who is fussy, having GI issues or nursing issues (or all 3 like mine), go see him immediately! For 6 weeks, my son had to be held all the time and couldn't sleep on his own. The afternoon after his CST treatment, he slept alone for the first time. The change in his behavior was utterly remarkable. -

Being an RN its crucial that I keep my spine in check; When I don't, my body tells me and I'm headed to see the Chiropractor. I am not one to take pain killers because I do know that there is a reason for my pain/tension and meds only act as a 'band-aid' to cover up the pain but the root of the problem remains. Hence I've been getting chiropractic adjustments for the last 7 yrs now and have benefited a great deal from them.
I changed chiropractors due to proximity from my apt but more importantly I wanted to prime my body in preparation for pregnancy one day in the near future =)
Being that Dr Bartlett specializes in treating pregnant and post-pregnant woman and their families, I wanted to start seeing him.
I started going to Dr Bartlett primarly to relieve my back, neck, shoulder tension. Its been going on 4 months of seeing Elon and I feel 75% better. He used to be a massage therapist so his pre-adjustment massage of my neck and shoulders makes ALL the difference in the world! He understands that our bodies are complex and that muscles, bones, are all connected therefore adjusting cold turkey would not be optimal and most times painful.
I appreciate that he is so down to earth and truly listens to you, but most importantly he really knows the anatomy and proper techniques.
I always walk into his office w/so much tension but walk out feeling a bit taller =) and as if I can breathe easier as well; just an overall feeling of well-being that I can not do justice to put into words; you'll have to just try it out for yourself =)
I do have to add to remember to drink lots of water following your adjustment and to just take it easy physically for rest of the day while your body is returning itself to a state of homeostasis.
I am so grateful to have done my due diligence in researching a new chiro and found Acorn Wellness and Dr Bartlett! The front staff katie and Karma always welcome you with a warm genuine smile and really go out of their way to try to accomodate your schedule whenever possible. They family deal is a great deal, ask them about that.
Also a big plus esp for those on a tight schedule is that Dr Bartlett is always so puntual with his appointments and his office is super clean and welcoming.
PS: Some of my friends tell me of having had a bad experience with chiropractors; I just tell them this "Like with everything else, there are levels of 'quality'; whether you go to an Italian rest'nt or a brain surgeon, you shouldn't clump the entire profession together based on one bad experience. Do yourself a favor, keep an open mind, put your past experiences aside and visit Acorn Wellness, you won't regret it =)

Great location, new offices and as usual a super friendly staff. Elon is great with taking the time to listen and then come up with a treatment plan to improve your well being. I've been seeing him for over 5 years and always feel relaxed after our sessions. If you need a good chiropractor I heartily suggest checking them out.

Dr B has been working on my wife and me since he first graduated chiropractic school. At the time I thought chiropractic belonged in the same group as homeopathy and crystals; I first went to see him as a favor to my wife, who said he needed to see a certain number of new patients in his mentor's clinic.
During the initial exam I told Dr B that I had no health complaints, but I was open to whatever he might find. He gave me a brief but relaxing massage, then adjusted my spine and neck, and I tell you what: It was as if a steel band around my chest had been cut. I mean, I could BREATHE -- really inhale deeply, seemingly (and/or probably) for the first time in years. And I could move my neck in directions that I thought weren't possible anymore.
It was then that I realized how disconnected I had become from my body, and how far I had gotten from really feeling WELL. Dr B is masterful in restoring my body's natural excellence; he's a gift to his clients. -

I first saw Dr. Bartlett on the advice of my doulas when I was late with my first daughter. He specializes in pregnant chiropractic care. My husband accompanied me. He was in a car accident in 1995 that left him with a titanium rod and screws in his right leg. He suffers from periodic back and neck pain as a result.
Elon was great. He takes the time to explain what he does and why. He listens and doesn't rush. His office is set up for families, he even has a toy bin that my four-year old daughter loves to pick through and play with time after time. He even has a changing table set up in the bathroom complete with an assortment of Seventh Generation diaper sizes (just in case you forget yours!). He gives a family discount, and a free first time visit for your newborn. And his adjustments really work. He does massage, chiraopractic and cranio-sacral thereapy. He is the kind of guy you really need on your healthcare team. -

Dr. Bartlett is a gifted healer. I have been seeing him for lower back pain for two years. He takes a lot of time to understand me and my back problem. Though he is a chiropractor by trade, I believe he takes a holistic approach to health. He is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to how the body works. He not only wants to make you feel better in the moment, but is also concerned for the future well being of his patients. He takes the time to demonstrate exercise, postures, etc. that could be helpful in the long run and prevent injury.
On more than one occasion, I have walked into his office in severe debilitating pain, at the end of my rope, only to leave the office feeling drastically better and on the road to recovery. And as if this weren't enough, he has come in on his day off and also stayed late in order to accommodate me.
