Acme Roofing are fantastic! Honest, communicative and responsive.
I knew my roof needed servicing so I got 3 bids - 2 other companies told me I needed an entirely new roof, and to my surprise, Acme said that I actually did NOT need a new roof, I just needed a little patching and a new lightwell roof. The rest of it should be good for another 5 to 10 years. I was SO appreciative of their honesty, and they saved me needlessly spending thousands of dollars on a whole new roof that I didn't need.
I would recommend them without hesitation. Ask for Craig - he will take great care of you! -

I've used Acme for my property management company roofing needs for years and I've always been glad to know they're there and will do an excellent job. I've walked roofs with David and Craig and I know they're extremely knowledgeable and honest.
When it comes to hiring a roofer you never know whether the product you bought is going to work until the next time it rains...except if you hire Acme. They installed the roof on my parents' house 25 years ago and when they renovated they installed solar, requiring a new roof. Acme's diligent ongoing mainteance meant that the 25 year-old roof could have lasted another 10!
Acme is the best! -

Awful!!! They came out and did and estimate and I signed the work order but they never came out. I called them 3 times and every time they said they would come and then didn't. The WORST!

talked to a nice gentleman who asked me 50 questions about who else had given me estimates and how much they were and then told me that they weren't interested. I asked for advice on would be good and could be interested and he gave me none. Very asymmetric information flow. Not an overall great experience.

There's nothing like a rainy winter in San Francisco...until the rain starts pouring into your tenants' apartment and all hell breaks loose. Acme Roofing came out right away and fixed the leaky roof. They were fast, professional and competitively priced.

Acme scheduled roof inspection is what really sold me. They came back to make sure the roof was still in the right condition as it should be. Also they took the time to explain the benefits of having the new roof put in verses just telling me that its NEEDED! Overall its was great working with Acme Roofing.

Acme did our roof two years ago. Needed a small repair (not under warranty, but damage done by the the neighbor's painter), but had great difficulty getting assistance. They no longer have the estimator working for them that we used, and the owner is not organized enough to keep track of much, and his secretary is not assisting either. They do very good work if you can get hold of them. But I tried for 6 weeks and gave up. I gave them 5 stars two years ago. They need a system for taking calls, making appointments, and following through.

As a property management company we have contracted for the installation of many roofs over the years and we have never done business with a better, more professional roofing contractor. Acme may not be the cheapest roofer in the city, but in more than 25 years of doing business with them, we have NEVER had to call them back to redo their work and they are one of the most ethical companies in the city. They have actually reduced their original bill to us when they were able to save us some money by completing the job in less time than they originally budgeted.
The fact that they are a third generation roofing company, here in the city for more than 85 years says it all. The one question I have never quite understood...why would anyone want to get the cheapest roof installed in the spring or summer, pay for it...but not know if it will keep the rain out until the next winter? -

I've emailed them for an estimate and called them requesting an estimate but they have never called back like they've promised to set up a date. It should be zero stars not one star. Very disappointed.

I can hear you all saying "I don't want to use a roofer whose name begins with an A to be first in the phone book", but they really are the best. Ask for Craig and you'll never go wrong. They do the work quickly and clean up beautifully and don't take you to the cleaners with their prices.

I had them come out to check my roof when we moved in and hadn't gotten around to reviewing them until now. I thought my job was too small, but they treated me like I was doing a whole roof. David was professional, got the job done, and I've never had a problem since. Would recommend again.

We installed our 1st roof based on price. 10 years later we spent a miserable winter trying to fix leaks in the roof and putting buckets in the house. The installing roofer was out of business. Acme installed our 2nd roof. The crew was neat and knew their job well. The roof is now 6 years old and still looks great. Acme also came back this summer to install a new roof jack for our new solar heater. I didn't trust anyone else to do it.
