Me and my roommates were looking over the the flyer for the Divis art walk a couple days ago, and when we saw this place none of us had heard of it (apparently we need to get out in our neighborhood more), but apparently it's only been open a couple of months. Anyways, it was pretty crowded the night of the event so we didn't end up going there, but the next night I decided to grab dinner here.

The place itself is pretty simple and clean and the employees were pretty friendly. There's about 7 or 8 different kinds of burgers (beef, boca, chicken, Kobe, ostrich, buffalo) and about 4 or 5 different kinds of fry options (sweet pots, regular, garlic, chili cheese). They also do salads very similar to how Pluto's does there's (pick your greens, meat, dressing, and seven toppings). They also have beer and fountain soda.

One thing I really like about the place is the condiment bar. All the burgers come plain, and you put what you want on them. There's nothing fancy (lettuce, tomato, onion, etc...) but everything looked fresh when I was there. They also have those handle-looking ketchup and mustard dispensers.

I decided to go with a chicken burger and sweet pot fries. The chicken burger was good and I really liked the bun it came on. The fries on the other hand were not that great. They looked (and tasted) like they had been sitting in the freezer for awhile. They weren't completely inedible, but they weren't all that great either. They give you a good amount and if you were coming here with a group you could easily split an order of fries between two people.

As far as the prices go, I agree with most people here in that there a little high. However, the burgers do seem to be high quality, and quite honestly if I were to have ordered a chicken burger and a sweet potato fries for about $12 (that's what I paid here) at a "nicer" restaurant (I guess not one where you order at the counter, bus your own plates, etc...) I probably wouldn't complain, so I shouldn't here.

I'd like to come back here during happy hour, where all beers are $1.95 from 3-10 pm. They have 6 beers on tap (IPA, Blue Moon, Anchor Steam, Fat Tire, and I can't remember other two), which is cool. I'm not in rush to come back here, but it was A-OK I guess.

So, I stopped by Acme Burgerhaus last night during the Divisadero Art Walk, and decided to sink my teefs into one of their burgers. Not beef, but being a newbie to the wacky world of consuming animal proteins, I decided to take my first dip into eating a lamb burger.

True story - when I was 12 years old, my dad cooked lamb for dinner, and I didn't want any part of it. His mantra was always: "you can't leave the table until you've eaten your meat!" He was a midwestern guy, so meat was the focal point of every dish, apparently. If there was even a small scrap of meat left, he'd stand there and ensure I ate it before retiring my plate to the kitchen sink. With that being said, the fact that I protested eating lamb that night meant crying at the table (yes, even as a 12 year old) until I fell asleep at the dining room table - but I stuck to my guns and didn't eat that lamb. So when I decided I'd try lamb for the first time in my life last night, I couldn't help but have flashbacks to that fateful night in good ol' Fallbrook, California.

Obviously I have nothing to compare it to, but I fully enjoyed every morsel. The meat was seasoned with mint, pine nuts and a variety of other spices which created an extremely complimentary taste profile all around. It was charred to perfection and served up on a tasty, grilled bun. Overall, a nice dip into the meaty waters of the domesticated Ovis aries variety.

I'm anxious to try lamb at other spots around town now, as it'll give me a nice contrast to compare.

The kobe beef burger and bun are delicious and that's the only thing that pulled this review up to 2 stars.

A burger, fries and coke are not 10, not 12, not 15 dollars, but 20 freaking dollars and some change. No refills!

I've been there twice, had 2 cashiers and found them both to be frowning, irritable, and uncooperative. The wi-fi didn't work either time.

The first time I was there it was freezing cold. The water was shut off-- no sinks, no toilet, and obviously the cook wasn't washing his hands.

Today, my second visit, it was 49 degrees on Divisadero. I asked the warmly dressed cashier if we could close the door and she refused. This was the second time I've been in that place and it's been freezing cold. I'm aware a small percentage of Nortrhwesterners like to sit outside in the cold at a restaurant but I'm not among them.

The very unpleasant woman offered to turn off the ceiling fans! I rejoiced that turning off the refrigeration would be some consolation. After I had been there for about 12 minutes she apparently decided I had bathed in too much luxury and turned them back on again.

Almost every order the cashier was having to go over there waiting customers and tell them she forgot they were out of something.

People ate in their hats and coats and left quickly. The place was empty when I left, and this is the state I expect to find the place in most of the time.

I'm so aggravated recalling my unpleasant experiences there I'm actually putting it down as 1 star.

I might note, I'm writing this review from the warm, toasty, friendly Beanbag cafe across the street, whose burgers aren't as good but everything else, including staff, are wonderfu..

This place kind of epitomizes what's wrong with my neighborhood.

Which do you want first, story or summary?  I'll go with summary.

I may have come here between their soft opening and their real opening, but I was pretty disappointed by the fact that on their fifth day of business they did not yet have French fries or take credit cards.  I guess I kind of understand the concept of ironing out kinks, but really, on your fifth day?  And their only vegetarian option is a Boca Burger, which is made by Kraft, which is owned by Philip Morris, which I don't support because it's a cigarette company.  Their we'll-make-a-salad-with-your-chosen-ingredients option looked good, if expensive, but they have Annie's Naturals Goddess Dressing, which is amazing, so that's their additional star.

OK, here's the story.

When I moved to my flat in July 2003, there was an Eritrean restaurant in this storefront.  That restaurant soon moved up the street, and 559 Divisadero remained vacant for many years.  Occasionally, someone would be doing work inside, but no new restaurant ever opened up, and I was really sad because this is a great location.

Then, sometime late last year or early this year, one of those signs got posted on the window.  You know the ones; they tell you that someone is applying for an "eating place" license, and they name the business.  The proposed business was to be named Nacho Business.  Besides being a ridiculously stupid and catchy and fun and perfect play on words, Nacho Business excited me because it would mean I wouldn't even have to walk a block to enjoy tasty nachos and/or burritos.  Sure, Papalote is within walking distance, but I'm lazy, and I'm tired of throwing money away at The Little Chihuahua.

Anyway, months passed.  Then, last spring, three lights were placed over the storefront's windows.  The lights were green, white, and red, the colors of the Mexican flag, and I was excited.  The owner was apparently excited too, as he left these lights on day and night for five months.  During that time, two bulbs burned out.  (He didn't replace them with CFLs until recently.)  About two months after the lights appeared, an ATM was installed so that it was accessible from the street.  (Maybe he was trying to pay for all the electricity he was wasting.)

Finally, the much-awaited restaurant opened--but it was a burger place, not Nacho Business.  I grudgingly came here to check it out, and the new employee informed me that the owner had changed his mind about opening a Mexican place.  Now, this place has been jam packed almost every night since about three weeks after its grand opening.  People love the cheap beer and apparently the food.  I can't really argue with success, at least from a business standpoint, but from an I-live-here-and-I'm-tired-of-hipsters standpoint, opening another burger place was a bad idea.

If I ate meat and wanted to eat a burger, I could go to Bean Bag Cafe (601 Divisadero) or Jay's Cheesesteak #2 (553 Divisadero) or KK Cafe (252 Divisadero).  I'd actually prefer to go to either Bean Bag or Jay's because (a) the fries are good at both places and (b) Bean Bag's more comfortable and also has cheap beer.  Now, if Nacho Business had actually opened, it would also be doing really well because it would be a Hayes-and-Divis option for Mexican, would still draw all the hipsters drinking cheap beer, and would compete with The Little Chihuahua, which is always crowded for God knows why.

So I'm bummed about the non-opening of Nacho Business, and I think that making the name Acme Burgerhaus is a pure ripoff of ACME Chophouse.  All in all, the owner of this place seems like a jerk.

Sometimes you get lucky, and by chance you decide to get a burger after enduring 2.5 hrs at the DMV, and you're walking to the bus, and see $1.95 happy hour beers on tap, and you decide to go into Acem Burgerhaus, and you're very happy you did.

A cheeseburger was perfectly medium, Neiman Ranch, and sandwiched between a fluffy hamburger bun, crisp on the bottom from a proper toasting.  There is a DIY 'fixins bar (with special sauce).  The lady at the counter opened my bottle with her lighter, which isn't regulation, but kinda badass.  The best burger I've had in a long time.  All this for $11 didn't at all feel like a gouge.  I left Burgerhause feeling pretty lucky.

This is one of the best burgers I have had in a while, and here's why:

1. Niman ranch meat, and excellent flavor in the burgers. Also, if you happen to choose a crumbled cheese on your burger, such as feta or bleu, they actually massage the cheese into the meat. !!!

2. Their garlic fries are not covered in oil, like inferior garlic fries (Burgermeister, cough cough). They use fresh garlic chopped really finely, maximizing the flavor while minimizing heartburn factor.

3. They do not presumptuously put stuff like lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles, pesto mayonnaise, ketchup/mustard, peppers on your burger. All that stuff and more is available in the little cart thingy, so you can pile high with as many veggies as you please, or abstain entirely. THE CHOICE IS YOURS.

4. They have real Mexican coke.

Those of you crying about the price, well, you saw the prices on the menu before you ordered. You didn't HAVE to spend that money. Also, if the quality matches the price, then there's nothing to complain about.

We went to The Independent last night and decided to grab a burger before entering the theater. Acme Burgerhaus looked nice and inviting and burger I ended up eating was very good. However, Acme's only claim to fame would be the meat - the don't seem to do much else (no "dirty sauce" like Ike's or any special condiments, except perhaps their "pesto mayo" which I did not try). They seemed understaffed, parking was hard to find, the fries were too dry and the burgers are definitely overpriced.

Ole!

Another fine addition to our NOPA neighborhood.    I'm glad to see some new places around.  The space is done up pretty simple, nothing too fancy, mostly functional.  This being said, there's no real reason to over do the decorations.  As for the food, there are countless combos to pair with their Niman ranch beef, along with mix and match salad options.

While I'm happy for the new spot, the price is just a bit steep.  Given the simple furnishings (pipe & board counters) do you really need to charge as much as you do?  I'll probably stop in again, but be warned...this aint no cheap burger joint.

Last week, I read many negative reviews from one of the newest burger joint in the city. Therefore I have no intention of going and quickly eliminated Acme Burgerhaus from my bookmarked "to try" list.

But then, in a short time, I lied. I was in the neighborhood for some work-related issues and with an empty stomach and a stressful working day, I did end up coming here after my work.

From the menu, I had the Kobe Beef burger. For $13.00 and one of the pricier burgers I've had in a while, my customized Niman Ranch and higher-grade burger comes with a choice of cheese for an extra $1.00 in a toasty bun.  There is also a condiment bar right behind the cashier with the vegetables and sauces including a Pesto Mayonaise. I also got a basket of fries for $3.00 and the side is nothing too fancy. My first time eating the Kobe Beef burger and I didn't find anything too exciting either.

My burger: http://www.yelp.com/bi...

The best deal was the happy hour $1.95 tap beer special from 3pm-10pm. I got Sierra Nevada Pale Ale as my beverage with my meal. Among the available beer on the special is: Blue Moon, Anchor Steam, PBR, IPA and Full Sail.

My beer: http://www.yelp.com/bi...

My meal totaled to nearly $20.00 and that is one pricey meal from that neighborhood. Well, lesson is learned.

Here's a little tidbit about me: I LOVE my neighborhood, & I'm almost always good for a knee-jerk 'wow, there's a new joint in the neighborhood!' review that is typically teeming with excitement & positivity.

That said, I was definitely excited to see that a formerly empty storefront on Divis was suddenly occupied by a new burger joint. But my excitement was ultimately ephemeral. It didn't extinguish like a match thrown into a toilet (I want to say that, but frankly it's not that simple). Acme Burgerhaus turned out to be more like a slow fade.

I kinda suspected it a bit right when we walked in the door, when the girl we ordered from didn't say hi or look at us at all. Adding insult to injury, our burgers were like...$13 each. THIRTEEN DOLLARS! Now, I'm okay to drop that much on a burger every now & then if that burger is phenomenal. But that definitely set the bar pretty high.

Having inexpensive quality beer to drink is the best way to weather a long wait, but honestly, this was a LONG wait. When the food came out, one of our burgers was burnt. We did order that one well-done, but this was WELLLLL done. Black & crispy. So we re-ordered & that took an additional 20 minutes. When the food finally came out....meh. The burgers were passable, but nothing I would go out of my way for. We basically felt that we paid $13 for a few extra spices in our meat.

I'll simplify things a bit with a list of pros & cons.
Pros: In the neighborhood; cheap beer; pickles in the condiment bar.
Cons: EXPENSIVE; grouchy customer service; limited seating both inside & out; uncomfortable chairs; the apparent lack of a recycling program (though who knows, maybe they sort it out later).

Wow.

I will never eat at this place again.

It was 1am and my boyfriend and I were in the neighborhood. A juicy hamburger sounded amazing. The place was scattered with obnoxious drunk people, so I figured it had to be somewhat good.

We did a "make your own" burger with buffalo meat, cilantro and bacon mixed into the meat, and cheese. My boyfriend asked for an egg on top and for it to be medium rare. We order sweet potato fries on the side.

The total comes to $20.75. SERIOUSLY? For a burger and fries? After that kind of price, I expected it to be amazing. Instead, this is what we got:

- Teeny, tiny basket of fries. Yes, they were good. But honestly, there were maybe 12 of them. For almost $4, not worth it AT ALL.

- Burger came with no egg. We took it back and asked for what we ordered. It came out with the egg this time, but the egg looked like a crispy omlette (usually hamburgers that come with eggs are sunny side up). Plus the burger was well done. NO pink inside whatsoever. We took it back again and asked for it to be re-made. 10 minutes later we got the exact same egg, but at least it was pink inside.

Honestly, if I could give a place zero stars, I would. But the cashier was nice and put up with our complaints (even though it wasn't our fault that they made it wrong. Twice.) So fine. I'll give them 1 star.

Total rip-off.

$40= 1 chipotle burger, 1 roman burger, a side of garlic fries, and 2 beers (@ happy hour special of $1.95 per beer.)

...Don't bother with this place, the food is mediocre (at best) and the atmosphere is not inviting...go down the street to NOPA for a real burger and better ambience.

"Oh, there's Nopa across the street with late night burgers and Bean Bag across the other street with $2 beers from 3 - 10 PM.  Both are very popular.  Let's open a late night burger place with $2 beers from 3 - 10 PM."  Generally I like mashups, but maybe they work better using Kanye West songs instead of restaurant concepts.

Okay, first of all, I am not even vegetarian, but their only veggie option is a Boca burger.  Even that's not terrible, but it seems out of place when they have all these options for getting raisins or celery or whatever specially ground in with your meat.  You are in San Francisco; just smash some black beans and cumin together and charge $9 for it.

The burger was super bready, the sweet potato fries were frozen, then burnt.  The onion rings and pesto mayo were pretty tasty!  Good job on that.  Things are pricey too.  If this were not the first meal of an extraordinarily hungover day, I probably wouldn't have finished it all.  Okay, that's a lie, but I'm kind of a fatty.

Overall, this place just seems really cynical and makes me sad.

Good.  Well, yeah, good.  I guess.

I will put it this way, if someone paid me 10 bucks and chained me to table in this place I would eat their burger and be happy to have some food to work up the strength to break said chain.

Now then, if someone gave me 10 bucks and I had to buy a meal on Divisadero this would not even enter the top 15 places I would chose from.

Not bad.  They do sell beer for cheap, but in this neighborhood having a good price for beer is about as special as having a tattoo.

Burgerhaus is pretty good medium range burgers. You know, its not your 5 dollar burger, not your 12 dollar burger, but its somewhere inbetween depending on what you get.

The burgers are like 1/2 a pound so they're pretty substantial and there's a condiment bar. The garlic fries were good but nothing out of the ordinary. Same thing with just about everything else.

Not something I'm gonna rave about, but its pretty solid burger place and remember its open till 3 am...so think about that.

I've been here three times since it opened and like it a bit more each time I swing through. It's Niman beef, so you're going to be paying a bit more than McDonalds or In N Out, but you can get a nice cheeseburger for about $7.50 with tax. Each time I've had a burger they've cooked it exactly as I wanted, and a nice medium-rare burger is one of life's simple pleasures. The buns are lightly toasted, and there's a fixings station for you to dress up the burger however you'd like. The pesto mayo is absolutely delicious and should be used on everything. There's also quality beers for $2 a pop from 3-10 because they have to compete with the Bean Bag's cheap burgers.

I really like this place but do have a few quibbles. The turkey burger is dry and bland, and the chicken burger is not as good as I thought it would be. They also have a "Kobe" and ostrich burger, but I don't feel like dropping $14 on a burger I know won't be worth it. The garlic fries are actually kind of cool because they use fresh garlic, but I find most of their fries to be somewhat mediocre. Of course, if you order the sweet potatoes fries you may become addicted to this place.

Ben and I just got home from eating a delicious burger dinner at Acme Burgerhaus. I chose the buffalo, Ben had the lamb. Condiment bar is very much appreciated and when we got there was fully stocked with lots of great burger toppings, including romaine lettuce, sweet and hot peppers, pickles, tomatoes, pesto mayo, etc. ad nauseam.

So good, I ate the whole thing in less than ten minutes. Ben too. I need to learn how to eat slower, but it was tender and juicy and the bun was tasty, I couldn't help myself.

The decor is a little wacky, the neon lights a little garish, but it's a burger joint. And it's only been open a week. Let's give them a chance, people! Both of us are happy to have a decent and different kind of fast food option in the neighborhood. Please don't go anywhere too soon, Burgerhaus.

PS- I like you way better than Burgermesiter already. Do you like me, too? Circle yes no maybe.

This place is pretty good.  You can choose from a variety of different types of burgers including turkey and boca.  It's totally nice to find a veg friendly burger place!  They have an awesome condiment bar complete w/ LTO, pesto Mayo hot peppers and pickles.  They also have 4 pound ketchups at every table and 2, i said it....2 types of mustard!

Bravo.
They have delicious fries, I've only tried the regular and the sweet potato but both we're delish.
Another awesome plus is that they have 4 (?) beers on tap and Mexican 1/2 liter cokes...they're made with real sugar and taste INFINITELY better than our faux ingredients here in the states.
Oh, and a cool ambiance sans the sterile pine sol smell that's pretty overwhelming.
The cons.....a bit overpriced and whenever you're eating there it smells like pine sol.

I'm always on the lookout for something memorable everywhere I go. What will I remember months from now when someone asks me how the food was? Or the experience? Or the atmosphere?

Acme will be remembered for one thing: ketchup.

I have never seen so much ketchup in my life. Bottles and bottles of the massive 64oz containers were on every table, lined up in front of the grill area and even near the condiments. Were there an earthquake and you were trapped, there was enough ketchup to sustain for weeks. And oddly, about an even split between regular and organic. Only in SF.

What I'll also remember - a decent buffalo burger that was way overpriced at $10 with zero sides. My friends enjoyed their $2 beers, and if this was a bar, that's be worth an extra star or two. But this is a burgerhaus. Cheaper and better can be found elsewhere.

Not a bad burger, but not memorable either.

I had a cheeseburger, medium rare, with fries and a Sierra.

The burger was more of, for lack of a better term, a diner-style patty, wide and relatively thin. The meat wasn't as juicy as I'd have liked, or expected. The bun, brioche if I remember right, was damn good. The fries were tasty and generously portioned.

All told I think the quality needs to go up or the price needs to come down. For the price I can find a significantly better burger pretty easily.

Food aside, the staff are great. Very friendly and fun.

While there wasn't a line to order at 6:30 PM almost all of the available seating was taken with only one unbussed table (and a staff that didn't appear too busy to handle it) left. Given that they only have about six tables this doesn't seem like it's going to be an uncommon problem.

While the prices looked reasonable after ordering I quickly realized that it really wasn't any cheaper than Burgermeister where the burger price is a bit higher, but comes with fries evening out. A cheeseburger (cheddar), chili fries, and a drink came to about $15... a bit pricey for a simple burger.

Immediately after ordering as I perused my receipt I noticed that my medium-rare burger had accidentally been submitted as medium-well a not at all insignificant problem. I quickly brought this to the attention of the cashier, but when my burger finally came out about 15 minutes later (with nobody ahead of me and perhaps one person with an empty table in front of them this seemed rather long) it was quite overcooked into a nearly tasteless medium-well. I could have complained, but at that point I'd already had a chance to submit my order and correct it... I shouldn't have to correct their mistakes twice.

Despite overcooking the burger seemed like nothing particularly special and with a thin slice of cheese that appeared to have recently seen the interior of an individually-wrapped piece of plastic. The chili fries was a mess with the fries themselves being merely average, frozen foodservice bits of something that was probably potato a while back, mediocre chili, and the orangey vileness that is cheap runny nacho "cheese".

In the end they screwed up my order twice leaving me with something nearly inedible, they charged perhaps a little bit more than Burgermeister, and the chili fries were just blandness topped with sadness.

It was basically a disappointment on every front. I seriously cannot suggest that anyone bother when there are superior burgers available at just about any other establishment.

The mixed reviews triggered my terminal uniqueness and off I went to determine just who is telling the truth about Acme Burgerhaus.  My first visit was made impossible by the total lack of perking within a four block radius after circling for 45 minutes, but I had no trouble on a Thursday afternoon at 4:00 pm.  I was surprised by the simple austerity of the place, maybe they ran out of money close to opening or they have no interest in a design statement.  It's a small space, brown, green, orange and off white with small nautical lights screwed into the ceiling, six or seven black and white photo's of various sizes and one in color along with five neon beer signs in the upper reaches of the window storefront.  Surrounded by Hayes Valley, The Castro and a bunch of bars with the Independent across the street a block away and The Fillmore a dozen blocks further North on Divisadero, the place is next door to Popeye's and the difference in clientele is astounding, maybe hilarious.

I'm there for the burger so down to business.  The menu is two letter size white sheets of paper with six or seven burgers available, fries, onion rings and a couple other sides and salads.  The salads must be composed from the stainless refrigerated compartmentalized salad bar next to the ordering counter and the stuff looks good and fresh.  First visit I try and stick to the basics, beef (in this case 1/2 lb. of Niman Ranch cooked to order with Swiss from a choice of six cheeses, so this is the basic with cheese.  I order a side of fries and rings which I didn't come close to finishing, they were both very good and cooked perfectly.  The fries actually tasted like fresh potatoes and were crunchy, crispy and cute from first quality Idaho bakers.

They have condiments galore, stacked on the floors, counters and the customer salad bar where you choose and apply whatever condiments you want.  At least three mayo's from Best Foods, five Stars, Heinz (ketchup too), Pesto and a combination of 1000 Island and Russian they make themselves.  There's hand pulled lettuce, beautiful tomato's, generous red onion. pickle chips in addition to the Dill spear that comes with the burger, peppers and a few other things most places would never give a customer access to.  Those neon beer signs I mentioned are truth in advertising because they've got five or six beers on tap, fountain soda and even Coke bottled in Mexico which so many love.  Prices were fair, service isn't part of their operation and it's not a hale hearty joint, just a burger business that prides itself on quality, not personality.

A new burger place in my neighborhood!

Gourmet infused burgers for around $15 or a classic one for $7. They have Bean Bag to compete with in terms of their 3 - 10pm happy hour ($1.90 a beer), this place also has outdoor seating. Pretty basic burger place so far...I will make sure to check it out again.

My hood is growing up. Love it!

WOW!
I have just had the best burger I have ever had in the whole of California!

Ok, so this is my first time ever posting on yelp, no place has really inspired me enough to put the word out, but this place is special.

They just implemented a new menu (10/26) with specially made burgers (handmade mixing of good beef and many tasty additions, which you can mix and match).  I had the Roman Burger, which included sundried tomatoes, Parmesan cheese, oregano, and garlic.  The flavors in this burger were unimaginable... I took my first bite without adding any condiments and my mouth jumped for joy, I've never had a burger so filled with such amazing flavors.  My bf had the Chipotle Burger, which was also absolutely fantastic.

We haven't been able to stop talking about these burgers since we left the restaurant (and those oh so delicious sweet potato fries!!!).

These specialty burgers are not cheap, but they will blow your mind.  Don't bother with the run of the mill regular burger, try the specialty burgers and see why this burgerhaus stands out in a crowd.

This would have been a 1.5 star.

My wife and I had lunch there. She ordered the chipotle burger (12.95!). I had the buffalo burger with cheese. We also had the garlic fries.

With one drink, this totaled $33. I would have been unhappy if it was half that amount.

My buffalo burger had no seasoning. The fixins bar helped jazz it up but it still was a tasteless burger. They also forgot my cheese so I had to get that added later.

My wife's chipotle burger was better seasoned but mushy and it fell apart. And for $12.95, it pissed me off and I wasn't the one eating it.

The fries were the only part we both liked.

This place is literally 2 blocks away from our home so we had high hopes. They were dashed. No need to go back.

Excellent burger! Sure, it's a tad pricey, but for the size and quality I would definitely return for more!

TRY THE GARLIC FRIES!  and get a side of the pesto mayo to dip them in... yummmmmmmm.

Also, $1.95 beers at happy hour (3-10pm is the longest 'hour' I've ever seen!) with a decent beer selection.  Give the Burgerhaus a try!

What can I say...I was thinking Acme chop house....place did not deliver. Very dissappointing as I love seeing new entrants into the divisadero corridor.

eye candy was at a ZERO.

food took longer than 15 minutes  ( for a burger and fries?) and the environment was sterile to say the least. kind of like it was slapped together. Seems like it is trying to be hip but has no theme or substance about it. Very dissappointed. Especially after i saw the salad bar. i was like, is this blue barn meets burger joint. no it was not.

Pros - As others have said $1.95 beers 3pm-10pm, longest happy hour i have heard of. And it seems like a good spot to lube up before going to the independent.

Cons - As others have said meat tasted weird, i had the buffalo burger, bread was dry and had freezer burn taste, you know what I am talking about you freeze some bread and then throw it in the oven, it sometimes has a weird taste...this bread had that taste. Sweet potatoe fries were definitely not fresh.

Decor sucked, vibe was weird, looked half thrown together. i doubt i will be back for the food, maybe the beer.  The music was also pretty bad and i like J5. not  a good experience.  Oh yeah the 64 oz jumbo heinz catsups on the table screamed laziness and being unprepared, my favorite was when i went to pour some and nothing came out, yes it would make sense for you to take the white cap off remove the sticky protector catsup top and screw back on the top for your patrons.

A complete waste of $16.22 (steep) for a buffalo burger, sweet potatoe fries and a coke.

Had the Lamb burger cooked medium and was really impressed with the quality and taste of the meat. Gives the NOPA burger a run for it's money.

My biggest problem was with the condiment bar. Selection was not all that great (no dijon mustard? really?), would like to see a better selection and more adventurous options.

Minor complaints, I will be back for sure.

A new burger spot on Divisadero.    They have Kobe Beef 1/2 pound burgers and Astrich, Lamb, and Buffalo along with the other regulars.   Tried the Kobe Beef and Astrich and they were excellent for the $12.95 price.   SF Burger charges $15 for Kobe Beef.   Astrich and Buffalo are really low fat, lean burgers.   Its a small place but worth checking out.

OHH...If I owned a burger joint...to make it different since it takes nearly 10mins to get your burger here..I'd offer mix in fixings...(ex)
worchester and onion, it would add 15 seconds to the order...so what!
i enjoyed what I got there...it's difficult to screw up a burger really. So here's what I think and experienced.

They happened to be out of 21st amendment IPA . They could soften the lights I agree. And make better use of the condiment station...one would expect the usual...how's about more unique fixing ie...salsa, fruit or something that makes me remember to return.

Let me give you the bad first. The burger here is standard. Not bad at all. Just nothing special. It will totally do over anything you might buy at Popeye's or Jay's Cheesesteak. At the same level as what you might get at Bean Bag across the street. Why you should come here is the cheap beer and the DEELISHUS sweet potato fries. mmmm-m!

Have had food here two times now and i am for it.

1.95 happy hour for 6 beers on tap from 3-10
plus side is they take credit card so you dont need cash to buy some beers

the burger has been very good lots of choices of cheese which is nice
you get to put on your own toppings which is fun cool crowd and not too crowded yet.

i have a feeling this place will become very busy all the time

I would like to hear one argument for eating at this temple of mediocrity, when one could eat a burger for the same price across the street at Nopa.

This establishment succeeded at one thing: providing me with caloric intake in exchange for $13.

I ordered the Kobe Beef burger and asked for it med. rare. "Medium rare" was misunderstood as "only partially pink and mostly grey with a touch of freezer burn". Theirs was obviously a frozen patty (don't believe me? Go ahead, ask the guy behind the counter), making their "burger" fall well short of anything Wendy's could provide.

Congratulation's Acme! If you succeed it will be because your beer is cheap and because little else is available at 2 in the morning. If you fail, few people will be surprised.

Go across the street for your burger needs in this n'hood. And if travelling, stop by Fish & Farm or Front Porch or Flipper's or or or ANY other of the 300 est. in SF that offer a burger on their menu for a similar price point ($13) but that won't make you want to flip over their condiment cart on your way out.

First thing you should know -- I'm a midwest boy.  Grew up eating beef.  Definitely know the difference between a 2-star hamburger joint and a 5-star.  And Burgerhaus is 4.5 stars... but don't have that option, so going with 4-stars.  The burgers are very good.  Brought some friends in the other night and the ordered the Kobe burger and both thought is was in the 4-star range.

Anyway, I've already been there twice and will definitely be going back to try the buffalo burger.

Loved the Coca-Cola imported from Mexico (uses real sugar vs. corn-syrup) and the sweet-potato fries.  Would like to see whole-wheat buns and made fresh daily fries (actually, they might be, but didn't have that "In-And-Out" fresh taste).  Overall, great addition to the neighborhood!

Havent posted a review in - uh - ever, but thought this place warranted one.  I was making my regular friday night walk down Divis towards Haight to get dinner when unfamiliar lights from a storefront caught my attention.  Could it be?  Yes!  A burger joint in the neighborhood.  The review are accurate -- $1.95 beers from 3-10pm.  I had a Sierra, which was nice an fresh.

It should be pointed out that this is not the kind of place youd come and hang out for hours having beers with friends like, say, Bean Bag.  The decor needs some work.  The lights are too bright and the seating is sparse.  Not really a true "burger house" feel.  The rock n roll photography on the walls by - um - Charlie Homo was a nice touch.

Now to the burger.  I got a cheeseburger.  Cheddar cheese, medium.  The burger and beer totaled $10 which is very reasonable (this doesnt include fries).  Took about 8-10 minutes to prepare and they brought it out to my table.  I took my burger to the fixings station where I added the following -- lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles, jalapenos, ketchup and mayo.   I was ready and hopeful for a great burger.  Upon taking the first bite, one ingredient stood out -- black pepper.  There was a good amount of black pepper in this burger, and I liked it.  It was a distinguishable flavor.  The burger was juicy and of a nice size.  I ate it in about 10 minutes and was satisfied.

I will be back.  The end.
