What can I say - MOVING SUCKS!!! However, once again ACE Moving does not fail me! Kenny and JD ROCK as always. I've used ACE last year and they did an AWESOME job. Kenny and JD have been in the business for a long time and are EFFICIENT and gets the job done. Kenny and JD are also very personable and very cool dudes :) Don't forget Stephanie. You'll most likely get Stephanie when you call and Stephanie is a very sweet lady! Sorry for freaking out Stephanie! LOL!!

It's our first time hiring movers so we are a bit nervous about what to expect and the cost. We are moving from Hayward to San Carlos. We moved everything on our own except for the furnitures (9 big/medium and 6 small pieces) to keep the cost down.
I yelped all the movers who service Hayward and called them up for a quote. I was getting quotes for over $550, Ace moving gave me an hourly rate that is second to the lowest ($88 cash/hr). I didn't go with the mover who gave me the lowest quote because I couldn't understand him at all (even through emails) and he was not answering any of my questions. I talked to Kenny on the phone, he seems very sensible and honest. He answered all my questions thoroughly. Given my situation, Kenny agreed to make an exception and squeezed us in on Saturday afternoon with 3 hour minimum instead of the regular 4 hour minimum. It turns out their morning move got cancelled and they were able to come at 9am instead!
Kenney and JD came on time at 8:50am, they loaded everything up in an hour. The drive took them 45 mins (standard practice that drive time is doubled) and only 45 mins to unload at San Carlos. They are incredibly experienced and strong. They are down to business and they didn't milk the clock. The bill comes out to be $286 before tips!
I definitely recommend Ace Moving for big and small jobs. If you want to keep the cost down, try to be as prepared as possible. For instance, we emptied out all the drawers, took out all the shelves and taped all loose pieces/cables. Good luck and go with Ace Moving! -

I cannot say enough good things about JD & Kenny. When I told friends & co-workers I was moving, I got 3 recommendations from 3 different people within 72 hours telling me that Ace was the only way to go. When I called to schedule an appointment, they pointed out several things I could do to be ready, in order not to waste my money; what business do you hear that kind of customer care from anymore ? They also give a cash discount. JD & Kenny were careful, respectful, kind, efficient & funny too. They understand moving is stressful & they really do everything they can to make it less painful. Having worked together as a team for many years, they are able to communicate, plan & lift in unison; experience counts ! I just love these guys & we even took pictures together after the move was finished. There was nothing lost & nothing damaged. Several weeks after my move, I needed help with some furniture, so my natural go-to was calling Ace; they did me a huge favor after they had already had a long & tiring day. I appreciated their help so much, that I sent them each a gift :)

I hired Ace to move me on Friday the 13th in January. Kenny told me not to worry as that was his dad's birthday. Needless to say, JD & Kenny showed up right on time. They did a walk through in order to develop their process and got started. They are like a well oiled efficient machine. When we arrived at the new location they always stopped to ask if where they set the furniture was exactly where I wanted it. They showed up at 9 am and were non-stop until 7 pm all for $900+. Not only are they effiecient but they are courteous and respectful. You simply can't go wrong hiring this company! JD & Kenny rock !

Ace Moving is awesome! We have used them for 4 moves since 2004. Kenny and his crew have always done a stellar job doing what ever it takes (like building and then rebuilding our kid's furniture) to make our moves painless and quick. They even give a discount for paying cash which is always nice. After every move I always say that it was "money well spent"! I recommend them every chance I get and i am frankly embarrassed it has taken me this long to review them on Yelp!

Wow, I am thoroughly impressed with the moving service I received yesterday from Kenny and JD.
First off, I had to reschedule at the last minute and they fit me in yesterday afternoon, no questions asked, and they gave me a call when they were done with their first move, to let me know they were on their way! So kind.
Secondly, these guys hustled thru the whole move. They worked efficiently, quickly, and with respect for all of my items. They moved my big red leather couch like it was the easiest thing they've ever done. Moved all of my boxes with care and lugged them upstairs to where I wanted them. I was getting tired just watching them!
I recommend them to anyone, moving anywhere. I was so grateful for their work and for putting me at ease. Nothing better then competent, customer friendly movers to get the job done!
Have plenty of Gatorade available, they're buring A LOT of calories!
Hope you guys enjoyed the pizza and my crazy family!

When I moved from WA to CA my plans changed at the last minute and I had to scramble to find help moving into my new place. I saw that these guys had good yelp reviews so I gave them a call. They were able to help me the next day. Kenny and JD are great guys, everything went smoothly and quickly. I'd recommend giving them a call!

Simply. The. Best. Movers. EVER!
The guys were right on time and professional from the get-go. These guys are consciously carefully with your goods while still keeping themselves safe. Other movers that I've used in the past have been either one or the other. They were also very efficient. I saved some good money versus other companies because they did not slack off once. And they're cheaper than the competition!
I saved so much time and money that I made sure to give the guys a great tip. I'm sure that you will, too! -

Just like they recommend, I checked with the Better Business Bureau and the California Public Utilities Commission when I was searching for a moving company. Then I searched Yelp from the list of local companies that are licensed and insured. Ace Moving ended up at the top of my list, and I have nothing but good things to say about them.
They did all the paperwork by the book, were very flexible (even when my apartment building changed our elevator reservation time 3 days before the move), and showed up ready to move on-time (really important when you have a narrow time slot for elevator use).
Ken & JD did my move.... they are very experienced, very careful with your belongings, and work very efficiently. The other people moving out of our apartment building were in awe of their skills.
I highly recommend this moving company! -

We just used Ace Movers for two different moves: one was a short hop between apartments in Alameda, the other was helping my mom into an assisted living facility. In both cases, they were complete pros: very careful with our stuff, quick, and a complete pleasure to deal with from beginning to end.
Moving is stressful enough. Moving a parent is even more so. But in both cases, Kenny and JD were just fabulous. Can't recommend them highly enough. -

These guys are incredible!!! Kenny and JD have moved our home, which is full of large, awkward, bulky pieces twice now, and they do an amazing job. They are prompt, courteous and friendly, and they take excellent care of your belongings. I've not had anything broken or damaged at all. In addition, their prices are *very* competitive, making moving not quite so painful! I highly recommend Kenny and JD at Ace Moving-they will make moving so much easier.

The team at ACE Moving in San Leandro did a perfect job in relocating us from Emeryville to Richmond recently. We had the double-whammy of haivng to move out of a 3rd story apartment into a house with steep stairs on a hill and also needed a storage unit moved to the house as well.
They were very accomodating at being able to stop at one place , navigate elevators and narrow passages then fill the truck at the 2nd stop of the storage facility and bring it all over to the house in one shot.
We would HIGHLY recommend the team at ACE as they were very cognisant to our needs, making sure they were efficient with their time, making our possessions safe and ultimately were down to earth, friendly, cost effective and service oriented.

These guys are the best. They showed up on time, worked very quickly and efficiently and were gentle with our stuff. I forget exactly what their quoted rate was -- somewhere between $80-$90/hr with a 3 hour minimum. It seemed very reasonable to have very professional and experienced movers move your stuff.
Also, they are licensed, and you sign a form that makes it all official -- you can opt for whatever level of insurance you like (from waiving your right to make claims in case of an accident to getting tens of thousands of dollars worth of insurance on your stuff). -

These guys are awesome! They worked with me on an Insurance claim. To start off they jumped through the hoops of coming out to write up an estimate and faxing it over to my Insurance Agent. They then packed me up and Moved me from Hayward to Oakley in a day. They were great to work with, Professional and Polite. Thanks Ken!!

Couldn't be happier. From my initial phone inquiry to the main office (talked to Stephanie, I believe) to the final handshakes with Kenny & JD after their 2nd day moving us, it was smooth sailing. Through a screw-up on our roofing contractor's part, K & J had to work around a ladder on our front walk and accomodate the roofer's vehicle coming & going. I wouldn't have blamed them if they copped an attitude about that but they remained friendly as could be. That is of paramount importance to me. Kenny & JD have been a team for years and to say they work hand-in-glove would be an understatement. Not a scratch on two household's worth of stuff getting moved into a house with trecherous steps along the side. JD is "as strong as 10 camels in the courtyard" and Kenny used his expertise to ever-so-gently make suggestions that kept "The Boss" (me) from making bone-head decisions. Let's face it, pulling up stakes is a Big stresser, even if you're fortunate enough to be "moving on up" but Ace Moving made the experience something close to, dare I say it, fun. Oh yeah, very reasonable rates too!
