Odenton Hardware

Stepping in this place feels like stepping into an old-school hardware store (in a good way). You get the feeling like whatever you are looking for, they are going to have it. It seems like the workers rotate near the front door so as soon as you enter, there is someone there to direct you to what you are looking for.

The aisles are a bit narrow compared to those big box stores, but they are loaded with every product imaginable. The prices are a little bit higher on some things but it's a local, small business so remember you are supporting them instead a big corporation.

We only went in to have keys cut but walked out with keys AND bird food. Hey, it was on sale this week, lol.

I always want to support my locally owned stores. I give Ace all my business. Ace Hardware of Odenton is no exception until my last visit. I bought an item and the total for the one item was $1.01. I had a fifty, a twenty and a dollar. I asked if they had a penny, the worker said no. I asked if I had to break a twenty for one cent? He replied I guess so. Seriously!! $18.99 change. I'm rethinking my loyalty to this local store. Home Depot isn't that far.

Though they have a lot in a small space it pales in comparison to other ACE hardware stores. I also find the customer service matter of fact; non friendly.

I am stopping being a customer at any ACE store. i ordered something for a Christmas present on December 1. I needed to return the item as he got a different item of similar product. Odenton store told me I had to call corporate. I asked if I could just return for other items I could use. They said no. i called corporate and they said it was out of the 30 return policy. I ordered it on December 1.....and January 1 my son was not yet here to have Christmas. corporate refused to do anything.

I will never go back I to an ACE store...most assuredly the Odenton store. I was willing to buy sidewalk icing pellets and bird seed. my purchase would have been in excess of what these returns cost me.

Odenton ACE and ACE has lost my business. Lousy customer service.

Need something quick and don't want to drive to Lowe's or Home Depot. ace Hardware in Odenton has just about everything fir the house, plumbing or garden minus plants. Stop in and support a local business owner.

Was not able to enter the store because I didn't have a mask on my (at this time AA county doesn't require a mask to enter a store..)

There are some really nice people who work here. Check your mail for the coupons that are inside of the Val-pak mailer. Located near Walgreens in Odenton, this place has that old school hardware vibe where the employees care enough to try to learn the customers and the pet projects that they're working on.
Its a bit crowded with all of the items they have in stock. I had to ask an employee to help me find what I needed and thy knew the store like the back of their hand.
Checking out can be a little slow since this is a small business with a handful of employees.Small isn't bad in this scenario as it can be a relief from the shopping experience at one of the big box hardware stores.
If in the area, I'd shop here again and it is a place I could recommend to others.

I get the same feeling going into this ace that I get going into a home depot. It just stirs up my inner handiman and makes me want to do something random like redo the deck, or buy a couple bags of cement. The staff here is always friendly, and even though I know i'm quite able to lift my own items. They are still nice enough to assist or at least offer to help me to my car.

Sidenote: One should never just buy 1 bag of cement. A real man backs a truck up.

Say it with me now... "Lemme get a couple 60 lb bags of cement"
Anything less and they're gonna look at you like your salsa was made in New York City.

My trip was less than five minutes. Someone helped me as soon as I walked in the door and helped me quickly find the exact bolts I needed. I wish I could make the review longer, but its simply a clean store with great employees!

Outstanding folks!! Very very convenient, helpful, honest, and reasonably priced.

If you need to get something for a quick fix or maintenance around the house--odds are that they've got it. In addition, you get the bonus of them probably knowing what else you may or may not need to get your job done right. If they can't help you--they won't waste your time and tell you the best places to get what you need. Try getting that kind of help at a Lowes or Home Depot....
